CATHOLIC SOCIAL JUSTICE BY ST. JOHN PAUL 11

CATHOLIC SOCIAL JUSTICE BY ST. JOHN PAUL II
IN PURSUIT OF THE TRUTH - HTTP://WWW.CINOPSBEGONEBLOGSPOT.COM - TUES. SEP. 25/18

Ref.: From the classic book, "Co-Workers of the Truth" Meditation for Every Day of the Year,  by Joseph Cardinal Ratzinger, Ignatius Press, San Francisco 1992 - Meditation - Sept. 21

" In the course of his (St. John Paul II) sermon in Mainz, Germany on Nov. 16, 1980, the Holy Father spoke of the new dimensions of Christian doctrine and of our social obligations; the problematic relationship between man and machine; the rationalization of technical procedure versus the problem of supply-and-demand in the employment area;
the integration of migrant workers while maintaining full respect for their cultural and historical identity; the question of the limits of production, to which is linked the important topic of the generations: the generation that is presently able to work must support the older generation that preceded it and the younger generation that is not yet able to earn a living, but it must also preserve the earth for future generations and give them the ability to transmit to their descendants what they have inherited.

A "solidarity" community is not a community for today alone; it includes yesterday and tomorrow as well. We work today for tomorrow, but we must not squander today the inheritance of tomorrow. We are reminded here of another aspect of the social question.
Justice is no longer to be circumscribed by the boundaries of one country. North and south, rich nations and poor, form one world in which the fate of one group is not to be separated from that of another. That is why the Pope emphasized in  Mainz that "the social question has today a world-wide dimension."

In our struggle for justice, we must not forget the rights of people of other countries so that they, too,
may learn to render "to each his own". Only when we keep in mind the justice of the whole world can we rightfully discern what justice means for us here and now.
Only when we find, in the self-determination of the Christian Faith and its moral force, the initiative for a Christian justice for the whole world, can there be an end to the destructive message of violence, which is overweening wherever egoism is stronger than right. As Christians, we must not sleep again in a time of  crisis, as happened to some extent in the nineteenth century. (1983)
George H. Kubeck - (Now let's check out this false Catholic-Social-Justice teaching in America.)

P.S  Read letter on blog: "What the Popes have to say about Socialism." Monday, July 23, 2018

P.P.S. National Catholic Report, Sep. 21- Oct. 4, 2018 --Excerpts: Headline:

Progressive Catholic women join 'pink wave' - Catholic social teaching inspires some to run in 2018:
"Take Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the twenty-old New Yorker who in June beat 10 time incumbent U.S. Rep. Joe Crowley by emphasizing justice, human rights and dignity. Headlines were quick to identify those values as socialist, but they are also Catholic. ... Ocasio-Cortez outed herself as a Catholic ... argued for criminal justice reform based on Catholic teaching about forgiveness. She also cited Jesus' instruction in Matthew 25 to care "for the least among us" "as "guiding principle." ...

{Where does Ocasio-Cortez stand on abortion, gay marriage, religious liberty, assisted-suicide, etc.? Is she aware that the Democratic Party just loves and promote Catholic-in-name- politicians?  We have Governors Brown and Cuomo. We have Nancy Pelosi and in the Senate - Durbin, Leahy and ten others.
Today, in California, we have CINOP Newson running for governor of California on Nov. 6th.

MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN! TWO PERSPECTIVES:

MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN! TWO PERSPECTIVES
IN PURSUIT OF THE TRUTH- HTTP://WWW.CINOPSBEGONEBLOGSPOT.COM -SUN. SEP. 23/18
TODAY  IS THE FEAST OF ST. PIO OF PIETRELCINA - INTERCEDE FOR US

PREFACE: PERSPECTIVE # TWO:
During the Cold War with Russia, we had many in the U.S.A. who cooperated with Communist front organizations. We called them Useful Idiots for the Commie Agenda.

Today in The Wall Street Journal, Editorial page, relating to the Brett Kavanaugh hearings: ("The new liberal standard turns due process up side down.") "As Ms. Hill and Sen. Hirono aver, the Democratic standard for sexual assault allegations is that they should be accepted as true merely for having been made. The accuser is assumed to be telling the truth because the accuser is a woman."

