Margaret Sanger's "Planned Parenthood"

Margaret Sanger’s “Planned Parenthood”
In pursuit of the truth – www.cinopsbegone.com – Easter Sunday, April 12, 2009

“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.” Hosea

Margaret Sanger, the founder of P.P., is in the news this week. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton received “The Margaret Sanger Award” In Houston, Texas. During the event, Clinton said that emphasizing and promoting abortion is the key in President Barack Obama’s foreign policy. She also defended taxpayer funded abortions for poor women.

In Orange County, California Allyson Sonenshine, president of the Planned Parenthood board of directors, handed to the “Board of Supervisors” petition of 2400 names objecting to the cancellation of a contract with P.P. (The story is in Orange County Register, April 9, 2009)

So what is going on here? The public deserves an explanation.

Let’s take 5 of the 10 excerpts from Human Life International, April 17/98, Easter Friday. This is about Planned Parenthood.

1.)They’re the largest single promoter and provider of abortion in the world!

2.)They freely distribute contraceptives to teenage boys and girls – without parental knowledge or consent.

3.)They target minority groups, such as the Black community, where there are 3 times as many abortions as live births.

4.)They claim to be pro- “choice” – but the only choice they really offer is Abortion!

5.)Finally, follow the money trail. Planned Parenthood (PPFA) is one of the most profitable “non-profit” organizations in the world – earning more than $530 million in fiscal year 1997 alone!

Secondly, let us check out a classic well-researched book by Jonah
Goldberg, “Liberal Fascism” – The Secret History of the American Left from Mussolini to the Politics of Meaning. The section on Abortion, p. 270 to 283: (posted on our - cinops be gone – p. 270-274- Aug. 17 & 29th, Sep. 17th, 2008)

Discover for yourself that Margaret Sanger was also a racist.

Margaret Sanger whose “American Birth Control League became Planned
Parenthood was the founder mother of the birth control movement. She is today considered a liberal saint, a founder of modern feminism, and one of the leading lights for the progressive pantheon…. Planned Parenthood gives out annual Maggie Awards to individuals and organizations who advance Sanger’s cause.

Recipients are a Who’s Who of liberal icons, from novelist John Irving to the producers of NBC’s “West Wing.” WHAT SANGER’S LIBERAL ADMIRERS ARE EAGER TO DOWNPLAY IS THAT IS THAT SHE WAS A THOROUGHGOING RACIST WHO SUBSCRIBED COMPLETELY TO THE VIEWS OF E.A. ROSS AND OTHER “RACEOLOGISTS.” INDEED, SHE MADE MANY OF THEM SEEM TAME. p. 270-271

Please support the new policy of the Supervisors that the money be spent on “direct clinic care,” and not the so-called health education of Planned Parenthood. Send e-mail petitions to chris.norby@ocgov.com and janet.nguyen@ocg.net for all 5 Supervisors.

Last Chance to Ask Obama Administration to Retain Conscience Protections Pro-Life Doctors --- By Kalthleen Gilbert

Washington, D.C. April 6, 2009 (LIfeSiteNews.com) – As the period for public comment draws to a close this week, the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, as well as other prominent pro-life leaders, are calling on religious Americans and all men of good will to flood Washington with petitions to retain regulations protecting healthcare workers’ conscience rights.

The public comment period will end 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, April 9; thirty days after President Obama formally announced his intention to rescind the Health and Human Services (HHS) regulations in the Federal Register. A source within the HHS has told CatholicAnew.com, that a handful of comments received after the cutoff may be considered. … (Send your comments to proposedression@hhs.gov )

Princeton University professor Dr. Robert George is calling upon concerned Americans to call the White House, in addition to the HHS, with requests to keep the conscience protections. Call the White House comments line (202-456-1111, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Eastern, (Mon-Fri) and ask to leave the message for the President of the United States.

“In the long run, we have less to fear from foes without than from foes within;
for the former will be formidable only as the latter break our strength.” Theodore Roosevelt “The Foes of Our Own Household,” 1917

FIRSTLY, THE ENEMY IN THIS MATTER IS NOT THE OBAMA ADMINSTRATION. IT IS THE 16 CATHOLIC-LABEL SENATORS WHO REJECTED THE CONSCIENCE CLAUSE. They and their Catholic-label cohorts in Congress need to be thrown out of office in 2010.

