Barack Obama claims that he knows William Ayers only as “a guy in the neighborhood.”

In fact, the unrepentant Ayers is a longtime friend and associate of Obama.
Is Ayers’s transformative public school curriculum the kind of “change” that President Barack Obama will bring us? Activists who teach “social justice” know that influencing public school teachers, who can then influence the next generation, is the most effective way to bring about the change they hope will soon become majority opinion.

Ayers and Obama worked closely together during the 1990’s when Obama headed the Chicago Annenberg Challenge (CAC) and Ayers co-chaired CAC’s Collaborative and also was ex officio a member of CAC’s board. Obama served on the CAC board until 2001.

The CAC board made the fiscal decisions and the Collaborative set education policy. It is obvious that they had to have significant consultations about the disbursement of the education grants. Obama was essentially authorizing the funding of education projects chosen by Ayers. The CAC gave $160 million is grants to so-called “school-reform” projects. Grant decisions initially put in place continued even after personnel changes.

Ayers was the founder and developer of a project known as the “small schools” movement, a scheme that enabled grants to be guided to “social justice” – themed schools built around specific political themes such as “inequality, war and violence.” The small-schools movement was heavily funded by CAC. CAC also funded teacher-training to “teach against oppression” and America’s alleged history of evil and racism.

According to Stanley Kurtz, senior fellow at the Ethics and Public Policy Center, a lot of CAC money was distributed through so-called “external partners” with whom the small-schools were required to affiliate, such as ACORN (Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now). ACORN is identified with the organizing tactics of the Chicago radical Sol Alinsky.

The Chicago Annenberg Challenge appears to be just another example of Republican Foundation money taken over by the leftists and used to advance leftwing causes. CAC’s own final report compared the progress of students at schools that received Annenberg grants and schools that did not, concluding that “There was no statistical significance in student achievement between Annenberg schools and demographically similar non-Annenberg effect on achievement.

Obama authored two autobiographies but never wrote about his important executive experience in the 1990s with the Chicago Annenberg Challenge. Nor did he mention that his first candidacy for public office, when he ran for Illinois State Senate, was launched at the home of William Ayers.

“SOCIAL JUSTICE’ TEACHING IS NOT ONLY A TERRIBLE WASTE OF PRECIOUS SCHOOL HOURS; IT IS GRIEVOUSLY HARMFUL TO POOR CHILDREN. SOL STERN OF THE MANHATTAN INSTITUTE SAYS THAT “TEACHING FOR SOCIAL JUSTICE IS A CRUEL HOAX ON DISADVANTAGED CHILDREN.”

Barack Obama announced that his crony, Chicago School Superintendent Arne Duncan who also had ties to the Chicago Annenberg Challenge, will be the new Secretary of Education. In the fall of 2008, Duncan announced plans to open “gay friendly” public schools called Pride Campus with 600 students, half homosexual and half heterosexual. Official materials proclaimed that the curriculum would “teach the history of all people who have been oppressed and the civil rights movements that have led to social justice and queer studies.” After the announcement of Duncan’s promotion, the opening of this unusual school was quietly postponed.

It’s no surprise that propaganda favoring B.O. is already finding favor with textbook publishers. The McDougal Littell 8th-grade advanced English literature book (Houghton Mifflin Co. 21008) has 15 pages featuring Barack Obama and his “life of service.”

A good way for parents to identify the bias of social studies textbooks is to check the index and then compare the coverage of Barack Obama and Ronald Reagan.

Ayers‘s Influence on Education (cont’d)

Ayers maintains a busy lecture schedule at other schools of education and is a welcome visiting lecturer at Columbia Teachers College. He also does teacher training and professional development for Chicago public schools.

In a 2000 interview with REVOLUTION, the magazine of the Marxist-Leninist-Maoist Revolutionary Communist Party, Ayers attacked American conservative as “the most reactionary cabal of ideologues I’ve seen.” Ayers complained that conservatives “all three branches of the federal government, control many state governments, control the media – the kind of bought priest-hood of the media that does nothing but bow down to them and kowtow to them.”

Ayers endorsed a book Queering Elementary Education by William J. Letts IV and James T. Sears, a collection of essays to teach adults and children to “think queerly.” The blurb on the cover quotes Ayers as saying this is “a book for all teachers …. And, yes, it has an agenda.”

Ayer’s far-our education theories have had a significant effect in education schools. One after another, teacher colleges are using their courses to promote socialist notions of wealth distribution, diversity and environmentalism, and to punish students who resist this indoctrination by giving them low grades or even denying them graduation. The Department of Education list 14 high schools whose mission statements declare their curricula center on “social justice.”….

On Labor Day, September 6, 1976, I sent the following letter to California’s Governor Jerry Brown. Excerpts: (Laws like the following are also in Illinois.)

One of the most destructive pieces of legislation encouraged and signed by you in 1975 was S.B. 160, This is a teacher collective bargaining bill dubbed the Rodda Act. This law is an assault on academic freedom, professional teacher integrity, and quality of education….

Your signature legalized at least four divisive and ruinous principles in public education: 1.) coercion 2.) adversary relationship 3.) exclusivity 4.) agency fees.

In addition your special interest union bill furthers the politicization of the teaching profession and union boss control of education.

About two hundred years ago Thomas Jefferson wrote, “That to compel a man to furnish contributions or money for the propagation of opinions which he disbelieves and abhors is sinful and tyrannical.” …. I urge you to repeal S.B. 160…

I don’t want to become a molded and programmed union organization first educator. I will fight to remain a free & independent-minded professional teacher.

