Insights on the Catholic Laity and Theologians*

Insights on the Catholic Laity and Theologians *

“The Church, it is said, has been given the ministry of shepherd; she proclaims the Gospel for the faithful, but does not teach for theologians. But such a distinction between proclamation and teaching is profoundly contrary to nature of the biblical word.

“The Church has brought about the emancipation of simple souls and has promised even to them the ability to be philosophers in the true sense of the word, that is, to comprehend what is essential to human nature as well as, or even better than those who are learned.

“Jesus’ words about the lack of understanding the wise and intelligent and the depth of understanding among infants and children (Mt 11:25) are particularly apposite in this context: they establish Christianity as a religion for the people, as a faith in which there is no class distinction.

“And in fact what is proclaimed in the homily is binding; that its nature. It does not propose this or that recreational activity or a kind of religious entertainment. Its purpose is to tell man what he is and what he must do to be himself. But how can the teaching of the Church be binding if it is not binding on theologians?

“The essence of the Church’s teaching ministry consists precisely in the fact that the proclamation of the Faith is the valid touchstone for theology as well. This proclamation is the object of the reflection of theology.

“The faith of simple souls is far from being a kind of watered –down theology for the laity, so-called “popular Platonism”; the relationship is exactly the opposite: proclamation is the standard for theology, not theology for proclamation.

“It is indeed correct that the Church in her ministry as shepherd is authorized to proclaim the Gospel, not to teach theology as a science. But the ministry of proclamation is likewise the ministry of theology.”
George H. Kubeck *Cardinal Ratzinger, “Co-Workers of the Truth”, Jan. 29th, - Cinops be gone, Sunday, 1-30-11

P.S. Recently, a “Spirituality in Higher Education” in-depth survey was conducted among Catholic college students by the Higher Education Research Institute. It revealed some startling results.

1.) 71% of Catholic seniors believe same-sex couples should legally be able to marry. 2.) 57% of Catholic seniors believe that abortion should be legal. 3.) 49% of Catholic seniors believe if two unmarried people really like each other; it’s okay to have sexual relations, even if they’re barely acquainted. 4.) It’s no wonder then that only half of Catholic seniors say they attend Mass only “infrequently” and 22 % attend not at all…

The above same-sex marriage beliefs drive me up the wall. I don’t think that these Catholic seniors are the children of practicing Catholics. The parents have been ripped off by the Catholic colleges. Who can you trust anymore? I don’t want to ramble on about the CINOP in the U.S.A. and Canada. The CINOP is a horrendous scandal. In Canada in 2005, it was the CINOP [Liberal] who passed same-sex marriage laws? In our November elections about 30 CINOPs were voted out of office. Let’s continue to educate parishioners on marriage and vote another 30 or more out of office in 2012. We can all hold our heads high and proud to be Catholic.

The President's Address to the Nation*

The President’s Address to the Nation *
In pursuit of the truth – www.cinopsbegone.com – Thursday, January 27, 2011

Sadly, and in several ways the talk was meaningless to this pro-life and tea party activist. First of all, let’s thank President Obama for at least one positive change since he came to office in 2008. We are now definitely a right of center and pro-life nation. We are divided with 40% conservative, 20% liberal, and 40% independent or undecided. However, communication power rests with the 20%.

I wonder if President Obama took a peek on EWTN (Television) on Monday at the March for Life rallies in Washington, D.C. or the one in San Francisco on Saturday. Many young folks were there.

The President has created by his radical policies among ordinary folks a reasonable mindset of common sense, natural law, truth and the Constitution. President Obama must realize that the truth is the most powerful weapon for all Americans. Is this truth or politically correct truth? The challenge we have is this double standard politically correct news media and their agendas, past and present. They did not report the rallies in San Francisco and Washington, D.C. Why put us in the Twilight Zone?

For PC News, pro-life activity is not newsworthy and is to be ignored. In fact, that’s in their template. There exists only advocacy journalism for the culture of death agenda in America. That is dishonest and not fair. It is not journalism! Are pro-lifers or tea party members second-class citizens?

What do I mean by the culture of death agenda? 1) Their sincere belief in abortion on demand. 2) Same-Sex Marriage, Repeal of DADT and promote the Gay Agenda: 3) Embryonic Stem-Cell Research: 4) Removing the conscience clause from health care workers. Also it is wrong that tea party supporters in the public arena are fair game to be attacked and smeared. We salute these smeared persons and give them a badge of honor. This pc news media is really insulting you and me.

The President is lucky. He fits into the PC Agenda and they are rooting for him. This PC news media reminds me of Pravda in Russia during the Cold War. Most Russians did not believe in the commie line propaganda of truth from Pravda. The same is happening in America with PC Journalism. Fortunately, there exists honest journalism that competes with them.

The President wants to change and transform America so that we become like Europeans. He needs to check on Google “Prager University” video on The American Trinity. Also, he is seriously handicapped coming from Chicago where there is a collapse of Catholic identity and values. Can you imagine Rahm Emmanuel elected mayor? Our President’s association with Catholic-in-name-only politicians [CINOP] like Daley and Durbin has screwed up his mind.

Bill O’Reilly from Fox News is going to interview the President. Here are some questions. What are your core American values? Which one of the Founding Fathers is closest to your thinking? In what areas do you disagree with Founding Father Alexander Hamilton?

George H. Kubeck *when President Obama spoke to Congress there is a sign embedded above him on the wall which the politically correct media never shows for Presidents: It reads – “In God We Trust.”

Walk for Life - West Coast - 2011- San Francisco

Walk for Life – West Coast – 2011 – San Francisco – Sat. Jan. 22, 2011

Theme: Women deserve better than abortion!

Founders: Delores and Eva Muntean- They had gone to the March for Life in Washington, D.C. in 2000. – “Let’s do something in San Francisco.” There is a higher abortion rate than births in San Francisco and Washington, D.C. It takes a lot of planning for a March for Life. There are a lot of volunteers. A professional planner is putting together a manual* of how to organize a Walk for Life in your area. There are about 200 buses coming in. Also, a 33-man sailing ship will accompany us on our walk. There were about 50 thousand participants in this San Francisco Walk for Life. Educate and stop the move in society towards the acceptance of abortion. Science is on your side.