Secondly, be forewarned that as a very concerned reasonable pro-life activist, I am sending my comments to the above suspect e-mail and to an administration of ACLU type- readers. We don’t like each other. MOST INFORMED TRADITIONAL AMERICANS
CONSIDER THE ACLU THE MOST DANGEROUS ORGANIZATION IN THE U.S.A.

Instead of lobbyists, the Obama administration has littered and infected the government with ACLU, NARAL and pro-abortion ideologues Gong Ho. The American people did not vote for these characters or the elimination of the Conscience Clause for Doctors and Health Care Workers. And this has to do not only with abortion but also with assisted-suicide, euthanasia, and embryonic stem-cell research. They are 4 absolute evils.

We have a novel attack by vote on the Constitution and the individual rights of American citizens and freedom of religion. It is unconstitutional even if a majority of the population calls in and says take away their conscience and freedom of religious beliefs.

What we have here is the legalization of a national secular religion and that is unconstitutional. Do we need to enact the law first and bring it to the Supreme Court? It is obvious to me that the trampling of individual conscience rights is unconstitutional.

Is this a way to get control of Catholic and other religious hospitals for National Health Care? This is a matter that needs to be adjudicated by the U.S. Supreme Court.

I CALL FOR CIVIL DISOBEDIENCE IF THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION GOES AHEAD WITH THE ELIMINATION OF THE CONSCIENCE CLAUSE FOR DOCTORS AND HEALTH CARE.

The Notre Dame Knights of Columbus 1447

The Notre Dame Knights of Columbus Council 1447

In pursuit of the truth – www.cinopsbegone.com – Monday, April 6, 2009

The Notre Dame Knights of Columbus Council 1447 have officially joined the Notre Dame Response efforts, and have issued a statement expressing their concern with the University’s decision: (via action: www.notredamescandal.com)

We, the Knights of Notre Dame Council 1477, wish to express our sadness and disappointment concerning the invitation to President Barack Obama to be this year’s principal commencement speaker and the recipient of an honorary doctorate of laws from the University of Notre Dame du Lac.

The Knights of Columbus is not a political organization; rather, our disappointment stems from our identity as a markedly Catholic, and thus pro-life, organization residing on a Catholic campus. President Obama has taken a decisive legal action against the fundamental right to life of the most vulnerable members of our society. There, we disagree with the decision to present President Obama with an honorary degree from the University of Notre Dame.

We hold the office of the President in the highest regard; in addition we applaud the work that the President Obama has done to promote social justice and racial equality.

These are important teaching of the Catholic Church and goals of the Knights of Columbus. However, we disagree with the President on this non-negotiable and fundamental point of morality: the respect for the dignity of human life from conception to natural death.

Therefore, as a Catholic organization, we naturally look to our Holy Father and the bishops for guidance when facing controversial moral decisions. Pope Benedict XVI, then-Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith, together with Pope John Paul II the Great, clearly stated the church’s position in the 2002 Doctrinal Note entitled “The Participation of the Catholics In political Life.”

In recent years, there have been cases within some organizations founded on Catholic principles, in which support as been given to political forces or movements with positions contrary to the moral and social teaching of the Church on fundamental ethical questions. Such activities, in contradiction to basic principles of Christian conscience, are not compatible with membership in organizations or associations which define themselves as Catholic.

The conferral of an honorary degree implies support of President Obama’s interpretation and implementation of the law. According to the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops in 2004 statement, “The Catholic community and Catholic institutions should not honor those who act in defiance of our fundamental moral principles. They should not be given awards, honors or platforms which would suggest support for their actions.” Therefore, we encourage the University of Notre Dame to remain faithful to our Holy Father, the bishops, and the University’s mission as a Catholic institution.

Finally, this invitation to President Obama is particularly saddening because it has caused division amongst the graduating seniors as well as the entire Notre Dame family. We must not lose sight of the purpose of commencement as a time of unity and a celebration of the hard work of the graduating class. We should honor the seniors, who have achieved so much, and controversy should not tarnish their commencement day.