It looks like the useful idiots of  Hollywood, University professors, and the  mainstream media have taken over the once great Democratic party. The (S.C.A.) Secular Culture Agenda in America hates President Trump. But remember, they hated even more Traditional Religious America, particularly Christians and even Western Civilization over all, BEFORE TRUMP ARRIVED.

The S.CA. is not interested in pursuing the truth. Political correctness is part of their religion. The truth is what they make it for their leftist/socialist/communist agenda. It's a secular-no god- political-religion. Politics for the rest of America is definitely secondary. Could this be Putin's revenge on us?

And now from the most knowledgeable writer on the Internet. Excerpts from Victor Davis Hanson's article, "ARE WE ON THE VERGE OF CIVIL WAR? Sep. 21, 2018

"Americans keep dividing into two hostile camps. It seems the country is back to 1860 on the eve of the Civil War, rather than in 2018, during the greatest age of affluence, leisure, and freedom in the history of civilization....
Americans increasingly are either proud of past U.S. traditions, ongoing reform, and current exceptionalism, or they insist that the country was hopelessly flawed at its birth and must radically reinvented to rectify its original sins.
No sphere of life is immune to the subsequent politicization: not movies, television, professional sports, late-night comedy, or colleges. Even hurricanes are typically leveraged to advance political agendas. What is causing America to turn differences into these bitter hatreds - and why now?
The internet and social media often descend into an electronic lynch mob.... Anonymity is a force multiplier of these tensions. Fake online identities provide cover for ever greater extremism ...
Speed is also the enemy of common sense and restraint... Million of bloggers rush to be the first to post ... fake news moment of unsubstantiated gossip and fiction... Lifestyles in San Francisco and Toledo are so different that it's almost as if they're on two different planets...
    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
PERSPECTIVE # ONE:        WHAT DOES THAT MEAN? MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!

"THINKING AND ACTING: PEOPLE WHO DO NOT THINK,  ACT. - PEOPLE WHO DO NOT ACT, THINK."
Now for OTHER quotes from today's homily in Church: Study these three readings: 1.) Book of Wisdom 2:12, 17-202.) A Reading from the Letter of St. James 3:16 - 4:3 3.) A Reading from the holy Gospel according to Mark, 9:30-27

"GOD IS SERVANT BY ACTION. THE THREE PERSONS IN ONE GOD LOVE ONE ANOTHER. HE, JESUS DID THE WILL OF THE FATHER. GOD IS SERVANT AND LOVES. THE LOVE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT IS BETWEEN THE GOD THE FATHER AND HOLY SON. GOD IS INFINITE LOVE.

THE WAY WE HUMANS DO THIS IS BY LOVING AND SERVING OTHERS. THIS IS WHAT THE GREAT QUESTION IS ALL ABOUT?  REFER TO ST. JAMES READING. THE RESURRECTION IS A CONFIRMATION OF BEING A SERVANT OF ALL. THE SERVANT IS WHO WE ARE. (OR OUGHT TO BE.)"
George H. Kubeck - Americans can unite and bind up our wounds. Your vote on Nov. 6th will decide and help.

BISHOP BARRON: FIGHT FOR THE CHURCH! # 2 OF 2

BISHOP BARRON: FIGHT FOR THE CHURCH!  # 2 OF 2
IN PURSUIT OF THE TRUTH - HTTP://WWW.CINOPSBEGONEBLOGSPOT.COM - FRI. SEP. 21/18
REF. CATHOLIC - ESP. 9, 2018 - This month's column is transcribed from a video chat with Bishop Barron, available at You tube bonfire.com. Why Remain Catholic (With So Much Scandal)

"You know, keep in mind everybody, we are not Catholic because of the moral excellence of our leadersI mean, God help us if we were. We want our leaders - indeed, we expect our leaders - to be morally excellent. But we are not Catholic because of that moral excellence.

We're Catholics because of Jesus Christ crucified and risen from the dead. We're Catholics because of the Trinitarian love of God. We're Catholic because of the Mystical Body of Christ. We're Catholic because of the Sacraments. We're Catholic especially because of the Eucharist. We're Catholic because of the Blessed Mother. We're Catholic because of the Saints.

