THE THIRD GREAT AMERICAN AWAKENING

THE THIRD GREAT AMERICAN AWAKENING

IN PURSUIT OF THE TRUTH – WWW.CINOPSBEGONE.COM – TUESDAY, AUGUST 31, 2010

THE DAY BEFORE THE GREAT TEA PARTY RALLY IN WASHINGTON, D.C., GLENN BECK HAD A SPECIAL EVENT AT THE KENNEDY CENTER WITH MORE THAN 1500 DIFFERENT RELIGIOUS LEADERS COMING FROM ALL PARTS OF THE COUNTRY. HE CALLED IT AN EVENING OF DIVINE DESTINY. THIS COMING FRIDAY ON HIS PROGRAM, HE WILL TALK TO THREE LEADERS FROM THE BLACKED ROBED REGIMENT. GLENN BECK SAYS,”SEE YOU THERE.”

I TOOK NOTES OF TODAY’S GLENN BECK’S TV PROGRAM AND WANTED TO FIND OUT WHAT HE BELIEVED HAPPENED AT THE MALL IN WASHINGTON, D.C. ON SATURDAY, AUGUST 28TH, 2010.
GLENN REFERRED TO THE PRINCIPLES OF FAITH, HOPE AND CHARITY. BE YOUR HIGHEST SELF.

HE WAS VERY PROUD OF THE 500,000 FRIENDS WHO CAME OUT, AND WITH THEIR BEHAVIOR:
WALL STREET JOURNAL HAD AN OP-ED ARTICLE ON THE EVENT:

“IT NOTED THE QUALITY OF THE PEOPLE AT THE EVENT. JUDGING BY THEIR BEHAVIOUR THEY WERE A WELL-MANNERED FOLKS. IT WAS A SPECIAL WARRIORS EVENT WITH GRATITUDE TO OUR SOLDIERS.

“THERE WERE NO CAT-CALLS AND COMPLETELY NON-VIOLENT IN MOOD. IT WAS LIKE A HUGE CHURCH CROWD AND LEFT THE EVENT BETTER THAN THEY FOUND IT. THERE WAS A WELL ORGANIZED CLEAN-UP.

“RESTORE THE COUNTY BY MAKING CHANGES IN THEIR OWN LIVES. FOR MANY IT WAS LIKE THE FIRST APPEARANCE IN A PUBLIC EVENT. THEY BELIEVED IN A SINCERE NEED TO CLING TO THE BEST TRADITIONS OF OUR COUNTRY.”

GLENN FELT THAT TODAY WAS NOT A POLITICAL EVENT. PARTIES NEED TO EARN THEIR VOTE. AGITATING FOR A LEANER GOVERNMENT AND RESTORING OUR CONSTITUTION. A REAGAN LEGACY:
RESTORE FAITH, HOPE AND CHARITY: WE BELIEVE IN HOPE WHICH COMES FROM TRUTH. EVERY RELATIONSHIP IS BASED ON TRUTH AND CHARITY. GOD SAYS PROVE ME HERE AND NOW. REAL CHARITY WITHOUT THE GOVERNMENT: GLENN STARTED GIVING 10% WHEN HE WAS 4 YEARS OLD.

IT’S NOT ABOUT THE NOVEMBER ELECTION. IT’S ABOUT THE 3RD AMERICAN AWAKENING. IT’S WHAT WE DO FROM HERE ON. TAKE THE 40 DAY CHALLENGE AND CHANGE YOUR LIFE.

VIA GLENNBECK.COM AND A SECTION ON KINDNESS, GLENN IS HEARING THE STORIES OF THE PARTICIPENTS AT THE RALLY. THERE WAS ETHEL FROM PENNSYLVANIA. SHE WAS AN OLDER BLACK WOMAN IN A SCOUTER. SHE WAS NOT PREPARED FOR THE CROWDS THAT SHE ENCOUNTERED. BUT A FAMILY WITH TWO CHILDREN GUIDED HER ALL DAY AND TREATED HER LIKE FAMILY. SHE SAW KINDNESS OF THE PEOPLE THERE. YOU CAN ABSOLUTELY FEEL IT.

Plain Talk about the Gay Agenda

Plain Talk about the Gay Agenda
In pursuit of the truth – www.cinopsbegone.com – Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2010

It wasn’t too long ago that this question was asked. Would you choose to be homosexual? A huge majority of homosexuals would answer No! Also to the question, “Would you choose to be brought up in a home with a mother and father and not a home of same-sex couples?” The answer would be yes! Also, to the question, “Does the environment, culture and people around you have an influence on one becoming homosexually oriented?”

My concern is with the gay agenda and its promotion of same-sex marriage. {My beef is with the Catholic-label Democratic politicians that support same-sex laws. They did in Canada.}

I do not believe that a majority of homosexuals want these same-sex marriage laws to be passed in any state of the union. This is a wedge issue used by the Culture of Death advocates for their agenda. Let’s check out excerpts from a great Zenith article, - http://www.zenit.org/article-30118?!=english

“Muehlenberg, secretary of the Family Council of Victoria, set forth a series of reasons (on same-sex marriage & contrary to Judge Walker’s decision), none of them based on religious grounds.

