Obama's Socialist Playbook - 1 of 2

Obama’s Socialist Playbook – 1 of 2
In pursuit of the truth – www.cinopsbegone.com – Thursday, May 28, 2009

Prologue: Stop with the assertions, I was told, give us the facts. Well, Richard Stegemeier wrote the following awesome factual article in the Orange County Register, Tuesday, May 10, 2009 in the “The Orange Grove.” - From Chrysler bankruptcy to Souter replacement, he pushes left.

{But wait, how did we get into this mess? I have a one assertion. It’s called the magic P.P. Obama oratory. THERE WAS NEVER, NEVER AN IN-DEPTH STUDY AND INTERVIEW BY ANY JOURNALIST OF OBAMA PRIOR TO HIS ELECTION TO THE PRESIDENCY. WHO ARE YOU? SADLY, WE ARE FINDING OUT EACH DAY.}

The Article by Richard Stegemeier

A few years ago many Democrats bristled when labeled as “left-wing liberals,” preferring the term “progressives.” There were “far-right conservatives” but, unlike chickens, politics didn’t seem to have a left wing.
NOW, MANY DEMOCRATS PROUDLY WEAR THE “LIBERAL” LABEL BUT BRISTLE AT THE TERM “SOCIALIST.” I WONDER WHY THEY DO.

During the presidential campaign, Sen. Barack Obama ridiculed Republican vice-presidential nominee, Gov. Sarah Palin because she said that his platform was socialist. It would be a slander to accuse President Obama of being a card-carrying socialist but that’s not the point. One can be an avid University of Notre Dame football fan (or its commencement speaker) without ever being having touched a football or been a Roman Catholic or an alumnus of the school.

Most Americans know very little about socialism but nevertheless renounce it as an alien economic system incompatible with our free enterprise society. But that conviction is changing. The president’s promise of change and the bankruptcy of Chrysler have all the features of a sudden lurch toward socialism.

American investors are genuinely concerned that the secured legal rights of Chrysler’s bondholders have been subordinated to all the other stakeholders in clear violation of more than a century of bankruptcy law.

During Obama’s first 100 days in office, the government has begun to nationalize banks, financial institutions, insurance companies and automakers. Nationalized health care is just around the corner. The president insists that he doesn’t want to run the banks or auto companies but it will be hard for Humpty Dumpy to unscramble that omelet. {Also, check the fable, THE PIED PIPER}

One needs only to read the platform of the American Socialist Party and its promotion of class warfare to see where we’re headed. To name just a few, that party’s goals are: the centralization of credit in the hands of a national bank; national health care; public housing; government control of energy; elimination of nuclear power and fossil fuels; government of communication and transportation; a heavy, progressive income tax; abolition of the rights of inheritance; taxation of foreign earned income, elimination of the secret ballot in union elections, legal abortion on demand at no cost and for any reason; condemnation of preparations for war that diverts from social projects; and elimination of the distortion of personal life under capitalism….

Memorial Day Mas; and A Prayer for America

Memorial Day Mass; and A Prayer for America
Monday, May 25, 2009

On this Memorial Day as we honor our dead, especially those who gave their lives that we might live in peace, let us be ever mindful of the magnitude of their sacrifice, for who can give more than this life as proof of love for his brother.

While Old Glory silently stands guard over their holy resting place, let us offer our gratitude and pray that we may prove worthy of the sacrifice they made.

Let us promise to dedicate ourselves to the preservation of peace and freedom for which they so gallantly fought and died.
Cardinal Roger Mahony, Archbishop of Los Angeles

Memorial Day Mass: May 25, 2009 + 10 A.M.
All Souls Cemetery, Long Beach, California
Celebrant: Most Reverend Edward Wm. Clark, D.D., S.T.D. V.G. Auxiliary Bishop

Holy Gospel according to John – Jn 17, 24-26

Raising his eyes to heaven, Jesus prayed and said: “Father, all those you gave me I would have in my company where I am, to see this glory of mine which is your gift to me, because of the love you bore for me before the world began.

Just Father, the world has not known you,
but I have known you; and these men have
known that you sent me. To them I have
revealed you name, and I will continue to
reveal it so that your love for me may live in
them, and I may live in them.”
++++++++++++
A Prayer for America: Pastor Joe Wright before the State House in Topeka, Kansas:

Heavenly Father, we come before You to ask forgiveness and seek Your direction and guidance. We know Your Word says, “Woe to those who call evil good,” but that is exactly what we have done. We have lost our spiritual equilibrium and inverted our values. We confess that:

We have ridiculed the absolute truth of Your Word and called it moral pluralism;
We have worshipped other gods and called it multiculturalism:

We have endorsed perversion and called alternative lifestyle;
We have exploited the poor and called it the lottery;

We have neglected the needy and called it self-preservation;
We have rewarded laziness and called it welfare;

We have killed our unborn and called it choice;
We have shot abortionists and called it justifiable;

We have neglected to discipline our children and called it building esteem;
We have abused power and called political savvy;

We have coveted our neighbors’ possessions and called it ambition;
We have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and called it freedom of expression;

We ridiculed the time-honored values of our forefathers and called enlightenment

Search God, and know our hearts today’ try us and see if there be some wicked way in us; cleanse from every sin and set us free. I ask it in the name of your Son, the Living Savior, Jesus Christ, Amen.

Pro-Life and Social Justice Advocates - 1

Pro-Life and Social Justice Advocates – 1
In pursuit of the truth – cinops be gone – The Ascension – Sunday, May 24, 2009

Prologue:

From a sermon by St. Augustine, bishop – Today our Lord Jesus Christ ascended into heaven; let our hearts ascend with him.

From the letter of the apostle Paul to the Ephesians: 4: 1-24 – I plead with you, as a prisoner for the Lord, to live a life worthy of the calling you have received, with perfect humility, meekness, and patience, … Make every effort to preserve the unity which has the Sprit as its origin and peace as its binding force.
… You must put on a new man created in God’s image, whose justice and holiness are born of truth.

The Focus: Pro-life and social justice advocates, how can we bring you together when it comes to voting? You have both very strong positions for your vote. This is the first in a series of letters of information and persuasion. (Let us celebrate tomorrow Memorial Day; Flag Day which on June 14th, and July 4th and 5th with special remembrances and prayers.)

Let us call to mind the great victory that occurred this month May 7-10th when the new Gallup Poll proclaimed us a pro-life nation. Thank you Americans! You telephoned Congress and the President. You also talked to your neighbors and sent millions of FOCA postcards to Washington and the red envelope letters.

The vote was 51% pro-life America; versus 42% pro-choice America. With God’s help and grace we changed last year’s poll of 50% pro-choice and only 44% pro-life. THIS IS A GREAT VICTORY! President Barack Obama is on the wrong side of American history for he is pro-choice. Sadly, all of the President’s appointees are Planned Parenthood, NARAL, and ACLU advocates of pro-choice.