EWTN Coverage: Doug Kirk, Father Mark, Doug Barry: www.WalkforLifeWC.com and www.ewtn.com/prolife the whole month of January is devoted to life issues.

Selected Notes: “Mary and Michael travel in a motor home. Missing the forgiveness of themselves and to accept that forgiveness. Abortion is not a quick fix. They are not alone. They can be forgiven. Michael wants to wake up the sleeping Catholics.

This group of young people flew in from Utah. It was sponsored by the Knights of Columbus. They were members of Blessed Sacrament Church and St. Peter and Paul. “Amazing how many people are here. Still have to educate others.”

This is a wonderful peaceful protest. Stand up for what the gospel teaches. Serving the gifts we are given. Kids remember your habits. Have eternal values. Be a man in step with Christ.

His eminence Raymond Cardinal Burke: “We need a strong witness to give courage to others. Have encountered many young people at the March for Life and they have given their lives to Christ as a priest or consecrated religious.

Be sure to watch “Blood Money” at 6 P.M. It gives a true picture of what abortion is all about. Abortion is the leading cause of death in the world. 2/3rds of abortion would not occur if the father was opposed to the abortion.

The interview with Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone: We have a video series teaching the different aspects of marriage. Marriage is for the benefit of children, procreation and unity. We want a society that is in the best interests of children.
With Father Frank Pavone: “Silent No More Campaign” – Signs: “I Regret My Abortion.” – “I Regret Lost Fatherhood.”

Speaker Abby Johnson and her book www.UnPlannedBook.com we must be willing and able to get uncomfortable for life. Organizer David B. “40 Days for Life” emphasizing prayer and the ones working in the abortion sites… Kathleen Eaton founder of Birth Choice – These are fully licensed medical clinics. They have a prospective of pro-life, abstinence, faith and family. Doctors and nurses are at Birth Choice. “We do pre-natal care.” We are taking over from Planned Parenthood in the communities. Expansion from 5 to 8 clinics in California. By God, God will use us. Please pray for Birth Choice…

The Wisdom of Ronald Reagan*

The Wisdom of President Ronald Reagan*
In pursuit of the truth – www.cinopsbegone.com – Tuesday, January 25, 2011

Let’s focus on common sense and natural law

Ronald Reagan on Government
“Man is not free unless government is limited.” – We have long since discovered that nothing lasts longer than a temporary government program.” – “Government tends not to solve problems, only rearrange them.” – It is rather to make it [government] work with us, not over us; to stand by our side, not ride on our back. Government can and must provide opportunity, not smother it’ foster productivity not stifle it.”

Ronald Reagan on Deficits
“We don’t have a trillion-dollar-debt because we haven’t taxed enough; we have a trillion-dollar-debt because we spend too much.” – “Inflation is as violent as a mugger, as frightening as an armed robber and as deadly as a hit man.”

Ronald Reagan on Communism (Marxist Socialism)
“Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall.” – “ I believe that communism is another sad, bizarre chapter in human history whose last pages even now are being written.” – “Communism only works in Heaven, where they don’t need it, and in Hell where they already have it.”

Ronald Reagan on Liberty
“I have always believed that America is strongest and freest and happiest when it is truest to the wisdom of its founders.” – “Individual liberty depends on keeping government under control.”

Ronald Reagan on America’s Youth
“… Always remember that you are Americans, and it is your birthright to dream great dreams in this sweet and blessed land, truly the greatest, freest, strongest nation on earth.” – “Each year, after my election in 1980, we hosted Young America’s Foundation at the White House. Together we accomplished much of what has been known as the Reagan Revolution. [In 2006, Young America Foundation opened the Reagan Ranch Center in downtown Santa Barbara, California.]”

Ronald Reagan on Inspiration and Families
“If we ever forget that we are ‘One Nation under God,’ then we will be nation gone under.” – “There is no institution more vital to our nation’s survival than the American family.”- “… As long as we remember our first principles and believe in ourselves, the future will always be ours.”

A Notre Dame Witness for Life

A Notre Dame Witness for Life

William McGurn is a columnist at the Wall Street Journal and an alumnus of Notre Dame University. These are extracts of his address he gave at Notre Dame on April 23, 2009.

Good evening.

“It is an honor to be with you on this campus. It is a joy to be here under the auspices of Notre Dame’s Center for Ethics and Culture – and the Notre Dame Fund for the Protection of Human Life… The precipitate cause of our gathering tonight is the honor and platform our university has extended to a President whose policies reflect clear convictions about unborn life. These convictions are not in doubt. In July 2007, the candidate spelled them out in a forceful address to a Planned Parenthood convention in our nation’s capital.

“Before that audience, he declared that woman’s “fundamental right” to an abortion was at stake in the coming election. He spoke about how he had “put Roe at the center” of his “lesson plan on reproductive freedom” when he was a professor – and how he would put it at the center of his agenda as president. He invoked his record in the Illinois state senate, where he fought restrictions on abortion, famously including one on partial-birth abortion.

He said that the “first thing” he wanted to do as President was to “sign a Freedom of Choice Act.” And he ended by assuring his audience that “on this fundamental issue,” he, like they, would never yield.

