BEN CARSON ON ISSUES IN HIS OWN WORDS # 3

BEN CARSON ON ISSUES IN HIS OWN WORDS # 3
In pursuit of the truth - http://www.cinopsbegoneblogspot.com - Wednesday, December 31, 2014    Preface:
It was the end of the year, 1812, when John Quincy Adams penned these words in his diary: " I offer to a merciful God at the close of this year my humble tribute of gratitude for the blessings with which He has, in the course of it, favored me and those dear to me." His entry is for all of us.
CLASS WARFARE:
"Class warfare is an artificial division created for political advantage, and it should be rejected outright by the American people - for we have far too many real problems to devote energy to artificial ones." America the Beautiful, page 161
DEBT:
"To saddle the next generation with unimaginable debt is not only callous, it is morally reprehensible. How can we even live with ourselves knowing that we are eroding the standard of living of the next generations with each dollar that we add to the national debt."
"It is hard to believe that our leaders in both political parties do not understand that they are jeopardizing the financial future of the next generations by allowing continued debt  accumulation, even if they are slowing the rising of the debt." One Nation, page 73
EBOLA:
"I am not comfortable with the idea of bringing infected individuals into our midst when we can readily treat them elsewhere. We can happily receive them back once the infection danger has passed. When on does a logical benefit-to-risk analysis, it is clear that the worst things that could happen by intentionally bringing this dangerous disease to America are far worse than the best things that could happen." The Washington Times, October 9, 2014
EDUCATION:
"When we instill morals and values into the educational process for young people, however, we help them realize they have an obligation to become will educated and informed citizens, and to contribute to the system as opposed to draining it of its resources. Public prayer and discussion of common principles that strengthen society's moral fabric are essential to establishing an atmosphere of courtesy and decency. The renowned Noah Webster said, "Society requires that education of youth should be watched with the most scrupulous attention. Education, in a great measure, forms the moral characters of men, and morals are a basis of government."America, p.59
" Reading was emphasized so strongly among the early settlers of America that anyone finishing the second or third grade was completely literate, as is borne out in the absolutely beautiful prose that characterized the writing skills and letters received from the Western frontiers of America in the early 19th century." Washington Times, July 16, 2014
ENERGY INDEPENDENCE:
"Several administrations have talked about the importance of energy independence, yet we remain as dependent on foreign oil as we were years ago."
"It is estimated that the amount of oil in the Dakotas and Montana is eight times greater than the amount of oil in Saudi Arabia."
"I thoroughly believe that we have a duty to protect our environment not only for ourselves but for the next generations. However, we also have a duty to develop our economic potential and free ourselves of unnecessary stress and dependency on volatile foreign sources of energy. As a bonus, energy independence for us means decreased revenues for radical terrorist elements who aim to destroy our way of life. - One Nation, pages 149 & 150
"Expanding our wealth of energy resources, as well as encouraging development of new renewable energy resources can provide an enormous economic lift with obvious benefits, but it can also bolster our role as a formidable player in the struggle for world leadership." - Washington Times, March 26, 2014
Happy New Year,
GEORGE H. KUBECK
THANKS TO RACE AGITATORS, RACE RELATIONS IN AMERICA ARE AT AN ALL TIME LOW. OUR NATION MUST FOCUS IN ON THIS NATIONALPUBLIC GOOD AND THE WELFARE OF OUR AFRICAN-AMERICANS. THIS IS A TOP PRIORITY IN THIS 2016 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS. THE DEMOCRATIC CONTROLLED CITIES WHERE MOST OF OUR AFRICAN-AMERICANS LIVE IN ARE  POLITICAL, SOCIAL, AND ECONOMIC DISASTERS. THE DEMOCRATIC POLICIES AND IDEAS JUST DON'T WORK. THEY ARE BANKRUPT AND DESTRUCTIVE IN BUILDING STRONG FAMILIES AMONG THE PEOPLE. AFRICAN AMERICANS  DESERVE A BETTER DEAL. BY ALL ACCOUNTS, BEN CARSON CAN SHOW THEM THE WAY. BESIDES WINNING THE PRESIDENCY, HE IS THE ONLY ONE THAT CAN SUCCEED IN THIS MATTER.

BEN CARSON ON ISSUES IN HIS OWN WORDS # 2

BEN CARSON ON ISSUES IN HIS OWN WORDS # 2
In pursuit of the truth - http://www.cinopsbegone.blogspot.com - Friday, Dec. 26, 2014
AMERICAN UNITY:
"The word "racism" is tossed around so easily by those intent on creating division and victimhood instead of unity." Washington Times, July 24, 2013

BALANCING THE BUDGET:
"I believe the logical approach would be to have each government agency and department trim its budget by 10 percent - with no exceptions. In each subsequent year, another 10 percent decrease would be required and would continue as long as necessary to bring the budget back into balance." America the Beautiful, page 109

BORDER SECURITY:
" I do think it is necessary to secure the border. We need to have control over who is in our country, we need to know who they are, and what they're doing here." Newsmax, June 2014

CAPITALISM:
"The concept of rewards for production lies at the foundation of capitalism and needs to understood. The anticipation of rewards for being unproductive and the fear of consequences for being unproductive are great human motivators for both young and old. Historically, when these motivators are removed, productivity declines. Nonproductive people frequently make excuses for their lack of production, and as long as they can utilize those excuses, they have no reason to change their ways. But motivate them and watch what happens." America the Beautiful, p. 74-75

CIVIL RIGHTS AND RACISM:
"Although much overt racism has been eliminated in America, there are still too many people who make sweeping generalizations about whole groups of people based on a negative encounter with a person of a different race. In order to resolve this problem, we must first admit that it exists even in our own families or ourselves - and African-American are just as likely to harbor racist attitudes as white people." America the Beautiful, page 117
" I found that it was the Republicans who were responsible for the abolition of slavery and for the passage of the Civil Rights Act. I also began to realize that it was not political biases that were largely responsible for the plight of African-Americans in our nation, but rather racist attitudes. After the many gains realized through the civil rights movement, the racist people from both parties adopted a paternalistic attitude toward African-Americans and enacted federal and state programs designed to take care of people who couldn't take care of themselves - people who were ignorant, stupid, or just plain lazy. In the process of being 'do-gooders' both Republicans and Democrats removed much of the drive and determination from innumerable African-Americans, who found it easier to accept government charity than continue on a path of hard work and self-reliance." America the Beautiful, page 157

SEASONS GREETINGS VS. MERRY CHRISTMAS

SEASONS GREETINGS VS. MERRY CHRISTMAS
in pursuit of the truth - http://www.cinopsbegoneblogspot.com - Thursday, December 25, 2014

Excerpts from a homily this morning: (St. Peter Chanel Catholic Church)

Our God and creator has become a man. He is one of us. Give glory to God who is born today, the Incarnation. God want to live in our hearts daily.

