RESTORING GOD'S GLORY

BY POPE EMERITUS BENEDICT XVI, CO-WORKERS OF THE TRUTH, IGNATIUS PRESS, SAN FRANCISCO, 1992

"The biblical shalom (peace) which is usually so translated, implies much more the absence of armed conflict, it means the right order of human affairs, well-being - a world where trust and friendship prevail, where neither fear nor want nor treachery nor dishonesty is found.

Yet the son of the angels first lays down a precondition , without which there can be no lasting peace: God's glory. This is the message of peace at Bethlehem: peace among men resulting from God's glory. ...

It is a public affair. It is a common good, and wherever God is not honored among men, there man as well will not remain honorable. The reason why Christmas affects the peace of man lies in this:because it has restored God's glory among men."  Meditation December 29th.

"This Child is God's Son", as one of our old Christmas carols has it... He has established a union with man so inseparable that this man truly is God from God, light from light, and yet always true man as well.

The meaning of the world has come to us in such a real way that it can be touched and seen... This meaning is a message, addressed us. This meaning is not some general principle, in which we might play a certain part. No, it addresses each one of us personally. It is itself a Person: the living God's own son, born in stable in Bethlehem."  Meditation December 30th.

O Lord, my chosen portion and my cup:

You hold my lot in your hands (Ps 16:5)

"The pagan world view was also familiar with the image of the lots, but with entirely different premises: the world is a game of luck governed by one rule - blind chance. Time,  altogether blind, spews out the lots, of this kind and that.

The Bible has fundamentally transformed this frightening image. Indeed, there is a cup with the lots, containing winners and losers. But this cup with the lots is held "in your hands", in the hands of eternal Wisdom and eternal Love. This is the indispensable premise that alone can provide for man any hope at all.

Because the cup is in his hands, the only losing lot would be the refusal to accept at all the lot from His hands.  ... In your hands, there rest my temples. Thus an image arises of ourselves entrusting our head, our temples, to God's good hands.  ... - into the hands of eternal Wisdom, which is eternal Love and so our only true Hope. And so, we put this new year, the new time and our future, into the hands of God: Lord, do accept us, and grant us your blessing!" ... December 31st

The Ant and the Grasshopper
Love the truth - http://www.cinopsbegoneblogspot.com - Holy Innocent Martyrs- Sat. Dec. 28/13

Nicholas Wishek has a great article in the Orange County Register, Decision Time for America, What kind of Nation do we want to be? Thursday, December 26, 2013, Opinion Section.

GHK: The religion of secularism has been relentless in its attack on traditional America. Personally, they are at war with my America. Mine is a legal immigrant's point of view. I chose to be an American not a French European American. That is what President Obama wants to change us into.   The progressives are also using psychological warfare and doing their best to promote the grasshopper American in our country.

A normal Presidency would be embarrassed in promoting 47 million people on food stamps and lowering the eligibility for getting welfare and lifetime disability insurance. What we have is a lying Presidency who sold us Obamacare which is a fraud. Have we also become a nation of liars and believers in lies? Our nation was built by hardworking ants and not grasshoppers.

Here are Nicholas Wishek excerpts from his article:
"Social progressives are dedicated to transforming us into a nation of grasshoppers. For the best of humanitarian reasons, liberals want big government to protect people from their own mistakes.

The problem, as long as we are dusting off hoary cliches, is that giving a man a fish feeds him for a day, but teaching a man to fish feeds him for a lifetime. Liberals don't seem to grasp this concept.

Traditional-minded Americans want a much smaller, less intrusive government that encourages people to behave more responsively. And they want a government that rewards those who work hard and make sound choices.

This basic disagreement should be debated in the court of public opinion as fairly and even-handedly as possible, but it isn't. As Charles Krauthammer wrote, "Liberals think conservatives are evil." This makes honest discourse difficult at best.

Consider the kinds of accusations progressives throw at conservatives, especially those identified as members of the Tea Party... conservatives want the needy left to suffer or die, children go hungry and allow unfettered capitalism to exploit the middle class. This is not reasoned dialogue aimed to resolve differences.

Conservative have no objection to a safety net for those in dire circumstance through no fault of their own. They just don't want that net to become a web trapping Americans into a lifetime of dependency. By using government to protect people from their own poor judgment or work ethic liberals have condemned some families to generational welfare... by rewarding parents' poor choices children grow up expecting government largesse as a way of life.

Tax dollars collected at the expense of penalizing those who work hard and make responsible decisions are what pays for this largesse. That discourages effort. Liberals should ask what will happen to the grasshoppers when they are not enough ants left to provide for them.

Another question liberals should ask is why they believe government is so much better than private enterprise and individuals at making decisions? What government program runs efficiently? Compare UPS to the Post Office. Or, better yet, Amazon.com's web site to the Affordable Care Act's. A big problem conservatives have with taxes is that just that taxes are too high, but government wastes so much...."

The Word Became Flesh

By Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI*

" The Word became flesh. Alongside this Johannine truth there has to be put also the Marian truth as rendered by Luke. God has become flesh. This is not only an immensely great and remote happening, it something very close and human. God became a child who needed a mother.

He became a child, someone born with tears on his cheeks, whose first utterance is a cry for help, whose first gesture consists in outreached hands searching for protection. God became a child.

Nowadays we also hear it being said, in contrast that this, after all, would be nothing but a sentimentality better put aside. Yet the New Testament thinks differently.

For the faith of the Bible and the Church, it is important that God desired to be such a creature who had to depend on a mother, on the sheltering love of humans.

He wished to independent in order to awaken in us love that purifies and redeems. God became a child, and every child is dependent.

To be a child thus contains already theme of the search for shelter, the elementary motif of Christmas. And how many variations has this motif seen in our history!