1.It negates what marriage is. Marriage is not just a social contract, but a cultural universal. Marriage is the basis for family formation and is not simply a way of legitimizing sex. Evolutionary biologists acknowledge that male-female bonding in lasting pairs was the critical step in human evolution and is something built into us by nature.

2.The percentage of homosexuals who want to marry is very small and in places where it has already been legalized there have been relatively few same-sex marriages. It has been legal in the Netherlands since 2001 and only 4 % of homosexuals married during the first five years. {This is the same in Canada.}

3.There is another agenda here. A fundamental goal of the homosexual lobby is the complete social and public endorsement of them. Being able to marry is like having a stamp of approval from government and society. It changes the institution of the family and essentially redefines marriage out of existence.

4.Not all relationships are alike. Homosexual relationships are much more unstable and promiscuous than heterosexual ones. Research has also found that among married homosexual couples the rate of divorce is much higher than for heterosexual couples.

5.Claims of discrimination and denial of rights are spurious. People are entitled to the benefits of marriage if they meet the requirements. Just as family members and minors cannot marry, so too homosexuals cannot. Social goods are denied to all sorts of people and that life operates. Societies discriminate in favor of heterosexual unions because of the social good derived from them. Homosexuals are seeking to re-write the rules to get all the benefits, which avoiding the obligations.

6.The arguments used to justify legal same-sex marriage could be used to legislate incest, polygamy or any number of sexual combinations.

7.It is not good for children. In most cases a child will do better with a mother and a father. As well children need role models as they are growing up. Children should be given priority, and not used as political footballs.”

These arguments above are amply documented in the book, “Gay Marriage,” published in May by Australian publisher Pantera Press. Bill Muehlenberg took up the case against same-sex marriage.

The Drama and Tears of Saving Lives

The Drama and Tears of Saving Lives
In pursuit of the truth – www.cinopsbegone.com – Monday, August 30, 2010

THANK YOU, SIDEWALK COUNSELORS CECELIA AND THERESA, FOR SAVING THE LIVES OF TWO UNBORN BABIES AT THE ABORTION FACILITY, 2777 LONG BEACH BLVD., LONG BEACH, CALIFORNIA ON WEDNESDAY MORNING BEFORE 10 A.M. ON AUG. 24TH, 2010. THIS ABORTION MILL IS ACROSS THE STREET FROM THE LONG BEACH MEMORIAL MEDICAL HOSPITAL.

By tears we mean tears of joy and gratitude to God that the two mothers of unborn babies changed their minds and will not have their child aborted. Saves do happen at all of our nation’s abortion sites. This killing place in Long Beach does 30 to 40 abortions on Wednesdays.

We (George, Bob and Ron) got to the abortion site around 9:07 A.M. We usually stay until about 10 A.M. We pray about 3 Mysteries of Rosary, pass out literature, and give moral support for the counselors present. Hector, a more than twenty-year counselor usually arrives around 9:25 A.M.

When we arrived, we were elated to hear that there was a save that morning. Cecilia and Theresa had been at the entrance to the mill since 8 A.M. Cecelia counseled Janet*, a black American lady to change her mind. She and her sister were given literature when they arrived at the abortion site entrance. They had driven in from San Bernadino. Her older sister brought her to the abortion mill. Janet’s sister had an abortion in 2008 and was very hurt and unhappy with the consequence, particularly when she saw the little unborn baby figures displayed on the car. This was also a strong influence on Janet* who changed her mind. She will have her baby.

Immediately, after we started to pray the Rosary, another mother brought her 18 year old daughter Maria*for an abortion. They came along the sidewalk to the entrance of the abort facility. Quickly, Theresa entered to counsel the mother and daughter and save the life of the unborn baby. It was in Spanish. Theresa was very persuasive. It went on for about 30 minutes. Ron and counselors Hector and Cecelia prayed and helped also. At the end, we all hugged mother and daughter with tears of joy in our eyes. Ron gave a Fatima Rosary to Maria*. More of your prayers are needed because Maria* has already a 5 month-old baby at home. “The Sister of Charity” and the nearby “The Nesting Place” help pregnant mothers. (It seems that abortion sites provide men with the biggest rip-off of women since Eve succumbed to the temptations of Satan.)

We usually have the prayer sheet for the abortion sites from Priests for Life and Father Frank Pavone. However, the one we had was also most appropriate. In “The Luminous Mysteries,” let us pray that God would allow a miracle of change in the hearts of those contemplating abortion. In “The Sorrowful Mysteries,” help us to go on with our pro-life efforts, no matter how tired or discouraged we may be. May we never rest until we have given ourselves completely? In “The Glorious Mysteries,” so many who are considering abortion are at the ends of the earth, unloved and unloving, hurt, scared, poor, near despair. Help us to lead them upward to You.