Historically, Christmas brings to our minds the most monumental event in the history of the world. It is an event that fulfills human nature itself. Yes, even pagan human nature and desires that are fulfilled in Christ.

However, TV News and advertisers seldom us the words Merry Christmas in TV commercials. It is always happy holidays and season greetings. The true meaning of Christmas is not explained. Most listeners are short-changed. The emphasis is on consumerism and persuade you to buy something that will make you happy. It also means to be nice to one another.  They persuade you to buy things that make you happy and keep the economy going.

The ancient Greek mythology tended to express the people's deep desires. The idea of having a solitary God was repulsive to them. However, in our God we have the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Also, they had the desire to have God come down and live with us.

Our God did come down. Jesus came to live with us. There is a want to become God-like. "God became man to make us God." And share the divine nature of God.

Look at all the people's mythology. We all want to know God as a family. We want to share God.

All of this is not on TV News Advertisement.  Merry Christmas means the Incarnation of God. We have the fulfillment of our human nature. Give our lives totally to Christ.

We believe in the Incarnation. God entered our universe as Jesus, a human being like ourselves. Every one is called to live in Christ. We will reveal Christ to others. Make this happening right now. Give glory to God who is born today and lives in our hearts daily.

Merry Christmas,
George H. Kubeck

Jesus Christ is the reason for the season.

ABORTION:
Ben Carson's tenacious commitment to life is evident in this recounting of an exchange with the head of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) on the issue of abortion.
"I asked him if he would speak for and defend the rights of a twenty-eight-week-old baby (born prematurely) who was in an incubator and on life support. He replied that that was a no brainer; of course the ACLU would defend such an individual ... I then asked why it was difficult to defend a baby that was five weeks further along in development and was in the most protected environment possible, but easy to defend a less viable individual who was outside the womb." - America the Beautiful, pages 99 & 100.
"How can a society that kills millions of innocent unborn babies and then labels anyone opposing the practice as 'anti-woman' claim even a modicum of goodness? How can a nation that uses its news media to subtly trash traditional families, promote a drug-filled lifestyle, and ridicule faith in God claim the mantle of righteousness?" Washington Times, April 16, 2014
"According to God's word, life begins at conception rather than at the time of delivery or at some arbitrary point during gestation."
"In the Book of Exodus, chapter 21, versus 22-24, it is made quite clear that God considers the life of the unborn to just as valuable as the life of an adult. When you couple this belief with the commandment, "'Thou shalt not kill' (Exodus 20:13), it is clear that abortion is rarely a moral option." - One Nation, page 193
AMERICAN COMPASSION:
"When disasters occur in other countries, who is first on the scene with massive aid? The United States, of course. It does not matter whether the mishap befalls a friend or an enemy, we are always there. It doesn't matter whether it is a very poor country like Haiti or a very rich country such as Japan, we are still always there. Our compassion for and aid to other countries is unprecedented in the history of the world." - America the Beautiful, page 184
AMERICAN EXCEPTIONALISM:
"In 1831, Alexis de Tocqueville, the famous French historian, came to America to study our nation.... Tocqueville was impressed by the fiery sermons that emphasized the word of God and the social mores of the day. He concluded his American analysis by saying 'America is great, because America is good. If America ceases to be good, she will cease to be great.' America was different because we openly acknowledged the role of God in our lives." Washington Times, April 16, 2014.
"... there has never been another nation like the United States of America. Yes, we have made mistakes, but we continue to learn from them, and as long as we remain capable of embracing life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness as our goal, and we are willing to guarantee those things to our citizens, I believe we will continue to grow in greatness." - America the Beautiful, page 194.
AMERICAN GENEROSITY:
"America has been and continues to be the most generous nation on earth. We love to help the less fortunate, and I hope we always care for our fellow man." Washington Times, July 17, 2013
AMERICAN GREATNESS:
"Although it was an arduous road filled with obstacles and grueling hours, I was able to realize my dream because of generous we enjoy here in our nation. It is this ability of anyone to achieve their dreams that is perhaps the greatest thing about America." America the Beautiful, page 184
AMERICAN LEADERSHIP:
"It is time to set aside political correctness and replace it with the bold values and principles that founded our nation and caused it to race to the pinnacle of the world faster than any other nation in history. It is time to stop apologizing and to start leading, because the world is desperately in need of fair and ethical leadership. If that leader is not America, who will it be, and where will they lead?" - America the Beautiful, page 195