Thank you President Obama, for directly and indirectly by your words and deeds, you EDUCATED so many Americans to become pro-life. Your presidency is an LESSON for all Americans. You will help us return to America’s foundational principles of life, family and marriage. We love our Constitution, our Bill of Rights, and the Beliefs of our Founding Fathers.

America will hold steadfast to “Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.”
President Obama’s version of “Liberty, Equality and Fraternity” is foreign to us. That is all about France and Europe. We don’t ever want to be Europeans. We are Americans. We recognize our President as an elitist, professorial and legal type.

Nevertheless, I must congratulate the President on the talk he gave at Notre Dame. It was a masterpiece of persuasion and propaganda for his secular agenda. It gave a cover, a rationalization, not only for Catholic-in-name-only politicians and professors but also a raison d’etre for all to vote again for Obama in 2012. It must be challenged from a traditional American and Christian perspective with truth.

Others have already dialogued on this talk. I will try to do it. Transcript of this speech via - http://www.latimes.com /news/nation/chi-barack-obama-notre-dame-speech, O…

An Eyewitness Account from Notre Dame

An Eyewitness Account from Notre Dame
In pursuit of the truth – www.cinopsbegone.com – Saturday, May 23, 2009

South Bend (Catholic OnlIne) – 5/20/2009 by Rick Copenhaver

Father Corapi spoke to a St. Pius group Saturday night in Granger, IN. This was the first time out in two years. He came to support Bishop D’Arcy who Corapi described as tired and worn out from the battle.

Father Corapi said this fight for life has serious consequences. In his deep authoritative commanding voice he said, “Outside this Church is a police car and inside this Church are two armed policemen and along with that I have body guards. Why? People want to kill me for my stance against. Abortion.”

He paused and looked at the crowd and in a deep voice said, “I would be happy to take a bullet if it saves just one life. We have to have a backbone in this fight for life.

Sunday, Notre Dame Campus:
Outside the main gate to campus: Alan Keyes was let out of jail. I listened to him debate another pro-lifer on a street corner. The other pro-lifer said to Keyes his ways of protest were drawing too much negative press. Keyes responded, “This is a civil rights Issue.”

He said, “My hero Dr. Martin Luther King had just tried to be quiet we wouldn’t have a black president today. He said in a raised passionate voice.” The same names the people were calling King are the names people are calling me today. This is a war for the life of babies that we must be passionate about.”

I’ll be absolutely frank, it was clear this was a satanic war. Outside the gates of the university! There were nearly 1200 protesters. Not the 350 the press reported. There were marked police cars every quarter of a mile.

The police tailed one of the pro-life trucks plastered with aborted baby pictures wherever it went. I couldn’t make a move without a police car. Pro Obama people were thee taunting protesters telling a woman she was a b**** and were f**** racist pigs if they didn’t like Obama. I am certain if Obama knew this he too would have been sad….

Mixed in with the pro-lifers was a group of about 10 with shabby looking brown cardboard signs. They looked like skin heads. On their signs were the words, “stop abortion now” on the last line was, “except for blacks.” They had an eerie evil smile to them. Why was Alan Keyes arrested but these people were left alone?
On the campus it was peaceful. It was such a contrast to what was going on at the gates.

At the “counter graduation”, after the talks, another 1,000 people all knelt down in the soft grass to say the Rosary. The seniors and invited guests went to the Grotto to say the rosary with Father Pavone. There were 300 hundred there. The grotto rosary was broadcast over a PA system on closed circuit TV. How lovely. After going through the evilness it was so wonderful to kneel to pray the most powerful prayer….

You cannot sit on the side lines:

Father Corapi said we are coming to a time that we will be persecuted for going to Mass. We better start building our spiritual muscles now.

Notre Dame and President Obama

Notre Dame and President Obama
In pursuit of the truth – www.cinopsbegone.com – Friday, May 22, 2009

The following are excerpts from Significant Reports on the Obama Speech at Notre Dame by Steve Jalsevac, May 19, 2009 (LifeSiteNews.com) – You decide.

Obama’s Notre Dame Speech Tried to Redefine U.S. Catholicism - George Weigel

George Weigel charged that Obama has inserted himself into intra-Catholic disputes by trying to define who a “real Catholic” is. He warned the president risks assuming the headship of the dissident wing of U.S. Catholicism, pitting Catholic intellectuals and institutions against their bishops.

Weigel writing in a Monday essay for National Review Online, said it was “surprising” and “disturbing” that President Obama decided to “insert himself” into “the ongoing debate over the boundaries of Catholic identity and the applicability of settled Catholic convention in the public square.”

Weigel compared the effort to the historical phenomenon of “Gallicanism,” the French bishops past efforts to establish a church generally independent of papal authority.

“This is a very serious business with the president of the United States putting himself in charge of the Gallican wing of the Catholic Church in the United States – the difference being that this new Gallicanism isn’t local bishops vs. Rome but intellectuals and their institutions and magazines vs. local bishops and Rome,” Weigel told CNA.

Weigel said the “politically savy” White House and its allies among Catholic progressive intellectuals may have intended to secure Obama’s political advantage among Catholic voters with his appearance at Notre Dame.

The Catholic commentator also argued that the president indirectly presented himself as a more significant authority than the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, who had “explicitly and unambiguously” instructed Catholic institutions not to honor pro-abortions rights politicians.

President Obama put forward the late Archbishop of Chicago Cardinal Bernardin as the model for being “congenial and gentle” and for “always trying to bring people together.” Weigel said Cardinal Bernardin’s “seamless garment” approach to public policy ended up helping Catholic politicians and laymen dodge moral objections to their support for a permissive abortion regime.

According to Weigel, the U.S. bishops abandoned the “seamless garment” metaphor” in 1998 to better emphasize the foundational nature of the life issues. He also suggested that President Obama’s praise for Cardinal Bernardin was an implicit criticism of contemporary bishops who are pro-life, like present Archbishop of Chicago Cardinal Francis George. http://www.catholicnewsagency.com/new.php?n=16048

Catholics in Congress: The Ongoing Scandal by Deal W, Hudson

The scandal of President Barack Obama receiving an honorary degree at Notre Dame yesterday pales in comparison with the ongoing scandal of Catholics in Congress. Of the 161 Catholics presently serving, only 26 have 100 percent pro-life voting records, while 28 have a zero percent rating. 65 have less than 20 per cent pro-life rating and 75 have accepted donations from pro-abortion lobbies.

St. Paul via the Eyes of Pope Benedict

St. Paul via the Eyes of Pope Benedict
In pursuit of the truth – www.cinopsbegone.com – Thursday, May 21, 2009

St. Paul is a guiding lighthouse for all graduates of Colleges and High Schools:

(St. Paul, by Msgr. A. Baker – Lay Witness – May-June 2009) “Who was St. Paul? As a master teacher, Benedict does not just leave the question open and unanswered. He personally responds to it, and he invites the faithful to listen closely to St. Paul and learn from him as “our teacher, an Apostle and herald of Jesus Christ for us too.”