Thanks to God’s Infinite Love and Mercy,*Names changed to protect identity of ladies.

Charles Krauthammer and Nat Hentoff

Charles Krauthammer and Nat Hentoff
In pursuit of the truth – www.cinopsbegone.com – Sunday, Aug. 29, 2010

These are classics. Both of them hit the nail directly on the head. Thank you “Orange County Register” in California for publishing their columns in the Opinion section on Friday, Aug. 27, 2010.

It was like a breadth of air for all normal Americans. Believe me. Cut it out and save it for your friends and liberals. I’ve done it and passed it on.

A.Let’s start with some excerpts from Charles Krauthammer’s article appropriately called “A tattered bigotry card.” Reading the whole article is enriching: Here are several excerpts.

“ Liberalism under siege is an ugly sight indeed … Ah, the people, the little people, the small-town people, as Barack Obama in an unguarded moment once memorably called them, clinging “to guns or religion or” – this part is less remembered –

“antipathy toward people who aren’t like them.” That’s a polite way of saying clinging to bigotry. And promiscuous charges of bigotry are precisely how our current rulers and their vast media auxiliary react to an obstreperous citizenry that insists on incorrect thinking.

Resistance to the vast expansion of government power, intrusiveness and debt, as represented by the tea party movement? Why, racist resentment toward a black president.

Disgust and alarm with the federal government’s unwillingness to curb illegal immigration, as crystallized in the Arizona law? Nativism.

Opposition to the most radical redefinition of marriage in human history, as expressed in Proposition 8 in California? Homophobia.

Opposition to a 15-story Islamic center and mosque new Ground Zero? Islamophobia…

B.Here is Nat Hentoff column titled: “Class of freedoms at Ground Zero”:
Nat gives us facts on the background of this Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf’s intention to build a mosque two blocks north of the horror 9/11 at Ground Zero.”… construction workers pledging they will not work on this mosque … “I wouldn’t work there… I found out about what the Imam said about U.S. policy being responsible for 9/11.

“… Imam Rauf was interviewed on CBS “60 Minutes,” Sep. 30, 2001, by Ed Bradley… “Are you suggesting that we in the United States deserved what happened?”

Bradley asked. “I wouldn’t say the United States deserved what happened,” Rauf answered. “But the United States were an accessory to the crime that happened … In fact, it – in the most direct sense, Osama bin Laden is made in the U.S.A?” - Were the heads of government in Iran, Hamas and Sudan also “made in the U.S.A.?”… - New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg charges that opponents of Imam Rauf’s mosque “should be ashamed of themselves” and are bigots. Me, too, Mr. Mayor?... I am doing my job as reporter. I wish more reporters had gone beneath the shouting on both sides.”

George H. Kubeck, The mainstream media must stop this psychological warfare against the American people! There is hope. We saw Glenn Beck’s Tea Party Rally in Washington, D.C. with Sarah Palin as guest speaker.

St. Augustine

St. Augustine
In pursuit of the truth – www.cinopsbegone.com – Memorial of St. Augustine, Sat., Aug. 28th, 2010

“The saints are like older brothers and sisters to us in the family of God. They want to take us by the hand and lead us. They encourage us to say: “If this or that person can do it, why can’t I?”

These are the words St. Augustine thought he heard at the time of his conversion, and they were among the last encouragements he needed for risking the leap into faith and into God’s love.

“Throughout the centuries, there has been hardly another saint who has remained as close to us, as understandable, as Saint Augustine. In his writings, we encounter all the depths and heights of the human spirit, all the questioning and seeking and searching that we also experience today.

“Not without reason has he been called the first modern man. Nietzsche once said he could not abide Saint Augustine – he seemed too plebian and common. There is some justification for Nietzsche’s attitude, but it is precisely in these qualities that we discover Saint Augustine’s true Christian greatness.

“He could have been an aristocrat of the spirit, but for the sake of Christ and for the sake of his fellow men, in whom he saw Christ coming toward him, he left the ivory tower of the gifted intellectual in order to be wholly man among men, a servant of the servants of God.

“For the sake of Christ he emptied himself of his great learning. For the sake of Christ he became increasingly and ordinary person and the servant of all. In doing so he became truly a saint.

“For Christian holiness does not consist in being superhuman and in having an extraordinary talent or greatness that others do not have. Christian holiness is simply the obedience that puts us at God’s disposal wherever he calls us. – (The above taken from the Meditation for August 28th).

Christians in the World – (Meditation for August 27th)

“We have lost sight of the fact that Christians cannot live like “everyone else”. The foolish notion that there is no specifically Christian morality is merely one way of saying that a fundamental concept has been lost: the “distinctively Christian” as opposed to the models offered by the “world”.

“Even religious orders and congregations have confused true reform with a relaxation of the traditional austerity previously practiced. They have confused renewal with comfort.