Over the next several weeks, we shall, in accord with the Holy Father’s 2002 Doctrinal Note, fulfill the “right and duty of Catholics and all citizens to seek the truth with sincerity and to promote and defend, by legitimate means, moral truths concerning society, justice, freedom, respect for human life and the other rights of the person.” We respectfully voice our opposition to this decision, reaffirm our support of statements from our Holy Father and the bishops, and continually pray for an increased respect for the lives of the unborn. We call upon our Brother Knights and all the faithful around the world to pray for an increased respect for all life and for greater fidelity to the teachings of the Catholic Church. Dutifully, Notre Dame Knights of Columbus Council 1477

16 Catholic Senators Reject Conscience Clause

16 Catholic Senators Reject Conscience Clause
In pursuit of the truth – www.cinopsbegone.com – Monday, April 6, 2009

Thank you, Lisa Correnti for the information that follows; and as Founder and Director of www.onenationundergod.org /cta_coburn_conscience_clause.html – 4/5/2009

Senator Coburn proposed an amendment to the budget bill that would keep the conscience clause in place and give health care workers protection from having to perform professional duties that violate their religious freedom, like abortions. Only 9 Catholic Senators Support –16 Reject.

16 Catholic Senators Reject Conscience Protection After Bishops Call For Support:

Yesterday, pro-life Senator Tom Coburn (R-Ok) offered an amendment to the budget bill that would protect the conscience for health care workers, which is currently under review and may be rescinded by President Obama.
The Coburn amendment stated, “To protect the freedom of conscience for patients and the right of health care providers to serve patients without violating their moral & religious convictions.”

The amendment was rejected 41-56. Sixteen Catholic Senators failed to recognize the importance of this regulation which would guarantee the rights of conscience for all Americans.
Without the protection of the conscience clause many people with religious beliefs will be forced to take part in professional duties that compromise their moral convictions.

Last month, Bishop William F. Murphy, chairman of the Committee on Domestic, Justice and Human Development of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB), responded to the Obama administrations announcement of their intent to remove the HHS protections.
Taking aback the regulations “raises a real issue, because the statutes are intended to protect human rights – rights of conscience and rights of freedom of religion,” Bishop Murphy said. “So why should everyone be concerned about this? Because if one person’s rights can be compromised, everybody’s rights can be compromised.”… “The lay men and women of our churches, of our parishes across the country have to be the voices* of the Catholic Church today….”

Washington Archbishop Donald W. Wuerl also urged Catholics to take action and make their voices heard. Speaking to the John Carroll Society on March 22, CNS reported the Archbishop stating, “If a federal regulation protecting the conscience rights of health care providers is revoked, Catholic doctors, nurses and others may be required to participate in abortion or other procedures that violate their moral or religious principles.”

Apparently some Catholic lawmakers do not see this is a violation of one’s religious freedom. Do they believe one’s right to obtain a chemical or surgical abortion trumps the rights of all others? It is time these Catholic Senators hear from the bishops. The 9 Catholic Senators voting to support the Coburn amendment were: Murkowski (R-Ak),Risch (R-ID), Brownbeck (R-KS), Bunning (R-KY), Vitter(R-LA), Johanns (R-NE), Voinovich(R-OH, and Casey (D-PA).

The sixteen Catholic Senators opposing the Coburn amendment are: Begich (D-AK), Dodd (D-CT), Kaufman (D-CT), Durbin (D-IL), Harkin (D-IA),
Landrieu (D-LA), Collins (R-ME), Mikulski (D-MD), Kerry (D-MA), McCaskill (D-MO),
Menedez (D-NJ), Gillbrand (D-NY), Reed (D-RI), Leahy (D-VT), Cantwell (D-WA),
Murray (D-WA), Senator Kennedy did not vote.

Calling All Catholics: It is our duty as Catholic constituents to hold our elected officials responsible. Please contact these Catholic Senators. Express your disappointment with their failure to protect religious freedom for all Americans. Please also contact their local ordinary. It is the duty of the local ordinary to seek counsel with these lawmakers so they clearly understand the social teaching of the Church. (THE ABOVE IS UNBELIEVABLE, BUT THAT’S THE REALITY.)

George H. Kubeck, Please mail this letter to all U.S.Catholic bishops for personal and public action.

Father Jenkins' Academic Council & USCCB - 2

Father Jenkins’s Academic Council & USCCB – 2
In pursuit of the truth – www.cinopsbegone.com – Sunday, April 5, 2009

This is the second letter in a series of letters on the Notre Dame Scandal. The invitation to President Obama was not ‘a Catholic thing to do’.

THIS INVITATION CROSSED THE LINE AND MUST NOT STAND! The truth and widespread knowledge of the truth is the Church’s most powerful weapon. It is a ‘No’ to Religious correctness. Refer to the book by Pope Benedict XVI, Co-Workers of the Truth, which is the standard we can follow.