“These were his promises as a candidate. His actions as President – his key appointments, his judicial nominees, his lifting of restrictions on federal funding for abortion providers overseas, the green light given to the destruction of human embryos for research, his targeting of “conscience clause” protection for health care workers – all these actions are fully consistent with his promises. It is precisely this terrible consistency that makes it so dispiriting to see our university extend to this man her most public platform and an honorary doctorate of laws…

“So tonight our hearts carry a great sadness… We come to affirm the sacredness of life. This witness is the only reason for a University of Notre Dame. We believe that there are self-evident truths about the dignity of each human life… For most of her life, Notre Dame has served as a symbol of a Catholic community struggling to find acceptance in America – a yearning to make our own contributions to this great experiment in ordered liberty…

“At a time when we told to “engage” and hold “dialogue,” their timidity [the Notre Dame brand of leadership] thunders across this campus… The discord that this year’s commencement has unleashed – between Notre Dame and the bishops, between members of the Notre Dame community, between Notre Dame and thousandths of discouraged Catholic faithful – all this derives from an approach that for decades has treated abortion as one issue on a political scorecard…

“Maximum determination. Ladies and gentlemen, the unborn child’s right to life represents the defining civil-rights issue of our day – and it ought to be the defining civil-rights issue on this campus… Imagine the that Notre Dame might provide on a fall afternoon, if millions of Americans who had sat down to watch a football game suddenly found themselves face to face with a Notre Dame professor or student standing up to say, “I fight for the unborn.” George H. Kubeck, Jan. 22/11

George F. Will on the Role of the 112th Congress*

George F. Will on the Role of the 112th Congress*
In pursuit of the truth – www.cinopsbegone.com – Friday, January 21, 2011

“The 112th Congress must begin the process of restoring the national regime and civic culture the founders bequeath. This will require reviving the rule of law, reasserting the relevance of the Constitution, and affirming the reality of American exceptionalism...

“The eclipse of Congress by the executive branch and other agencies is Congress’ fault. It is the result of lazy legislating and lax oversight. Too many “laws’ actually are little more than pious sentiments endorsing social goals- environmental, educational, etc. – the meanings of which are later defined by executive branch rule-making…

“Conservative senators passing through the Capitol reception room should ponder the portrait of Ohio’s Robert Taft (d. 1953) who was conservativism when it stressed congressional supremacy. America was born in recoil against an overbearing executive’s “repeated injuries and usurpations” (Declaration of Independence); modern conservatism was born in reaction against executive aggrandizement, first by Franklin Roosevelt, and then by his acolyte Lyndon Johnson…

“Today, conservatives should curl up with a good book by a founding editor of National Review – James Burnham’s “Congress and the American Tradition”… The idea of American exceptionalism is obnoxious to progressives, who, evidently unaware of the idea’s long pedigree (it traces to Alexis de Tocqueville) and the rich scholarship concerning the idea, assume it is a crude strain of patriotism. America, Tocqueville said, is unique because it was born – free of a feudal past, free from an entrenched aristocracy and established religion.

“The American Revolution was political, not a social revolution; it was about emancipating individuals for the pursuit of happiness, not about the state allocating wealth and opportunity… Americans are exceptionally committed to limited government because they are exceptionally confident of social mobility through personal striving…

“Two years into Barack Obama’s presidency, we now know what he meant about “hope” and “change” – he and other progressives hope to change our national character. [Personally, I find this absolutely disgusting.] Three weeks into his presidency, Newsweek, unhinged by adoration of him, and allowing its wishes to father its thoughts, announced that “we are all socialists now” and that America “is moving toward a modern European state.” The electorate emphatically disagreed created the 112th Congress, with its exceptionally important agenda.”

George H. Kubeck *A classic analysis in the Opinion Column, Orange County Register, Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2011

P.S. I recall the cold war with Russia and we had these useful idiots among us. They were the members of the front organizations for Communist Russia. They were pushing any destructive idea which would undermine our country. (Like unilateral disarmament)

Today we have Newsweek magazine spouting off socialist Pravda propaganda. They are financed by the aristocracy of filthy rich progressives. One bought Newsweek with 15 million dollars in debt. Now he is offering readers a yearly subscription of $20. It would be wise also to check out the financial status of the New York Times. “AS FOR PRESIDENT OBAMA – DO YOU TRUST HIM?”

Archbishop Charles Chaput's Dire Predictions - Part I

Archbishop Charles Chaput’s Dire Predictions – Part I

In pursuit of the truth – www.cinopsbegone.com – Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2011

“Systematic Discrimination Against Church Now Seems Inevitable”* A society where faith is prevented from vigorous public expression is a society that has fashioned the state into an idol. And when the state becomes an idol, men and women become the sacrifice offering. We face an aggressive secular political vision and a consumerist economic model that result – in practice, if not in explicit intent – in a new kind of state-encouraged atheism.

To put in another way: The Enlightenment-derived worldview that gave rise to the great murder ideologies of the last century remains very much alive. Its language is softer, its intentions seem kinder, and its face is friendlier. But its underlying impulse hasn’t changed – i.e. the dream of building a society apart from God; a world of men and women might live wholly sufficient unto themselves, satisfying their needs and desires through their own ingenuity.

This vision presumes a frankly “post-Christian” world ruled by rationality, technology and good social engineering. Religion has a place in this worldview, but only as an individual lifestyle accessory. People are free to worship and believe whatever they want, so long as they keep their belief to themselves and do not presume to intrude their religious idiosyncrasies on the workings of government, the economy, or culture…

In the United States, a nation that is still 80% Christian with a high degree of religious practice, now government agencies now increasingly seek to dictate how Church ministries should operate, and to forced them into practices that would destroy their Catholic identity. Efforts have been made to discourage or criminalize the expression of certain Catholic beliefs as “hate speech.” Our courts and legislatures now routinely take actions that undermine marriage and family, and seek to scrub our public life of Christian symbolism and signs of influence…

The West is now steadily moving in the direction of that new “inhuman humanism.” And if the Church is to respond faithfully, WE NEED TO DRAW UPON THE LESSONS THAT THE CHURCHES LEARNED UNDER TOTALITARIANISM. A CATHOLICISM OF RESISTENCE MUST BE BASED ON TRUST IN CHRIST’S WORDS: “THE TRUTH WILL MAKE YOU FREE.”…

Living the truth also means telling the truth and calling things by their right names. And that means exposing the lies by which some men try to force others to live. Our societies are Christian by birth, and their survival depends on the endurance of Christian values. Our core principles and political institutions are based in large measure, on the morality of the Gospel and the Christian vision of man and government…

Pier Giorgio Frassati - Man of the Beatitudes*

Pier Giorgio Frassati – Man of the Beatitudes*

Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati, Turin, Italy, 1922 – the Life of the man in Imitation of Christ

“Young people today who are looking for a role model will find someone to identify with in this vibrant young outdoorsman who combined a deep love for Christ, a desire to serve the needy, and a mission to imbue society and politics with Christian ideals.