JUST 17% OF THE BLACK VOTE

JUST 17% OF THE BLACK VOTE
In pursuit of the truth - http://www.cinopsbegone.blogspot.com -Friday, Dec., 19, 2014
Preface: How lucky informed Americans are with Dennis Prager on talk radio KLAC 870 A.M., Bill O'Reilly on Fox News and Richard Thompson , President of Thomas More Law Center.
"Everywhere we look, America is in a deepening crisis. Our nation's religious and moral foundations are disintegrating... A corruptness has taken over our political system. Politicians of both major parties are more interested in appeasing special interests groups to win elections than doing what is in the best interests of the American people and the continued existence of a free and independent nation based on Christian principles. We need to keep our Nation's traditional Judeo-Christian values at the forefront." Richard Thompson
But wait we have Ben Carson for President. His booklet, Ben Carson, On the Issues in His own Words:  will be printed out in future letters. Ben is a breadth of fresh air in the political arena.
Here are excerpts from RUN BEN RUN - Congrats, America: Ben Carson is now your 2016 GOP Front Runner: December 18, 21014.
"It's not only national polls like FOX News that now show Ben Carson as a frontrunner for President of the United States, the Des Moines Register poll in Iowa also has Carson at the top. Remember, the 2015 Iowa Caucus is just one year away.
"That's right, if Ben Carson receives just 17% of the black vote he wins every swing state and marches right into the White House as the first president who is a descendant of slaves. Frankly, I (John Phillip Sousa IV, Chairman, National Draft Ben Carson for President Committee) expect Ben Carson to win much more than just 17% of the black vote ... maybe a majority.
And when you consider the fact that Ben Carson has long been used as a role model for young African Americans by their parents, why shouldn't he receive a majority of the Black vote? Don't forget that virtually all black Americans have seen the full length movie starring Cuba Gooding, Jr., Gifted Hands, that depicts the amazing story of Ben Carson.
But, there is even better data that confirms the power of a respected black candidate for President like Ben Carson.
When Herman Cain ran for President in 2012, his internal polls showed him winning more than 40% of the black vote and nearly 60% of the Hispanic vote. Cain's campaign team was stunned....
They finally concluded that it was because of both black and Hispanic Americans identified with the life experience of Herman Cain. He had escaped poverty to become a successful and prosperous businessman. And because poor blacks and Hispanics want to escape poverty, why not support someone who knows how to do so? ... Ben Carson is an icon in those communities.
Ben Carson grew up in one of the worst areas of Detroit, Michigan to become a world-renowned pediatric neurosurgeon. He became the youngest division chairman in the history of John Hopkins University Hospital, leading that multi-hundred million dollar enterprise to new levels of innovation and success.
Most important, Ben Carson has never lost touch with where he started. He and his wife Candy started the Carson Scholars Fund to help had working and intelligent students escape poverty and succeed in life. The nonprofit the Carson's started now operates in all fifty states, helping thousands of students to follow his path to success.

THE MEANING OF ADVENT

THE MEANING OF ADVENT
In pursuit of the truth - http://www.cinopsbegoneblogspot.com - Friday, December 5, 2014
Advent "- what does it meant? "Advent" is a Latin word that can be rendered in English as "presence, arrival". In the language of the ancient world it was a technical term expressing the arrival of an official especially the arrival of kings or emperors in the provinces.
It could however, equally denote the arrival of the deity who appears out of concealment and powerfully manifests his presence or whose presence was celebrated in cultic ritual.
The Christians adopted the term to proclaim their special relationship to Jesus Christ.
For them, he is the King who entered this wretched province, our world, and gifted it with the feast of his visit. He it is whose presence in the liturgical assembly they profess.
With this expression they intended to say, in general, "God is here." He has not abandoned this world. He has not left us alone. Even though we cannot see and touch him like so many things - he is present, nevertheless, and visits us in many ways.
Advent is a two-fold reminder for us: for one, that God's presence in the world has already begun, that he, in hidden ways, is already here; and that his presence has only just begun and not yet reached completion but still is growing, developing and maturing.
His presence has already begun, and we, the believers, are the ones through whom he desires to be present in the world... "the Light of the world" has already appeared in the darkness of the night in Bethlehem and has changed the unholy night of human sin into the holy night of divine forgiveness for this sin.
+++++++
Advent is not mere remembrance and representation of something of the past but that Advent means this present time, this our present reality: the Church here does not indulge in play but refers us to something that represents the truth about our Christian existence as well....
+++++++
One of the fundamental elements of Advent is waiting, which at the same time is hoping.  Advent thus expresses the essence of Christian chronology and the essence of history as such. Jesus has illustrated this in many parables: in the story of the servants who wait for the return of their master or else, forget about his return and act as though they were the owners; ... and in the parables of seedtime and harvest...
For the gifts of Jesus Christ does not merely reside in the future but indeed extend into the present. He, though hidden, dwells here already. He speaks to me in manifold ways - through Sacred Scripture, through the Church season, through the saints, through the various events in everyday life, through all of creation, which takes on a different appearance when he is standing behind it rather than being shrouded in the fog of dubious origin and dubious destiny.
I can talk to him; I can wail before him and offer him my sufferings, my impatience, my questions, knowing that he is lending me an open ear.

THE CASE FOR THE COMMONWEAL CATHOLIC

THE CASE FOR THE COMMONWEAL CATHOLIC

In pursuit of the truth - http://www.cinopsbegoneblogspot.com - Thursday, Nov. 20, 2014
Reference: Commonweal, October 24, 2014 issue, Celebrating 90 Years of Debate: excerpts from the excellent article by Luke Timothy Johnson, The Commonweal Catholic - It Started with Origen
"The space Commonweal (and its faithful readers) seeks to occupy is a tight one, and difficult to maintain in a world that insists we either mindlessly adhere to received teachings or reckless reject the wisdom of the past in the name of enlightenment....
If the religiously liberal regard traditionalists as dumb sheep, the latter regard the former as wolves out to ravage the flock....
Hiding one's faith, or abandoning it altogether, is increasingly the price of citizenship in the world of free inquiry. Thus, in the university department of religion, it is a matter of pride to study religion rather than to practice it; some professors of religious studies understand their mission to be the demystifying of traditional beliefs and practices among their students....
"Political correctness" is an overused term, yet it accurately designates a complex academic "right-thinking" that emphasizes an apocalyptic vision of climate change; the evils of tobacco (but not pot); the oppressive character of late capitalism; the malignancy of "europhallic" thought; and the embrace of all forms of human diversity except those representing religious traditions....
More than ever, the world needs a place where "liberal convictions" and "Catholic tradition" are in conversation. For ninety years, Commonweal has provided that place....
The fact that Commonweal frequently infuriates both sides of a such hot-button issues as abortion and same-sex marriage suggests a genuine independence. If there is one area where "liberal convictions" tend to lead to predictable positions, it is in the editorial pages - especially when the topic is national and international politics. Here, I think the magazine has accepted the premise that righteousness and goodness surface more regularly among Democrats than Republicans, and that the interventions of big government can create social justice. ...
If, in defense of liberalism, Commonweal has found it necessary to privilege some voices more than others, because these voices explicitly seek to maintain a universe of open conversation, the editors have nonetheless managed to include many less-than-liberal writers in its pages, and I applaud for that.... The magazine in recent years has represented that deep tradition with its vigorous examination of Catholicism's historical sources in Scripture, in patristic authors, and in the writings of mystics and theologians through the centuries..
"What more can Commonweal do to communicate even more effectively its sense of the church? The first is to bring back the voices of such early reformers as Wycliffe, Huss, and Marsilius of Padua agents for change whose powerful arguments issues from within the Catholic tradition....The second project is to investigate empathically the views of those who seek to return to a Tridentine church. What are the values they see as having been lost? What forms might best embody those values?
The third thing Commonweal can do to represent the Catholic tradition more comprehensively is to devote greater attention to the demands of discipleship in the broadest sense; the moral entailments of the Gospel, the shape of piety, the call to holiness. Finally, although Commonweal correctly refuses to identify the Catholic tradition primarily with the Vatican or the papacy, like all media it gives more attention to the Church's central authority than it does to the many manifestations of the tradition in parishes, monasteries, and convents."...