The principles of freedom and cooperation, not collectivism and coercion, are our heritage and legacy for future generations. Instead you and others have played politics with the education of children. This is criminal...

In an election 51% represent the other 49%. They feel that they need to indoctrinate and brainwash the other 49% who may happen to be independent, conservative or Republican. AYERS’S INFLUENCE ON EDUCATION

Sol Stern of the Manhattan Institute describes Education Professor William Ayers as one of the leaders in “bringing radical social-justice teaching into our public school classrooms.” Most of Ayers’s socialist propaganda is financed with taxpayers’ money at state universities and teachers colleges.

Ayers teaches that America is oppressive and unjust, that wealth and resources should be redistributed, and that only socialism can solve our problems. He speaks openly of his desire to use America’s public school classrooms to train a generation of revolutionaries who will overturn the supposedly imperialistic regime of capitalist America.

From his prestigious and tenured university perch, Ayers for years has been teaching teachers and students’ rebellion against American capitalism and what he calls “imperialism” and “oppression.” The code words for the Ayers curriculum are “social justice,” a “transformative” vision, “critical pedagogy.” “liberation,” “capitalist injustices,” “critical race theory.” “queer theory,” and of course multiculturalism and feminism.

That vocabulary is typical in the readings that Ayers assigns in his university courses. He admits he is a “COMMUNIST STREET FIGHTER” who has been influenced by Karl Marx, as well as Che Guevara, Ho Chi Minh, and Malcom X.

Ayers see his education work as carrying on his radicalism in a new sphere. What he calls education “reform” focuses almost exclusively on teaching a “social justice” agenda in the classroom and a race-based approach to education policy. That’s been his mission since he realized that revolution could be achieved easier by teaching lies about America to public school students than by planting bombs.

Ayers wants teachers to be community organizers dedicated to provoking resistance to supposed racism and oppression. His education philosophy calls for infusing students and their parents with a radical political commitment, and downplaying achievement tests in favor of activism. His books are among the most widely used in America’s 1,500 schools of education. Ayers even uses science and math courses as part of his “transformation” political strategy to teach that the American economic system is unjust.

Ayers teaches a course at University of Illinois at Chicago called “On Urban Education,” in which he calls for a “distribution of material and human resources.” The course description states: “Homelessness, crime, racism, oppression – we have the resources and knowledge to fight and overcome these things. We need to look behind our isolated situations, to define our problems globally. We cannot be child advocates …. In Chicago or New York and ignore the web that links us with the children of India and Palestine.” The readings he assigns for the course include Paolo Freire’s Pedagogy of the Oppressed, 2 of Ayers own books & Teaching to Transgress by a radical black feminist.

What the Rodda Act(1975) does is a form of control: leftwing muzzling, cloning and politicizing the profession. The independent-minded professional teachers are subdued.

WHERE DID “SOCIAL JUSTICE” COME FROM?
“Social justice” is certainly not a new concept, but leftwing educators have redefined the term to mean teaching FOR “social justice” by overthrowing the current money and power structure. “Education Week” identifies this new meaning of “social justice” as coming from the writings of the late Brazilian educator, Paulo Freire. His best known book, Pedagogy of the Oppressed (1970) is considered a classic text of radical education theory and is regularly assigned in education schools.

Paulo Freire developed his liberation pedagogy out of his experience with illiterate peasants in northeastern Brazil, who probably were victims of a semi-feudal society. But Brazilian oppression has no relation to the U.S. economic or social structure, and it is dishonest to pretend that it is relevant to educating minority children in the United States.

A survey made of the principal books used in the basic “foundations of education” and “methods” courses in the most prestigious schools of education discovered that the most frequently used books were those of PAOLO FREIRE AND WILLIAM AYERS.

After Freire’s theories indoctrinated teachers in teachers colleges, his notions made their way into public schools, especially where low-income and minority kids can be taught what is colloquially called Oppression Studies. It is easy to find schools that specialize in “social-justice teaching” in Los Angeles, New York, Philadelphia, and other big cities.

The Social Justice High School in Chicago has a 100% Hispanic or black student body. The principal admits that the lessons taught there are often “atypical,” such as teaching the relative likelihood of whites and minorities being pulled over by police.

Howard Zinn, author of the anti-American People’s History of the United States, which is used as a history textbook in some schools, urges educators to prioritize “social justice” education over political neutrality. In a 1998 interview, he said his goal in writing People’s History was to move us toward “democratic socialism” by a “quiet revolution.” Zinn cites Germany, France and Scandinavia for the United States to use as models.

This “social justice” curriculum results in a heavy cost in time not spent on the basics. Young Americans who are exposed to these radical leftwing ideas generally have no background information to help evaluate bias and errors.

The lobbyists for “social-justice teaching” and “critical pedagogy” sponsor conferences to mold the thinking of teachers, which are well attended at taxpayers’ expense. Teachers 4 Social Justice attracted 1,000 educators to an October 2008 seminar in Berkeley, California.

The National Association for Multicultural Education (NAME) sponsors seminars with sessions entitled “Our Work as Social Justice Educators,” Teaching for Social Justice in Elementary Schools,” “DISMANTLING WHITE PRIVILEGE AND SUPPORTING ANTI-RACIST EDUCATION IN OUR CLASSROOMS AND SCHOOLS,” “TALKING ABOUT RELIGIOUS OPPRESSION AND CHRISTIAN PRIVILEGE,” and “Creating Change Agents Who Teach for Social Justice.”

