St. Thomas Aquinas (1224/5-1274)

St. Thomas Aquinas (1224/5-1274)
Memorial – Saturday, January 28, 2012

St. Thomas Aquinas was a 13th century Dominican Friar, philosopher and theologian. Named a Doctor of the Church and given the title “Angelic Doctor,” he is the patron of Catholic universities, colleges and schools. Renowned for his proofs for the existence of God, Aquinas believed that both faith and reason discover truth; a conflict between them is impossible since they both originate in God. He was instrumental, therefore, in the assimilation of the works of Aristotle into the intellectual life of Western Christendom.

Saint Thomas was born in 1224 or 1225 to noble parents, being the youngest son of Landulf (descendant of the counts of Aquino) and Theodora, a noble woman of Naples. At the age of five, he was placed in the Monastery of Monte Cassino to be educated for a career in the Church.

At about the age of nineteen, he joined the Dominican Order, the Order of Friars Preachers. At about the age of twenty, he was placed under the instruction of St. Albert the Great, first in Paris and later in Cologne. Because of his large stature and quiet nature, Thomas’ fellows called him a dumb ox, but St. Albert declared that Thomas’ bellows would resound throughout the world. In Cologne, probably at the age of twenty-five, Thomas was ordained to the priesthood.

Quotes and Prayers by St. Thomas Aquinas…

“Beware of the man of one book.” “It is requisite for the relaxation of the mind that we make use, from time to time, of playful deeds and jokes.”

“The study of philosophy is not that we may know what men have thought, but what the truth of things is.”

“The soul is like an uninhabited world that comes to life only when God lays His head against us.”“To one who has faith no explanations is necessary. To one without faith, no explanation is possible.”

“We do not pray to change divine decree, but only to obtain what God has decided will obtained by prayer.”
“Give us, O Lord, a steadfast heart, which no unworthy affection may drag downwards; Give us an unconquered heart, which no tribulation can wear out; Give us an upright heart, which no unworthy purpose may tempt aside.”

“Grant me, O Lord my God, a mind to know you, a heart to seek you, wisdom to find you, conduct pleasing to you, faithful perseverance in waiting for you, and a hope of finally embracing you. Amen”

“Obedience unites us so closely to God that it in a way transforms us into Him, so that we have no other will but His. If obedience is lacking, even prayer cannot be pleasing to God.”

“The Eucharist is the Sacrament of Love. It signifies Love. It produces love. The Eucharist is the consummation of the whole spiritual life.” – http://www.aquinasonline.com/thombiog.html

Freedom of Religion and Prayer

Freedom of Religion and Prayer
In support of the truth – www.cinopsbegoneblogspot.com – Friday, January 27, 2012

Preface: As we proceed in reversing this HHS mandate forced on Catholic and other Christian institutions by the Obama regime; let’s start with a historical perspective. The following are some thoughts from one of the books by one of the several Talk Shows hosts.

“The Founding Fathers guaranteed us “freedom of religion” not “freedom from religion.” America was founded on Judeo-Christian principles. Go back to the drafting of the Constitution. It was the summer of 1787, and the representatives who broke free from the tyranny of the British Empire were gathered in Philadelphia to hammer out this great document. After weeks of almost no progress, many were ready to walk away from the convention.

“Benjamin Franklin, who was eighty-one years old, stood and challenged the leaders as follows,:

“I have lived, sir, a long time and the longer I live, the more convincing proofs I see of this truth: that God governs in the affairs of men. And if a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without his notice [which, I should point out, is a direct reference to the words of Jesus in Matthew 10] is it probable that an empire can rise without his aid? We have been assured, sit, in the Sacred Writings that “except the Lord build the House, they labor in vain that build it.” I firmly believe this … I therefore beg leave to move that henceforth prayers imploring the assistance of heaven, and its blessing on our deliberations, be held in this assembly every morning.”

“If you still have any doubt about America’s Judeo-Christian heritage, listen to our third president, Thomas Jefferson. He said, “God who gave us life gave us liberty. And can the liberties of a nation be thought secure when we have removed their own firm basis, a conviction in the minds of the people that these liberties are a gift of God? … Indeed, I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just; that his justice cannot sleep forever.” But the radical liberal socialists, who are intolerant of competing views, are counting on Americans to remain dumb sheep.

“Read what President Abraham Lincoln said in his Proclamation for a National Day of Fasting, Humiliation, and Prayer on April 30, 1863:

“We have been the recipients of the choicest bounties of heaven. We have been preserved these many years in peace and prosperity. We have grown in numbers, wealth, and power as no other nation has ever grown. But we have forgotten God. We have forgotten the gracious hand which preserved us in peace, and multiplies and enriched and strengthened us; and we have vainly imagined, in the deceitfulness of our hearts, that all these blessings were produced by some superior wisdom and virtue of our own. Intoxicated with unbroken success, we have become too self-sufficient to feel the necessity of redeeming and preserving grace, too proud to pray to the God that has made us! It behooves us then to humble ourselves before the offended Power, to confess our national sins and to pray for clemency and forgiveness.”

Cardinal Designate Timothy Dolan's Article on the HHS Mandate

Cardinal Designate Timothy Dolan’s Article on the HHS Mandate*

“THE RELENTLESS PROCLAIMATION OF THE TRUTH ON THIS HEALTH & HUMAN SERVICES MANDATE”

*“The Wall Street Journal”, Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2012: “ObamaCare and Religious Freedom”

Religious freedom is the life blood of the American people, the cornerstone of American government. When the Founding Fathers determined that the innate rights of men and women should be enshrined in our Constitution, they so esteemed religious liberty that they made it the first freedom in the Bill of Rights.

In particular, the Founding Fathers fiercely defended the right of conscience. George Washington himself declared: “The conscientious scruples of all men should be treated with great delicacy and tenderness; and it is my wish and desire, that the laws may always be extensively accommodated to them.” James Madison, a key defender of religious freedom and author of the First Amendment, said: “Conscience is the most sacred of all property.”

Scarcely two weeks ago, in its Hosanna-Tabor decision upholding the right of churches to make ministerial hiring decision, the Supreme Court unanimously and enthusiastically reaffirmed these longstanding and foundational principles of religious freedom. The court made clear that they include the right of religious institutions to control their internal affairs. Yet the Obama administration has veered in the opposite direction. It has refused to exempt religious institutions that serve the common good- including Catholic schools, charities and hospitals – from its sweeping new health-care mandate that requires employers to purchase contraception, including abortion-producing drugs, & sterilization coverage for their employees…

Since then, hundreds of religious institutions, and hundreds of thousands of individual citizens, have raised their voices in principled opposition to this requirement that religious institutions and individuals violate their own basic moral teaching in their health plans. Certainly many of these good people and groups were Catholic, but many were Americans of other faiths, or no faith at all, who recognize that their beliefs could be on the block. They also recognize that the cleverest way for the government to erode the broader principle of religious freedom is to target unpopular beliefs first.