THE CASE AGAINST THE COMMONWEAL CATHOLIC

THE CASE AGAINST THE COMMONWEAL CATHOLIC
In pursuit of the truth - http://www.cinopsbegoneblogspot.com - Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2014

5. Reference" "First Things," December, 2014 issue, R.R. Reno, "The Future of Catholicism".

"The typical American today finds the idea of obedience to authority troubling. Liberal Catholics respond by downplaying the Church's authority, putting an accent on freedom of conscience and emphasizing that there's room for questioning and doubt.... This liberalism ... is sincere strategy of evangelization, a genuine belief that if we make the Church more flexible and modern," more people will join. The evidence shows however that it doesn't work.

Over the last few decades a cohort of Catholics have emerged who counsel the opposite approach, I myself (R.R. Reno) count myself among them. We believe that evangelization is best served by boldness and clarity about the difference faith makes. Hard, demanding truths clearly stated win hearts and minds. The Church is most relevant when she stiffens her spine and refuses to listen to all the voices that tell her she must change to remain relevant....

We're divided on what it means to serve the poor in an affluent society. Liberal Catholicism fixes on the economic well-being of the most vulnerable. A FIRST THINGS Catholic like me focuses on their moral welfare. The liberal Catholic tends to think that the greatest crimes of our era are to be found in under-funded welfare programs and failures to raise the minimum wage. I point to the callous way in which upper-middle-class deconstructions of traditional morality have made marriage into a luxury good. To serve the poor, we must rebuild social capital.

Moreover, I fear that, while necessary, many welfare programs have contributed to the decline in social capital. These programs were developed to blunt the negative consequences of problems like illegitimacy and lack of economic opportunity. In so doing , however, they often create perverse incentives. It's a law of human behavior that we tend to get more of what we subsidize.

For decades our welfare programs have subsidized choices and behaviors that have hurt poor communities over the long haul. As a result, I just don't just disagree with liberal Catholics about the problem of poverty in twenty-first-century America: I think they contribute to the problem of supporting programs that are ill-designed and have many negative consequences.

The feeling is mutual, I'm afraid. Liberal Catholics were apoplectic about welfare reform in the 1990's and denounced those of us who supported it as enemies of the poor and unfaithful to basic Catholic social teaching. Congressman Paul Ryan suffers the same denunciation with every effort to make our entitlements sustainable over the long haul.

We've all felt the lash of denunciation when we've suggested that the Democratic party's economic policies were not delivered by God on the Mount Sinai. These experiences indicate that, when it comes to how we serve the poor, liberal Catholics are very committed to polarization.

George H. Kubeck,

In the next letter we will present the Commonweal Catholic position. They believe that righteousness and goodness surface more regularly among Democrats than Republicans and only the intervention of big government can create social justice.

This is a false premise for their editorial pages to promote. It creates a destructive bias throughout the magazine with this bias towards the Democratic party and a false approach to Catholic social justice.

THE LEGACY OF RONALD REAGAN

  THE LEGACY OF RONALD REAGAN
In pursuit of the truth - http://www.cinipsbegoneblogspot.com -Veteran's Day, Tues. Nov. 11, 2014
This article in the Commentary, Nov. Issue - 2014,  by Henry Olsen and Peter Wehner is dedicated to Neurologist Ben Olsen, our next President  or Vice-President of the U.S.A.  Excerpts as follows:

"The core of Reagan's thought lay not primarily in his love of freedom, as powerful as that was, but in something else, something captured in the epitaph on his grave, which quoted his own words" 'I know in my heart that man is good. That what is right will always triumph. And there's purpose and worth to each and every life.'

For Reagan, human dignity - not human freedom - came first. This idea permeated his political career. As early as 1957, in a commencement address at Eureka College, his alma mater, he defined the Cold War as "simple a struggle between those of us who believe that man has the dignity and sacred right and the ability to choose and shape his own destiny and those who do not so believe." For Reagan, human dignity was what enabled human freedom - that is, the ability of each individual to "shape his own destiny" - not in reverse.

A minor-seeming difference, but a crucial one for Reagan, it meant that everyone's choice, whether great or humble was worthy of protection, and that common virtues were to be valued as much as, not much more than, uncommon ones. A 1964 National Review essay makes that crystal clear. Conservatives he wrote, aim to "represent the forgotten American - that simple soul who goes to work, takes out his insurance, pays for his kids' schooling, contributes to his church and charity and knows there just 'ain't no such thing as a free lunch/'" Buy virtue of his dignity, such a person, neither high nor low, ought to be allowed to live his life as he sees fit.

He  believed the same dignity was to be found among the destitute.... What he despised was a system that "perpetuated poverty by substituting a permanent dole for a pay check," thereby "destroying self-reliance, dignity, and self-respect....   In his 1986 memoir The Triumph of Politics, Stockman complained that Reagan "sees the plight of real people before anything else."....