School boards and principals allocate large amounts of money for teachers to receive this type of so-called “professional development.” Registration for NAME’s November 2008 conference in New Orleans cost $375 per NAME member or $475 per non-member, in addition to airfare and hotel expense.

Lesson plans are available from a 30-year-old magazine called “Radical Teacher,” which was founded as “a socialist, feminist, and anti-racist journal on the theory and practice of teaching.”

Education schools are lining up behind “social justice” teaching and forcing it on aspiring teachers so they will possess politically correct liberal attitudes and character traits. At Humboldt State University in northern California, Professor Gayle Olson-Raymer teaches the social studies methods class, which is required for prospective high school history and social studies teachers. Her syllabus states: “IT IS NOT AN OPTION FOR HISTORY TEACHERS TO TEACH SOCIAL JUSTIVE AND SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY, IT IS A MANDATE.”

When a teacher engages in this type of advocacy in lieu of teaching literature, math, or science, the TEACHER IS ENGAGING IN POLITICAL INDOCTRINATION.

Some “social justice” professional development seminars have urged teachers to begin inculcating “correct” sociopolitical attitudes in children as young as age two because it is so easy to impose their views on children who enter school at such a young age.PROFESSOR AYERS DECLINED TO BE INTERVIEWED FOR THE EDUCATION WEEK article. His comments were unnecessary since the article was generally favorable to “social-justice teaching” and dismissive of its critics.

Immediately following the discovery of the controversial clause in the several hundred page document, Sen. Jim DeMint (R-S.C.) put forward an amendment that would have invalidated the discriminatory language but the amendment failed Thursday in a 54-43. NOW WHO DO THINK VOTED TO KEEP THE DISCRIMINATORY LANGUAGE? YES, THE CATHOLIC-LABEL DEMOCRATIC SENATORS. }

There is no doubt that having Catholic Senator Joe Biden running as Vice-President helped to reach the 54% Catholic vote for Obama. It is interesting to note that pro-choice Biden voted for embryonic stem cell research while Palin a baptized Catholic of 44 years ago, and now a Pentecostal vote against it.

Let’s check the CINOP organizations that operated during the presidential elections in 2008. As noted in the December 2008 issue of the Mindszenty Report. “A Sign of Contradiction: The 2008 Election and the Catholic Church in America.”

Similar groups (Like Catholics for Obama), including, Catholics United, Catholics in Alliance for the Common Good, Catholic Democrats , Roman Catholics for Obama-Biden ’08, targeted Catholics who were susceptible to their humanistic message on Catholic social teachings from war to the preferential options for the poor .

A Colorado group, Catholics for Obama, protested their clerics use of the bully pulpit to convince them to act like authentic Catholics by voting against Obama. They pointed out that fighting poverty, fixing health care and ending the war also mattered. THE SEAMLESS GARMENT IS STILL EFFECTIVE IN LURING LARGE THRONGS OF CATHOLICS TO VOTE FOR PRO-ABORTION CANDIDATES.

In the year 2000, a majority of Catholic voted for Gore and Liebermann. They lost. But in Florida which decided the election, the majority of Catholics in that state voted for Bush. An important factor was the Elian Gonzalez scandal and the work of Priests for Life. Also in that 2000 election, many Catholics wanted to break the religious barrier of a Jewish American running as Vice-President. Lastly we thank the huge majority of the evangelical vote for the Bush victory.

Now going back to the Catholic vote in 2008; there were big majorities in the West and Northeastern part of the country for Obama. However in many states the Catholic vote went for McCain. For example, in Missouri the Catholic vote went to McCain who won that state with a majority of 3 thousand votes. Also in Pennsylvania the majority of Catholics voted for McCain but Pennsylvania was won by Obama. Notice that in these two states the bishops spoke out strongly for pro-life and we have had some positive results. Positive changes we’ll see in 2010.

The stimulus bill is a bonanza. This is George Soros’s dream come true. It’s the shortest way for America to become a second-rate socialist power in the world. That’s part of George’s dream. His millions have paid off.

For eight years, the other left-wing elite democrats who control the Democratic Party have been salivating of what they are going to do when they get power. Before I go any further, there is an abyss between the radical elite and most informed democratic voters. My focus is on the ELITE SECURALISTS. It is like the CINOP and ordinary church-going Catholics. It would be an unforgiving insult to call regular Catholics, the Pelosi or Sanchez types of Catholics.

Now let me go back to the eight years of the elite Democrats salivating. Many sincerely believed that the 2000 election was stolen from them. So the motto was NO COOPERATION WITH PRESIDENT G.W. BUSH IN CONGRESS. Everything must be done to bring W. down. Soros’s Hate-Bush cabal was in full operation. Even if it mean losing the Iraq War; a Democratic victory was a necessity. However, with our victory in Iraq something else needed to happen.

How about something economic like the poor and providing homes for the homeless. The Democrats are expert demagogues with that kind of propaganda. Remember the war on poverty by Lyndon Johnson. It destroyed the African-American family. Well about the 6 weeks before last year’s presidential elections, we had some kind of an economic meltdown. It melted down at the right time.

Sadly, the U.S. mainstream media is to the Democratic Party what “PRAVDA” was to the communist party in the days of Stalin. This is a most dangerous state of affairs in America for the welfare and security of our country. It is the main reason to access talk-radio and the internet for accurate information. Again, anybody who tells you not to listen to talk-radio is an AMERICAN IDIOT.