Now we have learned that those loud and strong appeals were ignored. On Friday, the administration reaffirmed the mandate, and offered only a one-year delay in enforcement in some in some cases – as we might suddenly be more willing to violate our conscience 12 months from now… The rule forces insurance companies to provide these services without a co-pay, suggesting they are “free” – but it is naïve to believe that. There is no free lunch, and you can be sure there’s no free abortion, sterilization or contraception. There will be a source of funding: you. Coercing religious ministries and citizens to pay directly for actions that violate their teaching is an unprecedented incursion into freedom of conscience.

The Catholic Church defends religious liberty, including freedom of conscience for everyone. The Amish do not carry health insurance. The government respects their principles. Christian Scientists want to heal by prayer alone, and the new health-care reform law respects that. Quakers and other object to killing even in wartime and the government respects that principle for conscientious objectors.

BY ITS DECISION, THE OBAMA ADMINISTRTATION HAS FAILED TO SHOW THE SAME RESPECT FOR THE CONSCIENCES OF CATHOLICS AND OTHERS WHO OBJECT TO TREATING PREGANCY AS A DISEASE…

DUPLICATE & SHARE: “The Washington Post” is opposed to this HHS mandate. All newspapers must do likewise.

The Direct Attack on Catholics!

The Direct Attack on Catholics!
In pursuit of the truth – www.cinopsbegoneblogspot.com – Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2012

“Original message from Brian Burch, President CatholicVote.org”

Pres. Obama informed Archbp Dolan today (Jan. 22, 2012) that the proposed mandate requiring all insurance plans to pay for contraception, sterilization and some abortion drugs is official – and Catholics cannot escape. Please read below and remarks from Pope Benedict to our bishops.

Dear Friends,

Get ready to pay. This morning President Obama called New York Archbishop Timothy Dolan to break the news. Secretary of Health and Human Services and pro-abortion Catholic Kathleen Sebelius just announced that the proposed mandate requiring all insurance plans to pay for contraception, sterilization and some abortion drugs is official – and Catholics cannot escape…

Cardinal-designate Timothy M. Dolan responded minutes ago saying: “In effect, the president is saying we have a year to figure out how to violate our consciences.” Beginning August 1, 2012 (less than eight months today), the insurance premiums we pay, including insurance premiums paid by Catholics for employees of churches and schools – will be used to cover drugs and procedures that are in direct conflict with the teachings of our Church.

That’s right. Our government will now force us to pay for insurance coverage for birth control, sterilization and even some abortion drugs.
President Obama ignored the organized efforts of Catholics across the country, including bold statements from the Bishops, university presidents (including Notre Dame’s Rev. Jenkins), and even his Catholic allies like Sr. Carol Keehan.

Instead, President Obama stood with his real friends – Planned Parenthood. Make no mistake; this decision is a direct attack on you, our Church, and the religious liberty of all Americans. Just yesterday, Pope Benedict XVI addressed the bishops from the United States who were completing their “Ad Limina” visit in Rome. The Holy Father specifically cited the “grave threats” to the freedom of the Church in America, and urged the Catholic community to respond, especially with “an engaged articulate and well-formed Catholic laity.”

He’s talking to you and me. The Holy Father’s brief address is a must read (link below). Finally, today marks exactly one year from Inauguration Day. In exactly 12 months, America will welcome a new president, or usher in four more years of Barack Obama and his assault on our liberties… We built Catholic Vote into a movement to advance the cause of life, family, and freedom. Today’s decision is an assault on all three. And it MUST be defeated. …

George H. Kubeck, The contempt of the secularists on Christians is like living under a fascist/communist regime. We have a constitutional crisis in the violation of our 1st Amendment religious rights.

Washington D.C. - The March for Life - 2012 - # 1

Washington, D.C. -The March for Life- 2012 – Part 1
Proclaim the truth world-wide about abortion - Monday, January 23, 2012

EWTN Television: 8 A.M. Host Doug Heck and Father Joseph- The weather is rainy and cold.

Interviews prior to the March: Jim and John Pinto from Birmingham, Alabama.
“There are marches happening over the weekend throughout the country and the world. The Pontiff, “Born in this time to be witnesses to the gospel and it’s affecting others.” The pro-life movement is bigger, younger and more strategic than ever. We are a movement and we are growing. I can get out there and march. God is for the people. We do this family by family and block and block. Hopefully over 200,000 participants: In Birmingham, we had 7 abortion mills. Today it is only 2. Social communication is a highway to promote pro-life throughout the world. God is using EWTN TV.

From Heartbeat International: Peggy- Director: “Pregnancy centers are good for America. Women do choose life and we meet with Representative in Congress and share the list of services we have and we share with them.” One lady’s comment, “Get may life back in track. This what Heartbeat International did for me?” There are 4,000 Pregnancy Centers around the country. Heartbeat International is a resource center to these centers.

From Human Life International: President Father Shene Boquet “What happens here is a message to the rest of the world. Stand together to change the mandate of HHS: (Health and Human Services) the Cardinal is calling us to arms.

Dr. John at Divine Mercy Care on the HHS Mandate enunciated on Friday, January 20, 2012: “There bureaucrats telling us that we as Catholics need to compromise our conscience and faith. Our conscience is private. We should not be allowed to bring it into the public field. It is a direct frontal assault on our Catholic faith.
“All Catholics need to live our faith. How many in the pews opt out of their beliefs? It is an opportunity for us to share and catechize. It is a direct assault on Catholic Health Care. Abortion is not good medicine; and to provide it for free and that is good health.

“They tell us that medicine is about choice. We must honor the dignity of the human person. Hate the disease but love the patient. Medicine is an act of mercy transforming hearts. This is the theme throughout the day.”

Personal History:

In 2010, I was blessed and became a life-professed member of the Dominican Laity. I was born in Montreal, Canada on December 18, 1930. I graduated from Loyola College (Montreal) in 1952 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. From July to Oct. 1954, I travelled throughout Europe via a backpack, trains and youth hostels.

As a legal immigrant, I joined the U.S. Army in 1958 and honorably discharged in 1962, and obtained U.S. citizenship in less than five years. I was an elementary school teacher from 1963 to 1986 with the Westminster School District, Orange County, California.

