A Message from the Nat. Org. for Marriage (NOM)

A Message from the Nat. Org. for Marriage (NOM)

Ref. bbrown@nationformarriage.org – Nov. 18/10 – www.cinopsbegone.com – Tuesday, Nov. 23/10

“It’s 1970 for marriage!” [It’s a ref. to 1973 for abortion.] Archbishop Joseph Kurtz, who spoke these words, heads up the marriage efforts of the Catholic Church in America. [Congratulations] This week he was voted Vice-President of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops. (USCCB)…

“Saying today is like 1970 for marriage,” Archbishop Joseph E. Kurtz of Louisville, Ky., urged his fellow bishops Nov. 15 to look at the challenges to traditional marriage as if they could see Roe vs. Wade on the horizon… “He updated the bishops on various projects to reinforce the Church’s teaching about the sanctity of marriage, including the release of new multimedia materials and active work in battling legislative efforts to change legal definitions of marriage in order to legalize same-sex marriage…

Other bishops in the audience responded by calling for building new bridges to other Christian churches that respect life and marriage – especially evangelicals. This is a heartening development! At the same time, the USCCB elected a new president. If you are not Catholic, let me tell you: The Archbishop of New York has always been, by tradition, the closest thing to the head of Catholic Church in America… Archbishop Timothy Dolan … said something pretty interesting from a NOM perspective; in an interview with the National Catholic Register: “Robby George is one of my heroes!”

Princeton Prof. Robert George is the founding Chairman of the Board of the NOM… This is very good news, and not just for Catholics. To defend marriage today, people of good will of all races, creeds and colors need to come together.

Gay-marriage advocates are become increasingly aggressive and expansive about what their cause should entail for faith communities. The nation’s largest gay rights group, the “Human Rights Campaign,” recently issued a press release taking credit for changing the Mormon Church’s views on sex and marriage… “Opposes bullying and unkindness towards gay people – and other people too!”

This week a spokesman for the LDS Church issued a statement rebuking HRC’s “absurd” claims affirming that LDS teachings on gay sex – it’s wrong – and marriage – it’s a union of husband and wife – have not changed and will not change… Here I am on Fox News debating the Iowa judges election results with a rep from the very same group which absurdly called the Iowa’s people great victory a “thuggish””mugging.”

We cannot stand on the sidelines, or stay in our comfort zones. We have to have the COURAGE to reach across our differences to what we share in common – to defend the common good – the good of children, the truth about human sexual power and passion, and the urgent moral need to sacrifice to protect defend and renew marriage…

When Newsweek called me to do a prolife, I was pretty sure it was going to be a “hit” piece… Well the profile is out: “Gay Marriage’s Worst Opponent.”… NOM is emerging as the most feared organization of the gay left because we are smart, smiling, likeable – and we win!..

George H. Kubeck, There is a price President Brian Brown pays! His hate mail is divided into 2 categories. 1) - To the police 2) - to the labeled opposition. One riled caller threatened to hang him… another to donate a pipe bomb to his office… Please financially support NOM – 2029 K Street, NW. Suite 300, Washington, DC. 2000

Why Did Loretta Sanchez Win?

Why Did Loretta Sanchez Win?
In pursuit of the truth – www.cinopsbegone.com – Saturday, November 20, 2010

Preface: “The courage to recognize the truth and the joy we take in it are fundamental marks of the Christian Faith. It is through them that we come to understand once more the missionary mandate of the Church… The truth that is bestowed on us does not come from ourselves. We cannot take any credit for it, but neither are we allowed to conceal it out of a false humility… our speech must not cause us to lapse into a relativism that rejects truth… God wills the salvation of all; he wants us to become ministers of salvation by bringing the light of truth into the world…as messengers of truth we can be co-workers for the redemption of the world.” Pope Benedict XVI, Meditation entry, Nov. 17th

It would be wise for all dioceses to have indirectly a panel discussion on this CINOP matter so that the truth can be arrived at. Otherwise, we will have e-mails like the following truths but maybe not the whole truth on the CINOP [Catholic-in-name-only politician.]

1.How close is the Catholic Church in California to the Democratic Party? They are too close. They are so close that they have been blindsided by non-Catholic liberal progressive ideas and principles. For example, if House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was a Republican, she would have been excommunicated by the California Catholic bishops many months ago. But she is a D.!