Even as leaders in the Church fail morally, the Catholic Church remains the Mystical Body of Christ, the Bride of Christ. And she's worth fighting for.

Keep this in mind too everybody: every baptized person is priest, prophet and kingly office. Can I talk now about the prophetic office?

When Israel got off the rails- read the Old Testament. it happened on a regular basis: this community was meant to reflect the will of God into the world, Israel the chosen people of God, but frequently it leaders failed into sin, frequently it fell away from the Torah and the temple ...

You're a prophet. Everyone of you listening to me right now who is baptized into Jesus Christ is a prophet. Raise your voice! Prophets didn't cut and run when Israel was in trouble; the prophets spoke out. THAT'S ALL OF OUR RESPONSIBILITY. all of us who bear the prophetic chrism.

You know, perhaps a last thought here. I said a couple of days ago, I'll say it again. Whom are we fighting for?  Were not fighting primarily to save our institutions. See, I'm with my old mentor Cardinal George of happy memory. In his last talk he ever gave to to all the priests of Chicago, he said, "Remember, at the beginning of the Church, there were no parishes. There were no schools, hospitals, institutions. There were evangelists," he reminded us. There were proclaimers of the word."  But the point was the Church does not depend ultimately on institutions. We are fighting primarily for that aspect of the Church's life.

+++  We are fighting for the victims o these terrible crimes. We're fighting for the people that were sexually  assaulted, sexual abused. If we cut and run precisely at this challenging time, who will be the prophetic voice on behalf of the victims. +++

So that's my little cir DE coerce, everybody - my cry from the heart. I get it. I get the frustration people feel. I share it. But that is not the moment to abandon the Church. This is the moment to fight for the Church.  May God bless you all.

George H. Kubeck

"And they raised their voices - sometimes, yes, in very angry protest - about these corruptions within Israel." (Within the U.S.A. Catholic Church, the Vatican and other countries)

BISHOP BARRON: FIGHT FOR THE CHURCH # 1 OF 2

BISHOP BARRON: FIGHT FOR THE CHURCH # 1 of 2
IN PURSUIT OF THE TRUTH - HTTP://WWW.CINOPSBEGONEBLOGSPOT.COM - WED. SEP. 19/18
OCCATHOLIC - SEPTEMBER 9, 2018 - This month's column is transcribed from a video chat with Bishop Barron, available at You tube wordonfire.com . Why Remain Catholic (With So Much Scandal)
This terrible crisis we're passing through in the Church, this crisis of sexual abuse and countenancing of it by some bishops.... the number of people who seem to be calling for the abandonment of the Church: "Because of this crisis, it's time for us to leave the Church.... Leaving the Church is not what we ought to be doing. What we ought to be doing is fighting.

Let me explain that with a little historical reference. One of my great heroes is Abraham Lincoln. And Lincoln of course operated politically at one of the most convulsive times in our national history, when slavery was threatening the very foundations of American democracy. Lincoln knew from the beginning  of his career that the nation, as he puts it, couldn't survive have slavery and half-free . But he saw more profoundly to that slavery as an institution was repugnant to the very principles of American democracy.

Now, we can hear that in the Gettysburg Address... "Four score and seven years ago our fathers brought forth on his continent a new nation, conceived in Liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal." Notice he articulating the principles that define American democracy: freedom and equality.... Now, I suppose at the time (to prevent a civil war) and option would have been simply to give up on the American experiment. "I'm leaving the country. I've had it. This thing is a disaster. I'm giving up. But Lincoln wouldn't take that option.... fighting for the ideals of American democracy.

Now, now can I suggest everybody, I think something similar is at stake right now. "The Catholic Church, the great principles and ideals, the Catholic Church, grounded in Jesus Christ, love of God made manifest in him in his dying and rising; the Catholic Church, in all its power, beauty and perfection, in indeed threatened by this terrible scourge of sexual abuse. It is indeed a blight on the Church. It is appropriate that people feel anger, frustration. ...

Rather, what called for is the Lincoln option: fighting for the Church that we believe in so powerfully; seeing this blight, naming it clearly, unambiguously, but then fighting to set things right. It is not a moment for cutting and running.