In our days we experience this anew and in disturbing ways: the child knocks on the doors of our world. The child is knocking. This search for shelter is profound.

There is indeed an atmosphere of hostility towards children, but this is not preceded by an attitude that altogether bars any child from entering this world because there would be no more room for him? The child knocks.

If we were to receive him we are to rethink thoroughly our own attitude to human life. Here we are dealing with fundamentals, with our very concept of what it means to be human: to live in grandiose selfishness or in confident freedom that knows its vocation to be united in love, to be free to accept one another."

Merry Christmas,

The Silence in Christmas
By Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI*

"Silence means to develop an inner sensitivity, a sensitivity for our conscience, for the eternal within us, and an openness for God speaking to us. The dinosaurs are said to have become extinct because their development went in the wrong direction:

Plenty of armor plate and little brain, plenty of muscle and little sense. Are we not also about to develop in the wrong direction: plenty of technology but little soul? a thick armor plate of material expertise but an emptied heart? dearth of the ability to perceive God's voice in us, to recognize and acknowledge what is good and beautiful and true.

Christmas beckons us to enter into God's silence; and his mystery remains unknown to so many because they cannot find the silence in which God is active. How can we find it?  Absence of words alone does not yet produce it. For a person may well remain silent outwardly, while inside he is completely torn apart by the restlessness of so many things.

A person may well be silent, yet there is a frightening noise inside of him. To enter into silence means: to discover a new inner order. It means to concentrate not only on things that can be defined and demonstrated. I*t means to gaze not only on things that have worldly value and can be traded.

Is it no high time for an adjustment in our "evolutionary" course? Such an adjustment, of course, can hardly consist in some misguided rejection of human work and the cultivation of the earth. It has to consist in restoring the moral and religious sense to its rightful place in man.

Silence as demanded by faith, consists in this: that the human person be not totally be not totally absorbed and managed by the systems of our commercial and technical civilization.

We have to recognize anew that between science and superstition there exists a reality in the middle - a deeper moral and religious insight, which alone wards off superstition and make man truly human by keeping him exposed to the light of God. From: Lob der Weihmacht, pp. 30f.

What is faith? It is the confident assurance that we hope for is going to happen. It is the evident of things we cannot yet see. God gave his approval to people in days of old because of their faith.

By faith we understand that the entire universe was formed at God's command, that what we now see did not come from anything that can be seen.

It was by faith that Abel brought a more acceptable offering to God than Cain did. God accepted Abel's offerings to show that he was a righteous man...

It was by faith that Noah built an ark to save his family from the flood. He obeyed God, who warned him about something about never that had happened before. By his faith he condemned the rest of the world and was made right in God's sight.

It was by faith that Abraham obeyed when God called him to leave home and go to another land that God would give him as his inheritance. He went without knowing where he was going...

It was by faith that Sarah together with Abraham was able to have a child, even though they were too old and Sarah was barren. Abraham believed that God would keep his promise...

It was by faith that Abraham offered Isaac as a sacrifice when God was testing him. Abraham, who had received God's promises, was ready to sacrifice his only son Isaac, ...

It was by faith that Moses parents hid for three  months. They saw that God had given them an unusual child, and they were not afraid of what the king might do.

It was by faith that Moses, when he grew up, refused to be treated as the son of Pharaoh's daughter...

It was by faith that the people of Israel marched around Jericho seven days, and the walls came crashing down....

 Throw Them All Out!
Truth is the most powerful weapon. http://www.cinopsbegone.org - Tuesday, December 17, 2013
Commentary: The President of the United States lied to us about Obamacare. This was a fraudulent sales pitch. In a normal America, President Barack Obama would be forced to resign. Truth must prevail. However with a manufactured media celebrity President Barack Obama  is given a pass. The end does not justify the means. Do we want to live in a Twilight  Zone of lies and corruption?

I GOT THIS LETTER IN THE MAIL. ---Throw Them all Out! --- From the Desk of Peter Schweizer
Dear Friend:

I spent two years researching and writing Throw Them All Out!, the book that exposed the scandal of insider stock trading by powerful ... and corrupt ... members of both political parties.

After my book received widespread media coverage, including a blockbuster story on 60 minutes, both Houses of Congress moved with amazing partisan speed to act on legislation to outlaw such insider trading where members of Congress use information they obtain in the course of their work to profit on the stock market.

I am glad that my book caused such a stir and forced the politicians on Capitol Hill to take action. But I knew that monitoring, exposing and publicizing the corrupt behavior of members of Congress takes more than a book ... even a book that creates as much impact as my Throw Them All Out!

That is why I am such a fan of Judicial Watch.

Day in and Day out for the past 18 years, Judicial Watch* has brought its powerful combination of investigative and legal resources to bears on the persistent problem of corruption in Washington DC. Just like me, Judicial Watch is conservative and not partisan. It comes down just as hard on corrupt Republican politicians as it does on corrupt Democrats.

Judicial Watch shares my belief in open and transparent government, which is under unprecedented assault in Washington today. As an American citizen and as someone with great appreciation for the important work they do, I want to thank you for your financial support of Judicial Watch... I strongly encourage you to help this great and vitally important organization do its work on behalf of the American people.

Sincerely,
Peter Schweizer
* I (George H. Kubeck) have been a member of Judicial Watch for almost 18 years.

P.S. "Judicial Watch is your government watchdog in Washington - the largest and most effective in the country. And as a non-profit organization we rely entirely on individual donors like you... especially not as Barack Obama and his secretive, radical team wield power. To date, we have launched more than 1,150 Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests, and prosecuted more than 120 lawsuits against the Obama administration to hold it accountable under the law.

 The President Lied to Us
Truth is a powerful weapon. http://www.cinopsbegoneblogspot.com - Our Lady of Guadeloupe, Thursday, December 12, 2013
This article by Senior Catholic Writer Phyllis Schalfly*

"If you like your health insurance you can keep it period." Those words will haunt Barack Obama through the remainder of his term and probably achieve eternal life in books of memorable quotations.

