BEN CARSON ON ISSUES IN HIS OWN WORDS # 3

BEN CARSON ON ISSUES IN HIS OWN WORDS # 3
In pursuit of the truth - http://www.cinopsbegoneblogspot.com - Wednesday, December 31, 2014    Preface:
It was the end of the year, 1812, when John Quincy Adams penned these words in his diary: " I offer to a merciful God at the close of this year my humble tribute of gratitude for the blessings with which He has, in the course of it, favored me and those dear to me." His entry is for all of us.
CLASS WARFARE:
"Class warfare is an artificial division created for political advantage, and it should be rejected outright by the American people - for we have far too many real problems to devote energy to artificial ones." America the Beautiful, page 161
DEBT:
"To saddle the next generation with unimaginable debt is not only callous, it is morally reprehensible. How can we even live with ourselves knowing that we are eroding the standard of living of the next generations with each dollar that we add to the national debt."
"It is hard to believe that our leaders in both political parties do not understand that they are jeopardizing the financial future of the next generations by allowing continued debt  accumulation, even if they are slowing the rising of the debt." One Nation, page 73
EBOLA:
"I am not comfortable with the idea of bringing infected individuals into our midst when we can readily treat them elsewhere. We can happily receive them back once the infection danger has passed. When on does a logical benefit-to-risk analysis, it is clear that the worst things that could happen by intentionally bringing this dangerous disease to America are far worse than the best things that could happen." The Washington Times, October 9, 2014
EDUCATION:
"When we instill morals and values into the educational process for young people, however, we help them realize they have an obligation to become will educated and informed citizens, and to contribute to the system as opposed to draining it of its resources. Public prayer and discussion of common principles that strengthen society's moral fabric are essential to establishing an atmosphere of courtesy and decency. The renowned Noah Webster said, "Society requires that education of youth should be watched with the most scrupulous attention. Education, in a great measure, forms the moral characters of men, and morals are a basis of government."America, p.59
" Reading was emphasized so strongly among the early settlers of America that anyone finishing the second or third grade was completely literate, as is borne out in the absolutely beautiful prose that characterized the writing skills and letters received from the Western frontiers of America in the early 19th century." Washington Times, July 16, 2014
ENERGY INDEPENDENCE:
"Several administrations have talked about the importance of energy independence, yet we remain as dependent on foreign oil as we were years ago."
"It is estimated that the amount of oil in the Dakotas and Montana is eight times greater than the amount of oil in Saudi Arabia."
"I thoroughly believe that we have a duty to protect our environment not only for ourselves but for the next generations. However, we also have a duty to develop our economic potential and free ourselves of unnecessary stress and dependency on volatile foreign sources of energy. As a bonus, energy independence for us means decreased revenues for radical terrorist elements who aim to destroy our way of life. - One Nation, pages 149 & 150
"Expanding our wealth of energy resources, as well as encouraging development of new renewable energy resources can provide an enormous economic lift with obvious benefits, but it can also bolster our role as a formidable player in the struggle for world leadership." - Washington Times, March 26, 2014
Happy New Year,
GEORGE H. KUBECK
THANKS TO RACE AGITATORS, RACE RELATIONS IN AMERICA ARE AT AN ALL TIME LOW. OUR NATION MUST FOCUS IN ON THIS NATIONALPUBLIC GOOD AND THE WELFARE OF OUR AFRICAN-AMERICANS. THIS IS A TOP PRIORITY IN THIS 2016 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS. THE DEMOCRATIC CONTROLLED CITIES WHERE MOST OF OUR AFRICAN-AMERICANS LIVE IN ARE  POLITICAL, SOCIAL, AND ECONOMIC DISASTERS. THE DEMOCRATIC POLICIES AND IDEAS JUST DON'T WORK. THEY ARE BANKRUPT AND DESTRUCTIVE IN BUILDING STRONG FAMILIES AMONG THE PEOPLE. AFRICAN AMERICANS  DESERVE A BETTER DEAL. BY ALL ACCOUNTS, BEN CARSON CAN SHOW THEM THE WAY. BESIDES WINNING THE PRESIDENCY, HE IS THE ONLY ONE THAT CAN SUCCEED IN THIS MATTER.

