Thoughts on the Film "America"
In pursuit of the truth - http://www.cinopsbegoneblogspot.org - Sun. July 20/14
I saw the film about ten days ago. What comes to mind? I agree with Dinesh 100%. Furthermore, I believe we need to organize a society of "Legal Immigrants United." I was 27 when I crossed the border legally in 1958 from Canada.
If it wasn't for America, we would all be talking either German or Russian as our second language. The other day, I tried to buy Dinesh D'Zousa's book "America" and it was sold out at Barnes and Noble.
But I did purchase Ben Carson's book, "One Nation." As our next President or Vice-President, Ben can undo the harm done by President Obama to Black Americans and the nation during his eight years in Office.
When I joined the U.S. Army in 1958 for three years it was not my intention to become an Obama-European-American. It is sad that we have so many uninformed Americans. I was blessed to study at Pepperdine College in Los Angeles and receive and M.A. in U.S. History in 1969.
It is a national and U.S.A. Catholic Church tragedy that a majority of so-called Catholic voters voted for Obama in 2008 and 2012. (Once you set aside an Aquinas or Dominican perspective on and about Sol Alinsky and Barrack Obama, the church establishment got screwed up and is still enduring that mindset.)
One couldn't help but love America. Also, America was a different country from all other countries in the world. We have the Founding Fathers,The Declaration of Independence and the Constitution.
However, within the country, we had quite a number of American lefties who believed that the Communist system was a choice made by the Russian and Cuban people. They believed the lie. We called them fellow travelers or useful idiots. Many remained idiots even after the collapse of Communism in Russia.
A number of these idiots morphed and attached themselves to the progressive movement and today own the once great John Kennedy Democratic party. In all future elections the Democratic Party should be called the Progressive Party.
We discovered that during World War 2, we had Communist spies within the U.S. Government. The most famous was Alger Hiss. I watched the details of this spy case closely on TV. The Alger Hiss case and the book by Whittaker Chambers, "Witness" persuaded me to support Richard Nixon for President in 1960. Nixon was already smeared & hated by so-called liberals. I saw that as a badge of honor.
I was Gun-Ho for Nixon when he ran for President in 1968. Spent many hours in publishing a large booklet of 33 pages titled, "Why Mr. Nixon in '68." - Series of 14 Letters - (Feb. 1967 -March 1968) - By George H. Kubeck - Cost 50 cents. It would be a good idea to do something similar for Ben Carson. "Why Mr. Carson M.D. in '16."
George H. Kubeck