Obama's words will levy even more contemporary embarrassment and political immortality than George H. W. Bush's "Read my lips. No new taxes," or Bill Clinton's "I did not have sexual relations with that woman." ...

Obama's famous line is worse than the others because it was a gross lie about something that matters to millions of Americans and costs them lots of money. His line is also unforgettable  because he repeated it so many times(37 times according to PolitiFact) and because his staff knew it was a lie when they put it on the TelePrompTer and notepad for Obama to read.

To compound his contempt for the American people, Obama's so-called apology was not an apology at all. It was a bunch of soft-cell words to enable his media sycophants to pretend it was an apology.

Now Obama is trying to cover his tracks by revising what he said. His revision of this promise is that you can keep your health insurance, but it must be a better plan.

"Better"of course, means it must cover more medical conditions and services that you don't want or need, such as pregnancy for men and women over age 50, anti-addiction therapies, and the new mandate to give equal coverage to mental problems.

Contrary to reports by the media, Obama did not apologize for lying to the American people. He did not say he is sorry for lying to us. He said he is "sorry" that some people find themselves in "situation" based on his "assurances" that were "not a clear as we needed to be." ...

The American public is left with an Obamacare website that does not work and has become fodder for late-night comedy routines. The District of Columbia signed up only five Obamacare enrollees for the month of October, at an average cost to the taxpayer of $26.7 million apiece. For the 26.7 million, an individual could receive a valuable amount of medical care. Instead, under Obamacare, the American public is receiving little more than frustration bureaucracy and broken promises...

Now we find that a doctor shortage is threatening to make the rollout of Obamacare even more difficult. Obama added another very "clear" statement when he spoke to the American Medical Association on June 15, 2009. "No matter how we reform health care, we will keep this promise to the American people: If you like your doctor, you will be able to keep your doctor. Period. If you like your health care plan, you will be able to keep your health care plan, Period. No one will take it away, no matter what. "Obama's lie about medical insurance nestles firmly in his administration's pattern of deception about other issues. His push for annesty is also encrusted with lies.

Start with the repeated promise that any annesty deal will include closing the border to future illegals. Those promises have been repeated for years, and the administration obviously has no intention of closing the border to illegal entrants.

Congress passed the Secure Fence Act of 2006 by 283 to 138 in the House and 80 to 19 in the Senate Knowing of the bill's overwhelming popularity, President George W. Bush invited the press to photograph him signing the bill, and we cheered the photo-up. The most interesting part of the Secure Fence Act is that this overwhelmingly popular law was never funded. So, therefore, why is it so difficult to refuse funding the most unpopular law in our time, Obamacare?"

Advent: St. Nicholas a.k.a. Santa Claus
In pursuit of the truth - http://www.cinopsbegoneblogspot.com - Saturday, December 7, 2013

"If you were in the streets yesterday and today you certainly met him frequently - him being Saint Nicholas, dressed more or less correctly as a bishop, and surely never without the flowing white beard typical of his pictures since the eight century.

"More or less bishop like is what these figures of St. Nicholas say and do; often they act in boogeymen rather than representing the saint's love told in legends in many variations. Precisely who was he in historical fact?

"Tradition has always identified Saint Nicholas with the bishop Nicholas who was a participant at the council of Nicaea and who, together with that first great assembly of bishops, formulated the profession of faith in the true divinity of Christ.

"From a different angle the most ancient source about Nicholas leads us into the same direction. Nicholas is one of the first of those venerated as saints without being martyrs.

"During the time when Christians were persecuted, those who resisted the power of the pagan state and in defense of their faith pledged their very lives were spontaneously looked upon as the guiding lights of the Faith.

"One of the sacred legends aptly states that all kinds of miracles could also be repeated by sorcerers and demons, and so they would remain ambiguous. One thing only would be totally unambiguous and not open to any deception; to practice goodness a whole life long; to live the Faith and hold fast to love in the common affairs of every day.

"The people of the fourth century experience this miracle in Nicholas, and all the other miracle stories, invented by later legends...

Excerpts from a homily:
"The Trinity is gazing down on humanity. They decide that the Son will become a man. If we gaze upon humanity what do we see.... Last week we saw the celebration of a vast sea of consumerism and a stampede, fighting over the purchase of special sales.... God looks down upon us with mercy and compassion looking  beyond materialism... That was the first Sunday of Advent ... Jesus in among the vast ocean of humanity...
"Advent is about embracing the darkness and looking for the light of Jesus... If we have the eyes to see... You have to be able to recognize that life on this earth is meaningless. However, there is something in life. It is Jesus Christ that gives us meaning in life... Jesus entered the world and gives purpose, embracing the darkness at the same time... It is the finding the light of Jesus in the darkness...
"The mystery of God stepping into the darkness and Jesus Christ entering this world bringing life and the ultimate is God himself...
"Advent is about embracing the darkness our humanity is at the same time finding the light of Jesus... Advent is the season to celebrate the Incarnation... Our whole life is one long Advent... Let us live out that reality." Excerpts from Co-Workers of the Truth, Cardinal Ratzinger, Med., Dec. 6/13

George Washington concluded his first Inaugural Address:
"No people can be bound to acknowledge and adore the invisible hand which conducts the affairs of men more than the people of the United States. Every step which they have advanced to the character of an independent nation seems to have been distinguished by some token of providential agency... We ought to be no less persuaded that the propitious smiles of Heaven can never be expected on a nation that disregards the eternal rules of order and right, which Heaven itself has ordained"

The Gospel according to Saul Alinsky
In pursuit of the truth - cinops be gone - Friday, September 13, 2013

What is it about the writings of Saul Alinsky that captures the beliefs of not only our President Barack Obama but also Hillary Clinton and even a CINOP MSNBC Talk Show Host.