Reagan also placed a heavy emphasis on deregulation. Except where absolutely necessary, government regulation, he said, infringed on human dignity because "government can't control the economy withy controlling people...   In 1964, he endorsed the idea of Social Security. That same year, and at a time when Medicare did not yet exist, he declared that "no one in this country should be denied medical care because of a lack of funds."...

Reagan's welfare state would provide assistance only to those truly in need, and those benefits would be generous. He often touted the success of his California welfare reform, which not only removed people from the rolls but increased benefits to remaining recipients by average of 43%.

.... He also wanted to eliminate subsidies to Amtrak, which was costing tax-payers an average of $35 for each passenger it boarded.... He objected to Social Security and Medicare's cookie cutter uniformity and their coerciveness.... A person working over an average lifetime at an average salary, he pointed out, could buy an annuity upon retirement that paid nearly twice as much as Social Security.

Finally, Reagan's fundamental stress on human dignity infused his view of the world beyond America's shores as well as his deep, uncompromising opposition to Communism - truly, to him, the Soviet Union was an "evil empire" in which individuals were conceived were conceived and treated as slaves, to be used at will by the state....  Reagan often quipped that he did not leave the Democratic Party; in its leftward lurch, it left him... Reagan's core political ideas was his public disposition, often characterized as sunny and optimistic...

One of them was his unusual courage... he was being labeled a racist, a warmonger, a callous oppressor of the poor. Seemingly serenely, Reagan held fast to his course - a course that would eventually see the rollback of Soviet expansionism and the collapse of the "evil empire" abroad and thanks to "Reaganomics," the revival of prosperity at  home.

BLASE CUPICH: PRAY FOR THE INTERCESSION OF ST. JOHN PAUL II

Blase Cupich: Pray for the Intercession of St. John Paul II
In pursuit of the truth - http://www.cinopsbegoneblogspot.com - Thursday, Nov. 6, 2014
Preface:
"The Catholic world has been abuzz over the news that Blase Cupich will succeed Francis George as the ninth archbishop of Chicago." This is very bad news for Catholics in America.
First, let's share the good news. 1) The national election on Tuesday and thank God for Fox News. Without their reportage, we would not know what is going on in America. 2) As of Tuesday, Dr. Ben Carson has officially changed affiliation from Independent to Republican . His volunteers helped out in all of Iowa's 99 counties to get Joni Ernest elected. He also helped out with radio ads to help defeat Kay Hagan in North Carolina.
Thank God for Lifesitenews.com and the "New Oxford Review" November 2014 issue,  page 16 for the disturbed mindset of Blase Cupich which is an attack and insult to the "Catechism of the Catholic Church", the "Gospel of Life" and St. John Paul II.
Enter the American Bergoglio page 16
"David Gibson of Religion News Service confirms NCR's (National Catholic Reporter) adulatory assessment, describing Archbishop-elect Cupich as " a prelate closely identified with the Catholic Church's progressive wing." ... Vatican-watcher Rocco Palma, whose Whispers in the Loggia blog tends to be reliable, called the appointment "the most shocking major move the American hierarchy has seen since the turn of millennium." ... he did explain that the choice of Cupich reflects the Pope's desire for a Church "geared toward the 'periphery' as opposed to being locked in its 'sacristies.' [Experiment but not in this area of the country.] ...

"The appointment of Cupich," wrote Magister  (Oct 4), "is thought to have been recommended to the Pope with particular enthusiasm by Cardinal Oscar Andres Rodriguez Maradiaga and above all by  Cardinal Theodore McCarrick, Archbishop Emeritus of Washington, a representative of the 'liberal' old guard of the U.S. episcopate." [This is the tragic mindset that got Catholics attached to Barrack Obama's anti-Christian policies. Obama's social justice is neither Christian nor Catholic.]

As for the mainstream media, we looked long and hard for any negative publicity about Archbishop-elect Cupich - and found none. Just about every major new outlet in the country, including the bilious Huffington Post, which misses no chance to bash the Church, has adulated him. (The anti-Catholic Huffington Post, ... has consistently written glowingly of Pope Francis.)
... What gives many orthodox Catholics pause is Cupich's - Francis's - emphasis on burying the Church's role in the so-called culture war. Francis, for example, famously said that the Church is "obsessed" with same-sex marriage and abortion. The implication: Catholics should back away from asserting a Catholic point of view in public forums. ...

"According to Magister, Cupich "seems to get laryngitis every time there is a discussion of abortion, euthanasia, and religious freedom, or criticism of the Obama administration over health care reform." Lifesitenews.com reported that in 2011, as bishop of Spokane, Cupich urged priests and seminarians in the Spokane diocese not to pray outside abortion clinics. Cupich also expressed disapproval of the 40 Days for Life event, an international pro-life campaign that promotes prayer and fasting to end abortion ... Bishop Cupich was, in essence, telling pro-life Catholics to lock themselves in their "sacristies." ...

A further indication that Cupich is on the same pastoral page as Francis came in an interview with Chicago's CBS affiliate in which Cupich indicated that he would be willing to give Holy Communion to anyone who approached him, including publicly pro-abortion politicians and LGBT activists wearing controversial buttons supporting same-sex marriage. "As long as they are in church, are willing to hear the word of God, be open to Christ's call of conversion for each one of us, then I think that's sufficient for me," he said.

"We cannot politicize the communion rail, and I just don't think that that works in the long run." (As for why this is a fallacious argument, see Fr. Regis Scanlon's guest column "On Politicizing the Eucharist," NOR, Dec. 2013. Cupich's comment seems to be a colossal gibe at Raymond Cardinal Burke's well-documented stance on the issue... when it comes to same-sex marriage, a 2012 pastoral letter he (Cupich)wrote calling for a "more civil and honest conversation about Catholic positions on equality" garnered kudos from New Ways Ministry, the nation's leading Catholic ? promoter of same-sex marriage. ....