Recall the remarks of Ron Emmanuel. “You never let a crisis go to waste.”
Ron is the one, along with Senator Schumer who manipulated the pro-life Catholic Democratic voters in 2006 and 2008 to vote for so-called pro-life Democrats and they succeeded. We will deal with Catholic FRONT organizations like Catholics United who were shills for the CINOPS and Obama during the 2008 campaign at another time. George Soros financed the propaganda of Catholics United.

I understand that President Barack Obama will sign the stimulus package tomorrow. Huckabee on TV – 5 P.M. Sat. called it the Congressional Relief Action Package. (C.R.A.P.) Slobbering journalists still haven’t got the guts to have any in-depth probing and questioning interview of our President and who he is. Fasting is as important as ever and it is a “therapy” to heal obstacles to conforming to God’s will, says Pope Benedict XVI. This is a message for Lent, dated Dec. 11th and released today at the Vatican City, Feb. 3, 2009 (Zenith.org).

The liturgy proposes 3 specific practices during Lent: prayer, almsgiving and fasting. This year the Pope will focus on the history and importance of fasting.

Fasting was prominent in both the Old and the New Testaments: “Like Moses, who fasted before receiving the tablets of the Law and Elijah’s fast meeting the Lord on Mount Hored, Jesus, too, through prayer and fasting, prepared himself for the mission that lay before him, marked at the start by a serious battle with the tempter.”

The Pope acknowledges that the meaning of fasting – “depriving ourselves of something that in itself is good and useful for our bodily sustenance” --- might not be immediately clear. But he explained that, “Sacred Scriptures and the entire Christian tradition teach that FASTING IS A GREAT HELP TO AVOID SIN AND ALL THAT LEADS TO IT. For this reason, the history of salvation is replete with occasions that invite fasting…. “Since all of us are weighed down by sin and its consequences, fasting is proposed to us as an instrument to restore friendship with God.

“True fasting … is rather to do the will of the Heavenly Father, who ‘sees in secret, and will reward you,” the papal message notes. “{Christ} himself set the example, answering Satan, at the end of the 40 days spent in the desert that ‘man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’ The true fast is thus directed to eating the ‘true food,’ which is to do the Father’s will….

“Moreover,” the Pope said, “fasting is a practice that is encountered frequently and recommended by the saints of every age.”

Finally, in addition to the personal benefits of fasting, the Holy Father said, the penance also helps to foster solidarity.

“Voluntary fasting enables us to grow in the spirit of the Good Samaritan, who bends low and goes to the help of his suffering brother,” he said. By freely embracing an act of self denial for the sake of another, we make a statement that our brother or sister in need is not a stranger.”

The Bishop of Rome affirmed, “It seems abundantly clear that fasting represents an important ascetical practice, a spiritual arm to do battle against every possible disordered attachment to ourselves.”

David Carlin was watching the Democratic National Convention on TV, for countless hours a week ago, and it was a painful experience for somebody like him, a pro-life Democrat. (Guest Column – Our Sunday Visitor, Aug. 15, 2004.)

My party is hiding its radical anti-Christian agenda behind the mask of old-style-liberalism.

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service should place pro-life Democrats on the endangered-species list…. Our prospects for survival are worse than those of the American bald eagle.

I hate to admit it, but the national Democratic Party is strongly and decidedly pro-abortion, and so are the party’s candidates for president and vice-president, Senators John Kerry (D-Mass.) and John Edwards (D-N.C.)….

To judge from the sentiments expressed on television, You would think the Democratic Party is still the good old party of Franklin Delano Roosevelt, Harry Truman, John Kennedy and Lyndon Johnson- that is pro-labor, pro-racial equality, and strong on national defense. No mention was made that today’s Democratic Party is the party of abortion and increasingly the party of same-sex marriage, and because they believe in a strong national defense. In other words, the Democrats put on the mask because they want to win the election.

{Thankfully, Catholics in 2004 perceived the mask and voted for George Bush- 52% - 48%. In 2008 the Democrats used the mask of Barack Obama and succeeded – 54% to 46% ghk}

Unfortunate, the old Democratic coalition, the one that flourished from about 1932 to 1968, no longer exists. The labor unions and the leading African-American organizations are still Democrats, true.

We continue with an analysis # 3 of “Phyllis Schlafly Report,” V. 42, No. 6, January, 2009. “Social Justice” Code Word for Anti-Americans.”

“Education Week” defines “social-justice teaching” as “teaching kids to question whoever happens to hold the reins of power at a particular moment. It’s about setting yourself not just as a consumer {of information}, but as an actor-critic” in the world around you.

This revealing explanation comes from the words of Bill Bigelow, the curriculum editor of a Milwaukee-based organization called Rethinking Schools, which publishes instructional materials relating to issues of race and equity.

The purpose of Rethinking Schools instructional materials is to teach teachers how to “weave social justice issues throughout the curriculum.” Lessons include “Rethinking Mathematics” Teaching Social Justice by the Numbers,” which shows teachers ways to “weave social justice issues throughout the mathematics curriculum,” and “Reading, Writing, and Rising Up: Teaching About Social Justice and the Power of the Written Word.”

Bigelow assigns students to role-play various oppressed groups in foreign countries. Students can easily infer that Americans are oppressed like people in foreign countries, and most young people have no store of information to see how ridiculous this is.