“To give a small but concrete example: a religious reported to me that the downfall of his monastery began very concretely with the declaration that it was “no longer practical” for the religious to rise during the night to recite the nocturnal office… The religious replaced this uncontested but significant “sacrifice” by staying up late at night to watch television…

“But the present-day decline of the indispensible austerity of Christian life, beginning with the religious orders, is composed of just such “minor matters”. Christians must realize today more than ever before that the belong to a minority and are in opposition to all that appears good, natural, and logical, to what the New Testament calls “the spirit of the world”. Loretta Sanchez at St. Callistus Catholic Church

Loretta Sanchez at St. Callistus Catholic Church

To mark the Congressional Update at the “Orange County Forum Luncheon Program” Thurs. Aug. 26th, 2010, I am proud to republish from this blog’s archives letter dated, Aug. 3, 2009

Reference: www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Q3i9jOKGWI and Orange County Register article, “Garden Grove Vigil Focuses on Affordable Health Care” Aug. 3rd

It was wrong to use a prayer vigil by Rep. Loretta Sanchez to slam 5 other Orange County Representatives for not supporting Obama’s health care plan. The affair was called a “prayer vigil” but it turned out to be by Sanchez a political meeting to shame Republicans. She had the gall to use the Catholic Church hall for political purposes. What she could have done is challenge each representative in a public debate which she hasn’t got the guts to do. She is a coward. Will she have any town hall meetings on health care?

In Congress, Loretta Sanchez is one of the sponsors of the FOCA Bill, and voted against the Catholic positions on 1) Stem Cell Research Enhancement Act – passage (110), 2) Marriage Amendment Act (109th, 3) Child interstate Abortion Notification (109th), 4.) Abortion in military medical facilities (109th), 5.) Coercive abortion/ United Nations Population Fund (109th), 6.) Unborn Child Pain Awareness Act: passage (109th) 7.) Partial-Birth Abortion: passage (108th), and 8.) Unborn Victims of Violence Act (108th)

Loretta Sanchez is a modern day Herod. She has voted for partial-birth abortions three times. She does not support parental notification for minors seeking an abortion. She did not support Proposition 8, the California Marriage Amendment, and is for same-sex marriage.

She is a robot and is financed by the Culture of Death Advocates. (This was the term used by Pope John Paul II.) In the past, they included NOW, NARAL, Planned Parenthood, ACLU, Gay Agenda Advocates, and the Porn Industry.

If you can’t trust a person with their religion, how can you trust them with their politics? One of the major characteristics of a Catholic-in-name-only politician is to appear in religious settings. Sometimes, they show pictures of their baptism and confirmation. Sanchez has prostituted the idea Catholic with her voting record. She has poor judgment and uses the Catholic label for electioneering purposes. SHAME ON HER

The late John Cardinal O’Connor, “I firmly believe that we will either be a free people without abortion, or we will be a slave people, slave to the violence against human life.”

George H. Kubeck – In pursuit of the truth – www.cinopsbegone.com - Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2010

P.S. The above are some talking points and questions for tomorrow. I will miss being there. There are dozens of questions that will come to the mind of luncheon participants for Loretta Sanchez. Two come to my mind. Firstly, that she promises to work for an honest election. Secondly, that she will accept the challenge of her opponent Van Tran to participate in three debates. Loretta is one of the main reasons for the existence of this blog of almost 1000 letters. GHK

The Price of Liberty is Eternal Vigilance!

The Price of Liberty is Eternal Vigilance
In pursuit of the truth – www.cinopsbegone.com – Tuesday, Aug. 24th, 2010

Vigilance is an absolute necessity, particularly when our local newspaper “The Orange County Register” doesn’t want to expose the dangers we face via not informing its readers. We live in a pro-life and pro-marriage County. The atheists and the ACLU are at it; always to undermine, subvert and change the Constitution.

Historic religious symbols and marriage are foundational. We are shocked with activist Judge Vaughn Walker ridiculing the beliefs of all supporters of traditional marriage.

Almost all of the attacks on traditional American values are funded by rich individuals, misguided members of the ACLU, CEO’s, corporations and elitists with their own leftist secular religion.

Here is what the American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ) is fighting in the courts.

A. The Freedom from Religion Foundation, a group of atheists, is suing in a U.S. district court to expunge from public view our nation’s historic trust in God. In “Freedom from Religion Foundation” v. Ayers, they want the references to God eradicated from the “Capitol Visitor Center” in Washington , D.C.- this includes the National Motto, “In God We Trust,” and the Pledge of Allegiance (“one nation under God”). We have filed a friend-of-the-court brief on behalf of the ACLJ and Members of Congress.

B. IN Gonzalez v. Planned Parenthood of Los Angeles, Case No. 09-55010, we’re holding Planned Parenthood accountable to a multi-million dollar taxpayer scam. We’ve filed two brief, and we’re researching and preparing oral arguments. It will very likely reach the Supreme Court.