2.What is the difference between Pro-Life and Peace and Justice. Pro-life focuses on absolute evils, like abortion, abortion on demand, partial-birth abortions, infanticide, assisted-suicide, euthanasia, same-sex marriage and embryonic stem-cell research etc. They are not negotiable and there is no compromise. Peace and Justice focuses on prudential and negotionable issues, particularly the option for the poor. It could be war, wages, housing, jobs, immigration etc.

3. Until 2005, I was on the task force with six others created by Bishop Jaime Soto. Our work was to establish a pro-life representative in each parish of the Diocese. We succeeded. The focus was to be on pro-life issues. Two years ago, It was a mistake to combine it with the prudential issues of peace and justice. It is called the Catholic Legislative Network. It failed to inform Catholic voters on the Calif. CINOP. [Jim Costa was defeated on political not values issues.]

4.If Christianity was outlawed, what evidence could be brought against you to prove you are a Christian? In California, my accusers would be CINO Governor Jerry Brown and Lieutenant Governor, the Mayor Newsom of San Francisco. Why? They know that I am an enemy of same-sex marriage. In fact, all of my accusers would be California’s CINO politicians including Pelosi, Sanchez, Correa and Solorio. “All of this is a badge of honor.”

5.Except for California, New York, Massachusetts and Connecticut etc., the rest of the nation was victorious on pro-life. Thanks to the tremendous work of National Right to Life, Catholic Advocate, Susan B. Anthony List, Students for Life, Americans United for Life, Priests for Life, CatholicVoteAction.org, Focus on the Family, Coral Ridge Ministries etc. I believe more than 30 CINO politicians were defeated on Nov. 2nd. Well done! Please help California in 2012!

The Letters of Pier Giorgio Frassati - 1901-1925

The Letters of Pier Giorgio Frassati – 1901-1925

To Members of “Catholic Youth of Pollone” Italy: Sunday, July 29, 1923. Pier Giorgio gave this speech on the occasion of the blessing of the flag of which he was the godfather. [Here are excerpts of letters from Pier G. Frassati, “Letters to His Friends and Family”, St. Paul, Staten Island, New York, 2009] - - Young people of Pollone,

“Because this flag, young people, represents in a symbolic way a divine doctrine, given by Jesus Christ for our redemption: Young people, I see on your flag the motto “Prayer, Action and Sacrifice.” These are three words which summarize a very vast program whose implementation requires our energies and those of generations to come.

Prayer is the noble supplication which we lift up to the throne of God. It is the most efficient means to obtain from God the graces which we need, and especially the strength of preserving in these times, in which the hatred of the sons of the devil is breaking out violently against the sheep who are faithful to the fold. In recommending heartfelt pray to you, I am including all the practices of piety, first of all the most Holy Eucharist..

After having fortified our spirit by applying ourselves with great diligence to works of mercy, and after having intensely studied the questions which are troubling us, then we can throw ourselves into the apostolate. And there are 3 distinct apostolates.

First of all there is the apostolate of good example. We Catholics must strive to have our whole life guided by Christian moral law. Then there is the apostolate of charity by going among those who suffer and comforting them … because the Catholic religion is based on charity which is nothing other than the most perfect Love. Finally there is the apostolate of persuasion. This is the one of the most beautiful and necessary. Young people, approach your colleagues at work who live their lives away from the Church … Persuade those unfortunate people to follow the ways of God, strewn with many thorns, but also many roses.”

To Antonio Villani, Pollone, August 20, 31, 1923 “ I believe that life should be a continual preparation for the next life, because one doesn’t know the day or the hour of our passing.

“I’m very glad that you want to become a member of the great family of St. Dominic, where, as Dante says, “You grow fat if you don’t rant and rave.” The obligations are very small otherwise you must know that I wouldn’t be able to belong to and order that required a lot.

When the Saint started the third order he instituted it as an army to do battle against heretics and thus it has very strict rules closely following the ancient rule of the first order, but now that it has been modernized there are no traces left of the strict obligations. We need to recite the Dominican Office of Our Lady of the Rosary every day. But if you deliberately omit this for one day, or for a few days you don’t commit a mortal sin.

I would be very pleased if you take the name of Fra Girolamo, not because it is the name I have as the son of St. Dominic, but because it recalls a figure who is dear to me and certainly to you as well, since you share my feelings against corrupt morals, Girolamo Savonarola, whose name I most unworthily bear… Think about and then write to me with your ideas regarding this…”

To Costantino Guardia Riva, Turin, October 24, 1923 –“I am really upset that you hung the Flag – which so many times, as unworthy as I am, I have carried in religious procession – from the balcony in honor of a man [Mussolini] who undoes works of mercy, who doesn’t keep the fascists under control but even allows them to kill Ministers of God like Father Minzoni etc.. allows them to do other filthy things and then tries to cover up their misdeeds by putting the Crucifix in the Schools, etc…” George H. WHY DID JUDEO-CHRISTIAN VALUES LOSE IN THE 47TH?