In 1967-68, I wrote a series of 14 letters titled “Why Nixon in 1968?” In 1969, I received a M.A. in U.S. History from Pepperdine College in Los Angeles. Thanks to Intercollegiate College Studies Institute for their indirect financial assistance during the summer months. The thesis was “Alexander Hamilton’s Criticism of John Adams’ Foreign Policy.”

I am a member of the Knights of Columbus Cypress Councils 8599 and Mission San Juan Capistrano Assembly 0062. For more than 15 years I have written the monthly pro-life message for the Knights of Columbus bulletins. Also at about the same time I still participate in rosary prayer vigils on Wednesdays and Fridays for about an hour in the morning at abortion mills. The present one is at 2777 Long Beach Blvd., Long Beach Ca. & across the street from L.B. Memorial Hospital.

My parish is St. Peter Chanel Catholic Church in L.A. County. (Hawaiian Gardens)

I am a conservative member of the “Anaheim Republican Assembly” and participant in the 405/605 Patriotic Tea Party that meets monthly at Leisure World, Seal Beach, California. I believe that the California Republican Party is a one-hand–tied- behind -your-back political party.

I hate a raw deal. I believe that Catholics and other Christians are misinformed when the vote for Catholic-in-name only politicians like Nancy Pelosi and Loretta Sanchez in Orange County. That’s why I began this educational, religious and political blog in 2006. The website is under my name or www.cinopsbegoneblogspot.com or cinops be gone. Today, there are more than 1300 letters of information and persuasion. Thanks for reading some of these letters!

George H. Kubeck

P.S. I believe that the mindset and policies of our President Barrack Obama are real threats to the very existence of our beloved traditional America. I mean our historic values, freedom and religious liberties. Obama is like Iran is to Israel. Fortunately, this year we can vote our President out of office in an honest, not a Chicago type of election which I fear. Hopefully, KLAC 870 talk show hosts like Michael Medved and Hugh Hewitt will explain all of the aforementioned and more to their radio listeners. Dennis Prager already does.

Question: How do we deal with, or how much credibility do we give to the Pravda or Goebbels type two-faced & double standard news media? The slant of the N.Y. Times promotes the culture of death values & policies.

Bishop Cordioleone: “We see young people here. We have an initiative called Parental Notification. The truth cannot be suppressed indefinitely. God’s mysterious way to bring people to people together, Catholics and other Christians… It gives me a lot of energy to see people here.” [Part 2 posted on the blog only, not e-mailed to you]

In Defense of Life, Love and Freedom

In Defense of Life, Love and Freedom
Cinops be gone – Tuesday, January 17, 2012

Prof. Helen Alvare discusses religious liberty and the effect of a 50-year social experiment shaping views about human life and sexuality. By Alton J. Pelowski, K. of C. Columbia – January 2012 – Questions & A.

“In September, the U.S. bishops formed an Ad Hoc Committee for Religious Liberty to address concerns affecting religious liberty and conscience protection of individuals and religious institutions. The committee, chaired by Supreme Chaplain Bishop William E. Lori of Bridgeport, Conn., has focused on a number of recent public policy concerns related to the Church’s teachings about human life and sexuality.

“For example, the U.S. bishop’s Office of Migration and Refugee Services was recently denied federal funding for its services, due to new U.S. Department of Health and Human Services regulations requiring that contraception and abortion be made available to victims of human trafficking.

“To explore the implications if such policies, Columbia interviewed Helen M. Alvare, an associate professor of law at George Mason University School of Law in Fairfax, Va., and the former spokeswoman for the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops’ Secretariat for Pro-Life Activities.

Columbia: How does the Department of Health and Human Services mandate for insurance coverage of contraception and sterilization in virtually all private health insurance plans relate to religious freedom and to public health?

Helen Alavare: What the U.S. Department of Health and Services did was to mandate coverage of contraception, sterilization, and some emergency contraceptions, sterilization, and some emergency contraception that can act in an abortifacient way, under the rubric of “preventive health care services.” They provided what they called a “conscience clause,” but framed it so narrowly that any religious entity that either serves or employs people of other faiths cannot take advantage of this exception… on current scholarship indicating convincingly that the HHS mandate is not “preventive health.” To the contrary, it could even have the effect of introducing unintended pregnancies, out-of-wedlock births and abortions. This is due to phenomena called “risk compensation,” whereby, when the federal government floods the population with birth control, more people engage in the risk of sex outside of the committed relationship of marriage. The notion that this mandate is “preventive” is really absurd.

Prof. Helen Alvare’s answers other questions:

1) We have an opportunity right now about the fact that the Catholic approach, which is based on natural law, is actually the better path for happiness, for authentic equality between men and women, for the well being of children, and for the health of society. It is a different approach to sex, to marriage, to parenting that people will find attractive, because they have new evidence and have seen the government experiment go terribly awry…

2) It is very important now for all Catholics to know what the Church teaches about human sexuality, marriage and family, and to recognize that this teaching has to do with human happiness and freedom, the wellbeing of the vulnerable and the equality of men and women. The health of their own family communities and really their nation is at stake. Catholics need to take these teachings seriously and seek out candidates who support this view of the human person. They also need to contact members of their federal and state delegations, because there is a tremendous amount going on right new with regard to marriage, respect for life, health care and educational policy that closely relates to whether or not Catholics will even be permitted to act publicly, or even speak publicly, about their convictions in these crucial areas. …

Who are these Christians?*

Who are these Christians?*
Cinops be gone – Sunday, January 15, 2012

“We are told in the Acts of the Apostles (11:26) that it was at Antioch – it must have been about the year 44 A.D. – that the followers of Jesus were first called Christians. From certain linguistic characteristics we can conclude with relative certainty that it was the Roman authorities who bestowed this name on the believers.

“By it, the disciples of Jesus were designated as the coterie of Christ, as the party of Christ; it goes without saying that the authorities were well aware that this Christ had been put to death as a criminal. Hence Christians were known as the followers of a criminal and consequently since they concurred with his teaching, were themselves worthy of death, being, as it were, members of a criminal organization.

“The name Christian thus became a term used in criminal: whoever bore this name did not have to commit any further crime; he was already guilty. It is all the more remarkable, therefore, that the Christians themselves embraced this designation, which meant death for them.

“Its earliest use is in the First Epistle of Saint Peter, and it occurs with great frequency in the so-called Doctrine of the Twelve Apostles [Didache] and in the letter of Ignatius [ of Antioch], two collections of texts that probably originated in the region of Antioch in about the year 100.