“He is an Apostle and herald of Jesus Christ for us too.” He is an Apostle who “shines like a star of the brightest magnitude in the Church’s history,” says the Pope. In coming to know Paul, the Church learns about what it means to be a true disciple of Christ. Thus, the goal of the Pauline Year (June 28, 2009 to June 28, 2009) is “to learn from St. Paul, to learn faith, to learn Christ and finally to learn the way of upright living.” Theme 1 – An Encounter with Christ:

“In his letter to the Galatians, St. Paul speaks in very personal terms about his faith in Christ, admitting that “I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me” (Gal. 2:20). He did not think of Christ in merely historical terms, as though Christ were someone of the past. The Pope says that for Paul, “Jesus is alive now; he speaks to us now and lives for us.”

“Paul’s encounter with Christ on the road to Damascus, the road which was leading to the persecution of the Church, suddenly and dramatically changed his life. … the Pope says, “literally revolutionized his life. Christ becomes his raison d’etre and the profound motivation of all his apostolic work.”

“Paul’s encounter with Christ was an identity-changing event. It may have been the motivation for changing his name from Saul to Paul. It also meant a profound change in what Paul thought was most important in his life and even what a manifestation of his zealous faith…was. Saul of Tarsus, who attacked the first Christians, becomes Paul the Apostle, who evangelizes the Gentiles. The persecutor becomes the proclaimer….

“In reflecting on Paul’s meeting with Jesus, Pope Benedict comments that we must also reflect on the deep effect Jesus Christ can have “also on our own lives.” An encounter with Christ contains the transformative power of conversion not just for Paul, but also for each one of those who believe in the Lord. …

“Similar to St. Paul, an encounter with Christ changes us. The Holy Father explains: “What counts is to place Jesus Christ at the center of our lives, so that our identity is marked essentially by the encounter, by communion with Christ and with his Word. In his light every other value is recovered and purified from possible dross.”... Theme 2 – An Encounter with the Church

“The Pope points out, “one usually reaches Jesus by passing through the Church.” This was true for St. Paul, who initially encountered the Church by pursuing her destruction but then, upon meeting Christ on the road to Damascus. reverses course. …

“This Church is truly the Church of God, using typical Pauline terminology. The Pope remarks, “Paul shows that he knows well and makes us all understand that the Church is not his and is not ours: The Church is the body of Christ, it is a “Church of God.” … For Paul “there is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female for you are all one in Christ Jesus.”
Theme 3 – An Encounter with the Holy Eucharist

“According to Pope Benedict, the unity of Head and Body for St. Paul has some very strong Eucharistic implications. In his famous exhortation on the Holy Eucharist… The bread which is broken, he writes, and the cup which is blessed are “a participation in the body of Christ” (l Cor. 10-16).”

Wake Up Notre Dame!

Wake Up Notre Dame!
In pursuit of the truth – www.cinopsbegone.org – Tuesday, May 19, 2009

Greetings and salutations! Yesterday, I received the following e-mail:

RESULTS OF THE DAME AND THE VATICAN … VS…. GMKUBECK AND CARDINAL NEWMAN SOCIETY GRADUATION CEREMONIES: WINNERS AND LOSERS
NOTRE DAME AND THE VATICAN – 100% CREDIBILITY … WINNERS
GMKUBECK AND REILLY AND ARROYO = 0% CREDIBILITY = LOSERS

The above e-mail was sent to me by a Jesuit priest. He may have forgotten that his Order was founded by St. Ignatius of Loyola. Also, they swear an oath loyalty to the Pope. Once a student of St. Ignatius; always a student! For me, as a graduate of a Jesuit College, and a lay member of the Dominican Laity, both St. Ignatius and St. Dominic were lovers and seekers of the whole truth – Veritas. Let us both pursue the truth unrelentlessly.

I believe there is something wrong with the above e-mail, particularly the 100% credibility opinion. I think the penance St. Ignatius would assign to the above Jesuit priest and anyone who thinks like him would be; the required reading all of the 650+ letters on the blog – CINOPS BE GONE; WHICH IS DEDICATED TO THE EXPOSURE AND REMOVAL OF CATHOLIC-IN-NAME-0NLY POLITICIANS. ST. THOMAS MORE IS OUR MODEL AND PATRON.

HOWEVER, THIS COULD BE TOO MUCH PUNISHMENT. I BELIEVE that with the prayers of our readers; this wise priest will learn, change his mind and even promote this blog. You can’t go wrong with Notre Dame’s Motto: God, Country and Notre Dame. The problem was President Father John Jenkins’ invitation to President Barack Obama to be the commencement speaker. It was a judgment call. Nevertheless, we can change a negative into many positive results.

It was this focus on the life issues and that of President Obama that made possible the results of the Gallup Poll of May 7-10th. Hallelujah! WE ARE A PRO-LIFE NATION. It’s 51% to 42% vs. LAST YEAR 50% PRO-CHOICE VS. 44% PRO-LIFE.

I liked Father Jenkins introduction, “appeal to faith and reason,” “reason, responsible, respectful dialogue,” “seek the common good” “honor all people of good will,” “dialogue with all,” “his appeal transcends race,” his goal of a world without nuclear weapons,” etc. There is at least one sentence that Father Jenkins should not have said and it is definitely not true. HE HAS BEEN A HEALER.

The President gave a good talk. But actions speak louder than words. “Let’s draft a sensible conscience clause.” That sounds OK. Obama acknowledged that “no matter how much we want to fudge it (abortion) … that fact is that at some level, the views of the two camps are irreconcilable.” Thank you! In 2010, it is an absolute No vote for any in Congress who support Obama’s position.

By the way, the Top Vatican Prelate Archbishop Raymond Burke delivered a powerful address on Life and Family at the Prayer Breakfast. Our friendly Jesuit priest must have missed reading that presentation. The Archbishop is also for a No Vote for Catholic-in-name-only politicians. Those of us who have been in the trenches at the abortion mills say THANKS BE TO GOD! In closing there was one shameful chant at the commencement address. One of three yelled out, “STOP KILLING OUR CHILDREN.” The campaign response: YES WE CAN! YES WE CAN!

FR. FRANK PAVONE AT NOTRE DAME

Fr. Frank Pavone at Notre Dame
In pursuit of the truth – www.cinopsbegone.com – Monday, May 18, 2009

Sunday was a great day for Priests for Life at Notre Dame. At the same time the President spoke and was honored by the University, I was speaking to and honoring the seniors who refused to attend their commencement ceremony, and instead invited me to lead them in the CLASS OF 2009 VIGIL FOR LIFE.
My reflections on the day are below, and we are preparing audio and video clips to post on our website.