And you say, "Well okay, Bishop, I get it. But how do I fight? Look: You fight through your own righteous anger. {That is the way this blog is going to fight.} You fight by writing a letter to your bishop, a letter to the Pope. You fight by your presence at Mass. You fight by keeping people's feet to the fire. You fight by organizing fellow Catholics. Fight anyway you can. But fight because you believe in the Church; you love the Church; and you realize that despite this terrible. it is worth fighting for.

You know, keep in mind everybody we are not Catholic because of the moral excellence of our leaders. I mean God help us if we were .... We are Catholic because of Jesus Christ, crucified and risen from the dead. We're Catholic because of the Trinitarian love of God. We're Catholic because of the mystical body of Christ. We're Catholic because of the sacraments. We are Catholic especially because of the Eucharist. Were Catholic because of the Blessed Mother. We Catholic because of the saints.

Even as leaders of the Church fail morally, the Catholic Church remains the Mystical Body of Christ, the Bride of Christ. And she's worth fighting for....

THE VATICAN'S CHINA SYNDROME

THE VATICAN'S CHINA SYNDROME
EDITORIAL FROM  "THE WALL STREET JOURNAL" SAT.-SUN. SEP. 15-16, 2018
IMAGINE IF DONALD TRUMP INSISTED THAT THE CATHOLIC CHURCH GIVE HIM THE RIGHT TO CHOOSE THE LIST OF MEN FROM WHICH ROME WOULD SELECT AMERICAN BISHOPS. RIDICULOUS.
SO WHY DOES IT MAKE MORE SENSE FOR THE VATICAN TO CONCEDE THAT RIGHT TO COMMUNIST LEADERS IN CHINA?
THAT'S THE KEY CATHOLIC CONCESSION IN A FAR-REACHING DEAL BETWEEN ROME AND VATICAN ANNOUNCED FRIDAY. THE VATICAN AGREED TO RECOGNIZE AS LEGITIMATE SEVEN CHINESE PRIESTS WHO HAVE BEEN EXCOMMUNICATED BY ROME FOR ACCEPTING THEIR BISHOP HATS WITHOUT VATICAN APPROVAL. TWO BISHOPS WHO HAD REMAINED FAITHFUL WILL RETIRE TO MAKE ROOM FOR BISHOPS MORE TO CHINESE PRESIDENT Xi JINPING'S LIKING. IN EXCHANGE BEJING WILL OFFICIALLY RECOGNIZE THE POPE AS HEAD OF THE CATHOLIC CHURCH IN CHINA, SOMETHING IT HAS RESISTED FOR DECADES.
GIVE CHINA CREDIT FOR SHREWDNESS. IT UNDERSTANDS THAT BISHOPS ARE AT THE HEART OF THE CATHOLIC HIERARCHY AS HEIR TO THE EARLY APOSTLES. OVER ITS HISTORY THE CHURCH HAS SOMETIMES BEEN COERCED INTO DEALS GIVING GOVERNMENTS A VETO OVER THE APPOINTMENT OF A PARTICULAR BISHOP, BUT LETTING A HOSTILE REGIME COME UP WITH THE ENTIRE CANDIDATE POOL PUTS ROME IN THE JUNIOR ROLE. IF ROME VETOES ONE OF CHINA'S CHOICES, THE SEAT GOES EMPTY. WHY WOULD CHINA CARE?
THIS DEAL HAS BEEN LONG IN THE MAKING AND COMES AS MR. Xi IS IN THE MIDST OF A CRACKDOWN ON CHRISTIANITY AND OTHER ORGANIZED RELIGIONS AND IS CLOSING OR TEARING DOWN CHURCHES AND MOSQUES. PERHAPS THE VATICAN CALCULATED THAT WITH OPPRESSION GETTING WORSE, EVEN A BAD AGREEMENT MIGHT CARVE OUT SOME BREATHING ROOM FOR ITS FAITH ON THE CHINESE MAINLAND.
THE DEAL AT LEAST DOESN'T INCLUDE THE RESTORATION OF DIPLOMATIC RELATIONS, AND DOES IT DOESN'T REQUIRE THE VATICAN TO BREAK ITS TIES TO TAIWAN. BU THIS MAY BE ONLY A MATTER OF TIME. TO HAVE ANY CREDIBILITY WITH RANK-AND-FILE CATHOLICS, THE CHURCH WOULD HAVE TO SETTLE ITS RELIGIOUS DISPUTES WITH BEJING BEFORE IT GRANTED THE FAVOR OF DIPLOMATIC RECOGNITION.
MANY WESTERNERS OVER THE CENTURIES HAVE GONE TO BEJING AND COME HOME CLAIMING THEY HAD NEGOTIATED A GREAT DEAL - ONLY TO FIND LATER THEY'D BEEN HAD. ON THE EVIDENCE TO FAR, THE VATICAN IS JOINING THIS UNFORTUNATE LIST.

