2) TOM PEREZ, CHAIRMAN OF THE DEMOCRATIC NATIONAL COMMITTEE HAS PROMISED IN A STATEMENT LAST FRIDAY TO BACK ONLY DEMOCRATIC CANDIDATES WHO HOLD A PRO-ABORTION POSITION. PEREZ SAID THE POSITION WAS NON-NEGOTIABLE. CARDINAL DOLAN ISSUED THE FOLLOWING STATEMENT.

   

 " THE RECENT PLEDGE BY THE DEMOCRATIC NATIONAL COMMITTEE CHAIR TO SUPPORT ONLY CANDIDATES WHO EMBRACE THE RADICAL UNRESTRICTED ABORTION LICENSE IS VERY DISTURBING.     Neil Gorsuch, the Trump administration's nominee for the U.S. Supreme Court, is proponent of natural law... First is what is natural law?

 

    Natural law affirms that we do what we ought to do according to nature, to our very nature. "What we ought to do is based on what we are," writes Boston College theologian Peter Kreeft. The natural law, notes Kreeft, is naturally known, by natural human reason and experience. You need not be a religious believer to know the natural law, even if that law (many of us believe) was written in the nature by a Creator.

 

    Really, it's easier to give examples of natural law than a definition. Human sexuality demonstrates natural law so well because its so self-evident. For instance, a man and a woman have obviously and observably different but complementary sexual parts that are capable of biological union. A male sperm fertilizes a female egg. That leads to life. That's how the laws of nature, or nature's God has ordained it....

 

    The Catechism of the Catholic Church (1954-1960) states that natural law is "immutable and permanent throughout the variations of history." It is a "universal rule that binds men," that is "engraved in the soul of each and every man," and that is "present in the heart of each man." ...

 

    Moreover, Cicero asserted, "It is a sin to try to alter this law ... and it is impossible to abolish it entirely." He added that "whoever is disobedient" to the natural law " is fleeing from himself and denying his human nature." ... Nonetheless, many in today's culture aggressively seek to do just that, because they like the dictates of the natural law. If you are endeavoring to fundamentally transform human nature, especially on issues like marriage, family, sexuality and gender, then the natural law is your chief foe.

 

    For many liberals, this is why natural law is anathema.... "some philosophers "  have "employed natural law to argue against abortion and same-sex marriage, the field has became controversial, among liberals.

 

    CONTROVERSIAL? WELL, OKAY. BUT IT IS WHAT IT IS. ABORTION AND SAME-SEX "MARRIAGE"GO AGAINST THE TEACHINGS OF NATURAL LAW. THEY ALSO GO AGAINST THE TEACHINGS OF SCRIPTURE, THE CATECHISM, AND THE ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH, WHICH UPHOLDS NATURAL LAW. ...

 

    Thus if this progressive professor makes that assertion "natural law does not exist" then the progressive professor must also reject the natural law based conclusions of tribunals such as Nuremberg after World War II when the judges told NAZI officials that regardless what Hitler's law proclaimed, they should have known that what they were doing was wrong....

 

    Or consider slavery and various civil-rights laws. One current libertarian writer states that "the greatest spokesman for natural law in the 20th century was probably Martin Luther King, who denounced segregation not because of its technical complexities, but because it betrayed the natural law principles of the Declaration of Independence." ...

 

    Nature tells you what to do, you don't tell nature what to do. Your biology tells your sex: you don't get to determine your sex. But tell that to modern disciples of the dictatorship of relativism, where everything is deemed re-definable, from one's gender to whether a human life is even consider human life....

SADLY, POLITICAL CORRECTNESS AND NOT THE PURSUIT OF THE TRUTH WAS OBAMA'S AGENDA FOR EIGHT YEARS. THE PURSUIT OF THE TRUTH IS NOT POPULAR, NEITHER IS COMMON SENSE SOLUTIONS TO SOLVING OUR NATION'S PROBLEMS. ON THE EAST AND WEST COAST, WE HAVE A NATION BRAINWASHED WITH POLITICAL CORRECTNESS.

    To quote the NAS report, "Instead of teaching college students the foundations of law, liberty, and self-government, colleges teach students how to organize protests, occupy buildings, and stage demonstrations."

 

    In sum, the Academic Left has redefined civics as progressive political activism. Former President Obama's time spent as a "community organizer" is a model for the Left's understanding of civics. Instead of learning about the principles and institutions that form the foundation of our country, the Left's New Civics stresses diversity, environmentalism, LGBT advocacy, the oxymoronic idea of "global citizenship", and other trendy liberal causes....

 

    The Left's experiment in New Civics is a massive experiment that is changing the way the American people understand citizenship. According the NAS, "civic engagement diverts at least $40 billion a year and 1.5 million hours of student labor towards progressive organizations." ...