C. In ACLU v. DeWeese, we’re one again squaring off against the ACLU in their ongoing crusade to eliminate any hint or reference to religion. Our brief to the court of appeals is due this month, and we expect an oral argument early next year.

D. Following the ACLJ’S 9-0 Victory in Summum vs. City of Pleasant Grove at the Supreme Court earlier this year – Summum is back in federal court, alleging a new claim. They now argue that Planned Grove’s decision not to allow Summum to erect its monument in the same park where the city displays a Ten Commandments monument violates the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment. We have filed a motion for Summary Judgment, and Summum has moved for a Preliminary Injunction.

E. We continue working with Rep. Walter Jones to protect the constitutional rights of military chaplains to pray according to their faith. We’re supporting his legislation, H.R. 268, and urging President Obama to issue an Executive Order to lock in the rights of chaplains, regardless of what happens to the bill in Congress.

F. We have a number of cases currently in litigation involving the protection of the conscience rights of pro-life medical personnel – defending the right of pro-life healthcare workers from having to participate in abortion-related procedures.

G. We’re back at the United Stations, pushing to defeat the sinister anti-Christian “Defamation of Religions” proposal by the huge 57-nation Organization of the Islamic Conference, a dangerous resolution endorsing imprisonment or death for anyone speaking out against Islam. We expect a vote any day now. This resolution essentially outlaws the Christian faith – sharing your faith would become an international crime, punishable by imprisonment or death…

Dennis Prager: The Leftist Religion

Dennis Prager: The Leftist Religion
In pursuit of the truth – www.cinopsbegone.com – Monday, Aug. 23, 2010.

I was listening to Dennis Prager this morning and took some notes. As always he is very informative and educational. Dennis is on KLAC Talk Radio 870 from 9 AM to 12 Noon M-F. If you Google “Prager University” you can check out You Tube – The American Trinity and more info.

Leftism is a secular religion in our country. Some do not believe all of it but most do. Part of that religion is a certain worship of nature. They can adulate nature more than man. They regard religious people as simpletons. This religion has regulars and elitists from all sectors of our nation.

Some of their writers are Michael Kingsley, Frank Rich and Maureen Dowd. They have a deep contempt for conservatives and traditional American values. Every major left-wing writer will refer to opponents to the Moslem sight two blocks from Ground Zero as follows: evil, racist, intolerant, and bigoted and islamophobic.

Michael Kingsley cannot imagine any opposition that is not bigoted or intolerant. Now if Charles Krauthammer is incendiary then incendiary has no meaning. These lefties have little room for serious rational thought. I checked out two columns of Maureen Dowd and her mindset.

Going Mad in Herds: by Maureen Dowd, Aug. 21, 2010, The New York Times: Excerpts:

The bookstore gave the president a copy of “Freedom,” a new novel by Jonathan Franzen about a dysfunctional family in America. THIS IS APT, SINCE OBAMA IS THE HEAD OF THE DYSFUNTIONAL FAMILY OF AMERICA – A RATIONAL MAN RUNNING A MOST IRRATIONAL NATION, A HIGH-MINDED MAN IN A LOW-MINDED AGE.

The country is having some weird mass nervous breakdown, with the right spreading fear and disinformation that is amplified by the poisonous echo chamber that is modern media environment.

The dispute over the Islamic center has tripped some deep national lunacy. The unbottled anger and suspicion concerning ground zero show that Americans haven’t flushed the trauma of 9/11 out of their systems – making them easy prey for fearmongers...

Our Mosque Madness: by Maureen Dowd, Aug. 17, 2010, New York Times: Excerpts

Maybe, for Barack Obama, it depends on what the meaning of the word “is” is. When the president skittered back from his grandiose declaration at an iftar celebration at the White House Friday that Muslims enjoy freedom of religion in America and have the right to build a Mosque and community center in Lower Manhattan, he offered a Clintonesque parsing.

“I was not commenting, and I will not comment, on the wisdom of making the decision to put a mosque there,” he said the morning after he commented on the wisdom of making a decision to put a mosque there. “I was commenting very specifically on the right people have that dates back to our founding. That’s what our country is about.” Let me be perfectly clear, Mr. Perfectly Unclear President: You cannot take such a stand on a matter of first principle and then take it back the next morning…

Restore the Integrity of Marriage

RESTORE THE INTREGRITY OF MARRIAGE
In pursuit of the truth – www.cinopsbegone.com Sunday, Aug. 22, 2010

IN HIS 136-PAGE DECISION STRIKING DOWN PROP 8, JUDGE WALKER FOUND THAT CALIFORNIA VOTERS WERE LITERALLY “IRRATIONAL” WHEN THEY CAST THEIR VOTES FOR IT. INDEED, THE COURT VIA U.S. DISTRICT JUDGE VAUGHN WALKER WENT SO FAR AS TO RIDICULE THE BELIEFS OF ALL SUPPORTERS OF TRADITIONAL MARRIAGE IN AMERICA AND THROUGHOUT THE WORLD. YOU DECIDE ON SOME OF HIS LEGAL FINDINGS. THE JUDGE THINKS THEY ARE CONSTITUTIONAL.