“Pier Giorgio Frassati was born in Turin, Italy on Holy Saturday, April 9, 1901. His father, an agnostic, was the founder and director of the Liberal newspaper La Stampa, and was influential in Italian politics, serving the term as senator, and later was Italy’s ambassador to Germany. Spent the flower of his youth between two world wars when Italy was in social ferment and Fascism was on the rise.

“Pier Giorgio developed a deep spiritual life which he never hesitated to share with friends. In 1918 he joined the St. Vincent de Paul Society and dedicated much of his spare time to serving the sick and the needy. He decided to become a mining engineer so he could “serve Christ better among miners,” as he told a friend. His studies however did not keep him from social activism. In 1919, he joined the Catholic Student Federation and the Popular, a political organization which promotes the Catholic Church’s teachings…

“Charity is not enough: we need social reform,” he used to say, as he worked for both. He also gave his time to help establish a Catholic daily newspaper, Momento which was based on the principles of Pope Leo XIII’s encyclical on social and economic matters, Rerum Novarum…

“Pier Giorgio gave to help the poor, even using his train fare for charity and then running home to be on time for meals in a house where punctuality and frugality were the law… At graduation, given the choice by his father of money or a car he chose the money and gave it to the poor… He kept a small ledger book containing detailed accounts of his transactions…

“Pier Giorgio also spent time in the countryside with friends; mountain climbing was one of his favorite sports. On these outings, however, the young friends did not hesitate to share their religious inspiration and spiritual lives. Beneath the smiling exterior of the restless university student was concealed the amazing life of a mystic. Love for Jesus motivated his actions. He assisted at Mass and communion daily, often serving Mass and making a lengthy thanksgiving afterwards.

“He felt a strong mysterious urge to be near the Blessed Sacrament… He loved the rosary, a family practice, and prayed it three times daily after becoming a Dominican tertiary… He frequented opera, theatres, and museums; he loved art and music and could quote whole chunks of Dante.

“In late June 1925 Pier Giorgio was afflicted by an acute attack of poliomyelitis. He died on July 4, 1925. At the funeral procession the family was surprised to find the streets of the city lined with thousands of mourners particularly the poor and needy whom he served unselfishly for 7 years.”

The Terms "Christian" and "Martyr" are Synonymous

The Terms “Christian” and “Martyr” are Synonymous*

In pursuit of the truth – www.cinopsbegone.com – Sunday,Jan. 16th, 2011

Preface: It is exciting to look forward to this public event that includes many young Christians! You will see thousands of them in San Francisco and a couple of hundred thousand in Washington, D.C. It is the MARCH FOR LIFE during this coming weekend of Jan. 22-24, 2011. You can view it on EWTN.

*Pope Benedict has a poignant account of Christians in his writings, Co-Workers of the Truth: “Acceptance of the name “Christian” is an acknowledgement of martyrdom, the expression of one’s readiness for martyrdom. When we call ourselves Christian, this meaning is always implied.

“We are told in the Acts of the Apostles (11:26) that it was at Antioch – it must have been about the year 44 A.D. – that the followers of Jesus were first called Christians. From certain linguistic characteristics we can conclude with relative certainty that it was Roman authorities who bestowed this name on the believers.

“It is a Latin formulation belonging to the linguistic category of Roman law. By it, the disciples of Jesus were designated as the coterie of Christ, as the party of Christ; it goes without saying that the authorities were well aware that this Christ had been put to death as a criminal.

“Hence Christians were known as followers of a criminal and consequently, since they concurred with his teaching, were themselves worthy of death, being, as it were, members of a criminal law. The name Christian thus became a term used in criminal law: whoever bore this name did not have to commit any further crime; he was already guilty. It is all the more remarkable, therefore, that the Christian themselves embraced this designation, which meant death for them.

“Its earliest use is in the First Epistle of Saint Peter, and it occurs with great frequency in the so-called Doctrine of the Twelve Apostles [Didache} and in the letters of Ignatius [of Antioch], two collections of texts that probably originated in the regions of Antioch in about the year 100.

“How can one explain the fact that Christians adopted precisely this designation, which put them directly in danger of death, and were even proud of it? But, in fact, this connection has persisted throughout all of history and is today even more true than ever before.

“We might recall, for instance, the martyrs who shed their blood for Christ in Mexico in the ‘20s and ‘30s or the martyrs of the Third Reich – Edith Stein, Maximilian Kolbe, to name just two of the many we might mention…”

Turning a National Tragedy into a Smear Campaign

Turning a National Tragedy into a Smear Campaign

In pursuit of the truth – www.cinopsbegone.com – Saturday, January 15, 2011

Preface:
Politics is a secular religion with the Leftists in America. They control the Liberal Media with their allies. When leftists lose like they did in the November election, they think the public has been duped by the right extremists. The culture of death agenda was kind of blunted. Leftists really think ordinary folks are stupid. After all leftists know what is best for us. These losers are a special breed. They will do everything possible to smear the opposition. And sadly this will happen again.

Let’s check out excerpts from Kathleen Gilbert, Tucson, Arizona, and January 10, 2011 – (LifeSiteNews.com) - Political feeding frenzy continues as portrait emerges of alleged Gifford gunman.

“Liberal media commentators have widely blamed Tea Party rhetoric for the bloodbath, with many pointing fingers at Tea Party icon Sarah Palin for a graphic on her website showing crosshairs over opponents’ districts in a map of America.

“Mission accomplished, Sarah Palin,” tweeted Daily Kos Founder Mark Moulistas after the shooting… World Net Daily revealed that Mark Moulistas, the founder of the top liberal blog Daily Kos who immediately blamed Palin for the shooting, had himself published a post in 2008 listing Giffords as one of many of lawmakers with “a bull’s-eye on their district” for being a “bad apple” Democrat.

“Conservative commentators have responded in turn with accusations of hypocrisy pointing out that liberals, including President Obama, have often used similar rhetoric; they have also criticized the political left for turning a national tragedy into political football.

