THE FAMILY - THE CHURCH IN MINIATURE

THE FAMILY - THE CHURCH IN MINIATURE

In pursuit of the truth - http://www.cinopsbegoneblogspot.com - Monday, Feb. 23, 2015

REF: Today's meditation on the importance of the family in Joseph's Cardinal Ratzinger's book, "Co-Workers of the Truth" Ignatius, 1992.

In the Gospel, the net is first of all a symbol for the Kingdom of God, which is lowered into the sea of time, into the sea of history, in order to lift the human race out of the realm of silence, of darkness, of fruitfulness, into another dimension: into the "kingdom of justice, love, and peace."

This Kingdom is already present among us as the net that gathers us together; but it is also still before us as a movement that draws us up to the light.

" The Church [too] is a net", the Holy Father said, and continued: " ... bound together by the Holy Spirit, united by the apostolic mission, efficacious by the unity of faith, life, and love.

His thought turned then to the smallest, but nonetheless irreplaceable, unit of the Church: the family, which is known to Tradition as the "domestic church". the church in miniature.

This is the "net that is strong, that gives unity, that rescues from the storms of the deep".

Then followed a moving appeal from the successor of Saint Peter: "Let us not permit this net to torn!" I would gladly proclaim this appeal to the coming year as a slogan that will reverberate loudly from day to day; that will be a reminder to families, to the state, and to society as a whole that they must not permit this net to torn.

We know in how many places it has been torn already: we know how many predatory fish have worked with might and main to tear it to pieces, allegedly in order to free people from their imprisonment in it.

But it would be an empty freedom into which they would sink: the freedom of death, of loneliness, of the darkness when truth is lost. It would be a liberation from the Kingdom of justice, love, and peace - from that new dimension into which the net is drawing us.

Only 17%  of Black American children grow up with a mother and father. Everything possible must be done for this and other American families to stop this trend. The authentic U.S. Presidential candidate for the Black family movement in America is: Ben Carson. PERSUADE HIM TO RUN.

CANADA'S EXPERIENCE WITH SAME-SEX MARRIAGE - # 2 OF 2

    CANADA'S EXPERIENCE WITH SAME-SEX MARRIAGE - # 2 OF 2
In pursuit of the truth - htttp://www.cinopsbegone.blogspot.com - Friday, Feb. 20, 2015
"Stockholm Syndrome was much talked about in the 1970's when the wealthy heiress Patty Hearst was abducted and held for ransom, but was then shown joining in with her captors robbing a bank and brutalizing innocent people. Before being abducted there was no indication that Hearst was psychopathic, there was no suggestion of a latent criminality, rather the villainy of Patty Hearst was caused by the psychological manipulation of her captors.

For Hearst in captivity, her autonomous personhood was denied. Whether and when she could stand, sit, lie down, eat, drink, sleep, speak or be silent - control over all these things were denied her. She was denied any agency, rendered helpless, obliterated as a person. Then, once complete breakdown was achieved, small kindnesses and the restoration of order and therefore the possibility of meaning reconstituted her universe. But Hearst's new universe was created by and ordered around her captor who was now also her saviour.

The legalization of same-sex "marriage" is not about allowing something; same-sex marriage was already taking place. It was not about recognizing something; spousal and survivor benefits, family tax incentives and other advantages to marriage were being or could have been granted without calling it marriage. The legalization of same-sex "marriage' was about prohibiting a definition of heterosexual marriage as normative. It was about the state denying the right to speak one of the most obvious truths about human nature. It was about a conspiracy to enforce collective madness, cultivate psychological dependence and achieve totalitarian control.
Of course it seemed anti-climatic to most, since we seldom see the significance of what is happening as it happens. Further, Canadians never utter opinions contrary to the spirit of the age, the vast majority of parents passively submit to educational professionals and popular entertainment as the primary educators of their children, a large majority of people no longer take religion seriously, and for those who did, a large majority of the clergy had long ago given up on preaching the more difficult teachings of Christianity.