I wish you could read the writings of ex-communist David Horowitz. His Freedom Center has a booklet titled, Barack Obama's "Rules for Revolution, The Alinsky Model" will help you understand this unknown President of ours. Here are some excerpts from pages 18-21.

"In The 18th Brumaire, Marx himself summed up the radical's passion by invoking a comment of Goethe's Mephistopheles: "Everything that exist deserves to perish." ...

"The many names of Satan are also a model for the way radicals camouflage their agendas by calling themselves at different times Communists, socialists, new lefties, liberals, social justice activists and most consistently progressives....

"Alinsky's tribute to Satan as the first radical is further instructive because it reminds us that the radical illusion is an ancient one and has not changed through the millennia. Recall how Satan tempted God and Eve to destroy their paradise: If you will rebel against God's command the "You shall be as gods." This is the radical hubris" We can create a new world. Through our political power we can make a new race of men and women who will live in harmony and peace and according to the principles of social justice. We can be as gods....

"The Jacobin attempt to liquidate Catholics and their faith was the precursor of Lenin's destruction of 100,000 churches in the Soviet Union to purge Russia of reactionary ideas. The "Temple of Reason" was replicated by the Bolsheviks' creation of "People's Church" whose mission was to usher in the "worker's paradise." This mission led to the murder not of 40,000 as in the Vendee, but 40 million before its merciful collapse - with progressives cheering its progress and mourning its demise.

"The radical fantasy of an earthly redemption takes many forms, with similar results:
*The chimera of "sexual liberation" caused leftists to condemn and ban the proven public health methods for combating AIDS - testing and contact tracing - as "homophobic," leading directly to the preventable deaths of more than 300,000 gay men in the prime of life.
* The crusade to rid mankind of the scourge of DDT, which was launched in the 1960s by the American environmentalist Rachel Carson, led to a global ban on the use of DDT and the return of malaria. This has resulted in the deaths of 100 million children, mainly black Africans under the age of five.
#The left's campaign to build a welfare utopia under the umbrella of the "Great Society" destroyed the inner city black family, spawned millions of fatherless black children, and created intractable poverty and a violent underclass which  is still with us."

First Sunday in Advent*

In the thirteenth chapter of the letter Saint Paul wrote to the Christians in Rome he says, "The hour has come ... the night is far spent, day is near. Let us therefore cast aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light.

Let us conduct ourselves honorably as in daylight, not in revelries and drunkenness, without lewdness and debauchery, without quarrels and dissension. No, put on the Lord Jesus Christ ..."

Advent, accordingly means to get up, to be awake, to rise from the sleep! What is St. Paul trying to say? What he means by "night" he expresses clearly through terms such as "revelries, drunkenness, lewdness and quarrels."

The nighttime orgy with everything it implies is for him a representation of man in darkness, man asleep. It serves him as an image of the pagan world as such, a world drowning in materialism, persisting in the darkness of its blindness to the truth, and half asleep in spite of all its loud and hectic activity, because it ignores the essentials of our vocations as human.

The nocturnal orgy of world gone wrong - are  we not compelled to realize, with dismay, how accurately St. Paul describes here our own times as well, times that are sliding back into  paganism?

To rise from sleep - this means to rise from conformity with such a world and with such times, courageous in virtue, courageous in faith to shake off the dream that prevents us from recognizing our vocation and our highest potential.

The songs of Advent, which we hear ever so often during these weeks, could perhaps become for us a beacon of light that show us the way and make us lift up our eyes to acknowledge promises so much greater than those base on money, power, and pleasure.

To be awake for God and for our neighbor - this is the meaning of the Advent call to stay wake. Such staying awake finds the light and makes the world a brighter place.

* DECEMBER 1ST MEDITATION FROM "CO-WORKERS OF THE TRUTH" BY JOSEPH CARDINAL RATZINGER, IGANTIUS, 1992

This is not a Happy Fourth of July
In pursuit of the truth - cinops be gone - July 3rd, 2013

For our nation this is not a Happy Fourth of July. There are serious consequences to recent Supreme Court decisions and the death culture overwhelming our society. False causes are on the move. However,  "We recognize our duty - to defend innocent life - to uphold natural marriage - to maintain religious freedom. It is a duty, so help us God, we will fulfill."

In America, political correctness has evolved into the promotion of a culture of death values which I will list in other letters. Political correctness has become a two-faced monster promoting the philosophy of secular progressivism, a false national secular religion which is also unconstitutional.

Sadly, if you want to change the definition of marriage, it follows that you can change the  definition of everything; the 10 commandments, truth, common sense and natural law.

Today's meditation in Benedict XVI's book "Co-Workers of the Truth" hits the nail on the head.

"In his Letter to the Romans, the Apostle Paul found himself confronted with precisely this question. The Apostle's answer to the metaphysical and moral cynicism of a decadent society ruled only by the law of power is astounding. He asserts that in reality they know about God: "... What can be known about God is plain to them" (Rom 1:19)

"He supports his statement by pointing out that "Ever since the  creation of the world his [God's] eternal power and divine nature, invisible though they are, have been understood and seen through the things he has made" (" (Rom 1:20). Paul concludes from this that they are therefore "without excuse" (ibid.)

"The truth was available to them - demands such as the worship of God and the giving of thanks (Rom 1:21) The moral corruption of society is for is for Paul but the logical consequence and the exact mirror-image of its fundamental  perversion.

"When we place our own will, our own pride, our own comfort above the demands of truth, it is inevitable that everything will fall ultimately into decay. God, to whom worship is due, will no longer be worshipped: instead, images, appearances, the prevailing point of view will hold humanity in thrall.