The students are asking that you continue praying rosaries of reparation. You can show solidarity with these students by signing up: www.PrayerCampaign.org .
Also, did you hear about the Gallup poll showing more Americans than ever (and more than half) saying they are pro-life? See www.priestsforlife.org /statistics.
Fr. Frank Pavone, National Director, Priests for Life

MY DAY AT NOTRE DAME:

There was an eerie stillness and silence across the Notre Dame campus as my colleagues, a few of the seniors & I walked across the campus very early on the morning of Commencement Day. It was a calm before the storm of what we knew was an historic day.

I started with a National Foxnews interview along with Fr. Richard McBrien. We were asked our views on the Commencement. My message was. Everyone can imagine people they would protest speaking at a commencement: an avowed racist, anti-Semite, or advocate of terrorism. So the failure to object to one who is unwilling to call for an end to abortion is the failure to see that abortion is as bad or worse than those other evils. We have to stop trivializing abortion.

Moreover, the university gave the President an honorary law degree. Law exists to protect human rights; but this president has admitted that he doesn’t know when a child receives human rights. HOW CAN HE DEFEND HUMAN RIGHTS WHEN HE DOESN’T KNOW WHO HAS THEM?

After speaking to various media, I greeted people on campus who were coming from all over the country to stand with the courageous students who boycotted their own commencement and invited me to lead them in an alternate ceremony.

After I greeted and blessed the demonstrations who were at the campus entrance, and concelebrated a special Mass for Life, I led the class of 2009 Vigil for Life. We meditated on the Glorious Mysteries of the Rosary, on the victory of life over death, and on the fact that Jesus is King over every nation, over the courts, the Congress, and the White House. As I gave the students and their families reflections on these truths, the current occupant of the White House was calling the graduates to have “open minds, open hearts” and a spirit of dialogue.

Now dialogue with our opponents on this issue is something we at Priest for Life specialize in. I maintain friendships with abortion advocates and practicing abortionists. The clarity of our own convictions never means we despise, demonize, or shut out other people. And yes, we are willing to collaborate with others in morally legitimate ways to reduce the numbers of abortions.

But the President’s remarks had a glaring omission. While willing to dialogue and to promote adoption, he GAVE NO INDICATION OF ANY WILLINGNESS TO PROTECT THE CHILDREN IN THE WOMB. … Find this column on line:

AMERICA IS NOW A PRO-LIFE NATION!

America is Now a Pro-Life Nation
In pursuit of the truth – www.cinopsbegone.com – Saturday, May 16, 2009
http://www.politicsdaily.com/2009/05/15/america-is-now-a-pro-life nation/

David Knowles is a journalist, musician and novelist. He covered politics at AOL, for the past two and a half years. He posted on 5-15-09 – Filed under Democrats, Republicans, Religion, and Abortion, 735 comments + Here it is:

A new poll by Gallup shows a stunning reversal in American perceptions on the question of abortion. For the first time since Gallup started surveying the country on this subject, more Americans self-identify as being “Pro-Life” than “Pro-Choice.”
And the turn around has been marked over the course of the past year. 51% of those surveyed now say they are “Pro-Life” whereas a year ago that number was just 44%. Those who declare themselves “Pro-Choice” saw their numbers fall from 50% in 2008 to just 42%.

SO WHAT ACCOUNTS FOR THIS SEA-CHANGE? COULD THE ELECTION OF BARACK OBAMA HAVE SOMETHING TO DO WITH IT?

But a deeper look at Gallup’s numbers reveals that the real movement in the polling history is coming from Republic. & Independents who lean rightward:
The percentage of Republicans (including independents who lean Republican) calling themselves “pro-life” rose by 10 points over the past year, from 60% to 70%, while there has been essentially no change in the views of Democrats and Democratic leaners.

We share 4 of 735 Comments:

1.) It is pretty obvious now that most of the people who voted for Obama didn’t educate themselves on the issues. They just voted for “change” or accord to race.

2.) I’ll be more supportive of banning abortions when they make adoption easy. When adoption takes years and cost a fortune, abortion is the best choice.

3.) The poll showing that America is pro-life is an Obama back lash because he’s so pro-choice. Obama is for late term abortions which is wrong to most people. Of course the media is surprised!!! This shows how out of touch the media is. The majority of Americans are CONSERVATIVE and are mostly against abortion.

4.) Your question is valid. Obama has displayed a level of disdain for the unborn far more than even the most “liberal” politicians. He is the ONLY American politician I know to oppose efforts to protect those babies who survived abortion attempts. He refused to ban “infanticide.”

I keep waiting for Obama to quote Margaret Sanger (founder of Planned Parenthood) who was allegedly quoted, “The most merciful thing that a large family does to one of its infant members is to kill it.”

The results of the 2008 election vs. this poll mean that many pro-life people look to multiple considerations. And, they realize that the abortion situation is NOT going to change much regardless of who is Prez, so they moved that issue down the priority list. Kind of like a “political triage.”

One key reason the attitudes continue to shift is that every year, new voters come of age and realize that they could have been killed by their own mothers and they are not comfortable with that.

Until the citizens of this country show some intelligence and back bone and convince the judiciary (i.e., the SCOTUS) that our’s is a “nation of the people” not a “nation of robed elitists”, the murder of millions will continue.

The Notre Dame Scandal - 13 - 51%

The Notre Dame Scandal - 13 – 51%
In pursuit of the truth – www.cinopsbegone.come – Saturday, May 16th, 2009

God is. That means there is a sovereign truth and law above all our goals and interests. Pope Benedict XVI- Co-Workers of the Truth – Meditation for Every Day

The greatest story this weekend is that Natural Law has won the hearts and minds of the American people. In a dramatic and historic switch; and after 15 years of polling by Gallup on May 7-10, -- 51% of the American people are finally pro-life and 42% are pro-choice. Last year, it was 50% pro-choice and 44% Pro-life. God has his ways. It’s a miracle. Praise Be the Lord! – Maybe via Obama?

Now let’s get back to the Notre Dame Scandal and President Barrack Obama who is on Sunday the commencement speaker at the graduation of about 2001 graduates. Who is Obama? He is OUR president and also the main leader of the 42% pro-choice Americans. He is a product of Chicago politics, and that is nothing to be proud of. Let’s check out some of his background.

1. Obama worked when he was community organizer of A.C.O.R.N. with the Catholic Church in opposing the Nation’s Welfare Program signed by President Clinton. Barrack said he made a mistake. Our Church also made a mistake in opposing this Welfare Program because it is successful. Sadly, in the Stimulus Package, Obama is watering down the program and will reduce its effectiveness.