The march to madness was long and over time there was more and more truths about which we could not speak. In public places conservatives had to live increasingly within their own minds, and for anybody, alone in your own mind can be a dangerous place. In our Walter Mitty imaginations most of us had swooned in self-adulation at the thought of a glorious stand that we would make if push ever came to shove.

In our own mind's eye our personal Calvary would be heroic and unflinching. But the sad truth is that most of us die by the inch rather than the sword, and  this we knew in our heart of hearts, and so many came to despise ourselves and give up. The legalization of same-sex marriage in Canada has decimated the social conservative movement.
The passage of the Civil Marriage Act was the formal registration of our collective divorce from natural law and sanity. It was a breathtaking example of political and cultural revolution. But at another level it was more than that. With the passage of the Civil Marriage Act we surrendering our right to teach our children about manhood and womanhood, husband and wife. Because the truth is, all along about children.

Virtually every homosexual is inordinately preoccupied with his own childhood. Childhood and puberty are the most dynamic periods of psycho-sexual development and all homosexuals puzzle over their sexuality. Unlike animals whose sexuality is purely instinctive, human sexuality is a combination of instinct and socialization. There are many contributors to a child's socialization; family, peers, schools, culture, but all of these are overseen by the state that has the power of laws and punishments.

The sexual revolutionaries who lobbied for the legal recognition of same-sex "marriage" had already achieved every legal benefit or could have easily achieved every legal benefit enjoyed by heterosexual marriage through legal recognition of same-sex civil unions, but that would have fallen short of the prize most coveted, the power to deny heterosexuals any claim to distinctiveness and the right to indoctrinate children accordingly.

A revolution has taken place in Canada. It was long time coming and all of its fruits have yet to ripen but the revolution has surely happened & the term for the new regime starts with capital T. GEORGE H. KUBECK

CANADA'S EXPERIENCE WITH SAME-SEX MARRIAGE - 1 OF 2

  CANADA'S EXPERIENCE WITH SAME-SEX MARRIAGE - # 1 of 2
In pursuit of the truth - http://www.cinopsbegoneblogspot.com - Sunday, Feb. 15, 2015
The Supreme Court has announced it will rule on same-sex "marriage" in this sitting (June, 2015) - exactly ten years after Canada legalized same-sex "marriage." It is important to look at what has happened in Canada.  (Reprinted with permission from Crisis Magazine)
On July 20, 2005, Canada became the fourth country in the world to legalize same-sex "marriage." On that day the sun rose as it always does, people went to work, daily Mass was celebrated in Catholic Churches and daily life continued to unfold at it normally does. In the days and months following there was no massive spike in the numbers of same-sex couples getting "married" (it had already been legal in 8 of 10 provinces since 2003), the speculated upon possibility of same-sex "marriage" tourism from the U.S. never really materialized and the Canadian flag was changed from the maple leaf to LGBT rainbow. But something very significant happened with the legalization of same-sex "marriage" in Canada and it wasn't about the freedom of gay people to marry, it wasn't really about marriage.
July 20, 2005 marked a very significant step towards totalitarianism in Canada.
Free speech, the rights of parents, the right to preach and practice one's religion and the worn and tattered fibers of normative decency were all deeply damaged. With the legalization of same-sex "marriage" what had been aberrant only a few years earlier became entrenched as a legal right, and what had been normal and natural view of sexuality had been reduced to the retrograde thinking of hate crime dinosaurs.
Terrence Prendergast is the Catholic archbishop of Ottawa. Speaking at St. Thomas University in Minnesota in 2012, he outlined the consequences of same-sex "marriage" in Canada. His list included: restrictions on freedoms, forced sex education, sexually confused children, sexual experimentation among children, muzzling and debilitating the Church, more births out of wedlock, more in-vitro fertilizations, more abortions, more poverty, more misery more disease, more addictions and higher health care costs.
Calgary bishop Frederick Henry was called before a Human Rights Commission Tribunal in 2005 for writing a letter defining Catholic teaching on same-sex "marriage." During his speech, Archbishop Prendergast quoted Bishop Frederick Henry saying: "Human rights laws designed as shield are now being used as a sword. The issue is rarely truth formation, but rather censorship. and applying a particular theology through threats, sanctions and punitive measures." Archbishop Prendergast continued: "The Bible is being called hate literature. Clearly, the Church is in the cross hairs. There will be growing pressure for the Church to comply or be shut down."
Collective madness is a term usually applied to the fevered frenzy of the mob, but there is darker, more systematic and more enduring collective madness achieved by reducing obvious truths to elephants in the room. With the legalization of same-sex "marriage" we had a legal edict establishing the normative nature of same-sex "marriage" and thereby ruling out as discriminatory essential arguments about the complementarity of male and female or the procreative purpose of marriage.
Normally, the first thing we notice about a person is their sex, and the first things we realize when thinking about the sexes are the obvious physical complementary of male and female, but in the new SSM regime these simple and obvious truths must be appended with a caveat saying that there is no such thing as nature, human sexuality is plastic and there is nothing essentially organic. good or true.
This is hugely significant for the psycho-sexual formation of the young and for the happiness and flourishing of individuals and society as a whole, but it is also a decisive step towards the destruction of critical intelligence, the cultivation of abject dependence, and then finally madness and totalitarianism.
Doug Mainwaring works with CanaVox, a project of the Witherspoon Institute. He is a self-described gay man who is abstinent. Mainwaring describes the efforts to redefine marriage a " form of incremental totalitarianism." According to Mainwaring "gays and lesbians have been used as pawns by progressives to bring about this wedge issue that I really feel strongly is meant to usher in incremental totalitarianism."