Why Did Christian-Judeo Values Lose in the 47th?
In pursuit of the truth – www.cinopsbegone.com – Tuesday, November 16, 2010

Why did Loretta Sanchez win in the 47th Congressional District? Why did normal Judeo-Christian Values of Life, Marriage and Family lose? HERE IS ONE RESPONSE! THERE ARE OTHERS!

THE NAME OF THIS YEAR’S “CATHOLIC CAMPAIGN FOR HUMAN DEVELOPMENT (CCHD)” COLLECTION HAS BEEN CHANGED TO “NATIONAL NEEDS” IN THE DIOCESE OF ORANGE.

Attention pro-life friends, Let’s join with the American Life League (ALL) in the effort to reform CCHD by raising the awareness of Catholic parishioners about the funding of groups that promote abortion and the violation of Catholic teaching. 13 bishops nationwide have cancelled this collection this year.

WHY? WATCH AMERICAN LIFE LEAGUE’S 2 BRIEF VIDEOS ON THE TOPIC AND REAL CATHOLIC VIDEO TO SEE THE TRUTH FOR YOURSELF.
American Life League reports www.all.org/cchd and then link to the 45 page report sent to EVERY ordinary in the U.S. and to EVERY diocesan pro-life director on June 1, 2010.

Real Catholic TV at “CCHD-ALINSKY” http://www.realcatholictv.com/cia/01cchd/ - This is a full explanation of the USCCB, CCHD and the history – and who some of the players are.
http://youtube.com/watch?v=9Q3i9jOKGWI (6 minute video) – Pro-abortion

Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez with Orange County Congregations Community Organization (OCCCO) at St. Callistus, Garden Grove. They called it a prayer vigil. Watch it and decide for yourself.

The 1 hr. and 30 minute event was a campaign rally to which ONLY pro-abortion Sanchez was invited (August of last year). She was promoted on the OCCCO advertising flyer as the “Guest of Honor” at St. Callistus Church in Garden Grove. Bishop Luong was in attendance throughout the rally. {Note he was the director representative of Bishop Brown.} OCCCO received another grant in August 2010 from the diocese of Orange. {This time the directed representative for the grant was Bishop Flores}. OCCCO is also supported by the National CCCHD collection from the USCCB, all with the approval of Bishop Brown who keeps 25% of the annual collection for local distribution.

Now reference American Life League article (October 27, 2010) http://www.all/article.php?id=13062 - “… it is now clear that the CCHD will most likely not release its 2010 grantee list in time for this year’s November collection… The CCHD might affirm its commitment to the ‘Review and Renewal” effort by delaying the collection until the grantee list is released and full transparency is achieved this year. Also we look forward to the CCHD addressing the question of the additional 61 GRANTEES involved in the intrinsically immoral activities. What’s the bottom line? PLEASE DO NOT CONTRIBUTE TO THIS UP-COMING COLLECTION (CCHD NOR NATIONAL NEEDS) SCHEDULED FOR THIS SUNDAY, NOV. 21ST, 2010.

George H. Kubeck, for the last several years we have contributed $10. Monthly to ALL. Do you remember the millions of post cards sent to President Obama to stop the FOCA Bill? Loretta Sanchez was A SPONSOR OF FOCA!

Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati - (1901-1925)

Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati – (1901-1925)

Pier Giorgio is a model for the young and the old; appropriately in today’s America. (Ref. Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati – An Ordinary Christian, by Maria Di Lorenzo, translated by R. Ventresca, Pauline Books, Boston 2004)

“On May 22, 1922, at the age of twenty-one, Pier Giorgio was received into the Third Order Dominicans and took the name, Girolamo, in honor of Savonarola, a man he greatly admired. Savonarola was a Dominican priest who had been burned at the stake in 1498 for his fiery preaching against the widespread corruption in the Church and society.

Many university organizations and periodicals of the early twentieth century saw Savonarola as a model of coherence and radical commitment. Some of the Dominican fathers tried to convince Pier Giorgio to choose the name of another canonized or beatified member of the Order. But Pier Giorgio refused to budge.