#12 OF 12 - THIS UNHAPPY BOOK REPORT ON "THE POLITICAL POPE"

# 12 OF 12 - THIS UNHAPPY BOOK REPORT ON "THE POLITICAL POPE"
George Neumayer, "The Political Pope"
Chapter 4 - The Liberal Jesuit from Latin America - 64-68
"Even the liberal author Gary Wills, famous for his aggressive criticism of the Catholic Church's conservatism, has had to acknowledge that the Jesuit order's liberal experimentation after Vatican II backfired, causing it to spiral into a heterodoxy and decadence.
"Entering the Jesuits used to take one into a stable world; but that is far from the experience of recent times," Will wrote in the New York Review of Books: "A thirty -five-year-old still studying theology says: "My novice master left to marry, et cetera. One cannot help to get the sense that we of this generation of Jesuits may be the last of the Shakes."...
Flattering the liberalism of the Jesuit editors of Las Civilta Catholica, Pope Francis scolded "small-minded" traditionalists for their "pastoral" incompetence, a laughable claim in light of his own order's disintegration.... To take one measure of the Jesuit universities in the U.S. Congress vote for gay marriage and abortion rights... Limiting their study to American Jesuits, they noted that the number of who quit the priesthood and abandoned the order after Vatican II outnumbered the ones who stayed....
Shortly, after Francis's papal election, Vatican correspondent John Allen, who is sympathetic to the pope's liberalism, traveled to Buenos Aires and reported that "vocations to the priesthood have been falling in Buenos Aires on {Bergoglio's} watch, despite the fact they're up in some other diocese. Last year the archdiocese ordained just 12 new priests, as opposed to 40-50 per year when Bergoglio took charge...
Jesuitical Situation Ethics:
The German philosopher Robert Spaemann sees in this pontificate a return to situation ethics that Pope John Paul II rejected, " an influential movement ... which can be found as early as the 17th century among the Jesuits." The popularity of Jesuitical situation ethics diminished under Pope John Paul II and Pope Benedict XVI, as they battled the "culture of death" and the "dictatorship of relativism."  But under the pontificate of Francis, it has been revived, even though the magisterium of the Church has repeatedly condemned it.... Pope Pius XII condemned situation ethics by name, saying that no "situation" justifies the suspension of moral norms rooted in the natural moral law....
He (Pope Francis) has never questioned the damaging liberal fashions within the Jesuit order, reserving his scorn instead for "bankrupt" Thomists and other traditionalists whom he deemed insufficiently progressive for failing to "understand how human beings understand themselves today...
With its free-floating concepts of mercy and sin, Pope Francis's 2016 papal exhortation Amoris Laetitia reads like something Carl Rogers could have written. More than a few commentators have noted the Jesuitical casuistry of the document, with its slippery appeals to non-judgmentalism and its tribute to the primacy of conscience. "Situation ethics is back," says Thomas Pauken, author of THE THIRTY YEARS WAR, in an interview for this book. "Francis was infected by the virus of 1960s liberalism."
Amoris Laetitia is "typical of a Jesuit," said Archbishop Bruno Forte, who helped Pope Francis draft it. Forte recounted how Francis told him that they needed to use ambiguity to loosen up the Church's prohibition on Communion for adulterers. ...
Were a conservative pope to operate in this Machiavellian manner, the liberal media would object. But it approves of Pope Francis's Jesuitical methods. The leftist filmmaker Michael Moore has praised him for his devious patience "he bided his time") and his "long game."
"Francis would like to liberalize church doctrine on marriage, the family, homosexuality, but knows he lacks the support and institutional power to do it. So he's decided on a course of stealth reform that involves sowing seeds of future doctrinal change by undermining the enforcement of doctrine today," writes Damon Linker of the Week.