2. Obama allowed himself to be influenced by so-called Liberation Theology. Pope John Paul II crossed the ocean trying to bury this theology. It seems he was unsuccessful. You HAVE heard about Pastor Jeremiah Wright. Well Wright gushes forth with Black Liberation Theology Sermons. Liberation theology is hogwash. Tragically, again the top Jesuit of the Order praises liberation theology:

“Father Adolfo Nicolas, the Superior General of the Jesuit order, has expressed his disappointment that liberation theology has not gained wider acceptance. Calling liberation theology “a courageous and creative response to an unbearable situation of injustice in Latin America,” he said that the theological school needed a “vote of confidence” from Church leaders….” New Catholic World Report, January, 2009. p. 8

Personal Comment: WHEN YOU BECAME A JESUIT, FATHER A. NICOLAS YOU SWORE AN OATH OF LOYALTY TO THE POPE: STOP UNDERMING POPE BENEDICT XVI AND THE BISHOPS OF THE UNITED STATES: ----- SUPPORT UNEQUIVOCALLY POPE JOHN PAUL’S EX CORDE ECCLESIAE, THE APOSTOLIC CONSTITUTION FOR CATHOLIC INSTITUTIONS OF HIGHER EDUCATION. (1990)
{In the June/July Issue - First Things, Joseph Bottom has 5 pages on N.D.Scandal}

3. I don’t think the President has every met an authentic Catholic politician in the Chicago Democratic Party. That is a serious handicap. His presentation on Sunday is assuredly checked out by the likes of CINOP Senators Durbin and Kerry. The President must be aware that the Church has the option for the poor and the demagogues in Germany and Italy used that quite effectively in the 1930’s.

4.I perceive that the valedictorian is gung-ho for the President. Her personal experience for the poor and her seamless garment line of Catholic social justice may demonstrate itself. And then it is President Obama’s turn to speak.

The Notre Dame Scandal - 12

The Notre Dame Scandal – 12
In pursuit of the truth – www.cinopsbegone.com – Friday, May 15, 2009

This is the 12th letter in a series. Before we quote the letters of two bishops who wrote to Father John Jenkins CSC; there is exciting news from the new Gallup Poll. It’s on today’s Drudge Report.

Princeton, NJ – A new Gallup Poll, conducted May 7-10, finds 51% of Americans calling themselves “pro-life” on the issue of abortion and 42% “pro-choice.” This is the first time a majority of U.S. adults have identified themselves as pro-life since Gallup began asking this question in 1995.

Here is the text of the letter provided by Bishop Thomas G. Doran to the Cardinal Newman Society CNS, dated March 31, 2009.

1.) Reverend John I. Jenkins, C.S.C.
President, University of Notre Dame
400 Main Building, Notre Dame, IN 46556
Dear President Jenkins:

I wish to express in my own name and on behalf of the Catholic community of this Diocese, my dismay and outrage at your decision to invite the current President of the United States to address the 2009 graduates of the University of Notre Dame and to receive an honorary degree.

This decision of yours flies in the face of the expressed directive of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops in the year 2004, that Catholic institutions not so honor those who profess opposition to the Church’s doctrine on abortion and embryonic stem cell research.

I would ask that you rescind this unfortunate decision and so avoid dishonoring the practicing Catholics of the United States, including those of this Diocese. Failing that, please have the decency to change the name of the University to something like, “The Fighting Irish College” or “Northwestern Indiana Humanist University.” Though promotion of the obscene is not foreign to you is not foreign to you, I would point out that it is truly obscene for you to take such decisions as you have done in a university named for our Blessed Lady, whom the Second Vatican Council called the Mother of the Church.

I sign myself, Very truly yours, The Most Reverend Thomas G. Doran, D.D.,
J.C.D. Bishop of Rockford

2,) This letter is provided by Bishop Fabian to CNS dated April 3, 2009.
Reverend and dear Father Jenkins,

Permit me to add my name to the long list of Bishops of the Catholic Church who are utterly appalled at your dedication to immorality and wrong-doing represented by your support for the obscenity called “The Vagina Monologues” and your absolute indifference to the murderous abortion program and beliefs of this President of the United States. The fact that you have some sort of past connection with the State of Nebraska makes it all the more painful that the Catholic people here have to see your betrayal of the moral teachings of the Catholic Church.

I can assure you of my prayers for your conversion, and for the conversion of your formerly Catholic University. I am
Sincerely yours in Christ Jesus, The Most Reverend Fabian W. Bruskewitz
Bishop of Lincoln

George H. Kubeck, Please reread the above two letters & note again the strong language.

The Notre Dame Scandal - 11 - I Apologize

Notre Dame Scandal - 11 – I Apologize

In pursuit of the truth – www.cinopsbegone.com – Thursday, May 14, 2009

Preface: “It grieves me to say that the support of anti-life legislation by Catholics in public office is so common that those who are not Catholic have justifiably questioned whether the Church’s teaching regarding the inviolable dignity of innocent human life is firm and unchanging. It gives the gives the impression that the Church herself can change the law which God has written on every human heart from the beginning of time and has declared in the 5th Commandment of the Decalogue: Thou shalt not kill!” This is a passage from Archbishop Burke’s Keynote Address from last Friday’s Catholic Prayer Breakfast.

Speaking for myself and as a Catholic, I apologize to the many non-Catholic Christian leaders and their organizations in the pro-life, pro-marriage, and pro-family movements throughout the country. I receive their literature and financial support many of them.

I apologize for the Catholic label politicians: the 16 Senators who voted to remove the conscience clause from doctors and health care workers; also the 16 Senators who voted to confirm Sebelius to head the Federal Health and Welfare Department. She has blood on her hands. She was elected in part with the monies from Kansas’s Tiller the killer who kills the very late term babies.

I apologize for the many Catholic label politicians in the House of Representatives who voted 9 out of 10 times AGAINST the Catholic and Christian position on the following past legislation. Ref. Scorecard: Catholic Advocate

1.Stem Cell Research Enhancement Act-passage (110th)
2.Marriage Amendment Act (109th) ---- 3. Terri Schiavo: Fed. Court Rev. (109)
4.Child Interstate Abortion Notification Act (109th)
5.Abortion in military medical facilities (109th)
6.Coercive abortion / United Nations Population Fund (109th)
7.Unborn Child Pain Awareness Act: passage (109th)
8.Human Cloning Ban: passage (108th)9. Partial-Birth Abortion Ban: pass. 108
10.Unborn Victims of Violence Act (108th)

I apologize for the unbelievable and diabolical Catholic-in-name-only politicians who are the Cosponsors of “FOCA” in Congress. In California, their names include LORETTA SANCHEZ, Linda Sanchez, Anna G. Eshoo, HILDA SOLIS, Mike Thompson, Ellen O. Tauscher, Diane E. Watson, George Miller and G. Napolitana.

And in the Senate the Cosponsors are: Patty Murray, Maria Cantwell, Robert Menendez, John Kerry, and Barbara Mikulski. Do you know who the head sponsor of “FOCA” is in the Senate? Senator Barbara Boxer! Do you know who voted her in 2000 and in 2006?
It was the uninformed, misdirected and duped Catholic voter in California! The non-Catholic Christian voters did not vote for her. I apologize. Help us in the year 2010to get rid of some of the Catholic label frauds!

All of the above are part of the Notre Dame Scandal. The hottest places in hell are reserved for religious leaders who do not speak out or are silent during this moral crisis. Will the leaders speak out when the Catholic-in-name-only politicians (CINOPS) sponsor fornication, adultery and pornographic legislation?

