A Sequel with an Update and another Personal Perspective
DEAR WALTER WOOD,
MEMBER OF ST. POLYCARP CATHOLIC CHURCH, STANTON, CA. FOR MANY YEARS,
I GAVE YOU A COPY OF ROWNTREE GARDENS AS THE BEST PLACE TO LIVE IN RETIREMENT. YOU WERE IMPRESSED WITH WHAT I WROTE. BY THE WAY, WE HAVE KNOWN EACH OTHER FOR YEARS.YOU TURNED 96 THE OTHER DAY, AND YOU DAILY TAKE A WALK FOR ONE HOUR.
I SAW YOU AT ROWNTREE GARDENS QUITE FREQUENTLY IN 2018 AND EARLY 2019. YOU WERE VISITING, ALMOST DAILY, A FAMILY FRIEND, PAULINE. YOU LIKED THIS PLACE AND TOLD ME YOU WERE INTERESTED IN LIVING HERE. YOU ENJOYED IN PARTICULAR THE THE PIANO AND SINGER JENNIFER HART ON THE MONTHLY TUESDAY PERFORMANCE AT 6:30 P.M.
THE BAD NEWS TODAY IS THAT THE ROWNTREE "THE SPECIAL" I TOLD YOU ABOUT WAS CANCELED A COUPLE OF WEEKS AGO. QUITE A NUMBER OF PERSONS SIGNED UP FOR THEIR SPECIAL. "FRIENDS REFERRING FRIENDS" $1,000 RENT CREDIT FOR EACH OF US." NOW THIS SPECIAL MAY REOCCUR IN THE FUTURE.
WITH OR WITHOUT THIS SPECIAL, THIS IS A GREAT PLACE TO LIVE. WITH THE SPECIAL, IT IS IN MY MIND TO DONATE BETWEEN $300 TO $500. OF MY SHARE TO YOUR CHURCH. YOU ARE THE TYPE OF PERSON MALE OR FEMALE BY DRIVING OR WALKING TO CHURCH ALMOST DAILY WEEKDAYS (6:30 OR 8:30 A.M.) FITS INTO MY PERSONAL GOAL OF HOPING FOR FULL OCCUPANCY AT ROWNTREE GARDENS. THIS ALSO APPLIES, SIMILARLY TO MEMBERS OF OTHER CHURCHES.
WALT, YOU DECIDE WHEN TO MOVE HERE. GOD WILLING, I PLAN TO LIVE HERE UNTIL HE CALLS ME.
RESPECTFULLY YOURS,
GEORGE H. KUBECK, FRIDAY, OCT. 31, 2019

P.S.
1. IT TOOK REV. TUAN JOHN NGUYEN ONLY 8 MINUTES OR ABOUT 1,000 PACES TO WALK FROM ST. POLYCARP CHURCH TO THE ENTRANCE AT ROWNTREE GARDENS.
2. ROWNTREE GARDENS HAS THE BEST LIBRARY OF ANY SIMILAR FACILITY IN ORANGE COUNTY.
3. ROWNTREE BUS WILL TAKE US TO MASS ON "ALL SAINTS DAY," FRIDAY, NOV. 1ST.
4. IN CONSIDERATION OF ANY SMOKER, THERE IS A SMOKING AREA FOR ANYONE AT ROWNTREE.
HERE ARE FEW THINGS I PERSONALLY REMEMBER AT ST. POLYCARP
A) MANY YEARS AGO JUST PRIOR TO ORANGE COUNTY ELECTIONS, I PARTICIPATED IN PASSING OUT PRO-LIFE LITERATURE TO THE CARS LEAVING MASSES ON SUNDAYS.
B) YEARS AGO, AFTER ATTENDING MASS DURING THE WEEK DAYS, I WENT WITH THE GUYS A COUPLE OF TIMES FOR COFFEE AT "JACK IN THE BOX." IT CLOSED DOWN. NOW YOU ARE GOING TO "CARL'S JR," AT THE CORNER OF BEACH BLVD. AND CHAPMAN AVE.
C) LASTLY, I ATTENDED THE 60TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE FOUNDING OF ST. POLYCARP ELEMENTARY SCHOOL ON FRIDAY, OCTOBER 18TH. YOU WERE THERE. BISHOP SOTO GRADUATED IN 1970. I WENT BECAUSE IF THE NEW CONGRESS PASSES "THE EQUALITY ACT HR 5," IN 2021, THE CATHOLIC ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS AND HIGH SCHOOL WON'T BE ALLOWED TO EXIST UNLESS THEIR CATHOLIC BELIEFS CHANGES.