"The hope would be that a generation or two from now the gap between official  doctrine and the behavior that's informally accepted in Catholic parishes across the world would grow so fast that a global grassroots movement in favor of liberalizing change would rise up at long last to sweep aside the old, musty, already-ignored rules." HEARINGS ON JUDGE BRETT KAVANAUGH AND POPE FRANCIS # 1

HEARINGS ON JUDGE BRETT KAVANAUGH AND POPE FRANCIS # 1
IN PURSUIT OF THE TRUTH - HTTP://WWW.//CINOPSBEGONEBLOGSPOT.COM - WED. SEP. 5, 2018
YESTERDAY, AND TODAY WAS QUITE AN EDUCATIONAL AND LEARNING EXPERIENCE FOR ALL AMERICANS, PARTICULARLY CHRISTIANS AND SPECIFICALLY CATHOLICS VOTERS. HOPE THEY WILL WATCH FOR THE REST OF THE HEARINGS ON JUDGE BRETT KAVANAUGH FOR THE SUPREME COURT.
The secular culture hates President Trump. Directly and indirect they also hate "the deplorables", traditional America, the Founding Fathers and the strong  pro-life, pro-marriage, and pro-family parts of the nation. Be aware, that there are about a dozen Catholic-in-name-only Democratic Senatorial politicians. A CINOP is a nominal Catholic politician who supports abortion-on-demand, euthanasia, same-sex marriage etc. and directly and Indirectly Planned Parenthood.  Watch these CINOPs ! Senators Leahy, Durbin, Cantwell, Casey, Gillibrand. Kaine, Markey, McCaskill, Murray, Menendez, and Reed.
NOW FOR THE FUTURE HEARINGS ON POPE FRANCIS:
Selected excerpt from "First Things", Francis and the Journalists, by John Waters, 8-31-18. John is an Irish writer and commentator, the author of nine books, and a playwright.
"The pope exchange with journalists on the plane back to Italy must rank as one of the strangest episodes of mutual avoidance in the history of journalism. An issue that journalists have prosecuted with extreme vigor for a quarter-century had finally arrived at the door of a pope: a direct concrete accusation that, in a specific instance, he had protected sexual abuser.
Yet the omerta of the day continued in the early exchanges of the press conference, with several questions from high journalists making no reference to the matter.
Then Anna Matanga of CBS - the first mainstream platform to cover the Vigano story on Sunday - asked: "This morning, very early, a document by Archbishop Carlo Maria Vigano came out.
In it, he says that in 2013 he had a personal talk with you at the Vatican, and that in that talk, he spoke to you explicitly of the behavior of and sexual abuse by former - Cardinal McCarrick. I wanted to ask you if this was true. I also wanted to ask something else:
The archbishop also said that Pope Benedict sanctioned McCarrick, that he had forbidden him to live in a seminary, to celebrate Mass in public, he couldn't travel, he has sanctioned by the Church. May I ask you whether these two things are true?"
The pope replied: "I will respond to your question, but I would prefer last - first we speak about the trip, and then other topics ... I read the statement this morning, and I must tell you sincerely that, I must say this , to you and all those who are interested. Read the statement carefully and make up your own judgment. I will not say a single word about this. I believe the statement speaks for itself. And you have the journalistic capacity to draw your own conclusions, I may speak. But, I would like your professional maturity to do the work for you. It will be good for you. That's good." ...
The pope's refusal to answer the question was meekly accepted by the journalists present, who would surely have brought the plane down had the pontiff's name been Benedict or John Paul. ...
And when you read the pope's response again in light of what has happened - or not happened - in the several days since, it acquires an ominous tenor, inviting a stab at a new translation. Here is mine"
"Read the statement in the knowledge of the relationship you and I share. We are men and women of the world and like-minded on what is important. We know where we stand on matters like homosexual priests. But be careful how you handle this Vigano business - a wrong word could undo all we have achieved. I have faith in you to figure out who this man is. Do your work and there will be no need for me to risk my position. Once you have diffused the situation, I will deal with Vigano for the record. We are all adults here. I know I can count on you,  I need your help on this, we have an understanding that has worked well so far. Trust me."