“One of the most prominent voices blasting conservatives came from the pro-abortion lobby National Organization of Women which, hours after the event, called for a Justice Department Investigation “to the fullest extent of federal anti-terrorist legislation” against a possible conspiracy by “right-wing extremists.”…

“House assistant Democratic leader Rept. Jim Clyburn on Sunday castigated Tea Party favorite Sharron Angle, who had warned that Americans may resort to “Second Amendment remedies” if Congress does not listen to them…

“President Obama has talked about politics as a ‘gun fight’ and called Republicans ‘hostage takers’ Democrats used similar targets on Web maps of Republican districts ripe for flipping,” … referring to the controversial Palin graphic…

“To see the left exploit this for political advantage – some people have no conscience,” the Tea Party Patriot’s Mark Meckler told the Daily Beast. “It’s genuinely revolting … I think it sinks to the level of evil.”

The Tail Wagging the Dog - Part 1

The Tail Wagging the Dog - Part 1
In pursuit of the truth – www.cinopsbegone.com – Friday, January 14, 2011

We have these phenomena within the Catholic Church. May I share with you two examples? This is a most serious matter which needs to be resolved.

A. The following mindset of the CINOP [Catholic-in-name-only politician] while occurring in Australia is common in our nation. “Australian Premier berates cardinal for comments on Christian politicians” – Sydney, January 10, 2011 (LifeSiteNews.com)

New South Wales Premier Kristina Keneally has strongly berated Cardinal George, saying she is greatly “saddened” by his recent comments criticizing Christian politicians who disregard Church teaching. She said she believes Pell risks being “interpreted as condemnatory and threatening. [This comment by any CINOP is hogwash.]

Kealey who bills herself as a devout Catholic opposes Church teaching on homosexuality and abortion. [You are a hypocrite and fraud running as a Catholic for office.]

In an interview with the Herald Sun earlier this month, Cardinal Pell had criticized politicians who “fly under the Christian or Captain Catholic flag” but “blithely disregard Christian perspectives” when facing a vote on moral issues in parliament.

“I read those comments from the Archbishop and, if anything, they saddened me.” Keneally told the Sunday Telegraph. [Well isn’t that too bad.] “Almost every Catholic politician takes their responsibility and their faith seriously,” said the Premier. “Many have struggled, as have I, when moral issues require us to vote – and particularly when it is a conscience. [This twisted conscience alibi by the CINOP drives me up the wall. We have the “Catechism of the Catholic Church.” If you can’t abide by it stop being a phony. I wonder if a civil suit for fraud can be made against any CINOP.]

On issues of same-sex “marriage” and adoption, as well as abortion issues Keneally has consistently voiced views contrary to Catholic teaching.

B. Catholic Marquette University Law School has hired former Senator Feingold as a visiting professor for the spring semester. He has a 100% pro-choice voting record as analyzed by NARAL Pro-Choice America, and supported taxpayer funding of embryonic stem cell research. He is for the gay rights agenda, against the Defense of Marriage Act, and in 2006 changing the definition of marriage.

Now the Cardinal Newman Society pointed to Pope John Paul II’s statement in Ex Corde Ecclesiae, “All teachers … at the time of their appointment are to be informed of the Catholic identity of the institution and its implications, and their responsibility to promote, or least to respect that identity.” Joseph D. Kearney, Dean and Professor thinks otherwise. Joseph.kearney@Marquette.edu

President Obama at Tucson Memorial Service

President Obama at Tucson Memorial Service

In pursuit of the truth – www.cinopsbegone.com – Thursday, January 13, 2011

The following are some uplifting excerpts of the speech by President Obama:

“To the families of those we lost to the students of this university [of Arizona], the peoples of Tucson and Arizona. America kneels to pray with you today and stand by you tomorrow.”

“Gabby Gifford will pull through. Scripture tells us where the most high dwells – God will help her… Right after we went to visit. Gabby opened her eyes for the first time. She knows we are here; we love her and are rooting for her. Our heart is full of thanks for that good news.”

“Grateful to Daniel Hernandez: Heroism is here in the hearts of so many fellow citizens.”

“It is part of our nature to demand information – to prevent such tragedies in the future. Our discourse so sharply focuses: To make sure that we are talking with each other in a way that heals.”

“Scripture tells us that there is evil in the world. Bad things happen: None can know with any certainty of a violent man’s mind.”*

“We have to examine all the facts behind this tragedy! We cannot use this tragedy as one more occasion to turn on each other. That we cannot do.”

“Our priorities- How well we have loved? Making the lives of other people better: Realize our values with our actions: Fidelity to the law.”

“This tragedy prompts reflection and debate. Worthy of those we have lost. – Not on point scoring and pettiness… Loss should be better in our private lives, friends & neighbors.”

“Bring more civility into our public discourse. Face up to the challenges of our nation – make us proud.”

“We are not able to stop all evil in the world. This nine year old girl elected to the student council. I want to live up to her expectations. Let the country live up to our children’s expectations… May God bless the United States of America?”

George H. Kubeck – *It is wise for all sides to study the mindset of this evil spirit in the killer Jared Loughner.

Catholic Laity Responsible for Re-evangelization

Catholic Laity Responsible for Re-evangelization

By John A Hardin S.J.* – www.cinopsbegone.com – Wednesday, January 12, 2011

“Why are the Catholic laity mainly responsible for re-evangelization? The answer is simple to put in words, but not easy to put into practice. Of course, re-evangelization is more demanding. It is always harder to reconvert a former believer than it is to convert a former believe than it is to convert a non-Christian to Christianity or non-Catholic to the Catholic Church.

“However, our question centers on the adverb “mainly” responsible for the re-evangelization of America. There are five principle reasons.

“The laity are the most numerous members of the Mystical Body of Christ. They are empowered by the Sacraments of Baptism and Confirmation to evangelize and re-evangelize others…

“The laity are in direct contact and in daily association with the de-Christianized world in which they live…

“The laity are in positions of influence in the world and on the world, such as no bishop or priest can have. How did the pagan Roman Empire of the first century of Christianity come to know about Jesus Christ? From the Christian faithful among whom the pagans lived, with whom they were in constant contact, and whom they saw living lives that their pagan contemporaries had never seen.