THE ANTIDOTE TO OBAMA'S SECRET ELECTION WEAPO N

THE ANTI-DOTE TO OBAMA'S SECRET ELECTION WEAPON
In pursuit of the truth - http://www.cinopsbegoneblogspot.com All Souls Day, Sunday, Nov. 2, 2014

Pray that we will have an honest election on Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2014. It is not an irrational fear that it could be fraudulent. There is a study to be published in the December issue of the journal Electoral studies. [Why was it not published in the September or October issue?]

"Based on hard data, the researchers found that 14 percent of non citizens were registered to vote in both 2008 and 2010, with 6.4 percent actually casting ballots in 2008 (a presidential election year) 2.2 percent in 2010 (a midterm election). [How many non citizens will be voting for the Demo party on Tuesday? This is not a fair and honest election.]

The study authors conclude that non-citizen voting "likely changed outcomes 2008 outcomes including Electoral College votes and the composition of Congress." They also observed that non citizens "favor Democratic candidates over Republican candidates."

I believe the Democratic Party establishment - including Holder, Sharpton and Obama - suspected as much, which explains their scurrilous suggestion that voter ID requirements are, somehow, a racist plot to suppress minority votes."  Article by Joseph Perkins, Staff Columnist, Orange County Register, Elections - Democrats' real problem with voter ID - Voting by non citizens has already altered election results. Friday, October 31, 2014.

THE ANTIDOTE

October 30 - The Glory of America - Foreword by Bill Bright - Peter Marshall - David Manuel

In 1892 the United States Supreme Court made an exhaustive study of the connection between Christianity and the government of the United States. After researching hundreds of volumes of historical documents, the Court asserted; "these references add a volume of unofficial declarations to the mass of organic utterances that this is a religious people .... a Christian nation."

Similarly, in 1951, Supreme Court Justice George Sutherland ... reiterated that Americans are a "Christian people." And in 1952, Justice William O. Douglas affirmed "we a religious people and our institutions presuppose a Supreme Being."

November 1 - As we approach our national election day, we need to pray heed to these words of Charles Finney, America's great 19th century evangelist.
"The time has come that Christians must vote for honest men and take consistent ground in politics, or the Lord will curse them ... God cannot sustain this free and blessed country, which we love and pray for, unless the Church will take right ground. Politics are a part of religion in such a country as this, and Christians must do their duty to the country as part of their duty to God."

THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO REASON FOR CHRISTIANS IN AMERICA TO CONCEDE ANYTHING TO OBAMA'S PROGRESSIVE SECULAR NATIONAL RELIGION. FIRST OF ALL, IT IS UNCONSTITUIONAL.
HE WANTS TO TRANSFORM US INTO WHAT. "WE ARE FIVE DAYS AWAY FROM FUNDAMENTALLY TRANSFORMING THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA." BARACK OBAMA, ELECTION EVE, 2008.

WHAT OBAMA IS DOING IS AN INSULT TO TRADITIONAL, CULTURAL AND RELIGIOUS BLACK AMERICANS. HE DOES NOT SPEAK FOR BLACK AMERICANS. OBAMA'S MOTHER WAS A WHITE WOMAN. IT IS THE REASON I SO STRONGLY SUPPORT THE NEUROLOGIST BEN CARSON FOR PRESIDENT. THE LEGACY OF OBAMA IS HORRIBLE AND A TRAGEDY FOR ALL AND ESPECIALLY BLACK AMERICANS. BESIDES ALINSKY,  WHAT ARE OBAMA'S FUNDAMENTAL AMERICAN BELIEFS?  WHO DO YOU TRUST? HONESTY IS THE BEST POLICY. VOTE FOR BEN CARSON IN THE PRIMARIES. THE NATION IS LONGING FOR CHRISTIAN LEADERS. YOU ALREADY KNOW WHAT I THINK OF CATHOLIC-IN-NAME POLITICIANS.  IT IS A JUDGEMENT AND SCANDAL ON ANY CATHOLIC DIOCESE THAT ELECTS ONE. DOWN WITH CATHOLIC RELIGIOUS CORRECTNESS!

PETITION TO DR. BEN CARSON

  PETITION TO DR. BEN CARSON
RUN BEN RUN!
Dear Dr. Carson,
You said that if the American people were still "clamoring" for you to run for President you would seriously consider doing so. Well, I'm clamoring for you to run for President of the United States. We need citizen statesmen to lead our nation, not just politicians who see public office as a career.
As you have said, five Doctors signed the Declaration of Independence and played instrumental roles in leading our nation, at great risk to themselves and their families. Today America needs a President who is committed to the US Constitution, who has solutions to our debt crisis, who will end Obamacare and who will bring harmony to our nation. I believe you are that person. Please run for President! You can count on my support and prayers.

TO HADES WITH THIS CULTURE OF DEATH MINDSET

TO HADES WITH THIS CULTURE OF DEATH MINDSET

In pursuit of the truth - Feast Day of Pope Saint John Paul II - Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2014
This article is thanks to Mark Landsbaum of the Orange County Register, Saturday, Oct. 18, 2014 - 'Caesar' horning in on God's turf'