“How can one explain the fact that Christians adopted precisely this designation, which put them literally in danger of death, and were even proud of it? But, in fact, this connection has persisted throughout all of history and today even more than ever before. We might recall, for instance, the martyrs who shed their blood for Christ in Mexico in the ‘20s and ‘30s or the martyrs of the Third Reich – Edith Stein, Maximilian Kolbe, to name just two of the many we might mention.

“Acceptance of the name “Christian” is an acknowledgment of martyrdom, the expression of one’s readiness for martyrdom. The terms “Christian” and “martyr” are synonymous. When we call ourselves Christians, this meaning is always implied.”

Kmiec - "Obama: Friend of the Church?"

Kmiec – “Obama: A Friend of the Church?”
www.cinopsbegone.blogspot.com – Saturday, January 14, 2012

In my analysis, this guy Doug Kmiec is a “sleeper”. He figures out how the Church can adjust to the spirit of the world and water down its beliefs and its rights under the First Amendment. He is somewhat like MSNBC host CINOP Chris Matthews a self-proclaimed and proud Alinskyite who had the gall to call Michele Bachmann a “moron” to her face on election night 2010.

Let’s check out excerpts of the article by James K. Fitzpatrick in the Wanderer Jan. 5, 2012 titled, “President Obama: A Friend of the Church?”

“Have you been wondering how liberal Catholics are going to defend the Department of Health and Human Services’(HHS) decision to require Catholic Institutions to provide coverage for abortion and birth control in their employees’ health care programs? Kmiec shows us how. I predict that we are going to hear a version of Kmiec’s Nov. 25 article in the “National Catholic Reporter” in many circles on the Catholic left.

“In it, he contends that Catholics should feel free to support Obama and the HHS ruling. He assures us that the Obama administration is engaged in a praiseworthy effort to promote religious freedom when it requires Catholic organizations to pay for their employees’ abortions…

“Religious liberty would be violated,” Kmiec continues, only if a Catholic institution were required ‘to affirmatively endorse or require the use of artificial contraception or any other choice contrary to its own teaching or face a penalty.’ & the HHS ruling, he argues, does not do that. It does nothing more than give employees of Catholic, the religious liberty as “citizens to be guided by faith.” Watch: This will become the party line of liberal Catholics in government & media in coming months…

“It must be stressed that when President Obama spoke at Notre Dame in 2009, he assured his audience that he would guarantee Catholics with pro-life convictions a “sensible conscience clause, and make sure that all of our health-care policies are grounded not only in sound science but also in clear ethics.”…

“One can only hope that a good number of the 54% of Catholics who voted for Obama will see through this attempted deception; that they will have learned by now that there is a marked difference between what Obama says and how he governs. The flip-flop from the defense of the conscience clause to the new HHS mandate is just in the latest in a long line of flip-flops…

who called George W. Bush “unpatriotic” for borrowing $4 trillion in eight years, and then borrowed 12 trillion in three… who demonizes millionaires and the “top 1% of wage earners” and now spends his vacations with them on Martha’s Vineyard; … fooling the voters is an admired art form. But it is hard to excuse someone [Doug Kmiec] who uses the same guideline while pretending to defending principle and the teachings of the Church."

George H. Kubeck,

Liberal Catholics teachers & writers stop playing deception games with Catholic readers! 405/605 Tea Party Meeting - Leisure World

405/605 Tea Party Meeting – Leisure World
Relentless pursuit of the truth – www.cinopsbegoneblogspot.com – Friday, January 13, 2012

We had the introduction by David Harlow, the President of the Tea Party in Leisure World, Seal Beach, Calif., on Wed. Jan. 11, 2012, 7 P.M. Many thanks to them for the use of their facility: There must have been more than 200 in attendance.

Nick was the emcee for the evening. There was an introduction of several local persons running for office. The three main speakers were John Ziegler, Abraham Lincoln and Tom Paine.

John Ziegler: John is a talk show host and has a career in radio. He produced “Media Malpractice.” Tea party patriots have a tendency to fall in love with their candidate. We need more than love. We need electability in the kind of America we live in. The mainstream media is vicious in their attacks and will again embrace Obama. He believes we have a chance to beat Obama with Romney as the candidate. We need independents.

He stated that the Conservative Media is a business not a cause. The number one issue is the repeal of OBAMACARE and Romney will definitely repeal it. Newt’s attacks on Romney helps the Democratic Party.

The stand-in for Abe Lincoln: The power of the Constitution will always be with the people. Obama manipulates the Constitution. Powers of the Constitution are few for the federal but many for the States. There are moral laws that should direct our nation.

Our Constitution is only for virtuous people and for a moral and religious people. George Washington, “Education of our youth and in the science of government.”

The stand-in for Citizen Paine: 85% of the people are on our side. How to get the message to all of these voters? 40% of the independents will decide. How to walk the precincts with nuts and bolts skills? We will win. “What we concentrate on We Will Become.”

This is not a political fight. Find common ground via common sense ideas and values. We are fighting for the survival of our country. Do not listen to the Doomers and Gloomers! The big question” How to turn out your largest voting supporters. Alliances and coalitions will be the winners for us.

You need communication skills to do this. “The citizen wants to know what is going to happen to him.” President Reagan, “Nothing will happen in politics without enthusiasm.” Stand up! And Cry out loudly! Are you ready to have the best turn out in history? RESPOND YES. Obama does not have America in his heart. Star packing your bag. How to defeat an incumbent President Obama?

Frame your issues: It’s about ‘what’ not who! Knocking on doors and what to say: Selling common sense and reason: 75% say the government is out of control. Organize your volunteers to create the maximum turnout of voters. “Government must be the servant not the master.”

Destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah

Destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah
Relentless pursuit of the truth – www.cinopbbegone.blogspot.com – Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2012

Genesis 19:1-29 – The Best of the Bible- 365 must Read Bible Passages – a classic – 1996- Livingstone Corp.

That evening the two angels came to the entrance of the city of Sodom, and Lot was sitting there as they arrived. When he saw them he stood up to meet them. Then he welcomed them and bowed low to the ground. My lords,” he said, “come to my home to wash your feet, and be my guests for the night. You may then get up in the morning as early as you like and be on your way again.”

“Oh no,” they said, “We’ll just spend the night here in the city square.” But Lot insisted, so at least they went home with him. He set a great feast before them, complete with fresh bread made without yeast. After the meal they were preparing to retire for the night, all of the men of Sodom, young and old, came from all over the city and surrounded the house. They shouted to Lot, “Where are the men who came to spend the night with you? Bring them so that we can have sex with them.”