“The evidence shows conclusively that moral and religious views from the only basis for a belief that same-sex couples are different from opposite-sex couples … thus, these interests do not provide a rational basis supporting Proposition 8. (pp. 130-131)

“Marriage is the state recognition and approval of a couple’s choice to live with each other, to remain committed one another and to form a household based on their own feelings about one another… 67

“Today, gender is not relevant … Gender no longer forms an essential part of marriage; marriage under law is a union of equals. (p. 113)

“Children do not need to be raised by a male parent and a female parent to be well-adjusted, and having both a male and female parent does not increase the likelihood that a child will be well-adjusted. (p.95)

“Indeed, the evidence shows beyond any doubt that parents’ genders are irrelevant to children’s developmental out comes. (p. 127)

“… Proposition 8 was premised on the belief that same-sex couples simply are not as good as opposite-sex couples … Whether that belief is based on moral disapproval of homosexuality, animus toward gays and lesbians or simply a belief that a relationship between a man and a woman is inherently better than a relationship between two men and two women, this belief is not a proper basis on which to legislate. (p.132) {I may need to read all 136 pages. ghk}

We respect you; but what you are saying is not right. It is wrong. Each homosexual has a mother and father. Would he choose to be brought up in a home of same-sex couples? We already have abortion which has seriously divided our country. Legalized same-sex marriage would do likewise. Study what has occurred in the history of other nations. No society or religion promotes same-sex marriage.

Same-sex marriage seriously undermines the institution of marriage, family and bringing up normal children. Marriage is a foundational pillar for church and state. You can’t legally change human nature. Marriage has always been between a man and a woman. There is a supreme arrogance for anyone to change the definition of marriage because of what one or another group feels like doing.

Restore Integrity to the Teaching Profession

Restore Integrity to the Teaching Profession
In pursuit of the truth – www.cinopsbegone.com – Friday, August 13, 2010

“You pay for your political and social agenda and I will pay for mine. But don’t force me as a public school teacher to pay for yours.” GHK

Unionism was never intended for public employees, least of all teachers. The unionist law processed by chief of staff Gray Davis and signed by then Governor Jerry Brown, SB. 160, the Rodda Act of 1975 has besmirched the public school teacher profession. The law killed the professional independent-minded public school teacher. This is a tragedy for all American children.

Common sense, reason and natural law have been relegated to the closet. In this teaching atmosphere, it is better to keep your mouth shut as a conservative. It was an absolute shame and arrogance for the CTA to contribute money to the anti-proposition 8 marriage campaign.

I was a member of the N.E.A., C.T.A., and W.T.A. when they were professional teacher organizations from 1962 to 1967. They had the respect of the community and the public. After 1975, they became a legalized political union of adversary relationships, exclusivity and agency fees.

It was all about teacher power! Guess who helped prostitute the teaching profession. It was community organizer Sol Alinksy with his radical ideas. Stop! I don’t want public school teachers paying a thousand dollars yearly to teacher unions to teach in our public schools. The public school teaching profession is an honorable one. Today, we have a leftist politicized teaching control elite! I believe the public owns the schools not the unions. Let’s have truth detectors and a reality check!

Thank you Phyllis Schlafly with your classic NEA’s Latest Shenanigans, 08/04/2010. It’s about NEA’s national convention in New Orleans. - http://www.humanevents.com/article.php?id=38377

1.) NEA will still be working and spending political money to force national health care on us.

2.) The NEA was the No. 1 big spender in federal and state political campaigns and ballot measures in the 2007-2008 election cycle… The NEA spent 56.3 million, four times more than any other big-bucks donor.

3.) The NEA’s political contributions go 95% to Democratic candidates or to promote leftist ballot issues. Teachers, who pay hundreds of dollars in annual dues to national, state and local affiliates, have no control over the NEA’s political advocacy or endorsement of candidates.

4.) Teachers in 28 states risk losing their jobs if they refuse to join a union. Some employees are forces to pay dues even if they don’t join a union… (to be continued with Part 2)

Who can we be as Knights of Columbus?

Who can we be as Knights of Columbus?
Thursday, August 12, 2010

I thought last month’s article by Dominican Father Gabriel B O’Donnell on Father Michael J. McGivney was enlightening and inspiring. Our founder was a priest. His name is Michael. Today he is Venerable Father Michael J. McGivney. He is on the road to sainthood. He is a model of holiness not only for priests but for all members of the Knights of Columbus.

One of the titles ascribed to him was “Protector of Christian Family.” Think of his mother and father, Patrick and Mary. They gave birth to 13 children in Waterbury, Connecticut. Six of the children died in infancy or childhood. So the first child, Michael, with four loving sisters and two brothers learned early of sorrow and the hard grip of poverty. He also learned about the powers of love and faith, and family fortitude.