"... Religious liberty, so essential to understanding America's foundational principles, is under assault by none other than the government the Constitution was supposed to restrain.
Freedom of religion, understood by the founders to be a God-given right, is rapidly being redefined by government as merely "freedom of worship," essentially a government-granted permission.
Peter Sprigg calls it the "four-walls view of religious freedom." Sprigg is senior fellow for policy studies at the Family Research Council. The "four-walls view" holds that religious liberty may be exercised, as long as it's done within churches or homes.
"But as soon as you step outside of those four walls, you no longer have any freedom to believe what you want," Sprigg said. "And that was not what our founders had in mind at all. The First Amendment says you have the "free exercise" of your religious beliefs and if you're are just gathering for services but not practicing your faith in your everyday life, how is that religious freedom.
How similar this is to Asia and ancient Rome. How long before government intrudes even within the four walls to impose secular belief systems on pastors and parishioners? Well it is already happening.
For years government's uncompromising heavy hand has been felt by cake makers, photographers, and other businesses owned by devout Christians ordered to provide services in ways that violate their religious beliefs, such as making a wedding cake for two lesbians or hosting a same-sex wedding for two homosexual men.
The Colorado Civil Rights Division ordered Jack Phillips to reverse his Masterpiece Cakeshop's policy, "educate" his employees on serving same-sex customers and file quarterly compliance reports to demonstrate removal of his religious views from his business decisions.
"I think the state has made it very clear," said the Phillips' attorney, Nicole Martin of Alliance Defending Freedom. "Jack's First Amendment rights, Jack's freedom to express himself, or, more importantly, not express himself, must bow to complainants' message." This is akin to government demanding an Islamic restaurant make bacon burgers....
Since 1954, when Texas Senator Lyndon B. Johnson sought to disarm opposition from Christians in his re-election, churches and clergy were silenced by changes to tax law prohibiting them from endorsing or opposing political candidates, or else lose their tax exemption for the first time in the republic's history....
On Oct. 5, more than 3,500 churches supported Pulpit Freedom Sunday organized by the Alliance Defending Freedom to restore rights of pastors to speak spiritual truth from the pulpit about moral, social and government issues without fear of losing tax-exemptions. Pulpit Freedom Sunday began in 2008 with 33 pastors.
Momentum is building on the other side, too. The frequency and severity of incidents hostile to religious freedom in America have soared. By 2012 there were twice the number of several previous years combined, according to the annual Survey of Hostility to Religion in America compiled by the Texas-based Liberty Institute and the Washington, D.C. based Family Research Council. In 2013, they continued to increase.
The assaults have been on religious liberty in the public square, such as on companies opposing funding of abortion, in education, such as banning prayer by football cheerleaders and within the military, such as removal of chaplain-created video troop tributes. And of course, attacks on religious liberty of churches and ministries.
"Only five years ago, the idea that the federal government would argue before the Supreme Court that it could regulate churches to the extent of determining who a church may choose as its pastor was unthinkable, yet the government made that very argument - effectively arguing that the religious liberty clauses are meaningless - in Hosanna-Tabor Evangelical Lutheran Church & School v. EEOC. ... it may regulate churches and determine qualifications for pastors ... discriminating against churches, particularly in local governments' use of zoning laws and granting of permits,""

OBAMA'S TWILIGHT ZONE MINDSET

  Obama's Twilight Zone Mindset
In pursuit of the truth - http://www.cinopsbegoneblogspot.com - Life Chain Sunday, Oct. 5, 2014
OUR PRESIDENT OBAMA LIVES IN THE TWILIGHT ZONE AND WANTS THE AMERICAN PEOPLE TO LIVE LIKEWISE. HE IS A STRONG BELIEVER IN POLITICAL CORRECTNESS. BUT POLITICAL CORRECTNESS IS NOT INTERESTED IN THE TRUTH. AT TIMES, THERE ARE PUBLIC LIES. THE END JUSTIFIES THE MEANS.
FOR EXAMPLE, LOOK AT WHAT OCCURRED AT FT. HOOD TEXAS. AN AMERICAN TERRORIST (IN A MILITARY UNIFORM) MURDERED THIRTEEN SOLDIERS AND ONE WAS AN UNBORN BABY. HE ALSO WOUNDED 30 OTHER AMERICAN SOLDIERS.
OBAMA HAD A SPECIAL ARMY INVESTIGATION. THEIR REPORT SAID IT WAS "WORK PLACE VIOLENCE."  IT IS HORRENDOUS TO NOTE THAT OBAMA FORCED DIRECTLY AND INDIRECTLY THE ARMY TO LIE.
OBAMA'S THE TWILIGHT ZONE MINDSET AND POLITICAL CORRECTNESS ARE TWO OF THE BEST WAYS TO UNDERSTAND OBAMA'S WORDS AND SPEECHES.
Now let's take a look sadly, at a false Catholic religious correctness mindset. It made possible the power of the CINOP (Catholic-in-name-only politicians) in America and the Catholic vote for Obama in 2008 and 2012.)
Look what we got! Obama's All-Out War on Christianity in America. (Ref. Foundation for Catholic Action - P.O. Box 17483 - Washington, D.C. 20041-0483 - "Emergency 2014 - Survey of American Catholic Voters:")
1) With Obamacare has come the deadly HHS Mandate ordering all Catholic institutions to include contraceptives, sterilization and abortion in their employee insurance plans. Thanks Nancy Pelosi:
2) Catholic employers, including Catholic hospitals, colleges and universities, primary and secondary schools, soup kitchens, homes for the elderly, orphanage, etc.  are being told they must offer their employees these very things which fly in the face of our faith. Thanks Loretta Sanchez
3) Government saying they'll shut Catholic institutions down if they don't violate their consciences and comply with the mandate.... Thanks to ALL THE CINOP's in Congress and the Senate.
4) Obama's so-called "Hate Crimes Bill" - pushed into passage by the radical homosexual lobby considers our Church's teaching on homosexuality and homosexual marriage to be "hate crimes" punishable by the law.  ...
5) Obama's "Media Diversity Doctrine: - on the face it calls for "diversity in broadcasting," while in reality it is an attempt by the administration and radical secularists ensconced in the Federal Communications Commissions (FCC) to outlaw Christian radio stations. Under this new law, stations carrying Christian shows are required to give equal time to atheists, and all other faiths, even cults, or other organizations claiming to be religious.
6) Scarier still, the FCC wields the power to revoke the broadcast licenses of stations that fail to comply. ... American courts are filled with very powerful anti-Christian, ACLU-style judges...

LET'S CELEBRATE LIFE CHAIN SUNDAY. (FIRST SUNDAY OF EACH OCTOBER) THE RE-ELECTION OF CONGRESSWOMAN LORETTA SANCHEZ BY CATHOLIC VOTERS  IN ORANCE COUNTRY, CALIFORNIA  IS A SCANDAL AND SHAME ON THE DIOCESE.

FIGHT FIRE WITH FIRE!