THE NATIONAL CONVERSATION ON RACE

  THE NATIONAL CONVERSATION ON RACE
In pursuit of the truth - http://www.cinopsbegoneblogspot.com -  Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2015
A Message to the Republican Party
Selected Excerpts from Noah C. Rothman, "The 'Conversation About Race' That Isn't a Conversation" from "Commentary" February, 2015

Preface:
The conversation about race is a mindset created by Liberals and Progressives to insure that in every election 90% of Black Americans will vote Democratic. The time has come for the Republican Party to correct this mindset and get closer to the truth and not political correctness in solving so-called race problems. Black American Presidential Candidate Ben Carson will make the difference. Almost every state in the Union will become a fair contest.
Leftists hate Ben Carson and will seek to destroy him. That for any  American is a badge of honor and an inspiring hope for Black Americans that there are better days ahead with the Republican Party.

1. "Before 1994, the New York Times had never printed the now-ubiquitous phrase "national conversation on race."

2. "Hillary Clinton once insisted that her rejected overtures of friendship toward a white sports teammate in college lent her genuine credibility to speak on the issue of race."

3. "During a 37-minute speech, Barack Obama became an even handed, one man embodiment of the national conversation on race. It was a political masterstroke."

4. "The New York Times  warned readers that the 'extent of the racial divide' would become clear only on Election Day when returns quantified residual racism in America."

5. "Fewer still reflected on the fact that New Orleans's black mayor, Ray Negin, was responsible along with the state's governor, Kathleen Blanco - for the local government's inaction. Instead, Hurricane Katrina was used to highlight the ongoing plight of blacks in a bigoted United States.... "George Bush doesn't care about black people." rapper Kanye West.

6. "God damn America, as long as she tries to act like she is God, and she's supreme," said Wright. "The American government has failed the vast majority of her citizens of African descent." Thus guy was Obama's pastor for years.

7. "We need more than another conversation; we need a "teach-in," Robin D.G. Kelley asserted in U.S. News and World Report. "We have a distinct difference in commentary on Rev. Wright from people who have spent time in black churches and those who have not," said PBS host Gwen Ifill.

8. "New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio: Owing to "centuries of racism, the mayor said, he had had teach his biracial son to fear the police force that de Blasio himself led."

9. "On the eve of the racially charged 2012 election cycle, 50 percent of Americans told Gallup pollsters that race relations had "greatly improved" while another 39 percent said racial comity had improved "somewhat." In that same year, 76% said "new civil rights laws" were not longer necessary... In 2011, the majority of Americans believed that racial tensions between blacks and whites would "eventually [be] worked out."