We need all the help from him with respect to the issues of life, the sacredness of marriage and the family. These are fundamentals not only in our Church but in America.

I am looking at a flyer from the Knights of Columbus, 1 Columbus Plaza, New Haven, CT 06510.

The Knights of Columbus Day of the Unborn Child – March 25, 2004

“In keeping with the established tradition, the Order will be once again celebrating an “International Knights of Columbus Day of the Unborn Child” on March 25. The Day of the Unborn was instituted as an addition to the Order’s Crusade for Life and a symbol of commitment to building a culture that respects and protects every life.

“When celebrating the Day of the Unborn, councils are encouraged to conduct either a Pro-Life Mass or a rosary prayer service… Suggested Intercessions for the Cause of Life”

“For an end to abortion, artificial contraception, human cloning, in-vitro fertilization, euthanasia, unjust executions, and all sins against the dignity of human life, let us pray to the Lord…

“For our nation and for the entire family of man, that every society and culture may be reborn through the Gospel, and that we may devote ourselves more profoundly to the work of the New Evangelization, let us pray to the Lord.”

St. Dominic and the Dominican Laity

St. Dominic and the Dominican Laity
In pursuit of the truth – www.cinopsbegone.com – Solemnity of St. Dominic – Sunday, August 8, 2010

St. Dominic was the founder of the Dominican Order. He was patient, loved everyone, and was an amazing saint. He talked to God and talked about God. He lived the life of prayer, study, community and mission. These became the four pillars of the Dominican Laity; to build up each one’s spirituality.

“About 800 years ago, a poisonous heresy arose in southern France. Left unchecked, it could have threatened the very existence of the human race. Its adherents saw the human body as a prison for the soul, and thus adopted an anti-life philosophy. They forbade procreation, applauded divorce, and openly encouraged suicide.

“The Church called these beliefs Albigensianism.

“Seeking good men to fight the Albigensian heresy, Pope Honorius III approved the founding of the Order of Preachers, better known as the Dominicans. St. Dominic and his preachers (including St. Thomas Aquinas and St. Albert the Great) rose to the Pope’s challenge, using Truth (Veritas) to blot out heresy. They did their job so well that, nowadays, you’ll never meet an Albigensian.

“Yet, with God’s grace – and your support – I believe we will prevail once again… Answering the Call to Arms … from Pope Benedict XVI: “What is this latest, most ferocious attack on Christian truth and morality? Pope Benedict XVI calls it the Dictatorship of Relativism. Relativism is the “universal heresy” because it dissolves all truth and eliminates all categories of good and evil. This deranges the mind and morals of modern man to a dangerous – indeed frightening – degree.

“For example, relativism not only dictates that abortion is merely a personal choice, but also dictates that the government must guarantee the “right’ to this choice. This warped philosophy leads to evil schemes such as the Freedom of Choice Act – which, in a cruel irony, could eliminate the choice of doctors and nurses not to participate in abortions.

“Relativism can also cause people to take a good thing – such as holy matrimony – and tamper with its very definition to fulfill their own selfish purposes. Relativism is profoundly irrational – anything that denies objective truth denies reason. Despite this, modern relativistic man thinks of himself as supremely rational. But that is a good thing… And our advantage. I won’t go so far as to say we Dominicans invented rational discourse, … our order’s great saint and master – St. Thomas Aquinas – perfected it… we introduce students to the thinking of St. Thomas Aquinas and teach them to relate it to the perennial challenges of maintaining the faith in a secular culture…” Dominican Foundation – Dominican Friars - Province of St. Joseph – New York, N.Y. 800-850-5228 – www.Op-ST.JOSEPH.ORG

A Crisis: Catholic Latinos: Liberal on Gay Marriage

A Crisis: Catholic Latinos: Liberal on Gay Marriage
In pursuit of the truth – www.cinopsbegone.com – Tuesday, August 3, 2010

This is a very important article written by Joseph M. Palacios. He is Adjunct Professor of Sociology at the Center for Latin America Studies at Georgetown University. Dated 8/2/2010 http://newsweek.washingtonpost.com/onfaith/guestvoices/2010/07/us_catholic_latinos_liberal

“The Public Research Institute’s July 21, 2010, report on “Religion and Same-Sex Marriage in California” found that Latino Catholics stand in sharp contrast to many sectors of American public, especially Latino Protestants, … Regarding Latino Catholics the report, based on June 2010 polling of 3,351 California adults with oversamples for Latinos, highlights these two social dynamics.

“57% of Latino Catholics would vote for the legalization of same-sex marriage compare to 22% of Latino Protestants. Latino Catholics “say they trust the parents of gay and lesbian children more than their own clergy, as a source of information about homosexuality.”…

“According to the Pew Forum an estimated 31% of California population is Catholic. And of that between 40-50% is Latino. This Latino trend helps pull Catholic social attitudes, already more liberal than Protestants, towards greater support gay rights. Why is this so? I suggest the following reasons.