Lot stepped outside to talk to them, shutting the door behind him. “Please my brothers,” he begged, “don’t do such a wicked thing. Look – I have two virgin daughters. Do with them as you wish, but leave these men alone, for they are under my protection.

“Stand back!” they shouted. “Who do you think you are? We let you settle among us, and now you are trying to tell us what to do! We’ll treat you far worse than those other men!” And they lunged at Lot and began breaking down the door. But the two angels reached out and pulled Lot in and bolted the door. Then they blinded the men of Sodom so they couldn’t find the doorway.

“Do you have any other relatives here in the city?” the angels asked. “Get them out of this place – sons-in-laws, sons, daughters, or anyone else. For we will destroy the city completely. The stench of the place has reached the LORD, and he has sent us to destroy it.” So Lot rushed out to tell his daughters’ fiancés. “Quick, get out of the city! The Lord is going to destroy it.” But the young men thought he was only joking.

At dawn the next morning the angels became insistent. “Hurry,” they said to Lot. “Take your wife and your two daughters who are here. Get out of here right now, or you will be caught in the destruction of the city.”

When Lot still hesitated, the angels seized his hand and the hands of his wife and two daughters and rushed them to safety outside the city, for the LORD was merciful. “Run for your lives!” the angels warned. “Do not stop anywhere in the valley. And don’t look back! Escape to the mountains or you will die.”

“Oh no, my lords, please,” Lot begged. You have been so kind to me and saved my life, and you have granted me such mercy. But I cannot go to the mountains. Disaster would catch up to me there, and I would soon die. See there is a small village nearby. Please let me go there instead; don’t you see how small it is? Then my life will be saved. “All right the angel said, “I will grant your request. I will not destroy that little village. But hurry! For I can do nothing until you are there.” From that time on, that village was known as Zoar.

The sun was rising as Lot reached the village. Then the LORD rained down fire and sulphur from the heavens on Sodom and Gomorrah. He utterly destroyed them, along with the other cities and villages of the plain, eliminating all life – people, plants, and animals alike. But Lot’s wife looked back as she was following along behind him and she became a pillar of salt.”

Ought to be Best Seller "The Broken Path" - Part 2

Ought to be Best Seller “The Broken Path” – Part 2
In pursuit of the truth – www.cinopsbegoneblogspot.com –Monday, January 9, 2012

Judie Brown is a voice crying in the wilderness. The time has come to hear her voice in the public square. Her last thoughts in the introduction of the Book will be become her first.

“I am not going to stand or walk on a broken path and continue to watch souls go the wrong way. I love being Catholic and I want others to see why… An ordained priest, including Catholic bishops, cannot spread the Good News on Sunday and then, on Monday, decide to ignore the impudence of the Nancy Pelosis, Joe Bidens, and Chris Matthews of the world… An ordained priest, including Catholic bishops, cannot feed the hungry souls when he is more interested in playing footsie with politicians… [This book is an excellent read.]

THE PROBLEM IS THAT FAR TOO MANY BISHOPS HAVE CHOSEN TO AVOID, DENY, OR OTHERWISE IGNORE WHAT IS FUNDAMENTALLY THEIR FIRST AND PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY – THE SAVING OF SOULS…

My task is not to create disunity but to shine light on what is true according to Catholic teaching versus to what is being peddled by some as new pabulum-like strain of Catholic mush… I have been told that our persistent requests that the bishops courageously stand on the laws of the Church is nothing more than denigrating the office of the bishops… Certain bishops have told me that the interpretation of Catholic Church law is not any of my business and that they have their own lawyers to guide their decisions…

There will be those who will decry this work as just another attempt to criticize the Catholic bishops and spread false information among the faithful and the secular world. Such allegations are nothing. They are but an extension of the gobbledygook I have to live with for many years… Today it is nearly impossible to distinguish the Catholic American from any other American. This is unhealthy, not only for the Church but for America as well…

To be clear, we Catholics should proudly stand as witnesses to what is right and just… As Catholics in America, our primary goal must focus on bringing Christ to the public square and standing firmly on the truths taught to us as Catholics… Believe or not, nowhere in Church documents can we find a definition of the ordained priest as partisan politician, lobbyist, or labor leader… As shepherds serving in direct lineage with Christ’s first apostles, the Catholic bishops have a solemn responsibility to feed their people the spiritual nourishment necessary for the flock to grow in its love of Christ,

The involvement of the U.S.C.C.B. in the health care reform debates has made it quite easy to define the reasons, the motives, and the results of a hierarchy that is largely – but not totally – politicized first and Catholic second… For its own sake, of course, there is nothing wrong with political compromise. That’s what politics is all about. But when political posturing is used to water down or misrepresent Catholic teaching, an immense problem results…

It is no secret that the leadership of the United States Catholic Conference of Bishops U.S.C.C.B… has taken the moral currency of Catholic doctrine and, to a large degree, squandered it on securing seats at the table of the political and cultural powerbrokers in America… First came the near silence during a political process that resulted in the election of the most pro-abortion, anti-Catholic individual in the history of the United States – President Barack Hussein Obama… It is obvious that something quite disturbing has happened to Catholic identity in the U.S. Catholic structures, such as schools & hospitals, have grown dependent on government financial support…

Sick Obama Ideas

Sick Obama Ideas
The relentless pursuit of the truth – www.cinopbegoneblogspot.com – Epiphany Sun., Jan. 8, 2012

There at least seven rotten ideas from just one department of the Obama-Czar-CINOP Regime. Take Health and Human Services led by CINOP Sebelius and her clones in Congress including Nancy Pelosi and Loretta Sanchez. At least two of these ideas will make you cringe or vomit.

1.)*“I believe that policy makers have adopted a philosophy that some authors have called “sexualityism.” Sexualityism is a belief that sex has nothing to do with procreation or even the unity between two people, but only wants to preserve the good of expressing yourself sexually for the pleasure – psychological, physical or otherwise -- it gives you as an individual.”

2.)“In addition to the birth control mandates, I think the clearest expression of the federal government embrace of this ideology is its refusal to defend the Defense of Marriage Act. Think about it! This means that our federal government is affirming sexual expression with no possibility for procreation – in same-sex relationships – as of equal value with sexual expression intrinsically related to procreation.”

3.)“What the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services did was to mandate coverage of contraception, sterilization, and some emergency contraception that can act in abortifacient way, under the rubric of “preventive health care services,” They provided what they called a “conscience clause,” but framed it so narrowly that any religious entity that either serves or employs people of other faiths cannot take advantage of this exception.”