"What is contrary to nature will become the norm; the individual who lives contrary to truth, lives contrary to nature.  His ingenuity will no longer be at the service of what is good, but will be used instead to devise original and artful forms of wickedness.

"The relationship between husband and wife, between parents and children, will be dissolved and the source of life will consequently be thwarted. It will no longer be life that has dominion, but death; a civilization of death will be established (Rom 1:21-32)." GEORGE H. KUBECK

A poignant informative Letter (1 of 2)
In pursuit of the truth - cinops be gone - Wed. July 31, 2013
By Dr. Ronald G. Connolly, Nat. Catholic Register, July 28 - Aug. 10, 2013

"Archbishop Charles Chaput, in his Register interview (page 9, June 30 issue) states, "Religious Liberty depends on Lay Faithful, Not Bishops." However, many Catholics in all walks of life have, over the past 40 years, already experienced the loss of religious liberties, but often their plight was ignored.

"In 1979, I learned the meaning of "pro-choice." At that time, I was a physician in Wilmington, Del. and when I made my "choice" - not to participate in an abortion - it became the sole reason I lost my medical practice, necessitating that my wife, our five children and I move out of the state and start a new life.

"A more complete statement on religious liberty is that it depends on everyone, both laity and bishops, responsibility fulfilling their duty.

"Cardinal Dolan recently said he has never preached on the Sixth commandment for 40 years (and this at a time when our culture was going ballistic over sex.)

"In 1968, public dissent against Humana Vitae was not led by the laity, but by many bishops and theologians. This episcopal dissent on faith and morals has continued unabated for 40-plus years and tells the laity that they also can "pick and choose." Not surprisingly, it was the Catholic vote that placed the current anti-Christian in the White House.

"The moral teachings of the Catholic Church are beautiful, powerful and prophetic.. Yet the great majority of Catholics, while attending Sunday Mass, have never heard a homily on the profound truths of Human Vitae, nor on the irrationality of citing, "equality and freedom of choice" as justification for abortion, artificial contraception and same-sex "marriage."

"Our bishops and priests need to preach and teach on why our culture's sexual immorality is the ultimate destruction of marriage, the family and society. Unfortunately, however, their decades long silence on the Sixth Commandment has effectively marginalized and ghettoized the Church. Is anyone surprised that HHS now mandates artificial contraception?

Honest Journalism is Dead! - 1
In pursuit of the truth - cinops be gone - Monday, August 5, 2012

Sean Hannity coined the above sentence. I am thinking of the New York Times and the mainstream media. How else can you explain the Just and Furious, Benghazi, and the IRS scandals?

If these occurred during a Republican administration that President would have been out of office many months ago. He or she would have been forced to resign or be impeached by both Republican and Democratic legislators.

The mainstream media is unelected, rules and is two-faced. It promotes a leftist agenda and is an evil cover for the Obama presidency. Impeachable lies rule the day. It is like living in a twilight zone. Our nation is on suicide mission.

In 1984 and 1988, Pope Benedict XVI had an interesting comment on journalism. [Meditation, July 26, 27 - Co-Workers of the Truth - Ratzinger, 1992, Ignatius Press]

"Journalism is meaningful only when it helps us to learn the truth. It can be a genuine calling only when there is a truth that is good. Then it is right and necessary to help this truth to find its proper expression. The fundamental certainly that Good does exist and we are created for it is not an obstacle to the work of the journalist, but rather makes it possible. It must be the first pillar of genuine journalistic ethics."

"It is impossible to act rightly without truth. That is why the will to know the truth, seek it humbly and with a readiness to learn it, the world is fragmented into interest groups because profit always depends on the viewpoint of the one acting... what is effective and progressive for society, if it is divorced from the standard of truth, from God, it imperceptibly establishes power as the primary standard of mankind. But truth is superior to human power, it must set the limit and be the standard of all power. Only if it does so can we become free and good. The fact that listening to the truth must precede all our actions means also that the will of God is superior to all our plans and projects.
George H. Kubeck, The culture of death hates the truth.

A Conversation on the Big Divide - 2
In pursuit of the truth - cinops be gone - Saturday, July 20, 2013

Both sides need to listen to Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI who wrote and spoke in 1983 - July 18th meditation, Co-Workers of the Truth. The reader decides whose side Pope Benedict is on.

"To faith belong the readiness to suffer but also the courage to do battle. Granted, we have no lack of people who tell us: Faith should be both protest and resistance against the power of the world.

"But if we look more closely, what such groups really want is, for the most part, an activator, a loudspeaker, for their slogans, for the slogans of their party.

"But it is a totally different matter when the Church opposes the real powers of this age; when the Church condemns the disintegration of marriage, the destruction of the family, the killing of the unborn children, the distortion of the Faith.

"Then suddenly, a Jesus is held up to her who was apparently all mercy, who condoned everything and never harmed anyone. The saying was coined: "One cannot be a Christian at the cost of one's humanity", and people understood it primarily in reference to themselves.

"Being a Christian may perhaps be a pleasant luxury, but must not cost anything. The real Jesus was very different. Certainly he uttered words of great and healing mildness and compassion. But he also uttered quit different words:

"I have not come to bring peace but a sword" (Mt 10:34). He opposed the convenient lie, the easy-going injustice. He exalted the superiority of truth over that merely comfortable getting-along-together that leads ultimately to the power of injustice, to the dominion of the lie.

"For such words, which are written large and shining in history, which established the opposition of truth to the indolence and degradation of humanity, for such words Jesus went to the Cross, a Jesus who merely condoned would not have been crucified."

A Conversation on the Big Divide -1
In pursuit of the truth, cinops be gone, Thursday, July 18, 2013

Participants will include Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI, Andrew Breitbart, Sister Carol Keehan, Cardinal Francis George, Archbishop Charles Chaput and others.