10. "The national conversation on race is at best, disingenuous pageantry. At its worst, however, it throws up an ugly obstacle in America's on going march toward freedom and justice for all its citizens."

THE MINDSET OF PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA # 1

THE MINDSET OF PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA # 1
In pursuit of the truth -  http://www.cinopsbegoneblogspot.com - Saturday, Feb. 7, 2015
ABUNDANT EVIDENCE IS ACCUMULATING THAT THE MINDSET OF PRESIDENT OBAMA IS A THREAT TO OUR NATIONAL SECURITY. IT SHOULD BE A MATTER OF DEEP CONCERN TO THE LEADERSHIP OF THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY, AND THE WHOLE COUNTRY.
IF A REPUBLICAN PRESIDENT HAD OBAMA'S MINDSET, REPUBLICAN LEADERS AND MEMBERS WOULD WOULD HAVE FORCED HIM OUT OF OFFICE YEARS AGO.

1) Ref. Mark Landsbaum, Orange County Register, Sat. Feb. 7, 2013"Require Politicians to explain what they mean."
"The nation is suffering from buyer's remorse and, certainly, a form of schism, thanks to having largely believed the president's malleable campaign promises. But as we learn what he meant by "lead from behind" and "fundamentally transform" America, it becomes clear how little appeal those promises would have had, if we had only known what he really meant."
"We struggle now with continual Obamaspeak, which includes assertions that the wouldn't be overseeing the systematic dismantling of American economic, political and diplomatic power, "if I (Obama) thought it was contrary to American national security." Obviously, the president's meaning of national security differs from that of many Americans, if not REALITY."[The point is that his mind has lost contact with reality. ghk]

2) Ref. Wesley Pruden, The Washington Times, Thursday, Feb. 5, 2015, "Obama's comparison to Crusades to the Islamist terror act misses mark." (Prayer Breakfast in Washington, D.C.)
"Mr. Obama has so far been unable to talk very much about Islamic terrorism, or even to say the words "Islamic" and "terrorism" in the same sentence. Perhaps the prayer breakfast was the time and place he had been waiting for, to say what everyone in the world knows is true, that Islam, distorted or not, has been giving the world a royal pain in that certain  place, and should straighten up and fly right into the 21st century.".... But given the widespread and well-funded suspicion that Obama is soft on those who , as he says, distort Islam to justify jihad, why did he choose a Christian prayer breakfast to equate the faith of most of his constituents to the barbarism of the cult who proper name he cannot bring himself to say?"...
"But the president's invoking the Crusades - the last Crusader left Europe for Jerusalem 700 years ago - sounds like something remembered from a radical mosque. He's preaching tolerance to the wrong congregation.

3) member@washingtontimesemail.com - Friday, Feb. 6, 2015 - Obama denied request from Jordan for Predator drones in Islamic State fight.

4) Joseph Perkins, Orange County Register, Friday, Feb. 6, 2015 Obama has put Bergdahl in the rear-view mirror - There's evidence U.S. traded 5 Taliban leaders for a deserter."
"Indeed, the nonpartisan General Accounting Office concluded in August that Obama broke the law when he freed the Taliban Five in exchange for Bergdahl by not notifying Congress at least 30 days beforehand. And there is yet another reason .... it would remind the American people that the suspected deserter's freedom was purchased at the price of releasing from Gitmo five sworn enemies of the U.S.A.

5) Ref. The Fight of our Lives, Knowing the Enemy, Speaking the Truth & Choosing to Win the War against Radical Islam,  by William J. Bennett and Seth Leibsohn -  2011
"As he (U.S. Army Major Dr. Nidal Hasan) fired, he shouted,  "ALLAHU AKBAR [ALLAH IS GREAT]... (THIRTEEN PEOPLE WERE KILLED, INCLUDING AN UNBORN BABY, AND MORE THAN 30 INJURED IN THE WORST MASS SHOOTING ON A U.S. MILITARY BASE AT FT. HOOD, TEXAS IN 2009.)... Protecting the Force: Lessons from Fort Hood was released in January 2010... In its eighty-six pages, not once does the report actually mention Hasan's name... Lt. Colonel (Ret.) Peters, "It's not about what happened at Fort Hood. It avoids entirely the issue of why it happened." ... The report was a studiously exquisite effort to whitewash what actually happened and what actually caused the problem." What happened at Ft. Hood was called work-place violence. [It was a whitewash and cover-up, ordered by the President Barack Obama.)