4.)“The federal government, more than ever before, will not abide the slightest dissenting voice on the subject of human sexuality. They have put their vision of the human person directly in conflict with religious freedom.”

5.) “Despite the fact that religious institutions have been superior providers in education, health care and social services, the federal administration appears to prefer that the government cooperate with, or even allow to exist, only those organizations strictly agreeing with the governments philosophy. As a result, religious institutions could grow smaller and, in some cases, disappear.”

6.)“Yet, we have the highest rates of nonmarital pregnancies and births in our history, and continuing high rates of abortion and sexually transmitted diseases – higher than before the government became so activist on birth control. There remains, however, a tendency for both federal and state governments to continue to propose more birth control as the answer to nearly everything, and the greatest availability of abortion as the answer to everything else.”

7.)“When you separate sex from babies and reduce sex to just another activity, it’s not only the children who are suffering because of the resulting abortions and unstable family situations, but adults as well. Women, in particular are made miserable in the new market for relationships made possible by widespread birth control and abortion; they feel they must submit to sex as the price for a relationship.”*

How Mitt Romney Enabled 'Gay Marriage"

How Mitt Romney Enabled ‘Gay Marriage’
The relentless pursuit of the truth – www.cinopsbegoneblogspot.com – Saturday, January 07, 2012

By Amy Contrada who is a Massachusetts-based political activist, writer, founder of the MassResistance blog & author of “Mitt Romney’s Deception: His Stealth Promotion of Gay ‘Gay Rights’ and ‘Gay Marriage’ in Mass.” I saw the book on Amazon for $17.50. [Remember Senator Harry Reid is also a Mormon-in-name-only politician.]

“Mitt Romney has claimed that he “took every conceivable step within the law to defend traditional marriage.” This is simply not true. In fact, all he had to do to prevent “gay marriage” from beginning in 2004 was follow the clear separation of powers laid out in the state Constitution. But instead, he kowtowed to the state high court’s dream of “gay marriage” in its 2003 opinion, Goodridge v. Department of Public Health.

“Romney’s liberal tendencies have been well noted, especially with regard to RomneyCare, TARP, gun control, abortion, climate change and immigration policy. “But his failure to stand up for constitutional principles and conservative values following the Goodridge opinion is perhaps his largest failing. That ruling was possibly the most significant perversion of judicial authority since Roe v. Wade. Yet Romney called it “Law’ that he must implement and follow.

“Romney has since repeatedly said that the courts cannot make law and that judicial activism must be opposed. So here we have another Romney flip-flop. Which is it? Can – or cannot courts - make law. In November 2003, four unelected judges on the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court asked the legislature to change the existing man-woman marriage stature to allow for same-sex couples. The legislature ignored that request, knowing the court had not power to order them or to overturn existing law. And the law was never changed.

“But Gov. Romney forged ahead in 2004, ordering his Department of Public Health to print new “Party A & Party B” marriage licenses, and having his chief legal counsel train the town clerks and justices of peace to license and perform the same-sex “marriages” [with no allowances for conscientious objectors]. His legal counsel was later thanked by the homosexual-transgender lobby for his support of the Goodridge ruling. And the N.Y. Times later reported that, while running for governor in 2002, Romney had promised homosexual activists that he would not work against the expected “gay marriage” ruling.

“Gov. Romney had a chance to exhibit genuine leadership on the issue of judicial activism, but chose to cave to the liberal sentiments and donors. His unlawful implementation of “gay marriage” in Mass. In May 2004 set a horrible precedent, and emboldened judicial tyrants and sexual-radical activists around the country.

“What’s more, his current promises to protect traditional marriage should be taken with a grain of salt. For all his talk he has openly supported “civil unions” – differing from marriage only in name. The proposed federal marriage amendment he has pledged to support would not ban civil unions. (Unlikely to pass…)

“Had Mitt Romney just upheld his oath as governor to protect the Massachusetts Constitution and abide by the laws as enacted by the legislature, the marriage landscape across the country would be different now. If Romney couldn’t stand up for constitutional government and conservative values in Mass., how can we trust him to stand up for them in Washington.” Check “Whistleblower” Jan. 2012 issue.

The Tough Love Memo to All U.S. Catholic Bishops

The Tough Love Memo to All U.S. Catholic Bishops

The relentless pursuit of the truth – www.cinopsbegoneblogspot.com – Saturday, Jan. 7, 2012

From Bishop Samuel Aquila in North Dakota

“Therefore anyone who seeks an office in the Church must know that he thereby declares himself for a greater share of the Cross … a shepherd who seeks nothing but approval, who would be content to do only what is required of him, would certainly not be taking his place where the Master has taken his.” Jan. 3rd Meditation by Joseph Cardinal Ratzinger in “Co-Workers of the Truth” Ignatius Press, 1992:

Boot Pro-Abortion Politicians from Church: Washington, D.C. (Life-News) by S. Ertelt, the Wanderer/7-25-11 –“In an interview with Catholic World Report, A Catholic bishop up in North Dakota has given some of the strongest comments yet from a Catholic Church leader on the thorny question of what to do about Catholic politicians who support abortion.

“Bishop Samuel Aquila made it crystal clear he thinks there is a process by which Catholic officials should confront pro-abortion politicians and that they should be “expelled” from the Church if they don’t back down from supporting abortion. Responding to the question “How should the Church respond to Catholic politicians who support legalized abortion?” Bishop Aquila said:

“Their particular bishops can use the process of correction that is given to us in Sacred Scripture, and especially in Matthew’s Gospel. Our Lord tells us to speak to the person and then two or three others with us if he does not change.” “If he still does not change the Church can speak to him, which is done through the bishop. {The bishop} exercises the authority of Christ. Christ then says that if that person is still obstinate and will not change, treat him as a tax collector or Gentile. Expel him.” Far from delighting in throwing people out of the Catholic Church, Aquila says:

“We do this out of love for the person, seeking his conversion. He needs to understand that the salvation of his soul is in jeopardy because of the position he is taking.” “Catholics are called to defend life, particularly that of the unborn. The Church’s teaching is clear. If we don’t challenge public officials who reject this teaching, we will leave them in their sins and confuse the faithful.”

“Thomas Peters of CatholicVote.org applauded Bishop Aquila in an August 15 blog post responding to the interview. “Strong words, yes. But if we do not believe in and speak this strongly about protecting innocent life, how can we speak strongly about other important issues?” [same-sex marriage, embryonic stem-cell research] he said, adding that Aquila is “unambiguous about what the rules for disobedient Catholic politicians ought to be.”…

“It bothers me if any politician, Catholic or not, is for abortion,” Archbishop Dolan has said, “Because in my mind, we’re talking about a civil right, we’re not talking about a matter of Catholic Church discipline. We can’t allow the noble pro-life cause to be reduced to a denominational issue.” In 2008, Dolan took House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Vice President Joe Biden to task for misrepresenting Catholic pro-life teachings… “Does the baby alive in the womb (a biological, not doctrinal, fact) deserve the full protection of the law or not.” “We cannot be mute on this premier civil rights issue of our day,” now Cardinal Timothy Dolan said.