“Social-justice” lessons concentrate on past mistakes in U.S. history rather than on our many remarkable accomplishments and opportunities. Emphasizing problems and injustices rather than achievements is given the highfalutin label “critical pedagogy.”

“Social-justice teaching” does not mean justice as most Americans understand the term. Those who use the term make clear that it means the United States is an unjust and oppressive society, and that the solution is for community organizers to organize the poor and minorities to demonstrate and to demand political power so that they will be given government handouts.
Indoctrinating Teachers

Education Week identifies the “special interest groups” that promote “social-justice teaching” and provide curricular materials, online resources, and “professional development” (i.e., conferences and seminars to indoctrinate teachers). These groups include an affiliate of the American Educational Research Association, the Cambridge-based Educators for Social Responsibility, and the Washington-based Teaching for Change, in addition to Rethinking Schools.

John Janaro, the associate professor of theology at Christendom College in Front Royal, V. believes the following as written in Praying with Saint Paul, “Daily Reflections on the Letters of Apostle Paul,” Edited by Fr. Peter John Cameron, O.P. Magnificat, 2008.

Saint Paul stresses that the “world rulers” of fallen humanity, of that fallen world we call “darkness,” are “principalities and powers” that are superior (in their nature) to man (“flesh and blood”).

There are the “evil spirits,” those mysterious and but real spiritual intelligences that Scripture calls “angels.” They are fallen angels who refused to serve God “in the beginning” when God created “the heavens.” (Gn 1:1) They are the enemies of the human race, and by leading men into sin, they gained a certain “power” over the fallen world.

This power should be recognized but not exaggerated God rules even the fallen world and, especially since the victory of Christ, he limits the influence of the devil?

However, each of us must recognize that these malevolent beings can and do seek to take advantage of our wounded nature who are evil, intelligent, and ruthless have a hand in the affairs of the world.

This can be seen by looking at historical events, in which it is clear that individuals and groups have surrendered their will to some superior, sinister power, with the result being the perpetration of evil on a monstrous scale.

How else could such inhuman violence and such hatred for human life prevail in our world? God also allows Christians to be tempted; yet always gives us the grace, in Christ, to overcome temptation.

Jesus himself was tempted in the desert and his victory is the basis for our hope. The threat of the Evil One moves us to let Jesus penetrate every aspect of our lives, because whatever the risen and glorified Jesus is recognized and loved, the devil is defeated.

Ayers enrolled in Columbia Teachers College, where he picked up a PH.D., and emerged as a professor of education at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He launched a new career, directing his revolutionary energy into changing classroom curricula instead of setting bombs.

Ayer’s political views are as radical now as they were in the 1970s. “Viva President Chavez!” He exclaimed in a speech in Venezuela in 2006, in which he also declared, “Education is the motor-force of revolution.”

AYERS HAS BEEN ON A DECADES-LONG MISSION TO TRANSFORM EDUCATION INTO ANTI-AMERICAN INDOCTRINATION AND TO GET YOUNG PEOPLE TO DEMAND THAT GOVERNMENT CONTROL THE ECONOMY, POLITICS AND CULTURE. We see the results in the 2008 post-election surveys: 7 out of 10 voters between the ages of 18 and 29 now favor expanding the role of government, and agree that the government should do more to solve the nation’s problems. It’s obvious which party and which candidate will get their vote. …
One might assume that Ayers’s peculiar resume would put him on the outer fringe of the leftwing education establishment. However, Ayers developed quite a following as he taught resentment against America. In 2008 he was elected by his peers as vice president for curriculum of the American Education Research Association, the nation’s largest organization of education professors and researchers. WHAT IS ‘SOCIAL JUSTICE’ TEACHING?

From his post as Professor of Education, William Ayers became a leading advocate of “social justice” teaching, i.e. GETTING STUDENTS TO BELIEVE THAT THEY ARE VICTIMS OF AN UNJUST, OPPRESSIVE AND RACIST AMERICA. After a few years of this indoctrination, young people are ripe targets for community organizers to mobilize them to vote and carry out “revolution.”

The National Association of Scholars reports that the term “social justice” is today understood to mean “the advocacy of more egalitarian access to income through state-sponsored redistribution.” That is academic verbiage for Barack Obama’s assertion that he want to “spread the wealth around.”

David Horowitz of the California-based D.H. Freedom Center is more blunt. He says that “social justice” teaching is ‘shorthand for opposition to American traditions of individual justice and free-market economics.” He says it teaches students that “American society is an inherently ‘oppressive’ society that is ‘systemically’ racist, ‘sexist,’ and ‘classist’ and thus discriminates institutionally against women, nonwhites, working Americans, and the poor.”

On October 29, 2008, the pro-public-school-establishment journal Education Week featured a long front-page article describing “social-justice teaching.” This article provides ample evidence that “social-justice teaching” should be a major concern to everyone who cares what the next generation is taught with taxpayers’ money.

‘Social Justice’: Code Word for Anti-Americanism

Why did 18-to-29 year-old evangelicals vote for Barack Obama despite his apostasy on the fundamental moral issues of abortion and same-sex marriage? They voted 32% for Obama, twice the percentage of that demographic group who voted for John Kerry in 2004.

Many of these young people identify “social justice” as the reason that led them to relegate the prime moral issues of life and marriage to the back burner. But the term “social justice” does not define a moral cause; it is leftwing jargon to overturn those who have economic and political power.

What caused young evangelicals, the children of so-called “religious right,” to change their moral imperatives so dramatically? Most likely it’s the attitudes and decision-making they learned in the public schools, which 89% of the U.S. students attend.