When you reread the comments made by the bishops in my first letter you feel ‘a breadth of fresh air’. At last, thinking with the Church with some kind of common Catholic identity. Let this not go away. Let’s focus on this scandal right up to the time the invitation is rescinded or to May 17th.

I believe Father Jenkins and his cohorts acted in a mode of modern Catholic religious correctness which is obsolete and will not stand anymore.

1.)The decision flies in the face of the U.S. Bishops’ 2004 “Catholics in Political Life” statement, which reads, “Catholic institutions should not honor those who act in defiance of our fundamental moral principles. They should not be given awards honors or platforms which would suggest support for their actions. This applies to Catholics and non-Catholics alike. {What the USCCB left out are the other three evils in this dirty little secret: assisted-suicide, euthanasia and same-sex marriage. The time has come for Catholics to be fully informed by you on politicians prior to elections.}

2.)The best analysis was by Bishop Thomas Olmstead of the Phoenix diocese in a letter to the university that the honor is: “A PUBLIC ACT OF DISOBEDIENCE TO THE BISHOPS OF THE UNITED STATES.” {It’s also in your face, Pope Benedict XVI}

3.)Prominent Notre Dame Law Professor Charles Rice wrote that Fr. Jenkins should resign over this scandal, along with other Fellows and Trustees.

4.)It is a slap in the face of many students who are graduating and wondering whether or not in good conscience they should attend their graduation. It is not fair to deliberately cause divisions among students and teachers.

5.)“Notre Dame has chosen prestige over principles, popularity over morality.
Whatever may be President Obama’s admirable qualities, this honor comes on the heels of some of the most anti-life actions of any American president: including expanding federal funding for abortions and inviting taxpayer-funded research on stem cells from human embryos." Judie Brown

6.)Alan Keyes, “Barack Obama is the living incarnation of the glamour or evil.
His smiley tones, and non threatening manner, mask a studied commitment to the promotion of the most deadly evil in the world today- the cult of abortion on the ritual of child sacrifice…. to prove his claim to the mantle of High Priest of the Worldwide Abortion cult.”

7.)All Catholic bishops are obliged to take action in a situation like this. As
the Church document “Ex Ecclesiae” teaches.

Father Jenkins's Academic Council & USCCB - 1

Father Jenkins’s Academic Council & USCCB -1
In pursuit of the truth- www.cinopsbegone.com – Wednesday, April 1, 2009

This is the first in a series of letters on the Notre Dame Scandal. Let’s listen to the words of some bishops, archbishops and Cardinal George who is the ninth bishop to speak out against the scandal. (LifeSiteNews.com March 31st 2009)

1.) Cardinal Francis George, Archbishop of Chicago, has said that the University of Notre Dame’s decision to host and honor President Obama at their commencement ceremony was an “EXTREME EMBARRASSMENT” to Catholics.

“Whatever else it is, it is clear that Notre Dame didn’t understand what it means to be Catholic when they issued this invitation.”…

Cardinal George prefaced his remarks by noting that although he is president of the USCCB, he does not have jurisdiction or authority over other bishops. His role, he indicated, nonetheless has “some moral authority, without any kind of jurisdiction or any sort of real authority.”…

George said he had spoken with the administrative committee of the bishops’ conference and corresponded with the University president Fr. John Jenkins several times on the issue.

“That conversation will continue …. Whether or not it will have some kind of consequence that will bring, I think, the University of Notre Dame to its {the USCCB’s} understanding of what it means to be Catholic,” said the Cardinal. “That is, when you’re Catholic, everything you do changes the life of everybody else who calls himself a personal Catholic – it’s a network of relationships. “So quite apart from the president’s own positions, which are well known, THE PROBLEM IS IN THAT YOU HAVE A CATHOLIC UNIVERSITY – THE FLAGSHIP CATHOLIC UNIVERSITY – DO SOMETHING THAT BROUGHT EXTREME EMBARRASSMENT TO MANY PEOPLE WHO ARE CATHOLIC.”

“So whatever else is clear, it is clear that Notre Dame didn’t understand what it means to be Catholic when they issued this invitation, and didn’t anticipate the kind of uproar that would be consequent to the decision, at least not to be extent that it has happened,” said George.

THE CARDINAL URGED CONCERNED CATHOLICS “TO DO WHAT YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO DOING, TO CALL, TO EMAIL, TO WRITE LETTERS, TO EXPRESS WHAT’S IN YOUR HEART ABOUT THE EMBARRASSMENT, THE DIFFICULTIES.”