Please send signed Petitions to Los Angeles Una Voce

Dear Friends in Christ,

Una Voce Los Angeles recently petitioned our new Archbishop for a personal parish to be staffed by the FSSP (Priestly Fraternity of St. Peter). Two FSSP priests have also met with the Archbishop. The Archbishop himself has asked that UVLA circulate a petition to see if there is an interest in having a personal parish (dedicated solely to the Traditional Mass, Traditional rites of the Sacraments, daily Mass, etc.) in our Archdiocese. So, there is a good chance for success in getting a personal parish established, we just need a lot of prayer and help in getting the attached petition circulated and signed by many, many Catholics.

Signers must reside in the Los Angeles Archdiocese. The petitions need to be mailed to Una Voce Los Angeles, P.O. Box 3251, Culver City, CA 90231-3251

We would like to have your help, and the help of others you know, in distributing and collecting signatures on the petition. We would really appreciate you and others passing the petition around to anyone in your parish or that you know, who is willing to show their support for an FSSP personal parish to be established in Los Angeles Archdiocese and for the promotion of the Traditional Mass. Children are allowed to sign as long as they can handwrite their signature, no age limits. Please circulate the petition quietly and privately, among yourselves. You do not need a pastor's permission to do this. However, we ask that you do not stand outside your parish church and hand out petitions after Mass to everyone, unless you personally have received permission from your pastor. We prefer that you circulate the petition privately to others, and by email or mail. Thank you for your cooperation with this.

Attached is a copy of the petition. You may print it out and make copies to distribute to those who may be supportive of the Traditional Mass of the Roman Rite (which our Holy Father now calls the Extra-Ordinary Form). Petition signers do not have to be attending the Traditional Mass, they may sign if they support the Pope in promoting the Mass of the Ages which was never abrogated. Our Holy Father recently told the world about the traditional Mass - what was once sacred, remains sacred - he asks for it to be made available to all Catholics world-wide.

Again, we have only until Jan. 12 to mail in petitions to Una Voce Los Angeles (address at bottom of petition). We are hoping for at least 1,000 or many, many more signed petitions. Thank you for anything you are able to do to help with this most important cause for the future of our Archdiocese and the Catholic families that desire an FSSP personal parish be established in the Los Angeles Archdiocese.

Praying all is well with you and your family.
God bless you,
Vicki Peters

Petition for a Personal Parish in the Los Angeles Archdiocese Dedicated Solely to the

Extra-Ordinary Form of the Roman Rite

Your Excellency Archbishop Gomez,

We, the undersigned faithful of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, support the desire of our Holy Father, Pope Benedict XVI,

to promote the Extra-Ordinary Form of the Mass of the Roman Rite.

In accordance with His Holiness, we respectfully request that you invite the Priestly Fraternity of Saint Peter to assist you

in establishing and staffing a personal parish centrally located in the greater Los Angeles Archdiocese to be dedicated

solely to the Traditional Mass of the Roman Rite, now known as the Extra-Ordinary Form of the Roman Rite, as stated in the

provisions of Article 10 of his motu proprio Summorum Pontificum:

Art. 10. The ordinary of a particular place, if he feels it appropriate, may erect a personal parish in accordance with can. 518

for celebrations following the ancient form of the Roman rite, or appoint a chaplain, while observing all the norms of law.

We make this appeal to you in order to most effectively satisfy the legitimate needs and desires of the faithful who wish to live a locally-accessible, constant, full and integrated parish life according to the traditional Roman rites of our One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church and the spirituality of the Roman Missal published by Blessed John XXIII in 1962. Report on the Meeting at McDonald's

Report on the Meeting at McDonald’s
In pursuit of the truth – www.cinopsbegoneblogstop.com - Thursday, January 5, 2012

My people are destroyed for lack of information. The Catholic vote for the culture of death in 2008 was 53%. It may again be a victory for the culture of death candidates in 2012.

The bad news is we had no one in attendance. The good news is we will have more of the same agenda that you can use on your own across the country or at our next meeting Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2012, 9-10AM at McDonald’s Restaurant on Valley View below Ball Rd. in Cypress, California.

On the Agenda!

A.)How can we digest in one letter the information we obtain from the following two letters, and be able to pass it out to the parishioners in the pews?
“Archbishop Gomez and the CINOP” – www.cinopsbegoneblogspot.com – Thurs. Dec. 1, 2011
“Overview of Bishop Lori’s Testimony on Religious Liberty” cinops be gone – Thurs. Nov. 3/11

B.)What is the best follow-up to yesterday’s letter on Hilda Solis, Secretary of Labor?
“Hilda Solis: Who are you?” – www.cinopsbegoneblogsport.com – Wed. Jan. 4, 2012
I think you will agree that the thoughts of Bishop Aquila make a lot of sense. His thoughts will be printed out before the next meeting. What are some ways to follow-up on the message of Bishop Aquila? E-mail me on this matter or any other suggestions in Section A. B. or C.

C.)Judie Brown’s book, The Broken Path. I am concerned that Judie is not really promoting her book. However, I just checked Amazon.com: Customer Reviews: The Broken Path- John Weingarten (Spokane, WA United States), Jan. 4, 2012 gave her a 5 star review. Here is his review: We must make it a best seller:

“The Broken Path is an amazing, disturbing, thought provoking, and ultimately uplifting book by one of the true heroes of the pro-life movement. It’s eminently readable and, at least for me, a real page-turner. Once I started reading, I had a hard time putting it down…

If you’re confused about why so many Catholic bishops don’t stand up to courageously defend the most fundamental of life issues the Catholic Church teaches. The Broken Path will set you straight. If you don’t understand how Catholic hospitals could be performed sterilization procedures and offering artificial birth control (both contrary to Catholic teaching and a culture of life), you’ll learn the answer here. If you’re wondering why a Catholic student is likely to be led away from the faith at most “Catholic” universities (and where to turn to find a good one) The Broken Path explains it all.

Finally, my advice is to buy and read this book. Buy extra copies for your favorite priests and your bishop, and, as Judie Brown wisely advises, pray for our priests and bishops.”