The story of Savonarola and his energetic struggle against the tyranny of the Medici family fascinated Pier Giorgio, and after becoming a member of the Third Order, he began signing his letters, fra Girolamo. To Antonio Villani, who was also interested in the Dominicans, Pier Giorgio wrote, “I am a fervent admirer of this friar, who died as a saint at the stake. In becoming a tertiary, I wanted to take him as a model, but I am far from being like him.”

Pier Giorgio’s decision to make this commitment matured over the course of a few years. From the time he first encountered Dominican spirituality in 1918, Pier Giorgio had the time and opportunity to discern his calling to the life of a lay Dominican. In the Order, he found the way to serve as a witness to the truth in the spirit of that great Spanish saint, Dominic de Guzman, who founded the Order of Preachers (or Dominicans as they came to be more commonly known) in 1215.

In 1923, deeply moved and with tears streaming down his face, Pier Giorgio professed final vows in the Chapel of Our lady of Grace in Turin’s Church of St. Dominic, with Father Robotti as his sponsor. Recalling his visit to Turin in 1922 to celebrate the feast of St. Dominic, Father Martino Stanislao Gillet, the superior general of the Dominicans at the time, remembered the impression made on him by the small group of university students who had entered as lay members of the Order.

“They were all quite nice, but one in particular really caught my attention as having a special charm. He radiated such kindness that people were drawn to him. His name was Pier Giorgio Frassati. Pier Giorgio was one of that select group of young people that you find in every university these days, individual who have a longing for the supernatural, the true sign of an apostle. For him, religion was always a way of life, it was both light and strength, which illuminated and animated all human activity. Nothing was beyond its grasp and, at the same time, it has the power to broaden everything in life.

Pier Giorgio had only time enough to be a student in his short life, but it clear even then what kind of a man he would have been. Not quite an intellectual - that is, someone who dedicated his life to his own philosophy – but rather a man of action, determined to dedicate his philosophy to serving life.”

… A devout follower of St. Dominic, Pier Giorgio carried the rosary in his jacket pocket and would take it out at any place, any time, to pray. Pointing to his rosary one day, Pier Giorgio remarked, “I carry my testament in my pocket.” P. 51-3

Walking in the Footsteps

Walking in the Footsteps
In pursuit of the truth – www.cinopsbegone.com – Saturday, November 13, 2010

You can’t go wrong walking in the footsteps of either Popes John Paul II or Benedict XVI. Particularly in matters pertaining to life, family and marriage there is wisdom. Let’s check out other wisdom just during this past week in Joseph Cardinal Ratzinger’s book, “Co-Workers of the Truth” Meditations for Every Day of the Year, Ignatius Press, 1992.

“The very existence of heaven depends on the fact that Jesus Christ, as God, is man and has given human existence a place in the existence of God himself (cf. Rahner, Shriften II, p. 221). One is in heaven and to the degree one is in Christ, where one finds the true location of one’s existence as a human being in the existence of God himself. Heaven is, then, primarily a personal reality. It remains forever stamped by the historical origin in the Easter mystery of death and Resurrection.” Nov. 5th

“Humanity needs eternity; every other hope is too short for it. And it is not true that eternity robs humanity of time, impoverishes it, and makes it unimportant. On the contrary, only eternity can give man time. If a person’s death is worthless, then his life is worthless too… A psychologist pointed out … that the embezzled heaven is the crucial sickness of earth: because people forget heaven, the earth becomes empty and men become ill. If we promise paradise to later generations but only nothingness, only death, to each individual, then we have promised nothing to anyone… A present that is only present and has no future has no hope. The nothingness that follows it also pollutes the present and makes it unbearable. Only eternity can unite present and future… Those who have talked us out of our belief in heaven, or would like to talk us out of it, have not given us the earth in exchange but have made it desolate … have covered it with darkness. We must find once more the courage to believe in eternal life with all our heart. Then we shall have the courage to love the earth and to work at building its future. Let us dare to believe once more in eternal life, to live for eternal life. We shall see how life automatically becomes richer, greater, more free & less cramped.” Nov. 10

“Catechesis must return to being not one opinion among others, but a certainty that draws on the faith of the Church, the contents … exceed the common view… the concept of “eternal life” is scarcely mentioned in a relatively large part of modern catechesis … only in reference of how to postpone its arrival or how to lessen its accompanying circumstances. Since many Christians, moreover, have lost their eschatological sense, death is surrounded by silence, by anxiety, or by an attempt to relegate it to the ranks of the trivial. For centuries, the Church has taught us to pray that death will not take us by surprise, that we will be given time to prepare for it; now a sudden death is looked upon as a blessing. But not to accept and respect death is not to accept and respect life itself.” Nov.12th