The recent demonstrations at the presidential inauguration in Washington, DC, were a perfect example of the Left's New Civics in action.

    Many of the protestors were rowdy college students intent on causing lawless disruptions and clashing with the police. As they marched down the streets, they unironically chanted. "This is what democracy looks like." According to the Left's  New Civics catechism, the essence of democracy is protests. not voting. Not petitioning leaders. Not debating the issues - that's the old, outmoded, traditional idea of civic engagement. ... The truth is that many of the students protesting the results of the November election didn't even bother to vote in it.

 

    The Left's New Civics is taught first to college students and then filters down to the rest of the culture through teachers of primary school, the makers of culture, and even political leaders themselves. The Left unchecked it will overtake our entire culture.

For this reason the left is targeting the Catholic Church as an institution and traditional Catholic doctrine. Unfortunately this attack is being aided by liberal Catholic laymen and by Pope Francis himself.

    Pope Francis recent appointment of 17 new cardinals is just the tip of the iceberg. The new U.S. cardinals were selected because of their records as social justice warriors. At the same time, American Catholic seminaries are under orders to instruct new priests about "environment justice" and climate change so that this message will reach parishioners.

    Ironically, while the Vatican is encouraging instruction seminarians in environmental justice, Rome has entered into negotiations with China, the worlds's largest polluter, for a rapprochement between Church and state. There is serious concern is that this rapprochement would give the Chinese government final say on approving church bishops.

Wikileaks Revelations:

    The WikiLeaks October release of hacked email correspondence of (Catholic ?) John Podesta, Hillary Clinton's 2016 campaign manager, revealed the American left's deep anti-Catholic bias and its goal of leftist takeover of the Church. Podesta's  emails to Clinton' communication director (Catholic ?) Jennifer Palmieri, Barack Obama's friend Sandy Newman, who heads  Voices for Progress, and John Halpin, senior fellow at the Center for American Progress, should be a wake-up call to the faithful that the left's war on Christianity is more than just rhetoric.

    Podesta's emails deride "backward Catholics" who follow traditional Catholic teachings on gender relations and marriage. The first exchange between Podesta and Palmieri describes wealthy converts to the Catholic faith as being attracted to a medieval church out of step with contemporary culture. Podesta speculates that these Catholic converts "must be attracted to the systematic thought" that embodies "severely backwards gender relations." Palmieri replied that these Catholic converts want to form a religion that is acceptable to their rich friends by becoming Catholics rather than evangelical Protestants. For Palmieri, being Catholic is a matter of class, not of faith in timeless doctrine....

`John Halpin warned Podesta that "Many of the most powerful elements of the conservative movement are all Catholic (many converts) and are found on the Supreme Court, think-tanks, media and social groups."

    Typical of the progressive mindset, Podesta, Palmieri and Halpin see religious faith as a retrograde, uninformed and deplorable... Never does it cross their minds that some people convert to Roman Catholicism, or evangelical Protestantism or, for that matter any religion  because they are sincere believers.... but the next round of mail exchanges in the Clinton camp reveal a more insidious strategy to subvert the Catholic Church... Sandy Newman wrote to Podesta that Catholic bishops were continuing to fight birth control mandate imposed by ObamaCAre...

    Podesta tried to allay Newman's concerns by informing him that something was being done about the Catholic problem. "We created." he wrote, "Catholics in Alliance for the Common Good to organize for a moment like this." Podesta had played a major role in setting up this organization in 2005 to influence the Catholic  vote for Obama in 2008...

Plotting to subvert the Church:

   Celebrity author of the multi-volume The Story of Civilization, Will Durante, a socialist anarchist, joined a Catholic seminary to infiltrate the church in an attempt to change it from within. Birth control fanatic Margaret Sanger spoke at anti-Catholic Ku Klux Klan rallies to de legitimize the church in America. In the 1960's, John D. Rockefeller 3rd, in his efforts to change Catholic attitudes towards abortion and sexuality, funded abortion conferences at the University of Notre Dame, seeded money for abortion supporter Daniel Callahan and his Institute for Society .... and gave grants to abortion groups Catholics for a Free Choice and Catholic Alternatives...."

    " A preliminary Pew Research Center... For starters, it shows that the overall "Catholic" vote went 52% for Trump and 45% for Clinton. While this is a slight improvement over past elections, when Catholics voted 54% for Obama in 2008 and 50% in 2012, it is still sad to see such numbers of Catholics voting for the candidate whose stated policy is to protect and promote legalized abortion on demand for any reason or no reason.

    "How can so many Catholics still be disposed to closing their eyes to the most crucial issue that defines our culture and our nation? Further, what is most disturbing and eye-opening is to see Hispanic Catholics voting 67% for Clinton and 26% for Trump.

    "If the most crucial  issue and central criteria for casting a vote for a candidate was his or her stated position on abortion, how is this reconciled by the Church and its bishops?