I purchased my book from American Life League, P.O. Box 1350, Va. 22555, www.all.org. The book costs $14.95 and the shipping cost was $5.95. Get the Christian book stores to stock it up.

George H. Kubeck, Remember we are not discussing prudential issues upon which all Americans can agree or disagree. The mindset of the CINOP in promoting absolute evils like partial-birth abortion, same-sex marriage etc. is incomprehensible. He is on the same level as persons promoting fornication, adultery and pornography.

Hilda Solis: Who are you?

Hilda Solis: Who are you?
The relentless pursuit of the truth – www.cinopsbegoneblogspot.com – Wednesday, January 4, 2012

P.S. How can any normal Catholic use the Catholic label to run for office with the beliefs and voting records similar to Hilda Solis? How much longer must American Catholics and voters put up with this hogwash? Mr. CINOP, run for office but don’t use the Catholic label. You are fraud and hypocrite when you do so. You are lying to the voters, Catholic and non-Catholics. Hilda Solis, shame on you! Stop prostituting the Catholic label!

You, Hilda Solis, call yourself a Catholic in public office. You are President Barack Obama’s so-called Catholic secretary of labor. In the past you have spoken publicly as follows:

*“When Solis served in the U.S. House in 2003, she voted against the partial-birth abortion ban. The day President Bush signed it; she called for the Supreme Court to reverse it. “I would just like to say it’s the wrong decision that the president is making today,” Solis said, “and we have to stand up and challenge him.”

“On the 31st anniversary of Roe v. Wade in 2004, Solis celebrated three decades of abortion on demand. “I’ll take a pro-choice president, a pro-choice House, “And I look forward to the day again when … And I look forward to the day again when … we can build a majority so that anti-choice legislation won’t even come to the floor.”

“In 2009, when the nation was debating Obama’s health care plan, Solis, now in the cabinet, told the AFL-CIO convention that people who said the plan would fund abortion were lying. “Don’t believe the misinformation and distortions perpetrated by those whose agenda is only to kill reform at any cost, like that we plan to do … use federal dollars to fund abortions,” Solis said. These are lies, as the president said; he is going to call them out.”…

[Hilda Solis showed up with a $4.2 million grant to the Catholic University President John Garvey.]

“Garvey had just published a powerful oped in The Washington Post attacking regulations the Department of Health and Human Services has proposed under Obamacare that would require all private health plans to cover sterilizations and all contraceptives approved by the FDA – including those that cause abortion.

“If we comply, as the law requires, we will be helping our students to do things that we teach them, in our classes and in our sacraments, are sinful – sometimes gravely so,” wrote Garvey. “It seems to us that a proper respect for religious liberty would warrant an exemption for our university and other institutions like it.” The regulation would also force individual lay Catholics – mandated by Obamacare to buy health insurance – to either break the law or act against their consciences…

*Excerpts from Terrence P. Jeffrey titled, “The Question Hilda Solis won’t answer” in the Wanderer, Oct. 13/11

George H. Kubeck – Reminder – we meet tomorrow Thurs. Jan. 5th and Thurs. Jan. 19th from 9-10 AM at McDonald’s on Valley View just below Ball Rd. in Cypress. Also mark your calendar for Thursday, Feb. 2nd & 16th.

The Possible Deadlocked Republican Convention

The Possible Deadlocked Republican Convention
In pursuit of the truth – www.cinopbegoneblogspot.com – Jan. 1, 2012

Background: I first sent 80 dollars to the Bachmann campaign. Then 40 dollars to the Cain campaign. Yesterday, I sent 20 dollars to the Newt campaign. What’s the beef with Romney? You can’t trust him on marriage. As a Republican governor of Massachusetts 2002-2006, he was a RINO and a Mormon- in- name only. He was weak in the promotion of marriage, life and family. Same-sex marriage America is not America anymore. As Governor he was influenced by the Log Cabin Republicans. They are a misguided special interest Gay agenda group who want to change the soul of the Republican Party. The Gay activists have succeeded with the Democratic Party.

Keep the following news items in mind: Orange County Register, Fri. Dec. 30/11 – Opinion Section:

1.Gay Marriage: Deroy Murdock, media fellow with the Hoover Institute, Stanford University-------- -- “As a gay-marriage proponent, I was pleased to learn that then Gov. Willard Mitt Romney, R. Mass., issued at least 189 special-issue, one-day marriage licenses to same-sex couples in 2005 alone. These documents let these 378 people enjoy nuptials officiated by relatives, friends and others who normally do not perform weddings. This boost for gay marriage surprised me, given Romney’s numerous contrary pronouncements on the matter. “I agree with 3000 years of recorded history,” Romney announced as Governor. ‘Marriage is an institution between a man and a woman. ‘I oppose same-sex marriage,’ Romney declared at Iowa’s Dec. 15 GOP debate. ‘That’s been my position from the beginning’. ROMNEY’S STATEMENT CONFLICTS WITH HIS GUBERNATORIAL BEHAVIOR.” [Do we not have a Mormon-in-name-only Governor? Isn’t Democratic Senator Harry Reid one?]

2. Nancy Pelosi vs. the Knights of Columbus: http://cinopsbegoneblogspot.com – Sunday, Oct. 24/10 This is a horrendous scandal. It took place in the Massachusetts State Legislature in June, 2007. The Knights of Columbus with the help of all Christian denominations [Especially Evangelicals] collected 170,000 signatures to put on the ballot for the marriage amendment. [Marriage is between a man and a woman.] Nancy Pelosi came to town and bribed 16 Knights of Columbus Democratic State legislators with campaign money which came mostly from the Gay Agenda Lobby. [Does that include Log Cabin Republicans?] These 16 K.C. members blocked the marriage amendment measure from being on the ballot in 2008. For Nancy Pelosi this was a great victory; not good for the Democratic Party’s Presidential nominee for this amendment to be on the Massachusetts ballot in 2008.

3. Columnist Cal Thomas: “[Louisiana Gov.] Bobby Jindall’s electoral and economic successes should serve not only as a model, but also an inspiration to Republican candidates for president and Congress.” Jindall’s first-term record: a.) 26% ($9 billion) – reduced state budget, b.) 45,000 new jobs announced, c.) 4th year more people moving into Louisiana than out, d.) 68.5% - re-elected in October with this percentage of votes. Bobby is the Republican governor in a Democratic registered state.

George H. Kubeck,

P.S. President Barrack Obama is so far out on core American values that you cannot really place him on an American baseball team. I am sorry to share this reality with you. Neither can you permit the double standard two-faced mainstream media decide who will be the Republican candidate for President?