THE GODFATHER OF CATHOLIC PRO-ABORTION POLITICIANS IS DEAD! # 2 0F 2

THE GODFATHER OF CATHOLIC PRO-ABORTION POLITICIANS IS DEAD! # 2 OF 2
In pursuit of the truth - http://www.cinopsbegoneblogspot.com - Monday, February 2, 2015
From an article by George J. Marlin in Human Life Review - Fall 2014-
Cardinal O'Connor vs. Governor Cuomo (June 15, 1932 - January 1, 2015)
"O'Connor told Klein that other social issues also concerned him. For instance, during a September 1984 hospital strike, he said something that received very little press coverage, namely that no "Catholic hospital could hire substitutes for striking workers or threaten them in any way.
Nonetheless, he (O'Connor) rejected the so-called seamless-garment approach. "I simply don't see the rationale in saying that a politician is for better housing, a lower rate of unemployment, a more rational foreign policy - and the only thing wrong is that he supports abortion, so it's okay to vote for him. You have to go back to the basic question: What is abortion? Do you think it's the taking of innocent human life or don't you? if you do, then translate it: How can we talk about a rational foreign policy or the horrors of nuclear war if we hold the position that you can take innocent human life?"
In January 1986, in a letter read at all Masses in the archdiocese on the anniversary of the Roe v. Wade decision, O'Connor described that day in 1973 as one of "national infamy." From the pulpit in St. Patrick's Cathedral, he told the faithful, "In 1984, when I talked strongly on the issues, I was accused of doing so because the national election campaign was in progress. I said then, "I"ll be because the national election campaign was in progress, I said then, "I'll be talking about this in 1985 and 1986 and until the day I die." And so he did.
And O'Connor continued to critique the thin-skinned Mario Cuomo. In February 1986, he said, "I flat out think [Cuomo's] wrong. I don't think that makes him evil. It makes him wrong. He makes a serious effort to theologize his way through it and I think he's been unsuccessful." O'Connor was referring to Cuomo's argument, repeated ad nauseam, that as an elected official he should not impose his religious views on the electorate. ... O'Connor specifically criticized Cuomo for supporting Medicaid funding for abortion "without any constitutional requirement to do so."
The public envelope was pushed further in August 1986 when a routine newsletter signed by the vicar general, Bishop Joseph O'Keefe, arrived at 410 parishes, containing this paragraph, which was directed towards pro-abortion politicians and spokesmen:
"Great care and prudence must be exercised in extending invitations to individuals to speak at parish-sponsored events, e.g. Communion breakfasts, graduation, meetings of parish societies, etc. It is not only inappropriate, it is unacceptable and inconsistent with diocesan policy to invite individuals to speak at such events whose public position is contrary to and in opposition to the clear, unambiguous teaching of the Church. This policy applies, as well, to all Archdiocesan owned or sponsored institutions and organizations. ...
Typical Cuomo fashion he raised a lot of questions to confuse the issue "From what I have been told, it applies to Church teaching. But what is Church teaching? When are you teaching infallibility and when aren't you? What people, which people will decide who agrees with Church teaching? Will you have ecclesiastical courts?"
Reacting, Monsignor Peter Finn, Director of Communications for the archdiocese, dismissed Cuomo's comments, saying they were "nonsense." "I hardly think," Finn continued, "our local synagogue would be about to invite a P.L.O. [member] to their seder any more than a church in Harlem would invite Mr. Botha [president of South Africa] to their supper. So I don't understand. What's the problem? ... a guideline was given. Period.... I think its very clear as far as the Church is concerned, what it means by 'differing with the Church's teachings.'"...#