EMERITUS POPE BENEDICT XVI AND HIS PURSUIT OF THE TRUTH

EMERITUS POPE BENEDICT XVI AND HIS PURSUIT OF THE TRUTH
In Pursuit of the Truth - Http://www.cinopsbegoneblogspot.com Labor Day, Mon. Sep. 3, 2018

Pope Benedict's classic book is, "Joseph Cardinal Ratzinger, "Co-Workers of the Truth" - Meditations for Every Day of the Year, 1992 Ignatius Press, San Francisco:  Let us focus on the Sep. 13th meditation.

IN THE CHRISTIAN CATALOGUE OF VIRTUES, DESPAIR - THAT IS, THE RADICAL OPPOSITE OF FAITH AND HOPE - IS LISTED AS A SIN AGAINST THE HOLY SPIRIT, BECAUSE IT FAILS TO TAKE INTO ACCOUNT HIS POWER TO HEAL AND TO FORGIVE AND THUS REJECTS REDEMPTION.

CORRESPONDINGLY, IN THE NEW RELIGION, "PESSIMISM" IS THE SIN OF ALL SINS, FOR DOUBT IN REGARD TO OPTIMISM, PROGRESS, AND UTOPIA  IS A FRONTAL ATTACK ON THE SPIRIT OF THE CURRENT AGE: A CONTESTING OF ITS FUNDAMENTAL CREDO, ON WHICH ITS CERTAINTY RESTS, ALTHOUGH, IT IS, NONETHELESS, CONSTANTLY THREATENED IN VIEW OF THE WEAKNESS OF TALK ABOUT A "MAKE-BELIEVE" GOD.

ALL THIS WAS BROUGHT TO MY MIND AGAIN BY THE DEBATE OCCASIONED BY THE PUBLICATION IN 1985 OF MY "REPORT ON THE STATE OF THE CHURCH" [PUBLISHED IN ENGLISH AS THE RATZINGER REPORT. AN EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW ON THE STATE OF THE CHURCH (SAN FRANCISCO: IGNATIUS PRESS, 1985].

THE INDIGNATION AROUSED BY THIS SIMPLE BOOK CLIMAXED IN THE CONDEMNATION: A PESSIMISTIC BOOK. IN MANY PLACES, ATTEMPTS WERE MADE EVEN TO PREVENT THE SAIL OF IT BECAUSE A HERESY OF SUCH MAGNITUDE WAS JUST NOT TO BE TOLERATED.

THOSE WHO SUBSCRIBED TO THIS PUBLIC OPINION PUT THE BOOK ON THE INDEX OF FORBIDDEN BOOKS: A NEW INQUISITION REVEALED ITS STRENGTH.

IT WAS ONCE AGAIN EVIDENT THAT THERE IS NO GREATER SIN AGAINST THE SPIRIT OF THE AGE THAN TO PUT ONESELF IN A POSITION WHERE ONE CAN BE ACCUSED OF A LACK OF OPTIMISM. THE QUESTION WAS CERTAINLY NOT.

"IS WHAT HAS BEEN SAID TRUE OR NOT TRUE? ARE THE DIAGNOSES RIGHT OR WRONG?

I HAVE BEEN ABLE TO FIND NO EVIDENCE THAT ANYONE TOOK THE TROUBLE TO INVESTIGATE SUCH OUTMODED QUESTIONS. THE CRITERION WAS SIMPLE:

"IS IT OR NOT OPTIMISTIC?"
AND GIVEN THIS CRITERION, THE BOOK WAS, OF COURSE, CONDEMNED.
George H. Kubeck
P.S. DEAR U.S.CATHOLIC BISHOPS,
Try to remember which one of your advisers condemned the the sale of Benedict's book. That mindset dominates your office today. Since when are we cooperating with the spirit of the age. What is the difference between Political correctness decisions and modern Catholic religious correctness decisions? I am thinking of your involvement prior to the Janus Supreme Court decisions.
P.P.S.
"History arouses very little interest nowadays." Sep. 30, Benedict.  Likewise, the truth is not very popular today.  The culture of death hates the truth. It censors and smothers it often with false reasoning and science contrary to Natural Law. Billionaires keep it afloat.  The pursuit of the truth is a badge of honor. The death culture may call you a racist or a conservative or cut off one's free speech like this  blog.