2.) Today the Cardinal Newman Society (CNS) published a letter to the school by Saint Paul and Minneapolis, Minnesota Archbishop John C. Nienstedt, who protested the “egregious decision” on the part of Notre Dame president Fr. John Jenkins to honor Obama. (LifeSiteNews.com, Tues. March 31, 2009)

Listing Obama’s record against life, Nienstedt wrote, “It is a travesty that the University of Notre Dame, considered by many to be a Catholic University, should give its public support to such an anti-Catholic politician. “I HOPE THAT YOU ARE ABLE TO RECONSIDER THIS DECISION. IF NOT, PLEASE DO NOT EXPECT ME TO SUPPORT YOUR UNIVERSITY IN THE FUTURE.” HE CONCLUDED.

3.) Notre Dame’s own bishop John D’Arcy criticized the move and announced his intention to boycott the ceremony last week.

4.) At the second annual Illinois Catholic Prayer in Chicago on Friday in Chicago on Friday, Bishop Morlino of Madison said he would not have invited Obama, according the Catholic Citizens of Illinois…

George H. Kubeck,
P.S. Will this clarity in Catholic thinking finally focus in on the CINOPS evil agenda?

Code Pink

Code Pink
In pursuit of the truth – www.cinopsbegone.com – Saturday, April 4, 2009

Medea Benjamin is the founder of Code Pink, an anti-war activist group. She claims contact with 200,000 adherents. Bill O’Reilly interviewed her the other day. Last year on television, I saw her group protesting in front of a Marine Recruitment Center in Oakland. Who is responsible for Code Pink’s mindset?
As we study the mind and heart of these protesters, let me share with you three excerpts from a book* by David Horowitz and Ben Johnson.

1.) General Ion Mihai Pacepa was the highest-ranking intelligence official ever to defect from the Soviet bloc during the Cold War. In a commentary about the attacks on President Bush during the war in Iraq, Pacepa recalled: “Sowing the seeds of anti-Americanism by discrediting the American president was one of the main tasks of the Soviet-bloc intelligence community during the years I worked at its top level.” …
During the Vietnam War, General Pacepa wrote, Soviet intelligence “spread vitriolic stories around the world, pretending that America’s presidents sent Genghis Khan-style barbarian soldiers to Vietnam who raped at random, taped electrical wires to human genitals, cut off limbs, blew-up bodies and razed entire villages. Those weren’t facts. They were our tails, but … as Yuri Andropov, who conceived this dezinformatsiya war against the U.S., used to tell me, people are more willing to believe smut than holiness.”

Nor did this campaign to discredit the United States stop with Vietnam: As Pacepa explains: “The final goal of our anti-American offensive was to discourage the United States from protecting the world against communist terrorism and expansion. Sadly, we succeeded. After U.S. forces massacred some two million people in Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia. Another million tried to escape, but many died in the attempt. This tragedy also created a credibility gap between America and the rest of the world, damaged the cohesion of American foreign policy, and poisoned domestic debate in the United States.”

2.) While John F. Kennedy had summoned a previous generation of Democrats to “ask not what your country can do for you – {but} what you can do for your country,” the McGovern Democrats asked, “Why is our country hated?” as though their might be a reasonable answer. Unlike President Bush, who believes that America is hated because of its freedoms, the Left believes America is hated because it fits the profile the enemy has framed for it, an imperial oppressor of the weak and poor.
McGovern’s call for America to come home was not a plan to conserve America’s strength and restore America’s integrity. It was a plan to quarantine the American virus and save others from the infection….

3.) Ambassador Jeane Kirkpatrick, a Democrat who had left her party, would later call the new party leadership the “blame America first’ crowd.” Minimizing the threat of Communism, they viewed Marxist aggressions as understandable reactions to “root causes,” such as American “militarism” and “imperialism,” and the global market system. Instead of asking, “How does the totalitarian enemy threaten us and what can we do about it?” the Blame America-Firsters were asking, “Why do they hate us?” and “How can we appease them and atone for our guilt?” These questions rapidly became the twin concerns of a new, “progressive” foreign policy consensus, and the New York convention nominated Carter as its presidential candidate.

Anyone who has followed the anti-American war movement for decades will include the above excerpts in their analysis. Will history repeat itself under Obama? In some ways, Marx has had more influence on today’s America than our Founding Fathers.