First:
A call upon the Democratic Party boss to apologize or resign for the following remarks with reference to 405/605 Tea Party Patriots and other Tea Party Groups in Orange County:

This is Martin Wisckol’s article in the Buzz of the “Orange County Register”, Nov. 8/10 – “The Chairmen of the two major parties jousted good-naturedly over vermicelli and egg rolls on Election Day, with Democratic Party Boss Frank Barbaro jabbing his counterpart over efforts to welcome Tea Partiers in the GOP. “ mwisckol@ocregister.com

“I don’t know how you’re able to control them,” Barabaro told Scott Baugh. “How are you going to run the country when your supporters are anarchist? You can have them. They’re going to be the downfall of the Republican Party. The tea baggers I know are crazy.”

To which GOP boss Baugh replied with a smile, “Theirs is nothing wrong with robust debate.”

Second:
A call upon Pro-Marriage and Life groups in Orange County to organize: Not only is California financially bankrupt but it is also spiritually and morally bankrupt with our new Governor Jerry Brown, and Lieutenant Governor Mayor Gavin Newsom of San Francisco. These two are enemies of normal marriage and are fighting to undo Proposition 8 in California. There is also the outrageous & shameful scandal that they are Catholic-in- name only politicians. (CINOPs)

Third:

On the subject of robust debate come and listen to speakers Eric Golub, Political Humorist, U.S. Congressmen Dana Rohrbacher and Ed Royce, and Brad Dacus, Attorney @ Pacific Justice Institute: Where? 405/605 TEA PARTY PATRIOTS – VICTORY CELEBRATION MEETING

St. Paul to the California CINOP

St. Paul to the California CINOP
In pursuit of the truth – www.cinopsbegone.com – Friday, November 5, 2010

Reference: Paul in Athens - Act. 17: 16-34

“While Paul was waiting for them in Athens, he was deeply troubled by all the idols he saw everywhere in the city… He also had a debate with some of the Epicurean and Stoic philosophers… Then they took him to the Council of Philosophers. “Come and tell us more about this new religion,” they said…

“He is the God who made the world and everything in it. Since he is Lord of heaven and earth, he doesn’t live in man-made temples, and human hands can’t serve his needs. He himself gives life and breadth to everything, and he satisfies every need there is. From one man he created all the nations throughout the whole earth. He decided beforehand which should rise and fall and he determined their boundaries.

“His purpose in all of this was that the nations should seek after God and perhaps feel their way toward him and find him – though he is not far from anyone of us. For in him we live and move and exist. As one of your own poets says, “WE ARE HIS OFFSPRING.” And since this is true we shouldn’t think of God as an idol designed by craftsmen from gold or silver or stone.

“God overlooked people’s ignorance about these things, but now he commands everyone everywhere to turn away from idols and turn to him. For he has set a day for judging the world with justice by the man he has appointed, and he proved to everyone who this is by raising him from the dead. When they heard Paul speak of the resurrection of a person who had been dead, some laughed, but others said, “We want to hear more about this later…”

Attention: Governor Jerry Brown, Lieutenant Governor Mayor Gavin Newsom (San Francisco). Congress Repress:, Mike Thompson District 1, George Miller 7, Nancy Pelosi 8, Jackie Speier 12, Anna Eshoo 14, Dennis Cardoza 18, Xavier Becerra 31, Lucille Roybal 34, Grace Napolitano 38, Linda Sanchez 39, Joe Baca 43, Loretta Sanchez; and State Assembly 69, Jose Solorio, State Senator Lou Correa 34.

George H. Kubeck, P.S. It is a tragedy and atrocious scandal for California to be led by unprincipled CINO politicians. They have repudiated natural law, reason and their precious Catholic Faith in their support of abortion on demand, same-sex marriage, and embryonic stem-cell research. They did this for the price of money, false honor and prestige and that beautiful house and car. They are at war with the concept of marriage between a man and a woman.

Couple the above with the departing dysfunctional CINO and RINO Gov. Arnold and his proposition 23 which kill job creation in California. We are punished with bankrupt economic, intellectual and moral ideas of the leadership.

BUT WAIT! THE GOOD NEWS IN THE REST OF THE COUNTRY IS UNBELIEVABLE. In Iowa 3 Supreme Court Justices were recalled because they prostituted the Constitution on Marriage. ALSO, I believe that most of the 62 Democratic Congressional losses were CINO Politicians. Thanks be to God!