BEN CARSON ON ISSUES IN HIS OWN WORDS # 2

BEN CARSON ON ISSUES IN HIS OWN WORDS # 2
In pursuit of the truth - http://www.cinopsbegone.blogspot.com - Friday, Dec. 26, 2014
AMERICAN UNITY:
"The word "racism" is tossed around so easily by those intent on creating division and victimhood instead of unity." Washington Times, July 24, 2013

BALANCING THE BUDGET:
"I believe the logical approach would be to have each government agency and department trim its budget by 10 percent - with no exceptions. In each subsequent year, another 10 percent decrease would be required and would continue as long as necessary to bring the budget back into balance." America the Beautiful, page 109

BORDER SECURITY:
" I do think it is necessary to secure the border. We need to have control over who is in our country, we need to know who they are, and what they're doing here." Newsmax, June 2014

CAPITALISM:
"The concept of rewards for production lies at the foundation of capitalism and needs to understood. The anticipation of rewards for being unproductive and the fear of consequences for being unproductive are great human motivators for both young and old. Historically, when these motivators are removed, productivity declines. Nonproductive people frequently make excuses for their lack of production, and as long as they can utilize those excuses, they have no reason to change their ways. But motivate them and watch what happens." America the Beautiful, p. 74-75

CIVIL RIGHTS AND RACISM:
"Although much overt racism has been eliminated in America, there are still too many people who make sweeping generalizations about whole groups of people based on a negative encounter with a person of a different race. In order to resolve this problem, we must first admit that it exists even in our own families or ourselves - and African-American are just as likely to harbor racist attitudes as white people." America the Beautiful, page 117
" I found that it was the Republicans who were responsible for the abolition of slavery and for the passage of the Civil Rights Act. I also began to realize that it was not political biases that were largely responsible for the plight of African-Americans in our nation, but rather racist attitudes. After the many gains realized through the civil rights movement, the racist people from both parties adopted a paternalistic attitude toward African-Americans and enacted federal and state programs designed to take care of people who couldn't take care of themselves - people who were ignorant, stupid, or just plain lazy. In the process of being 'do-gooders' both Republicans and Democrats removed much of the drive and determination from innumerable African-Americans, who found it easier to accept government charity than continue on a path of hard work and self-reliance." America the Beautiful, page 157

SEASONS GREETINGS VS. MERRY CHRISTMAS

SEASONS GREETINGS VS. MERRY CHRISTMAS
in pursuit of the truth - http://www.cinopsbegoneblogspot.com - Thursday, December 25, 2014

Excerpts from a homily this morning: (St. Peter Chanel Catholic Church)

Our God and creator has become a man. He is one of us. Give glory to God who is born today, the Incarnation. God want to live in our hearts daily.

Historically, Christmas brings to our minds the most monumental event in the history of the world. It is an event that fulfills human nature itself. Yes, even pagan human nature and desires that are fulfilled in Christ.

However, TV News and advertisers seldom us the words Merry Christmas in TV commercials. It is always happy holidays and season greetings. The true meaning of Christmas is not explained. Most listeners are short-changed. The emphasis is on consumerism and persuade you to buy something that will make you happy. It also means to be nice to one another.  They persuade you to buy things that make you happy and keep the economy going.

The ancient Greek mythology tended to express the people's deep desires. The idea of having a solitary God was repulsive to them. However, in our God we have the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Also, they had the desire to have God come down and live with us.

Our God did come down. Jesus came to live with us. There is a want to become God-like. "God became man to make us God." And share the divine nature of God.

Look at all the people's mythology. We all want to know God as a family. We want to share God.

All of this is not on TV News Advertisement.  Merry Christmas means the Incarnation of God. We have the fulfillment of our human nature. Give our lives totally to Christ.

We believe in the Incarnation. God entered our universe as Jesus, a human being like ourselves. Every one is called to live in Christ. We will reveal Christ to others. Make this happening right now. Give glory to God who is born today and lives in our hearts daily.

Merry Christmas,
George H. Kubeck

Jesus Christ is the reason for the season.