The vast influence of the so-called “father of modern education,” John Dewey, had already spread disdain for objective truth and authoritative notions of good and evil. A socialist and signer of the Humanist Manifesto. Dewey viewed education as a process of socializing the child; rather than educating him to achieve his individual potential.

In the 1970s, Sidney Simon’s best-seller Values Clarification taught students to cast off their parents’ values and make their own choices, often aided by Kinsey-trained sexperts determined to change our sexual mores.

In 1983, Humanist Magazine featured an article that boasted: “The battle for mankind’s future must be waged and won in the public school classroom. The classroom. The classroom must and win become the arena of conflict between the old and the new, THE ROTTING CORPSE OF CHRISTIANITY AND NEW FAITH OF HUMANISM.” In the 1980s, many radical anti-war activists of the 1960s and 1970s acquired a new identity and became tenured college professors. Among them was WILLIAM AYERS, a founder of the infamous Weather Underground, the organization that set bombs in public buildings such as the U.S. Capitol and the Pentagon.

Ayers escaped prosecution only because of government misconduct in collecting evidence against him. Ayers later boasted: “Guilty as hell. Free as a bird.” In a remarkable coincidence, Ayers was quoted in the “New York Times” on the morning of 9/11 as saying, “I don’t regret setting bombs. I feel we didn’t do enough.” Later that week, Ayers was quoted in the “New York Times” as saying “This society is not a just and fair and decent place.” To be continued

Archbishop Burke called “nonsense” the accusation, regularly made by some bishops, that refusing Holy Communion “makes the communion rail a {political} battle ground”. In fact, he says, the precise opposite is true. The politician who insists on being seen receiving Holy Communion, despite his opposition to the Church’s central teachings, is using that reception for political leverage.

In 2004, when self-proclaimed Catholic and candidate for the Democratic party, Sen. John Kerry, was frequently photographed receiving Holy Communion despite his vigorous support of abortion, the US Bishops Conference issued a document which said only that it is up to individual bishops whether to implement the Church’s code of Canon Law and refuse Communion. The issue has remained prominent with the appointment of Joe Biden, another pro-abortion Catholic politician, as Vice President of the United States of America.

Archbishop Burke recalled previous experiences with Kerry, pointing to the several occasions when the Senator was pictured in Time magazine receiving Communion from Papal representatives at various public events. Burke said it is clear that Kerry was using his reception of Holy Communion to send a message.

“He wants to not only receive Holy Communion from a bishop but from the papal representative. I think that’s what his point was. GET IT IN “TIME” MAGAZINE, SO PEOPLE READ IT AND SAY TO THEMSELVES. ‘HE MUST BE IN GOOD STANDING.’

“WHAT ARE THEY DOING? THEY’RE USING THE EUCHARIST AS POLITICAL TOOL.”

In refusing, far from politicizing the Eucharist, the Church is returning the matter to its religious reality. The most important reasons to refuse, he said, are pastoral and religious in nature.

“The Holy Eucharist, the most sacred reality of our life in the Church, has to be protected against sacrilege. At the same time, individuals have to be protected for the sake of their own salvation from committing one of the gravest sins, namely to receive Holy Communion unworthily.”

Archbishop Burke also dismissed the commonly proffered excuse that such politicians need more “education”…. “I’ve always found that they don’t come forward.”…
He said the issue has been debated enough. He rejected the idea that the matter should be left to the USCCB, saying the conference has NO AUTHORITY IN THE MATTER. “This is a law of the universal Church and it should be applied.”

“I think this argument too is being used by people who don’t want to confront the issue, this whole ‘wait ‘til the Conference decides’ … well the Conference has been discussing this since at least 2004. And nothing happens.”

When asked what the solution was, he responded, “Individual bishops and priests simply have to do their duty. They have to confront politicians, Catholic politicians gravely and publicly in this regard. And that’s their duty. And if they carry it out, not only can they not be reproached for that, but they should be praised for confronting this situation.”

Why did 54% of the Catholics vote for President Barack Obama in 2008?
Always look at the big historical picture. Electing any president is a judgment on America and the people who voted for him. Take for example the George W. Bush presidency. In 2004 Bush received 52% of the Catholic vote. In matters of life, marriage and family, the country was blessed. The hate-bush crowd hated Bush on the war and other issues but believe me they hated Bush more because he is a practicing Christian and stands for traditional American values. And that is a badge of honor for Bush and for the pro-life movement.

There is one explanation for the Obama’s Catholic vote. It was a vote to break the racial barrier for the presidency. The economy was a second consideration. Barack had charisma, great oratorical skills and a message of hope. At the same time Obama was the most inexperienced person ever elected to the Presidency. Several of his recent appointments are horrible. His judgment and decision-making are on the line.

For example, the despicable information on the Freedom of Choice Act has been a great education for all Americans especially Catholics and other Christians. On life issues, Obama seems to speak for about 9% of the nation who want no restrictions on abortions like Planned Parenthood, NARAL, ACLU, etc.

80% of the country wants to have some kind of restrictions on abortion. HAVE YOU NOTICED THAT OBAMA’S POPULARITY IN THIS AREA TODAY IS ONLY 35 %? Christians can learn and change a negative into a positive. So when the culture of death advocates says that abortion does not matter, it does. The Obama presidency will be an education for Catholics and all Americans in all fields; religious, social, political etc. We have elected an American socialist who wants to promote a secular America. There will be openings on the Supreme Court and the mindset of Obama’s allies is same-sex marriage etc. for America.