The Issue: Michael Warsaw, "The final rule issued June 28 by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has our legal team and me scratching our heads - because nothing has changed. This HHS rule would still force EWTN [and National Catholic Register] and other Catholic agencies to cover in our health care packages contraception, sterilization and abortion inducing drugs, though the government assured us we wouldn't have to violate our moral stance to supply health care to our employees. The final rule is sorely inadequate.

On one side we have "Sister Carol Keehan, CEO of the Catholic Health Association of the U.S.
She issued a four-page statement on Monday night saying the group's concerns had been met and its members could now participate in the law in good conscience.

On the other side we have Cardinal Timothy Dolan and U.S. Council of Catholic Bishops which said its analysis "has not discovered any new change that eliminates the need to continue defending our rights in Congress and the courts.

On the one side supporters we have liberal and dissenting Catholics in Commonweal and National Catholic Reporter magazines.

On there other side we have Archbishop Charles Chaput who told an audience, "The worst enemies of religious freedom aren't out there among the critics who hate Christ or the Gospel or the Church, or all three. The worst enemies are in here, with us - all of us, clergy, religious and lay - when we live our faith with tepidness, cheap compromises, fear, routine, and hypocrisy."

"It is not the first time faithful Catholics and the CHA have been at loggerheads, Cardinal Francis George, the president of the USCCB, said in 2010 that Sister Keehan was to blame for Obamacare...

A Pro-Life Salute to Texas
In pursuit of the truth - cinops be gone - Feast of Transfiguration, 8/6/13
[FYI - Knights of Columbus - 131st National Convention - San Antonio, Texas - today, Tuesday, Aug. 6-8, on EWTN- www.kofc.org ]

"The House State Affairs Committee last night passed a pro-life bill to ban abortions in the state of Texas after 20 weeks of pregnancy and hold abortion facilities accountable for obeying health and safety standards...

"The bill would ban abortions after 20 weeks and hold abortion clinics accountable by making them meet basic health and safety standards that have closed facilities in other states that are unable to comply. The bill also requires all abortion clinics to meet the same health and safety regulations as an ambulatory surgical center, requires a doctor providing abortions to secure admitting privileges at a nearby hospital, and lastly, requires a doctor to personally administer the abortion-inducing drugs to the patient.

"The hearings saw the halls packed with over 2,100 people wanting to testify on the bill - with most of them pro-life and supporting it... "In terms of witnesses, the system has never seen overload like this," said Rep. Helen Giddings, the vice-chairwoman of the House State Affairs Committee....

"Texas Governor Rick Perry issued a call for a special session of the Texas legislature to pass the bill that a pro-abortion mob prevented the legislature from passing last week.
" I am calling the legislature back into session because too much important work remains undone for the people of Texas... "Texans value life and want to protect women and the unborn...Texans want a court system that is fair and just. We will not allow the breakdown  of decorum and decency to prevent us from doing what the people of this state hired us to do."..."louder [opponents of the bill] scream, the more we know we are getting something done."...

"Said another witness who testified while holding a baby in her arms. "I speak on behalf of the children who will be missed, because they were murdered prior to being born."

George H. Kubeck,
Have you noticed the stark difference between the people of Texas and California? It is a matter of political and religious leadership. The Supreme Knight Carl Anderson believes the Texas standard should be the goal of all states.

Secular Leftist Judges
In pursuit of the truth - cinops be gone - Sunday, August 18, 2013
By Phyllis Schlafly is a lawyer and author of 20 books. email phyllis@eagleforum.org - Westminster Herald, Aug. 15, 2013
Redefining the First Amendment is a core aim of Barack Obama's plan to "fundamentally transform the United States." He is steadily changing the First Amendment's words. "free exercise" of religion, to the much more restricted notion of freedom of worship.

That means he will still accord us our rights to go inside our churches, lock the doors and worship as we please. But with the help of atheist organizations and supremacist judges, Obama is steadily chipping at our constitutional right to "free exercise" in the public places, public events an public schools.

Obama wants to force employers to provide contraception and abortion-inducing drugs to employees not only of churches but also to employees of religious institutions, such as schools, colleges and hospitals, and even to force this mandate on Christian employers who find it contrary to their religious belief. Dozens of lawsuits are now climbing through the judiciary to challenge the mandate...

He (Obama) recently nominated a scary feminist named Nina Pollard to the important D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals. Her extreme views include the wild allegation that abortion is necessary to help "free women from historically routine conscription into maternity." She says that those who oppose Obamacare's contraception-abortion mandate are really reinforcing "broader patterns of discrimination against women as a class of presumptive breeders."...

We hope there are enough  Republicans in the Senate to expose Pillard's paper trail of  extremist feminist writings. Unfortunately, there are already too many judges who consider themselves "supremacists" with the power to resolves questions that should be resolved by the American people, either directly by ballot or through our elected representatives.

The Supreme Court's marriage decision in June proves that supremacy is really how the justices look upon their own vast power to rule us.  The Supreme Court's marriage didn't make same-sex marriage a constitutional right as the liberal media had hoped. But the court did give the homosexuals what many believe is their number-one goal: the hammer to silence their critics.

Justice Anthony Kennedy, writing for the majority in the U.S. v. Windsor, which they declared the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) unconstitutional, base the decision on what he claimed was in the minds of those who opposed same-sex marriage:their bigotry, their "animus" against gays.

Kennedy tried to brand those who oppose same-sex marriage as a hate group, putting them in a category similar to those who irrationally discriminate against various minorities.

Justice Antonin Scalia, joined in his dissent by Justice Clarence Thomas, made clear that the Supreme Court had "no power to decide the case", that "this case is about the power of our people to govern themselves" and that the court's errors come from "the same diseased root: and exalted conception of the role of this institution in America."