ABORTION:
Ben Carson's tenacious commitment to life is evident in this recounting of an exchange with the head of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) on the issue of abortion.
"I asked him if he would speak for and defend the rights of a twenty-eight-week-old baby (born prematurely) who was in an incubator and on life support. He replied that that was a no brainer; of course the ACLU would defend such an individual ... I then asked why it was difficult to defend a baby that was five weeks further along in development and was in the most protected environment possible, but easy to defend a less viable individual who was outside the womb." - America the Beautiful, pages 99 & 100.
"How can a society that kills millions of innocent unborn babies and then labels anyone opposing the practice as 'anti-woman' claim even a modicum of goodness? How can a nation that uses its news media to subtly trash traditional families, promote a drug-filled lifestyle, and ridicule faith in God claim the mantle of righteousness?" Washington Times, April 16, 2014
"According to God's word, life begins at conception rather than at the time of delivery or at some arbitrary point during gestation."
"In the Book of Exodus, chapter 21, versus 22-24, it is made quite clear that God considers the life of the unborn to just as valuable as the life of an adult. When you couple this belief with the commandment, "'Thou shalt not kill' (Exodus 20:13), it is clear that abortion is rarely a moral option." - One Nation, page 193
AMERICAN COMPASSION:
"When disasters occur in other countries, who is first on the scene with massive aid? The United States, of course. It does not matter whether the mishap befalls a friend or an enemy, we are always there. It doesn't matter whether it is a very poor country like Haiti or a very rich country such as Japan, we are still always there. Our compassion for and aid to other countries is unprecedented in the history of the world." - America the Beautiful, page 184
AMERICAN EXCEPTIONALISM:
"In 1831, Alexis de Tocqueville, the famous French historian, came to America to study our nation.... Tocqueville was impressed by the fiery sermons that emphasized the word of God and the social mores of the day. He concluded his American analysis by saying 'America is great, because America is good. If America ceases to be good, she will cease to be great.' America was different because we openly acknowledged the role of God in our lives." Washington Times, April 16, 2014.
"... there has never been another nation like the United States of America. Yes, we have made mistakes, but we continue to learn from them, and as long as we remain capable of embracing life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness as our goal, and we are willing to guarantee those things to our citizens, I believe we will continue to grow in greatness." - America the Beautiful, page 194.
AMERICAN GENEROSITY:
"America has been and continues to be the most generous nation on earth. We love to help the less fortunate, and I hope we always care for our fellow man." Washington Times, July 17, 2013
AMERICAN GREATNESS:
"Although it was an arduous road filled with obstacles and grueling hours, I was able to realize my dream because of generous we enjoy here in our nation. It is this ability of anyone to achieve their dreams that is perhaps the greatest thing about America." America the Beautiful, page 184
AMERICAN LEADERSHIP:
"It is time to set aside political correctness and replace it with the bold values and principles that founded our nation and caused it to race to the pinnacle of the world faster than any other nation in history. It is time to stop apologizing and to start leading, because the world is desperately in need of fair and ethical leadership. If that leader is not America, who will it be, and where will they lead?" - America the Beautiful, page 195