In the past, Catholics have been swing voters and have decided most presidential elections. Our blog CINOPS BE GONE sought to persuade CATHOLICS to vote out of office Catholic-in-name-only politicians. While this did not happen in 2008, we will succeed a lot sooner than later. Pro-life is going to rule the day in the 2010 elections. We will fulfill the goal of Blessed John Paul II for a “new evangelization” this “teaching and preaching” apostolate. It will solve the Catholic fraud-politician scandal of receiving Holy Communion.

While only one-third of the bishops spoke out publicly on life issues in the 2008 election, more will speak out in future elections. This is a common sense religious educational approach. While we may quibble about someone who is pro-choice, LET’S GET REAL. We are talking about a political party that the CINOP is a part off. It is a party of pro-abortion on demand, pro same-sex marriage, pro-assisted-suicide, pro-euthanasia, and pro-embryonic stem-cell research. These are five (5) intrinsic and absolute evils.

This afternoon I was praying about a number of things, and my mind began to wander. I was deeply distressed at the symbolic actions that President Obama took as he began his presidency. Namely, that he signed executive orders releasing funds to pay for abortions, permission to fund human stem cell research, and federal funding for contraception. I have been involved in the pro-life movement for nearly 20 years, and it pained my heart to see a man and a political party committed to the shedding of innocent blood. This man, and this party lead our country, but they do not represent me or the 54% of Americans who believe that abortion is wrong and should no longer be legal.

As I was praying, I believe that God gave me an interesting idea. Out in the garage I have a box of red envelopes. Like the powerful image of the red LIFE tape, an empty red envelope will send a message to Barack Obama that there is moral outrage in this country over this issue. It will be quiet, but clear.

Excerpts from Peter Kreeft, Ph.D. How to NOT to Win the Culture War “Envoy Magazine,” V. 8.3.

First of all, politicization: We have persuaded Americans to treat their religion as a kind of politics and their politics as a kind of religion. In the People’s Republic of Massachusetts, the Catholic Church used to be known as the Democratic Party at prayer.

The second Principle is Happytalk: Let them always talk up the achievements, the successes, the progress that the Church has made in last forty years. Insist that they insist that the Church in America is healthy even though the statistics are devastating.

The Third principle is Organizationalism: The Church must be seen as an organization, not an organism; an earthly business, not a supernatural mystery. They must all be persuaded to be Marthas, not Mary; to worry about organizations, programs, committees, various activisms, numbers, and of course success. They must come to reverse Mother Teresa’s most famous maxim about God not putting them into this world to be successful but to be faithful.

The fourth Principle I call Neo-worship, the worship of the new, the fashionable. Let them substitute “new” for “true” and tell the truth with the clock. After all, “What’s new?” is easily answered by the holy writ of their newspapers, while Pilate’s question, “What is true?” can trail off safely into skeptical space – even when it literally is addressed to the face of Truth Himself standing right there in front of him!

Fifth, have them believe that Egalitarianism is the highest wisdom everywhere, even regarding the thing they are the most passionate about, sex. The Enemy invented this dangerous thing, of course, and made men and women superior and inferior to each other: men superior to women at being men and women superior to men at being women.

A sixth principle is Yuppiedom, or hedonism. Make them all shoppers instead of saints: soft, spoiled, self-indulgent consumerists utterly addicted to the comforts of this world and utterly unwilling and, eventually unable, to practice sacrifice and embrace suffering. In other words, continue to undermine the one virtue that is absolutely necessary to practice any other virtue at all, namely courage. Give them Christ without the Cross.

Seventh, be sure they are less Catholic and more Protestant than Protestants; that they spiritualize and psychologize everything, even the Sacraments, even the Incarnation and Resurrection. Keep them on the road to Gnosticism, the worship of spirituality instead of God. Spirituality is our religion after all… Don’t let them be moral absolutists. Persuade them that the worse thing in the world is not sin or damnation but fanaticism. Let that be the new F – word. Don’t let them remember that all the saints in history were moral absolutists.

President Bush appointed two justices to the U.S. Supreme Court, Chief Justice John Roberts and Justice Samuel Alito. In 2007 both justices voted to uphold the federal Partial-Birth Abortion Ban Act.

In 2003, President Bush signed into law the Partial-Birth Abortion Ban Act. When legal challenges were filed to the law, his Administration successfully defended the law and it was upheld by the U.S. Supreme Court.
President Bush also signed into law several other crucial pro-life measures, including the Unborn Victims of Violence Act, which recognizes unborn children as victims of violent federal crimes, the Born Alive Infants Protection Act, which affords babies who survive abortions the same legal protections as babies who are spontaneously born prematurely, and legislation to prevent health care providers from being penalized by the federal, state, or local governments for not providing abortions.

In 2007, President Bush sent congressional Democratic leaders letters in which he said that he would veto any bill that weakened any existing pro-life policy. This stance prevented successful attacks on the Hyde Amendment and many other pro-life laws during 2007 and 2008.
The Administration issued a regulation recognizing an unborn child as a “child” eligible for health services under the State Children’s Health Insurance Program (CSHIP).