   FIGHT FIRE WITH FIRE

In pursuit of the truth - http://www.cinopsbegoneblogspot.com - Friday, September 26, 2016

Thanks to David Horowitz for the above 48 page pamphlet. Here are several significant excerpts from the above in dealing with the democratic progressive movement in America.www.firewithfire.org  - Elizabeth@horowitzfreedomcenter.org

"As many know, I (David) grew up in a Communist family and had a misspent youth as a Marxist leader of the New Left in the 1960s. In later years, when I reflected on the damage the Sixties had inflicted on our country, I would ask myself, "Where was the ruling class? Why didn't they defend the system under attack fro these modern day Luddites and America haters? Why didn't they expel us from the schools we tried to shut down? ...

If you want to fight the left you have to fight fire with fire. That means first and foremost yo have to hold them to account for hurting the people they are pretending to help.... Already Obamacare is cutting the work week to 30 hours. Whose pocketbooks do you think that is hurting?

They claim conservatives are conducting a war against minorities, we need to throw the truth back in their faces... 1) The city of Milwaukee, to take one example, has been run by liberals and progressives without interruption for more than 100 years. What is the consequence of this century of progressive rule? a) Milwaukee's median household income is forty percent below the rest of the country. b) The black unemployment rate is 27%, three times the national average for everyone. c) 30% of Milwaukee's population - a third of which is black and Hispanic - lives below the poverty line. d) A third of Milwaukee's public school children drop out before they graduate, while those who do graduate are barely literate. That what progressive policies achieve. ... p.26-37

Conservatives need to put the human disasters of progressive reforms in front of people every chance they get.... Conservatives need to talk less to the voters' heads and more to their hearts, less about budgets and more about the suffering progressive programs cause....

Conservatives need to speak as champions of the underdogs, whose lives are being steadily constricted by the ongoing destruction of a system that once afforded more opportunity for more people than any other in the history of the world....

Detroit is a city Democrat progressives have run as a political monopoly for 52 years.... Nearly half of Detroit's population is either unemployed or no longer looking for work. Its poverty level is 36 percent or more than twice that of Michigan as a whole. Over a third of its inhabitants are on food stamps. The median household income of its citizens is $28,000 - roughly half the median income of the citizens of Michigan or the United States.... Detroit currently owes $14 billion in long-term debt, primarily driven by unfunded government union pension and retirement healthcare obligations, a product of the left's stranglehold on municipal officials....

In 1960, just before the left took over, Detroit was the fourth largest city population-wise in America with nearly 2 million inhabitants. Today two-thirds of its population is gone... All of these woes are predictable products of the anti-individual, anti-business outlooks of progressives and liberals, socialist whose political home is the Democratic Party.

The future of Detroit is predictable bleak. Three out of every four of Detroit's children are born out of wedlock. Statistically speaking, a child raised in a single parent female-headed household is six times more likely to be poor than a child raised in a two-parent family regardless of race or other circumstances. A third of Detroit's school children don't graduate and nearly half of those who do are functionally illiterate.

The government of every major inner city in America have been 100% controlled by Democrat socialists for decades - and often for as much as 100 years. So here's the strategy, remembering that the best defense is a good offense: ATTACK THE LEFT - THE DEMOCRATS AND PROGRESSIVES - FOR THEIR WARS AGAINST MINORITIES AND THE POOR." pages 26-37

PREVENTING OUR NATION'S SUICIDE # 2

  PREVENTING OUR NATION'S SUICIDE # 2
        In pursuit of the truth - http://www.cinopsbegoneblogspot.com - Monday, September 15, 2014

We continue with excerpts from the book America - Imagine a World without Her - by Dinesh D'Souza. As a nation we are living in the twilight zone. Help Dinesh and each other to save America from the suicide and subversion of traditional American values. We become a kind of Obama's European American.

" In this book, I (Dinesh) intend to refute the progressive critique and provide a new understanding of what America means and why America is worth preserving. I will examine the historical critique by asking a simple question: As a result of the events of American history, are the people on the bottom better off or worse off?

In other words, are the native Indians today better off or worse because of the arrival of Columbus and Western civilization? Are blacks today better or worse because their ancestors were hauled here as slaves? Are Mexicans who now live on the American side of the border better or worse than Mexicans whose land was conquered during the Mexican War? This is a way of examining history by considering its current impact.

I also intend to argue that America invented something new in the world. There are very few truly world-changing inventions. Fire is one of them. The wheel is another. The invention of agriculture is a third. In this book I will show that America is a society based upon perhaps the most important invention of all time: the invention of wealth creation.

For most of human history, wealth, wealth was presumed to be  finite. Consider a boy on the playground with ten marbles. How can he get more marbles? There is only one way. He has to take someone else's marbles. In the same way, wealth was mostly in land and the only way to get land was to take it. Conquest, in other words, was the natural mode of human acquisition...

Recognizing that conquest had been the universal ethic, America developed a new ethic, the ethic of wealth creation. America is founded on the understanding that wealth can be created through innovation and enterprise. Through the system of technological capitalism, we can go from ten marbles to twenty marbles without taking anyone's marbles.

Obviously there were  inventors and merchants around before America. But America is the first society to be based on invention and trade. America is the capitalist society par excellence. I will show how this new system of wealth creation is fair and just, how it produces a better life for little guys in America and around the world. I will not shy away from addressing the progressive arguments that earning is itself exploitation, that profits are plunder, and that America's global actions are a disguised form of thievery.

I intend to turn the progressive critique on its head. I will demonstrate that the progressives are the real thieves, in that they use the power of the state to seize property and possessions of people who have earned them. In the name of ordinary citizens, the progressives have declared war on wealth creators... their policies lead to stagnation, impoverishment, indebtedness, and decline - all in evidence. (Any other U.S. President would be ashamed to have fifty million U.S. citizens on food stamps. ghk) ...

Most recently, in order to quell dissent, the progressives are implementing a chilling policy of national surveillance and selective prosecution - using the power of the police to harass and subdue their opposition. Ultimately what the progressives seek is a suicide of national identity, a dissolution of the American era. This involves not merely a diminution of America but a diminution of Americans.

I intend to blow the whistle on these people, starting with Obama and continuing with Hillary Clinton and the whole progressive menagerie. Once the ordinary American understands how moral terms have been inverted, and how he is being conned by self styled partisans, he will rise up and repudiate his new oppressors who are none other than his old oppressors under a new name." ...