Scalia wrote that Kennedy's marriage decision was a "jaw dropping ... assertion of judicial supremacy over the people's Representatives in Congress and the Executive. ... Since Kennedy couldn't show any authority for deciding this case, Justice Scalia wrote that Justice Kennedy resorted to "nonspecific hand-waving" and the accusations that the Congressional authors of  DOMA were motivated by a :bare ... desire to harm a politically unpopular group," and that "only those with hateful hearts could have voted 'aye" on this Act."

Kennedy's decision launched a torrent of accusations. According to Kennedy, the supporters of DOMA acted with malice - with the purpose ... to disparage and to injure same-sex couples, to demean, to "demean" to impose inequality, "to impose ... a stigma", to deny people equal dignity, to brand gay people as unworthy, which supposedly "humiliates" their children.

Scalia and Thomas concluded in their dissent: "We might have let the people decide." But the supremacist justices didn't. By formally declaring anyone opposed to same-sex marriage an enemy of human decency the majority arms well every challenger to a state law restricting marriage to its traditional definition."

It is wrong, unprecedented and insulting to the American people for the Supreme Court Justices to accuse those who defend traditional marriage as being motivated by such hate. Americans certainly do not want to be ruled by a Supreme Court that Abraham Lincoln famously denounced as "that eminent tribunal."

George H. Kubeck,
So we are going to change the two thousand year old definition of marriage for a leftist social and political engineering agenda and try to brainwash all Americans to accept it. Marriage between a husband and wife are the same as same-sex relationships.

Our Founding Principles
In pursuit of the truth - cinops be gone - Friday, August 9, 2013
The Claremont Institute Letter - August 2, 2013

President Obama and today's liberals are trying to bury our founding principles once and for all. Law professor David Strauss said in his 2010 book, aptly titled The Living Constitution, that the text of the Constitution should play "at most, a ceremonial role."

See the power of ideas? This is where the real battle is waged. Issues such Obamacare, excessive government regulation, the national debt, immigration, national security and all policy debates that come up on a daily basis are virtually important. The Claremont Institute weights in on those debates daily...

Do we return to our First Principles ... the ideas of limited government, individual liberty, free markets and a strong national defense? Or do we continue down the path of more government control over all aspects of our lives? That's the debate that will shape the future of America

Our founding documents are full of ideas such as individual liberty, limited government, free markets, a constitutional republic, free speech, the rule of law and many others... if our country is to continue to survive and prosper, it is crucial that we remain true to those ideas... Your support enables Claremont to fight for the ideas that launched America's founding....

Here's what Jonah Goldberg - well respected author, columnist and editor-in-chief of National Review Online - has to say of "Claremont Review of Books."
"It's influence on the conservative movement has been as enormous as it has been unheralded by the mainstream media. Virtually every critique of the Progressive Era in the last ten years in any conservative publication or forum can be traced back to the work of the Claremont Institute, the CRB, and her contributors in one way or another."

Jonah has written extensively on the Progressive Era, including in his best-selling book Liberal Fascism... Over the years, contributors to the Claremont Review included intellectual leaders like William F. Buckley, Jr., Michael Barone, John Bolton, Charles Murray, James Q. Wilson, Sally Pipes, Victor Davis Hanson, Jonah Goldberg and many others.

Michael Barone said, "I read (the Claremont Review of Books) cover to cover, which takes some time because there's a lot of thought-provoking content." George Will remarked, "When I was asked, a few years ago to list my most important reading matter, I put CRB at the top of my list...
And Powerline - a leading Internet blog - said, "Each issue constitutes a virtual education in politics."

Emeritus Pope Benedict XVI on Christianity
In pursuit of the truth - cinops be gone - Tuesday, August 20, 2013

Christianity is not a philosophical speculation; it is not a construction of the intellect. Christianity in not "our" work, it is a revelation, a message that has been given us, and we have no right to reconstruct it as we wish.

Consequently we are not authorized to change Our Father to Our Mother. The symbolism used by Jesus is not reversible.

It is based on Man-God relationship that he came to reveal to us. It is even less permissible to replace Christ by some other persona.

But what radical feminism - even at times which claims to be based on Christianity - is not willing to accept is this: the exemplary, universal, and unchangeable relationship between Christ and the Father.

In fact, I am convinced that what feminism promotes in it radical form in no longer Christianity as we know it but an entirely different religion.

I am also convinced (we began to see the deep foundation of the biblical standpoint) that the Catholic Church and the Eastern churches will defend their faith and their understanding of the priesthood  and they will thereby defend in reality both men and women in their totality as well as in their irreversible differentiation into male and female and consequently, their irreducibility to a mere function or role.

There applies here as well what I shall  never weary of repeating: for the Church, the language of nature ( in this instance, two sexes that are complementary to, yet distinct from, one another) is also the language of  morality (man and woman are called to destinies that are equally noble and equally eternal yet at the same time different from one another.).