In 2001, President Bush declared that federal funds could not be used for the type of stem cell research that requires the destruction of human embryos. He used his veto twice to prevent enactment of bills that would have overturned this pro-life policy. The types of adult stem cell research that the President promoted, which do not require the killing of human embryos, realized major breakthroughs during his administration.
The Bush Administration played a key role in the United Nations, in adoption by the UN General Assembly of the historic UN declaration calling on member nations to ban all forms of human cloning (2005), and in including language in the Convention (Treaty) on the rights of Persons with Disabilities, which protects persons with disabilities from being denied food, water and medical care (2006).

President Bush strongly advocated a complete ban on human cloning, and helped defeat “clone and kill” legislation.

President Bush restored and enforced the “Mexico City Policy,” which prevents tax refunds from being given to organizations that perform or promote abortion overseas. The President’s veto threats blocked congressional attempts to overturn this policy. The Administration also cut off funding for the United Nations Population Fund, due to that agency’s involvement in China’s compulsory-abortion programs.

Wisdom 101 – Fear of the Lord

Today is another classic meditation from Pope Benedict XVI’s Co-Workers of the Truth, Ignatius Press, San Francisco, 1992. Pp.47-8

For a long time now I have frequently pondered the meaning of the recurrent biblical adage: “Fear of God is the beginning of Wisdom”, and for a long time I found it very difficult to penetrate its meaning.

But now, by approaching it from the opposite side, I begin to understand it so clearly that I could almost touch it with my hands. For what is increasingly taking place before our eyes: can be summarized in the words: THE FEAR OF MEN, THAT IS, THE ABSENCE OF THE FEAR OF GOD, IS THE BEGINNING OF ALL FOOLISHNESS.

Today, since the image of God has been subjugated to the laws of advertising, fear of God has all but disappeared from the catalogue of virtues. If he has to have advertising appeal, God must be so graphically depicted in exactly the opposite way that no none can possibly find any reason to fear him.

That would be the last quality that would appear in our representations of him. In this way, that reversal of values was the real sickness of pre-Christian religious history spreads more and more throughout our society and even in the midst of the Church.

For even in ancient times there was a widespread belief that one did not have to fear the good God, the real God, because from him, since he was good, only good was to be expected.

There was no need to worry about the good God; the evil powers were the ones to fear. Only they were dangerous; consequently one must do all in one’s power to win their favor.

In this maxim we can see that the service of idols is an apostasy from the service of God. But we are surrounded by this idolatory. The good God does us no harm; we need offer him no more than a kind of primitive trust. But there are all too many dangerous powers around us with whom we must try to come to terms.

And that is what people – high and low – are trying to do both inside and outside the Church, no longer with eyes fixed on God and his standards, which, after all, are unimportant, but with eyes on the human powers if they want to be even halfway happy in this world.

They no longer strive for what is, for the truth, but for appearances – what people think of them and how they describe them.

The dictatorship of appearance is the idolatry of our age; it appears also in the Church. The fear of men is the beginning of all foolishness, but the fear of men rules uncontested where the fear of God is absent.

The Archbishop has sent a message of support from Rome to those in the U.S. who defend human life and the traditional family. He told them not to give up the fight; even things may seem dire with the election of Barack Obama. He particular urged pro-life people to continue the political and legal battle against the 1973 US Supreme Court decision, Roe vs. Wade that legalized abortion.

“We are in a very dark period for the pro-life movement, which means that now we have to re-double all of our efforts,” he said.
The new president, Archbishop Burke said, must hear from the American people “who I believe are, in the end, pro-life above everything else.” But the time has come, with the election of the man who is being called by pro-life advocates the “most pro-abortion president” in US history, to announce clearly and firmly the message of the sanctity of life and family more than at any other time.

“THERE CAN NEVER BE ANY LET-UP ON THE EFFORT TO OVERTURN ROE VERSUS WADE,” HE SAID, “BECAUSE THERE IS, AT ITS DEEPEST CORE, OUR MOST UNJUST JUDICIAL DECISION, IT HAS TO BE OVERTURNED.”

He agreed that people of good will could work with the Obama administration to provide improved services to the women in crisis pregnancies and pointed out that the Catholic Church has “above all, been in the forefront of that.” But, he said, “that can never exempt us from the duty” to overturn Roe vs. Wade.
“It’s going to depend upon the pro-life movement to make that voice heard, and to get people to express to the president their dismay with what he’s doing, so that he understands that the people of the United States are not for the murder of infants in the womb.”

He told LifeSiteNews.com Jan. 30/09 that he is becoming “very concerned” at the number of people who have written to him to say that the election of Obama is a sing that the pro-life movement has definitely failed to overturn Roe vs. Wade. He particularly denounced the idea, put forward by some in the pro-life movement in the U.S. that the time has come to abandon the fight against Roe and turn exclusively to “education” and to cooperate with the new administration in “reducing abortions” by improving welfare and health services for women.

Archbishop Burke responded, saying, “TO ME THIS IS A FORM OF SELF-DELUSION BECAUSE THE LAW ITSELF IS ONE THE PRINCIPLE TEACHERS IN ANY CULTURE, AND YOU HAVE A LAW, A DECISION OF THE SUPREME COURT OF YOUR COUNTRY, WHICH SAYS, IN EFFECT, THAT AN INFANT IN THE WOMB CAN BE DESTROYED RIGHT UP TO THE TIME OF BIRTH AND EVEN IN THE ACT OF BIRTH.

Until Roe vs. Wade is overturned, he said, “that law remains a teacher in the culture and represents a direction given to the life of the society, of the nation.

“So, I’m very concerned that some of the dedicated pro-life people don’t fall prey to this false reasoning, and then NOT continue their work for the repeal of Roe v. Wade.”