“Let me quote at some length from the famous letter to a certain Diognetus, written in the early second century. The writer, who is unknown, compares the life of Christians with that of pagans among whom they lived: “Christians are indistinguishable from other men either by nationality, language or customs. They do not inhabit separate cities of their own, or speak a strange dialect, or follow some outlandish way of life… They pass their days upon earth, but are citizens of heaven. Obedience to the laws, they live on a level which is above all human law.” It is no exaggeration to call the believing faithful who are loyal to Christ “the moral soul of the world.”

“The laity realize as fathers and mothers of families, as persons of the world of business and politics, how deeply our beloved country has been de-Christianized. No words of mine can described the sorrow and anguish, dare I say the agony that a sincerely believing and deeply committed Catholic layperson experiences in trying to remain faithful to the Savior in our nation today… The faithful laity are blessed with extraordinary grace from God. The Holy Spirit provides them with the gifts they need to not only survive, but actually thrive, in a world that has rejected the Savior and made sin the norm for being normal.”

President Obama's Foreign Policy on Abortion!

President Obama’s Foreign Policy on Abortion

Congressman Chris Smith interviewed – www.cinopsbegone.com – Sun. Jan. 9th, 2011

You decide after the interview by “The Catholic World Report” January, 2011 by Daniel Allott

“Congressman Chris Smith age 57 has served New Jersey’s 4th Congressional District since 1981. Smith, a Republican is a champion of pro-life causes as well as human rights and religious freedom abroad… and what can we expect from the new Congress…

1. How would you rate the job the Obama administration has done defending human rights and religious freedom abroad?

Smith: - An F. He simply hasn’t made human rights a priority. I think it is a tragedy. [Secretary of State] Hillary Clinton stated publicly that she won’t let human rights “interfere” with our relationship with China a serious retreat and surrender for the U.S. Instead Obama and Clinton are promoting abortion and gay rights agenda. That’s our new foreign policy…

2. Can you talk about what happened recently in Kenya – about the Obama’s administrations involvement in supporting passage of the country’s new constitution, which includes language that liberalizes abortion law?

Smith: - Kenya’s a microcosm of what Obama and Clinton are doing everywhere in the world – in Asia, in Nigeria, Ghana, Bosnia, all over the world, including and especially in countries that are writing new constitutions.
America comes in using its enormous influence and linkage to foreign aid and uses paid mercenaries – pro-abortion organizations, all with one message: legalize and provide unlimited access to abortion. The U.S. tells foreign sovereign nations to put abortion in their constitution and in their national health strategies. And that’s what Obama did in Kenya. The Obama administration just spent 61.5 million subsidizing more than 80 organizations, including the Kenyan Federation of Women Lawyers, to ensure that the right to abortion was included in their new constitution. We paid for the whole bill! The Whole Bill…

3. Where can progress be made on abortion in the new Congress? Can Planned Parenthood be defunded? How about repealing taxpayer funding of abortion in the new health care law?

Smith: to that end I’ve introduced- along with 185 co-sponsors – the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act…Today Obamacare authorizes of abortion…

4. What are the prospects of repealing Obamcare? Especially since the President would probably veto any repeal legislation, not to mention that it wouldn’t pass in the Senate?

Smith: - That’s very true. To completely repeal it we need a new, pro-life president. And there will be a huge push in 2112…

George H. Kubeck on today’s Feast of the Baptism of the Lord, Chris Smith’s message is a horrendous shame for our country. Pray for President Obama and the CINO politicians and persons who support him.

It's No to Pro-Gay Agenda Conservatives!

It’s No to Pro-Gay Agenda Conservatives

By Terence P. Jeffrey – www.cinopsbegone.com – Saturday, January 8, 2011

“… By definition, conservatives are against the gay agenda because the gay agenda ultimately seeks to overturn the moral order that makes freedom possible. Fidelity to the natural laws of the land is at the very core at what conservatives seek to conserve.

“This past week a group led by Chris Barron, the chairman of a group called GOProud – which says on its website it “represents gay conservatives and their allies” – sent a letter to House Speaker to-be John Boehner (R-Ohio) and Senate Minority Leader Mich McConnell (R. Ky.) in which the writers professed to speak on behalf of conservatives in warning the Republican leaders not to take up social issues in the coming Congress.

“Barron was joined in the letter by GOProud’s executive director and by a number of people associated with local tea party organization. [Their names should be made public.]

“On behalf of limited government conservatives everywhere we write to urge you and your colleagues in Washington to put forward a legislative agenda in the next Congress that reflects the principles of the tea party movement,” wrote Barron and his allies.

“This election was not a mandate for the Republican Party, nor was it mandate to act on any social issue, nor should it be interpreted as a political blank check,” he wrote.

“First, “limited government conservative is redundant. To be conservative is to be for limited government – precisely because as the Declaration of Independence makes clear, the purpose of government is to protect (not infringe) our God given rights, including the right to life.

“Secondly, most of the new Republicans elected to Congress on Nov. 2 told voters they were pro-life and pro-marriage. What GOProud and its allies are saying to these new Congressmen is that when they get to Washington, D.C. they should not act on the principles they told voters they stood for when they ran for office.

“Thirdly, at the same time GOProud is warning the Republican leadership it has no “mandate to act on any social issue” in the next Congress, it is calling on Republicans in the Senate to act on a social issue central GOProud’s own agenda – in the lame duck session of the Democratic majority that will take place before a single tea-party –backed elected on November 2 can come to Washington and take office.

“A November 11 “GoProud”* press release called for the lame-duck Congress to repeal the ban on homosexuals in the military…” [Sadly, several Republican Senators succumbed temporarily.]

George H. Kubeck *“GOProud” wants to change the definition of conservative like they are trying to do for marriage. The mainstream N.Y. Times’ Pravda propaganda machine is one of their sponsors.

Tea Party's Winning Hand - Part 2 of 2

Tea Party’s Winning Hand – Part 2 of 2

By Patrick J. Buchanan – www.cinopsbegone.com – Friday, January 7, 2011

“National Republicans may stay out of these bloody battles, but they hold great potential for bringing out voters and driving wedges through Obama’s national base.