JUST 17% OF THE BLACK VOTE

JUST 17% OF THE BLACK VOTE
In pursuit of the truth - http://www.cinopsbegone.blogspot.com -Friday, Dec., 19, 2014
Preface: How lucky informed Americans are with Dennis Prager on talk radio KLAC 870 A.M., Bill O'Reilly on Fox News and Richard Thompson , President of Thomas More Law Center.
"Everywhere we look, America is in a deepening crisis. Our nation's religious and moral foundations are disintegrating... A corruptness has taken over our political system. Politicians of both major parties are more interested in appeasing special interests groups to win elections than doing what is in the best interests of the American people and the continued existence of a free and independent nation based on Christian principles. We need to keep our Nation's traditional Judeo-Christian values at the forefront." Richard Thompson
But wait we have Ben Carson for President. His booklet, Ben Carson, On the Issues in His own Words:  will be printed out in future letters. Ben is a breadth of fresh air in the political arena.
Here are excerpts from RUN BEN RUN - Congrats, America: Ben Carson is now your 2016 GOP Front Runner: December 18, 21014.
"It's not only national polls like FOX News that now show Ben Carson as a frontrunner for President of the United States, the Des Moines Register poll in Iowa also has Carson at the top. Remember, the 2015 Iowa Caucus is just one year away.
"That's right, if Ben Carson receives just 17% of the black vote he wins every swing state and marches right into the White House as the first president who is a descendant of slaves. Frankly, I (John Phillip Sousa IV, Chairman, National Draft Ben Carson for President Committee) expect Ben Carson to win much more than just 17% of the black vote ... maybe a majority.
And when you consider the fact that Ben Carson has long been used as a role model for young African Americans by their parents, why shouldn't he receive a majority of the Black vote? Don't forget that virtually all black Americans have seen the full length movie starring Cuba Gooding, Jr., Gifted Hands, that depicts the amazing story of Ben Carson.
But, there is even better data that confirms the power of a respected black candidate for President like Ben Carson.
When Herman Cain ran for President in 2012, his internal polls showed him winning more than 40% of the black vote and nearly 60% of the Hispanic vote. Cain's campaign team was stunned....
They finally concluded that it was because of both black and Hispanic Americans identified with the life experience of Herman Cain. He had escaped poverty to become a successful and prosperous businessman. And because poor blacks and Hispanics want to escape poverty, why not support someone who knows how to do so? ... Ben Carson is an icon in those communities.
Ben Carson grew up in one of the worst areas of Detroit, Michigan to become a world-renowned pediatric neurosurgeon. He became the youngest division chairman in the history of John Hopkins University Hospital, leading that multi-hundred million dollar enterprise to new levels of innovation and success.
Most important, Ben Carson has never lost touch with where he started. He and his wife Candy started the Carson Scholars Fund to help had working and intelligent students escape poverty and succeed in life. The nonprofit the Carson's started now operates in all fifty states, helping thousands of students to follow his path to success.

THE MEANING OF ADVENT

THE MEANING OF ADVENT
In pursuit of the truth - http://www.cinopsbegoneblogspot.com - Friday, December 5, 2014
Advent "- what does it meant? "Advent" is a Latin word that can be rendered in English as "presence, arrival". In the language of the ancient world it was a technical term expressing the arrival of an official especially the arrival of kings or emperors in the provinces.
It could however, equally denote the arrival of the deity who appears out of concealment and powerfully manifests his presence or whose presence was celebrated in cultic ritual.
The Christians adopted the term to proclaim their special relationship to Jesus Christ.
For them, he is the King who entered this wretched province, our world, and gifted it with the feast of his visit. He it is whose presence in the liturgical assembly they profess.
With this expression they intended to say, in general, "God is here." He has not abandoned this world. He has not left us alone. Even though we cannot see and touch him like so many things - he is present, nevertheless, and visits us in many ways.
Advent is a two-fold reminder for us: for one, that God's presence in the world has already begun, that he, in hidden ways, is already here; and that his presence has only just begun and not yet reached completion but still is growing, developing and maturing.
His presence has already begun, and we, the believers, are the ones through whom he desires to be present in the world... "the Light of the world" has already appeared in the darkness of the night in Bethlehem and has changed the unholy night of human sin into the holy night of divine forgiveness for this sin.
+++++++
Advent is not mere remembrance and representation of something of the past but that Advent means this present time, this our present reality: the Church here does not indulge in play but refers us to something that represents the truth about our Christian existence as well....
+++++++
One of the fundamental elements of Advent is waiting, which at the same time is hoping.  Advent thus expresses the essence of Christian chronology and the essence of history as such. Jesus has illustrated this in many parables: in the story of the servants who wait for the return of their master or else, forget about his return and act as though they were the owners; ... and in the parables of seedtime and harvest...
For the gifts of Jesus Christ does not merely reside in the future but indeed extend into the present. He, though hidden, dwells here already. He speaks to me in manifold ways - through Sacred Scripture, through the Church season, through the saints, through the various events in everyday life, through all of creation, which takes on a different appearance when he is standing behind it rather than being shrouded in the fog of dubious origin and dubious destiny.
I can talk to him; I can wail before him and offer him my sufferings, my impatience, my questions, knowing that he is lending me an open ear.