The Notre Dame Scandal - 10

The Notre Dame Scandal – 10

In pursuit of the truth – www.cinopsbegone.com – Tuesday, May 12, 2009

The Cardinal Newman Society fights for the Catholic identify in each of the 250 Catholic colleges and universities in America. That’s why it is so very important for everyone to join this Society. There is strength in numbers.
As I check out these various news items, there is some good and bad news:

1.)“Priests for Life” Head Will Lead Alternate Notre Dame Ceremony:
Members of the senior class who have decided not to attend their own graduation have invited Fr. Pavone to lead them in prayer at the class of 2009 Vigil for Life, which will start at 2 P.M., (Sunday, May 17th) the same time as the commencement ceremony in which President Obama will be honored.
The Class of 2009 Vigil for Life will take place at the Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes, where the Glorious Mysteries of the Rosary will be prayed and Fr. Frank will give 5 minute meditations prior to each decade.

2.) The Vatican’s representative Archbishop Emeritus Raymond Burke had a most powerful message given at the National Catholic Prayer Breakfast last Friday:

“I come to you, not as someone who stands outside of our nation but as citizen who … takes responsibility for the state of our nation and, therefore, cannot remain indifferent and inactive about what concerns the good of all of us all … Over the past several months, our nation has chosen a path which more completely denies any legal guarantee of the most fundamental human right, the right to life, to the innocent and defenseless unborn.

Our nation which, which had its beginning in the commitment to safeguard and promote the inalienable right to “Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness” for all, without boundary, is more and more setting arbitrary limits to her commitment … With unparalleled arrogance, our nation is choosing to renounce its foundation upon the faithful … love of a man and woman in marriage, … there is no element of the common good, no morally good practice, which a candidate may promote and to which a voter may be dedicated, which could justify voting for a candidate who also endorses & supports the deliberate killing of the unborn, euthanasia or the recognition of a same-sex relationship as legal marriage…"

3.) In mid-April, the president of the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities told the National Catholic Reporter that he and the presidents of the group’s 28 member institutions had privately expressed support to Fr. Jenkins for the Obama invitation. That’s a mistake. Then what the Jesuits at three of their institutions did was to deliberately undermine the US. Bishops. They invited three Catholic-in-name-only persons (CINOPS) D. Brazill, Chris Matthews and Senator Casey to be commencement speakers at their colleges. As a graduate of a Jesuit College; that is a tragedy.

4) We must not to let the tail wag the dog or the ox. There are now multiple issues on the table. Let’s turn a negative into a positive. With respect to the useful lay Catholic idiots for the culture of Obama, I perceive Kmiec as the Pontius Pilate of the pro-life movement. He reminds me of the fable - The Ox and Bullfrog: The bullfrog is sitting on the rear of the ox. He imagines himself to be the ox. So he puffs himself up more & more. He bursts and splatters himself on the ox’s rear.

Two Kinds of Lives - Psalm 1:1-6

Two Kinds of Lives - Psalm 1:1-6
In pursuit of the truth, www.cinopsbegone.com – Tuesday, May 12, 2009

Without doubt, Tyndale House Publishers’ book is one of the best. Its title is The Best of the Bible – 365 Must – Read Bible Passages, 1996 The Livingstone Corporation. The following is today’s passage:

Oh, the joys of those
who do not follow the advice of the wicked?
or stand around with sinners,
or join in with acoffers,
But delight in doing everything the Lord wants;
day and night they think about his law.
They are like trees planted along the riverbank,
Bearing fruit each season without fail.
Their leaves never wither,
and in all they do, they prosper

But this is not true of the wicked.
They are like worthless chaff, scattered by the wind.
They will be condemned at the time of judgment.
Sinners will have no place among the godly.

For the Lord watches over the path of the godly,
but the path of the wicked leads to destruction.

What kind of person do you really want to be?

God doesn’t judge people on the basis of race, sex, or national origin. He judges them on the basis of their faith in him and their response to his revealed will. Those who diligently try to obey God are blessed.

They are like healthy, fruit-bearing trees with strong roots, and God promises to watch over them. God’s wisdom guides their lives. In contrast, those who don’t trust and obey God have meaningless lives that blow away like dust.

There are only two paths of life before you - God’s way of obedience or the way of rebellion and destruction. Be sure to choose God’s path because the path you choose determines how you will spend eternity.

The Notre Dame Scandal - 9

The Notre Dame Scandal – 9
In pursuit of the truth – wwwcinopsbegone.com –

This is the ninth letter in a series. Today’s purpose is to understand the mind and heart of some of those who supported and approved the invitation of President Obama to Notre Dame. How were they brainwashed?

The following are excerpts from the President Bill Donohue’s desk in the May 09, “Catalyts” Journal of the Catholic League for Religious and Civil Rights.

“The religious left has lost its moorings…. The establishment has long hated the Catholic Church. We know this because the Foundation world has been awash with cash flowing to causes that specifically undermine Catholicism. The population control movement – which has long screened so-called undesirables like blacks and Catholics – has been funded by the Rockefeller Foundation since its reception. The Ford Foundation, the John D. and Catherine MacArthur Foundation, … the Hewlett Foundation, the Packard Foundation and the Buffet Foundation … have all contributed to “Catholics for Choice.”… WHICH MEANS THAT THEY UNDERWRITE ABORTION AND ANTI-CATHOLICISM?

There is another foundation that gives to “Catholics for Choice,” and that is the OPEN SOCIETY INSTITUTE. Sounds professional. It is. It is professional anti-Catholic. The guy who runs it is GEORGE SOROS, the billionaire left-wing activist who has his teeth in every radical cause. Lately, Soros has expanded his reach by funding dummy Catholic groups like CATHOLICS IN ALLIANCE FOR THE COMMON GOOD AND CATHOLICS UNITED. …

Catholics in Alliance, Catholics United and Catholic Democrats are all pro-abortion…. When Kansas Governor Kathleen Sebelius was nominated by President Obama to be secretary of health and human services, she was roundly criticized by the Catholic League and others for her unyielding pro-abortion positions. Her local bishop, Archbishop Joseph Naumann, asked her specifically what laws she had ever supported restricting abortion rights in her 30 years of public service. She couldn’t come up with any. But this didn’t matter to Catholics United - they praised her “deep Catholic faith” and opposition to abortion. …

When the Obama administration took a position against conscience rights for healthcare workers, the “Catholic League” and other Catholic groups weighed in heavily against the administration. CATHOLIC IN ALLIANCE, CATHOLIC UNITED, AND CATHOLIC DEMOCRATS SAID NOTHING….

VOICE OF THE FAITHFUL IS ANOTHER FRAUD. … It is one thing for the ACLU to work against you. We expect that. It is something else altogether when those who purport to be on our side do.”

Personal Comments:
Why would anyone listen to the so-called Catholic Trojan Horses? They influenced the Catholic vote in 2008. The Notre Dame Scandal is a positive education to change the Catholic vote in 2010. But money still buys a lot of lies.