“Consider, Establishment Republicans* recoil from the issue of “gay marriage.” But, in 2008, while McCain was winning 5% of the African-American vote in California, blacks in California, urged on by pastors and preachers, voted 70% to outlaw same-sex marriage.

“The pro-life position is also a far more popular cause among black and Hispanic Americans than is the Republican Party.

“Oklahoma’s prohibition against any use of Sharia law should be seen as a cry from the heart of America that we are and we wish to remain a Western nation, a predominantly Christian, and we wish to be ruled by our Constitution and laws enacted pursuant to it.

“The national outpouring of support for Arizona after that state came under attack for its law requiring suspected illegal aliens to show ID demonstrates how explosive the immigrant-amnesty issue is. Republicans should not run away from it, for our elite are further out of touch with people on this issue than any other.

“As for the Connerly amendment abolishing affirmative action, if the GOP wishes to win in 2012, the party will put this measure on every possible state ballot, especially crucial states like Pennsylvania and Ohio.

“What this panoply of issues testifies to is the true identity of the Tea Party. These folks are not single issue voters, and they are not motivated by pocketbook issues only. THEY HAVE SEEN THE AMERICA THEY GREW IN VIRTUALLY VANISH. Look at how far we have travelled!

“We seem no longer able to balance our budgets, win our wars, or secure our borders. COMPARED TO WHAT OUR CULTURE WAS, IT IS A RUNNING SEWER TODAY. Working-class wages and middle-class incomes seem to have been stagnant for decades. Factories and jobs continue to hemorrhage to Asia. Company towns become ghost towns. Made in China has replaced Made in America.

“And as one drives through cities and suburbs, one encounters vast concentrations of people who speak some language other than our own. The Tea Party people are rising up to take their country back, and that’s why they’re not going away.”

George H. Kubeck *well isn’t that too bad! In California, the state-wide Republican Party fought the Nov. 2nd election with one hand tied behind their back. They did not want to talk about the values issues. Political correctness has made fools of Republican leaders. These are issues that win for common sense, reason and traditional America. Look forward to these leaders to be replaced. They have been replaced in other states like Texas. Let’s get it straight. We don’t want socialist or Europeans values. Also, English is our National Language.

Why the Catholic Church does not Celebrate Homosexuality?

Why the Catholic Church does not Celebrate Homosexuality?

By Thomas A. Flynn, LC – www.cinopsbegone.com – Thursday, January 6, 2011

“Recent protests by homosexual advocates during Pope Benedict’s latest visit to Barcelona were just another sign of the gay crusade underway around the globe. They find it easy to strike the Pope, knowing quite well that the Pope will not strike back. In their anger they have accused Pope Benedict and the Catholic Church as being a bigot and intolerant to their personal life-style. But it is they who play the bigot, and the Church continues to tolerate them.

“Toleration always implies an evil. We do not tolerate presents on our birthday or a party held in our honor. What we do tolerate are friends not bringing presents and not being invited to the party all together. The Catholic Church tolerates homosexual behavior as much as it tolerates other evil acts. It puts up with them out of respect for the person all the while proclaiming the moral evil involved.

“Pro-gay advocates are at arms with the Church because it will not tolerate, but because it will not celebrate. They want the Church to march in their gay parades, to witness their gay marriages, and put a large red O.K. on their gay lifestyles. All of this is done to naturalize the unnatural. Nature decreed that it takes a male and female of any species to reproduce. Even the American Psychological Association (APA) dropped their claim to a hypothetical “gay gene” when scientists found out there was nothing scientific about it.

“But there are those “cases” of people who feel inclined to their own sex. The Church has always made a distinction between someone with homosexual inclinations (itself not a sin) and homosexual life styles where promiscuous sex is implied. The person is always respected and in many ways the Church has gone out of its way to help someone with an unnatural attraction to the same sex. Be they homosexual or heterosexual, the Church teaches that everyone should live abstinence according to their vocation in life. Married men and women are called to abstain from sex with other people. Single women and men are called to abstain from sex altogether. Now, why shouldn’t the Church ask the same from homosexuals? Many homosexuals do in fact live abstinence and are an example for many.

“Many people ask the question “why can’t they be happy like everyone else?” Of course they can be happy and to my knowledge the Church has never denied this fact. It only points out that to be happy is not equivalent to following your passions to wherever they lead you. Nearly every child enjoys chocolate, but what mother allows her little pumpkin to eat as much as he wants and to his heart’s content? There are limits to such pleasures and the difference is as contrasting as fit and fat.
“Tolerate we must, but the Church will not celebrate.

“The Church must say no to gay “marriage” which manipulates the very meaning of marriage and opens the door to the legislation of polygamy and any other sexual combination; it must abstain from gay couples adopting children so that they are not reduced to mere toys in a social experiment; it must speak out against homosexual intercourse as a sacrilege of procreation; it must uphold moral truths that sustain the dignity and form the mold of a just society.”

George H. Kubeck, the Gay Agenda is led by Gays. Who appointed them to speak for the homosexual persons?

Tea Party's Winning Hand - Part 1 of 2

Tea Party’s Winning Hand – Part I of 2
By Patrick J. Buchanan – www.cinopsbegone.com – Thursday, January 6, 2011

“Other than being the highest profile Republican victims of Tea Party candidates, what do Lisa Murkowski, Mike Castle, Charlie Crist, and Arlen Specter have in common?

“Other than being Tea Party insurgents who routed establishment Republicans in high-prolife primaries, what do Joe Miller, Marco Rubio, Christine O’Donnell, Pat Tooney, Sharon Angle in Nevada, Ken Buck in Colorado, and Mike Lee in Utah have in common.

“The answer, writes Tim Carney of the “Washington Examine”, is that all the former are pro-choice on abortion, all the latter pro-life.

“Tea Party types and pro-life conservatives seem to be twins separated at birth. Carney continues: “Almost without fail the strongest advocate of limited government in Congress are pro-life and vice versa. Think of [Jim] DeMint and [Tom] Coburn in the Senate and Ron Paul and Jeff Flake in the House. They top the scorecards of the National Taxpayers’ Union and also have a perfect score from National Right to Life.”