“Family First: Latino Catholics orient their social lives around the family … 36% of all Latino Children in California live in single-parent households… Research study shows; see that parents learn about gay issues from their children. Their moral and ethical judgments are primarily made through this social reality rather than abstract pronouncements from their church leaders.

“Catholic Communal versus Protestant Individual Faith: Catholicism is the communal faith that highlights the life cycle process through the sacraments of baptism, Eucharist, confirmation, and marriage… Protestant Latinos, on the other hand, have a faith that is individually driven through faith conversion (“accepting Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior”) that often separates a person from the Catholic sacramental life cycle process and the social fabric of the Catholic-based cultural celebrations. Fundamental Protestantism sees such Catholic cultural practices as contrary to a pure Christian faith. The study illustrates this communal-individual faith difference by noting that Latino Protestants (37%) lean toward a style of religious social engagement prioritizing “personal morality and faith” over a Catholic (59%) orientation that prioritizes “justice and action.”

“Latino Catholic Tolerance versus Protestant Fundamental Judgment: … Latino Catholics in the United States live in this social context that allows the free exercise of conscience rather than enforced scriptural fundamentalism or bishops’ and pastors’ exhortations in making decisions regarding homosexuality and gay rights … Further, as noted in the study, Catholic priests rarely mention homosexuality or gay issues in sermons except when forced by the bishops as happened during the Prop 8 campaign.

“Recently same-sex marriage and adoption rights were legally approved in the Catholic countries of Argentina, Spain, and Portugal, as well as Mexico City…” {Marriage is foundational not only to the Church but America.}

George H. Kubeck, We must change a negative into a positive. This applies not only to Latinos but all U.S. Catholics. We have the Catechism of the Catholic Church. Monthly sermons must be made a teaching tool.

Journalism vs. Journolism

Journalism vs. Journolism
In pursuit of the truth – www.cinopsbegone.com – Sunday, Aug. 1, 2010

Preface: “Journalism is meaningful only when it helps us to learn the truth. It can be a genuine calling when there is a truth that is good. Then it is right and necessary to help this truth to find its proper expression. The fundamental certainty that Good does exist and that we are created for it is not an obstacle to the work of the journalist, but rather makes it possible. It must be the first pillar of genuine journalistic ethics.” Pope Benedict XVI, Co-Workers of the Truth, p. 238. (GHK)

“It was July 22, the last day of ‘Journalism and Reporting,’ the summer class I* was teaching at Georgetown University. For the last day I made the point I had made on the first day. There is no such thing as objectivity. BUT THERE IS SUCH A THING AS HONOR.

“This is at the heart of journolist scandal. The Journolist was an Internet community of journalists who reinforced each other’s liberal bias and plotted strategies for ensuring the most favorable coverage for the Obama administration.

The scandal has revealed again – as if more evidence was in need – that the American media is liberal. But the deeper tragedy involves the self-termination of conscience evident in the Journolist’s boosterism. The real sorrow is the total absence of conscience & of honor.

“HONOR AND CONSCIENCE. I told my students: They are what make you give a fair and honest quote to a source you may not like. It what makes you recognize the basic humanity of a politician you hate. It’s what makes you risk a job because you think you’re editor is asking you to do something immoral..

“What is so awful about the Journolist is that very few of the people on it seemed to step back from the THE BITTER LEFT WING AND HATEFUL GROUPTHINK. And why should they? They all know the same people , went to similar schools, and have the same politics. Celebrating the election of Obama was one thing. BUT WHEN THE

JOURNOLISTS’S ANTI-PALIN TSUNAMI ROSE JUST SECONDS AFTER SHE WAS NAMED THE NOMINEE, ALMOST NO ONE SPOKE UP AND SAID, ‘HEY, WE’VE KNOW THIS WOMAN FOR THREE MINUTES. LET’S HAVE A SENSE OF FAIR PLAY. LET’S GET THE FACTS.’

“The truth is, most journalists are liberal, and most of them lie. And they lie both because of bias, but more importantly because they have no sense of honor… Being liberal is one thing. But a man with no conscience is called a psychopath… Forget the unspoken blackballing of certain topics (is the Catholic Church as a fortress of common sense and sanity despite 40 years of liberalism a Fresca? The development of clear fetal pictures and how it relates to abortion?... Forget all that because I have a Fresca for Shafer. Go back through the hiring records of Slate, CBS, ABC, the Washington Post, the New York Times, and the rest of the mainstream media.

Reveal not only who was hired, but who was not. Go back thirty years… Talk to people who were not hired, whose pieces were rejected, who never made it to the club…

Interview the gifted writers who were sent to Siberia or had to change careers because they were denied entry. Do a series on how it affected coverage over the last 40 years. Blow up the Politburo and produce a real hidden history of the United States. That ain’t a Fresca. That’s a book.” *THE ABOVE by Mark Gauvreau Judge, author of several books.