Life and Motherhood on Judgment Day

Life and Motherhood on Judgment Day

In pursuit of the truth – www.cinopsbegone.com – Mother’s Day, Sun. May 10/09

Does it matter? Is it that important? On the first Thursday of May, we celebrated National Day of Public Prayer for our country. {In Cypress, California, we had eleven participants outside their City Hall.} On the second Sunday of May we honor our mothers. Today, not only in America but throughout the world, there is a war against the life of the unborn, mothers, fathers, and their born children.

I believe that the Presidential Medal of Honor recipient, Henry Hyde and the Crusade of Blessed Margaret of Castello, O.P. have messages for us.

“When the time comes as it surely will, when we face the awesome moment, the final judgment. I’ve often thought, as Fulton Sheen wrote, that it is a terrible moment of loneliness. You have no advocates, you are there alone standing before God – and a terror will rip through your soul like nothing you can imagine.
But I really think that those in the pro-life movement will not be alone. I think there will be a chorus of voices that have never been heard in this world but are heard beautifully and clearly in the next world – and they will plead for everyone who has been in this movement. They will say to God, ‘Spare him because he loved us.’” Henry Hyde

Blessed Margaret of Castello O.P.

Had she been conceived today, Margaret surely would have been a victim of abortion or left to die at birth … and what a tragedy that would have been!!! A tragedy for Margaret … who would been deprived of the opportunity to suffer for Christ and thereby achieve the heights of sanctity; a tragedy for the Church … who would have deprived of such an extraordinary daughter; for each one of us … who handicapped as we are by prejudice, by greed, by indifference, by cold-heartedness, or by whatever form it may take, would have been deprived of one with whom we can identify … of one who could truly show us that the only deformity abhorrent to God is the deformity of sin.
As an unwanted deformed child would she not be the ‘saint’ for our time … a special patron of the unborn, the handicapped, the disabled, the social outcasts the patron of the UNWANTED? Will you not join in crusade for her canonization?
She will never fail to help those who invoke her.

{Maybe, we can find the time in the mornings; in our neighborhoods like the Counties of Orange and Los Angeles to participate in a short prayer vigil either alone or with others. This country needs all the public prayer in the world. These two facilities (Family Planning Associates) are already covered by counselors who would love to see you there.}

The Notre Dame Scandal - 8
In pursuit of the truth – www.cinopsbegone.com – Friday, May 8, 2009

This is the eight letter in a series. What’s going on here? Didn’t 54% of the Catholic Americans vote for Obama? Yes, they did! But many of them were sold a false bill of goods by Obama supporters - Catholic-in-name-only politicians (CINOPS) & their surrogates like Catholics United, and Catholics for the Common Good, etc. that Obama was a better pro-life presidential candidate than McCain.

Now the important thing is that Catholic voters helped break the color barrier for the Presidency. They did the same for Gore in 2000 with 52% of the vote to break the religious barrier for Vice-Presidential candidate Senator Lieberman.

Mr. President, you are lightning rod for Catholics in America. It is the best thing that has occurred to American Catholics in decades. You see the CINOPS are an albatross around the neck of the Catholic Church and they are also for your presidency. What we want in America are authentic Catholic colleges and universities. There are about 250 in America. For over a hundred years these colleges were built and financed by orthodox Catholics like Bishop Fulton Sheen. Many are Catholic-in-name-only educational facilities. THAT’S FRAUD & DECEIT!

Honest Journalism?

Honest Journalism
In pursuit of the truth – www.cinopsbegone.com – Wednesday, May 6, 2009

What’s going on? Miss California is ridiculed, maligned, and denigrated by the left-wing internet and the public airways. Even her parents are threatened. Why? SHE SUPPORTS MARRIAGE BETWEEN A MAN AND A WOMAN!

Furthermore, the politically correct news really doesn’t care. Why? They directly and indirectly support same-sex marriage. I believe Miss California’s stand is a badge of honor for normal Americans. I believe that the politically correct news media is destructive to the nation and in particular to the homosexual oriented person for embracing the radical left-wing political and social agenda of the EXTREME leaders of the homosexual agenda.

One would expect CINOP Republican governor Arnold and his wife CINOP Democrat Maria to speak out and say that these insults of Miss California must stop. Why are both of them silent? Is it because both of them shamefully as Catholic-in-name-only politicians support same-sex marriage? Is this what’s going to happen to anyone who publicly supports traditional marriage?

The only public news media that reported the above and criticized this kind of smear tactics of Miss California was Fox News with Bill O’Reilly. It occurred on his Monday news report where he also called the News Media “corrupt.”

Is honest journalism dead in America? There are many exceptions, but overall, honest journalism is dead. Why? Personal analysis and Hannity thinks so. Those of us who lived during the Cold War which ended around 1989 will know what I am talking about much better. We must educate our younger citizens.

Do you remember the useful idiots, the fellow travelers, the Commie party lovers of the Russian or Chinese communists in our midst? I do! They stood out among us; in particular among the anti-war demonstrators. I don’t think they learned anything from the collapse of Communism in Europe and Eastern Europe during the late 1980s. THEIRS IS NOT THE KIND OF AMERICA WE WANT!

Pravda is the Russian word for truth. Pravda was to the rulers of communist Russia what modern political correctness is to the culture of death agenda in America. Ordinary Russians saw through this propaganda and so do regular Americans. Throughout the country, liberal politically correct newspapers are going bankrupt. The Boston Globe is on the verge. The New York Times borrowed 200 million from a Mexican financier. He gets 17% interest on it yearly.

Even stupid corporations are on the road to self-destruction. I am thinking of Pepsi Cola and Campbell Soup promoting this homosexual, non-American, and radical agenda. McDonald sensibly back out of it months ago.

If it wasn’t for talk-radio, news from the internet, Fox News, the Wall Street Journal and other truth seeking sources we would all be indoctrinated by ABC- CBS – NBC - MSNBC, and CNN news. We would all be in the twilight zone ready for a different America stripped of its foundations – our Judeo-Christian heritage -
Our Constitution- and the principles of freedom & ideas of our Founding Fathers.

The Notre Dame Scandal - 7

The Notre Dame Scandal – 7
In pursuit of the truth – www.cinopsbegone – Tuesday, May 5, 2009

The Price of Liberty is eternal vigilance!
The Integrity of our Catholic Faith is faithful vigilance to the Catholic Church’s Catechism.

It would be a good idea for both sides of the controversy to contemplate the message of the Holy Father for May 3, 2009, Fourth Sunday of Easter – His Theme: Faith in the divine initiative – the human response.

It expands upon the theme of the Good Shepherd who does not run away (or is silent) when the sheep are to be devoured, but rather lays down his own life for them.