“Carney’s point: While all Tea Party insurgents and Tea Party-backed candidates seem to agree on the economic issues – deficits, debt, taxes, Obamacare – they also seem united on other issues. Looking at the down-ballot battles in 2010, being pro-life is just one of them.

“Three Iowa Supreme Court judges who ruled that the state constitution requires recognition of same-sex marriages were denied retention, and Gov. Terry Branstad campaigned for giving Iowans a referendum to decide if they wish to outlaw it.

“Tea Party types and Iowa conservatives were not only opposed to the idea of men marrying men, they detest the idea of judicial dictatorship.

“In Arizona, Ward Connerly’s anti-affirmation action initiative, which prohibits race, gender, and ethnic preferences, won with 60% of the vote. Michigan, California, and Washington have already adopted the Connerly amendment. Tea Parties also united to back the Arizona law that requires cops to determine the immigrant’s status of any whom, in a routine police encounter, they suspect of being an illegal alien…

“In Oklahoma, a proposition to prohibit use of Sharia law in state courts passed with 70%. Sharia law is the basis of law in many Muslim countries, as the Bible was once the basis of much law in America. Far more than the Beltway Right, the Tea Party is in tune with the heart of America – not only on taxes, spending, and Obamacare, but on social, cultural, and moral issues.”…

Celebrate Four Great Victories from 2010

Celebrate Four Great Victories from 2010
In pursuit of the truth – www.cinopsbegone.com – Wednesday, January 5, 2011

Today, let our narrative and talking points be the victories of # 1 the Tea Party Protests; # 2 the Pro-Life Movement; # 3 the Pro-Marriage Advocates; and #4 the National Right to Work Advocates in the nation. It’s so exciting a new and this time a normal Congress is being sworn in today. There are about 85 freshman Republicans and 9 Democrats in this 112 Congress. We are a center-right country.

There is no doubt that all of the above victors were present in the protests of the Tea Party Movement. And who are the heroes of 2010? They are the ordinary folks in your neighborhood who participated in some ways. Now our mainstream media isn’t going to proclaim this. Why? Their agenda corresponds to the one by the liberal socialist progressives and that of our misguided President Obama. With honest journalism dead in this New York Times Media, be prepared for them to spout off Pravda-type propaganda and smear attacks. They are destructive because many of the uninformed public receives their news from them. (Example – MSNBC)

It was an outstanding victory for the pro-life movement. About 30 Catholic-in-name only politicians were voted out of office. They were all Democrats. There are now about 60 Catholic Republican Congress Persons. Almost all of them are pro-life. There are about 64 Catholic Democratic Congress Persons and all of them are pro-abort and same-sex marriage. About 13 of them come from the state of California. The Representative from our 47th District, Loretta Sanchez will be a nobody in this Congress. Orange County elected a NOBODY. Pro-life is looking forward to the 2012 election where there are also in the Senate about a dozen pro-abort and same-sex marriages nominal Catholics for defeat.

Our pro-marriage advocates succeeded in Iowa to recall 3 Supreme Court Justices who tried to legalize same-sex marriage. There was also good news from the State of Maine and the votes of 31 state legislatures voting that marriage is between a man and woman. We have still a serious problem with judges who are judicial activists AND THE ELITISTS WITH THEIR MONIES.

Lastly and briefly, jobs are moving from California to states like Texas and Tennessee who have Right to Work Laws. You don’t have to join a left-wing agenda union like the workers and teachers in California, Illinois and Michigan in order to hold on to your job.

George H. Kubeck, there is more good news locally.

MARK YOU CALENDAR FOR THE TEA PARTY PATRIOTS MEETING AT ST. ISIDORE HALL, WED: JANUARY 12TH, 2011, - 10961 REAGAN STREET, LOS ALAMITOS, CA. 7 PM. – LISTEN TO MICHAEL T. ALEXANDER J.D. – HE WILL ANSWER THREE QUESTIONS 1) What do you make of the election? 2) What happened in California? 3) Where do we go from here? Arrive early with your notebook to get a seat.

Become a Co-Worker of the Truth*

Become a Co-Worker of the Truth*
In pursuit of the truth – www.cinopsbegone.com – Monday, January 3, 2011

“Soon after my consecration as bishop in 1977, Sister Irene Grassl approached me (Bishop Ratzinger) with the suggestion that I compile from my various writings a kind of breviary of reflection for each day of the year. The title finally chosen for the compilation also conveys my reason for undertaking it. I believe that a work of this kind can, on its own way, contribute to the fulfillment of the promise implicit in the motto from the third epistle of St. John, verse 8, that I adopted for my coat of arms: “Co-Workers of the Truth”.

“For John, these words signify the participation of all the faithful in the service of the Gospel and, by consequence the “catholic” dimension of the faith: the “elder”, as he designates himself, calls upon the faithful to extend hospitality to all who come as messengers of the Faith…

“For me it becomes another way of expressing the task of the bishop: he too and especially he, is a “co-worker”, that is he does not act in his own name but always and totally linked to a “with.” “Only when he acts ‘with’ Christ and ‘with’ the whole believing Church of all times and all places does he do what he is meant to do. It is not his task to fashion a community for himself, but, rather, to fashion the Church of Christ.

“That means that he must point to him who is the Way because he is the Truth. (Jn 14:6)… A mere community of interests without truth would be just a drug, not a healing. Perhaps, in the last analysis, the crucial element in the unfathomable expression “co-workers of the truth” is the relationship between truth and love. It is my hope, that this book will indeed prove to be a co-worker of the truth”… to awaken in us the courage to become co-workers.”

George H. Kubeck * Preface to the book, “Co-Workers of the Truth” – Meditations for Every Day of the New Year, by Joseph Cardinal Ratzinger, 1992, Ignatius Press, San Francisco

P.S. All are invited to proclaim the truth. The truth isn’t very popular today. Be not afraid. We need the truth in order to survive as a nation and save the integrity of the Catechism of the Catholic Church. Persons will hate you for expressing it. But truth is a breadth of fresh air not only in religion but in the secular world we live in. My focus is not only about political correctness but also religious correctness (an intellectual emotional mindset) which has tried and in many ways succeeded in conning the U.S. Catholic Church for decades.