Cardinal Leonardo Sandri Appeals For End of Violence in Egypt
Prefect of the Congregation for Eastern Churches Calls For Dialogue and Reconciliation
By Junno Arocho Esteves
VATICAN CITY, August 23, 2013 (Zenit.org) - In an interview with L’Osservatore Romano, Cardinal Leonardo Sandri, the Prefect of the Congregation for Eastern Churches, called for an end to the continuing violence in Egypt.
“The Congregation for the Eastern Churches is following, with great concern, the terrible situation in Egypt, shares in Pope Francis' prayers for the victims and those who continue to suffer the severe consequences of the ongoing bloody conflict in the Egyptian community,” Cardinal Sandri said in a statement. The Cardinal also joined Pope Francis’ appeal for “dialogue and reconciliation that will lead to restoring civil peace, resuming social life, and reconstructing the areas affected by the events”.
Recently hundreds of Christian churches have been looted, burned or desecrated in attacks by supporters of the Muslim Brotherhood, who are protesting the ouster of former President Mohamed Morsi. Fighting on both sides of the conflict has resulted in hundreds of deaths across the country.
Cardinal Sandri also expressed his “fraternal closeness” to the Coptic Orthodox Patriarch of Alexandria, Tawadros II, as well as to the members of the Catholic Coptic Churches, the Eastern Catholic Churches, and the Churches of the Latin Rite in Egypt.
“May the Lord support them in such a difficult trial of the entire nation. He comforts those who suffer in body and spirit, especially the innocent, and embraces the many victims with his peace. Their tears are the tears of all Eastern Churches throughout the world,” Cardinal Sandri’s statement read.
The Prefect of the Congregations for Eastern Churches encouraged the people of Egypt to not lose hope that one day Egypt will have a “fruitful spring of humanity and freedom.” Cardinal Sandri also appealed for the safeguarding the dignity of all in Egypt, as well as for a “mutual understanding between Christians and Muslims.”
“May all Egyptians be aided without discrimination by the international community in finding means of peaceful coexistence. May peace, education, health, housing and all that is necessary for a human life be guaranteed to each person,” he said.
Concluding his statement, Cardinal Sandri echoed the Holy Father’s words, who he said “prays and suffers for Egypt. “[I entrust] Egypt and all of its inhabitants to the Holy Family, who fled to the land, which has over the centuries been considered blessed and holy for its hospitality to the Redeemer,” Cardinal Sandri concluded.

Honest Journalism is Dead - 1

In pursuit of the truth - cinops be gone- Memorial of St. Rose of Lima, Friday, Aug. 23, 2013

The truth is our most powerful weapon. How do you deal with dishonest journalism in the mainstream media? I do not accept it as normal. It is just the way it has always been.

I believe both Dennis Prager and Rush Limbaugh  think we must put with it. I beg to disagree.

This time around it must be exposed and destroyed. (delenda est). Dishonest journalism is not elected by the American people. It is two-faced and has a double standard. It is the propaganda arm of leftism and liberalism in America.

It is directly and indirectly the mouthpiece of the Obama regime and any Hillary  Clinton administration. It is a kind of social engineering which are alien to American values and our Constitution. Why should we put up with it?

It is destroying America. It is to America what the Pravda propaganda machine was to Russia and the Goebbels propaganda was to Germany.

There are many exceptions to dishonest journalism; writers and leaders in America. Ben Carson is calling for common sense and logic. These two ideas are really not part of the leftist mindset.

The leftist use political correctness as a handicap to implement ideas that are historically intellectually and morally deficient and not worthy of a great nation.

The elite have betrayed America. They are cowards to common sense and logic.

Congress Should Veto Obama's War
In pursuit of the truth - cinops be gone - Tuesday, August 27, 2013
BY PATRICK J. BUCHANAN
"Congress does not have a whole lot of core responsibilities," said Barack Obama last week in an astonishing remark.

For in the Constitution, Congress appears as the first branch of government. And among its enumerative power to tax, coin money, create courts, provide for the common good, raise and support an army, maintain a navy and declare war. But then, perhaps Obama's contempt is justified.

For consider Congress' broad assent to news that Obama has decided to attack Syria, a nation that has not attacked us and against which Congress has never authorized a war.

Why is Obama making plans to launch cruise missiles on Syria? ... Assad used chemical weapons on his own people last week in the two-year-old Syrian civil war.

But who deputized the U.S. to walk the streets of the world pistol-whipping bad actors. Where does our imperial president come off drawing 'red lines' and ordering nations not to cross them.

Neither the Security Council nor Congress nor NATO nor the Arab League has authorized war on Syria. Who made Barack Obama the Wyatt Earp or the Global Village.

Moreover, where is the evidence that WMDs were used and that it had to Assad who ordered them? Such an attack on Syria makes no sense... Why did the U.S. so swiftly dismiss Assad's offer to have U.N. Inspectors - already in Damascus investigating old charges he or the rebels used poison gas - or go to the site of the latest incidence... Do we not want to know the truth? ...

GEORGE H. KUBECK,

An Unhappy Labor Day Weekend - 2 of 2
In pursuit of the truth - cinops be gone - Labor Day Monday, Sept. 2, 2013

We finish Mark Lansbaum's great article in the Orange County Register, Saturday, August 31, 2013, "Paying for Years of Denigrating value of Work."

"After five decades of a government waging a "war on poverty," poverty is winning; at 16.1 percent it is higher than when the war began, in the 1960s.

"It seems Washington is intent on expanding the ranks of the impoverished and government reliant, rather than the ranks of full-time workers and the self-reliant.

"In Obama's first four years, an average of 11,000 persons a day were added to food stamp rolls, which now incredibly, include more than 47 million Americans.*

"What is it about America's contemporary make-up that has reduced the number of start-up jobs per 1,000 from 10.8 to ll.3 for the preceding three presidents to Obama's meager 7.8 jobs per 1,000?

"Could the reason be, as the 2012 Heritage Index of Dependence on Government observed, that 63.7 million Americans received either Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, Social Security or support for higher education? That was 8 percent more than in the previous year.

"The Wall Street Journal found 49 percent of Americans lived in a household where at least one family member received a government benefit. The Obama administration increased how much money the government gives directly to people by 32 percent.

"The Protestant work ethic has steadily eroded. The void is filled by government reliance. How many Americans expect to pay their own way for retirement health care? How widespread is celebration of fewer work hours.

"Rather than focus on labor's inherent worthiness, these movement increasing focus on free time, prosperity and security...." #

George H. Kubeck,

* Any other U.S. President would be ashamed of these facts. They would have economic policies that would create jobs not welfare or deliberately attempt to change traditional American values.

# We have been sold a false bill of goods. Recklessly mortgaging  our children's future and without a change of leadership we will have an economic collapse in our lifetime.