This is the seventh in a series of letters on the Notre Dame Scandal. Let us focus on the shepherds who are the bishops. Today, we need shepherds in the footsteps of Pope John Paul II. About 70 bishops have spoken out. We look forward to all to speak out between today and Saturday, May 17th. That is the day of the President’s commencement address.

Fact # 1 – When Father John Jenkins made the decision to invite President Obama; not one of his 12 advisors questioned it. This is a most disturbing mindset and may be characteristic of other Catholic universities. One can understand why Bishop John D’Arcy was not informed. In the spring of 2004 as reported by the Cardinal Newman Society, the bishop scolded Notre Dame for “Monologues.”

The following are excerpts from his statement concerning the Feb. 14th 2004 performance of “The Vagina Monologues” at the University of Notre Dame.

“At this time of the year, it has been customary for many institutions of higher learning, including, regrettably, Catholic institutions, to present something called, “The Vagina Monologues” is presenting it again, as it has for the past several years, under the official sponsorship of at least two departments.

“The Vagina Monologues” is offensive to women; it is antithetical of Catholic teaching on the beautiful gift of human sexuality and also to the teachings of the Church on the human body and the human person, in the tradition of the church, must never be seen as an object…. This play violates the truth about women; the truth about sexuality; the truth about male and female, and the truth about the human body”…

For the above, thank you Cardinal Newman Society. The Society is dedicated to promoting the educational ideal espoused by John Henry Newman and further developed by Pope John Paul II in his Apostolic Constitution, Ex Corde Ecclesiae. To accelerate progress towards our goal of renewing Catholic identity in Catholic Higher Education in the U.S.A., the Cardinal Newman Society needs to expose thousands more college leaders, educators, alumni and students and their parents and grandparents. Pope Benedict's Meditation on TRUTH

Pope Benedict’s Meditation on TRUTH
In pursuit of the truth – www.cinopsbegone.com – Sunday, May 3, 2009

Truth is not one of the great moral catchwords of our age; it does not stand high on the roster of virtues…. Considering the widespread social concerns of our epoch, there seems to be little left for the wearisome and boring question of truth.

Indeed, there some who suspect that it serves us rather as a way of bypassing pressing human problems: that it is far from offering an answer to these problems…. But what shall we say, then, about truth? Where is it actually to be found? What does it mean? I would like to attempt an answer to this question by relating a brief episode from the life of Pater Rupert Mayer.

Rupert Mayer became acquainted with Hitler as early as 1919 when the latter was discussion leader at a Communist meeting. At that early period, when Hitler was not recognized as the future dictator, it could still seem on the whole likely that, despite some annoying traits, he could become an ally in the struggle against the threat of Marxism. Hitler himself had hinted at this….

Father Rupert, who was not an intellectual, but a simple priest, recognized, as it were, the mask of Antichrist in something that we might well have overlooked. He realized from the beginning that Hitler constantly exaggerated and had no scruples about lying. One who does not respect the truth cannot construct anything worth while. If truth is not held in honor then freedom, justice, and love cannot flourish. Truth, which I mean the simple, humble, patient truth of daily life, is the foundation of all the other virtues.

I am not speaking here about truth in matters of great importance, such as God, the world, and human beings, but about truth in those matters of small importance that impinge on our daily lives – but the two are not to be separated. And one who has no qualms about treading ruthlessly on the truth in small matters cannot claim to be a guarantor of the truth in great matters.

Let us now apply this to the present. What is our attitude toward truth? How does each of us relate to truth day after day? Do I always speak the truth? Have I the courage to adhere to it even when it is uncomfortable, and when it disturbs any peace, when it leads to irritation or anger?

For we cannot deny that truth is often shameful. Truth is disagreeable and can the cause of much unpleasantness. Truth so often interferes with what we deem useful or necessary and is so easily pushed aside. One seems to lose so little thereby and to gain so much. But if we act and speak in such a way – how can we really ever trust one another?

Where truth is not present, the foundation of society is ripped from under us. In fact, this apparently very useless virtue is, in reality, the fundamental virtue of all society.
G.H.K. The above from Ratzinger’s “Co-Workers of the Truth,” May 3rd meditation.

Ex-Canadian: Plain Talk on the Notre Dame Scandal

Ex-Canadian: Plain Talk on the Notre Dame Scandal
In pursuit of the truth – Memorial St. Joseph the Worker – Friday, May 1, 2009

It would be a good idea if both sides of the controversy would begin to read Joseph Cardinal Ratzinger’s book “Co-Workers of the Truth” Meditations for Every Day of the Year,1992 Ignatius Press, San Francisco. Over the years they will learn something each day.

The invitation of President Barack Obama to speak at Notre Dame was a bonanza for the U.S. Catholic-in-name-only politicians. (CINOPS) Nothing more and nothing less. There seems to be a mental block and a blind spot by the bishops, theologians, priests, parishioners, and especially Catholic writers with respect to the CINOPS.

These CINOPS, men and women, are shallow individuals. They are political hacks for the culture of death. The 55 bishops who have spoken out on this scandal are in the footsteps of Blessed Pope John Paul II. All bishops need to speak out.

It is better for the Catholic Church in America to have pro-life and family politicians who are agnostics or atheists than any CINOP. We just had 16 so-called Catholic Senators in Congress vote to eliminate the conscience clause. They are frauds & imposters.

The CINOP is really the equivalent of any politician who publicly supports fornication, adultery and pornography. If those of us who are prayer and educational evangelists at the abortion mills understand this; why can’t all of us?

This controversy is turning into a positive for the education of all. Do we believe in natural law? Who are we as Catholics and Americans? Thank you Father John Jenkins!

Always in the back of my mind is the fear of same-sex marriage for our country that is being promoted by the elite culture in America. IN CANADA, CATHOLIC LIBERALS INTRODUCED AND PASSED THE SAME-SEX MARRIAGE LAWS. IN THE U.S., NO CINOP HAS SPOKEN OUT PUBLICLY IN OPPOSITION TO SAME-SEX MARRIAGE.

The mindset of the staff at USCCB must never accept or accommodate to same-sex marriage IN ANY STATE PRESENTLY LEGALIZED. It would not be America anymore. Have we not learned from abortion? An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

Also it’s time to get rid of Democratic registered lawyers throughout each U.S. dioceses. We can’t trust them. Let’s have the lawyers that represent the Evangelical, Baptist or Mormon Churches in America. The D. lawyers come up with stupid regulations for the distribution by pro-life literature and candidates outside Catholic Churches, etc. Besides if any lawyer or Catholic advisors are members of the ACLU; they should be fired.

Catholic writers when writing about the CINOP seem to focus only on abortion. That is the tip of the iceberg! You are looking at a guy or gal that is promoting – the two A’s, the two E’s and the two SS. (Abortion-Assisted-Suicide: Euthanasia- Embryonic-Stem Cell Research; and Same-Sex Marriage) Has it ever occurred to them that the best way to solve this problem is simply vote them out of office in 2010? CINOPS are an albatross and scandal around our necks; our Catholic Faith and Church. Let’s start writing about them!