Lastly, and in my opinion, the election of President Trump can also be explained as a miracle by God, a temporary reprieve for pro-life, marriage and family. If the Republicans lose on Nov. 6th, it is because not enough Christians voted for them. Hence, the Christians lost the election. The Culture of Death takes over.

Padre Pio - The True Story by C Bernard Ruffin
Chapter 5, 'A holy Priest, A Perfect Victim'  77- 80
"God seemed to be playing games of hide-and-seek. This oscillation between extreme exaltation and violent depression is a common experience among mystics. Both St. Catherine of Sienna and St. Teresa of Avila spoke of a "game of love," in which God seems, by turns, to hide and then return to the soul. At times Pio was "almost in paradise"; at other times, he felt as if Satan were about to snatch him out of the Lord's hands. Benedetto assured him that this was a normal part of spiritual growth.
As Pio grew in faith, gradually he found himself able to rise above the temptations of the devil and worry less about the possibility of being successfully tempted....
These wounds, which Pio which tried to conceal were a source of great embarrassment. Besides the doctors an the archpriest Pannullo, the only person to whom he showed them was his friend Mercurio Scocca. Pio concealed them even from Mammella, who noticed something was wrong and remarked that he was moving his hands as if he were playing the guitar. But Pio successfully evaded her questions and hid the lesions from her eyes.
A few days later after seeing Carfdone, Pio went to Pannullo. "Pati, do me a favor," he said. "Let's pray together to ask Jesus to take away this annoyance. I do want to suffer, even to die of suffering, but all in secret."
"Dear Son," replied Pannullo, "I'll help to pray and ask Jesus to take this annoyance away. Yet, if it is God's will, you must yield yourself to do His will in all and over all. And remember, since this is for the salvation of souls & for the good of the entire world, you must say to Jesus, "Do with me as Thou wilt.'"

The two men prayed, and the wounds went away - for a season. From Pannullo's comment, it seems the archpriest already knew of Pio's desire to make an offering of himself to Jesus for the conversion of souls. Only after consulting the easygoing Pati in September was Pio able to bring himself, in November, to reveal his intention to the fierce and formidable Padre Benedetto. And it was another year before he could muster the courage to tell his spiritual director about the stigmata. He did so after the wounds had reappeared, a year to the day after their first occurrence. On this occasion, Pio wrote.
"Yesterday something happened, something I cannot explain or understand. In the middle of the palms of my hands there appeared a small red spot the size of a small coin, accompanied by a strong, sharp pain in the middle of the red spots. The pain was most intense in the middle of the left hand, so much so that I still feel it. Also I feel some pain in the soles of my feet.
This phenomenon has been going on for almost a year, yet recently there has been a brief period of time in which it has not occurred. Please do not be upset that I have not mentioned it to you before. The reason is that I had to overcome a cursed embarrassment to tell you about it. If you only knew the great effort I had to make to tell you about it! I would have told you many things but I was unable to express myself."
Chapter 6 - Between Heaven and Hell - 81
"Immediately after he received Padre Pio's letter describing the stigmata, Padre Benedetto wrote to the minister general of the Capuchin Order, Padre Pacifico of Seggiano, telling him about the young friars' holiness and asking about the advisability of sending him once again to live in a religious community. After describing Padre Pio as "a young priest of angelic character," the provincial mentions Pio's offering of himself as a victim of divine love and his mysterious illness, linking the two phenomena together: "He had also asked to participate in the pains of the Savior, and has been granted this in an ineffable way. Migraine headaches, resistant to any remedy, and illness inexplicable to any doctor, however renowned in the healing art, have come to torment him along with great spiritual suffering. It was suspected that he had been stricken with tuberculosis, and doctors ordered him to breathe the air of his native town, especially when uncontrollable vomiting prevented him from holding even a spoonful of broth for day and days." ...
