  I TRAVELLED THROUGH EUROPE IN JULY TO OCTOBER, 1954 ,AND LIVED IN METZ, FRANCE FROM 1959 TO MARCH 1962 AND LATER ON VACATIONS AND NEVER HEARD OF PADRE PIO . WHY THE DEATHLY SILENCE ON THE PART OF THE CATHOLIC CHURCH WITH RESPECT TO THIS SAINT?

WAS HE GOING TO DENT THE RELIGIOUS TOURS OF LOURDES AND FATIMA BY THE FAITHFUL?

Here are several excerpts: "Of all the charisms Padre Pio  had ... was his charism or ability of praying at all times.... "A thousand years of glory in palaces of men cannot be worth the sweetness of one hour spent before the tabernacle." ... "What mankind lacks today is prayer." Padre Pio devoted much of later life to the work of "Prayer Groups." ... His favorite private prayer was the Rosary.... was called the "Saint of the Rosary." ... Love the Madonna and make her loved by others. always pray the Rosary...."I hear a voice within me that persistently tells me Be holy an have a holy influence.... We also know about Padre Pio's special devotion to St. Michael the Archangel and his guardian angel.... There were two long periods of persecutions when his fellow men crucified Padre Pio. The first from 1923 to 1933. The second was from 1959 until his death.... It is estimated that Padre Pio heard about five million confessions for 15 hours a day and on occasion for as many as nineteen.... He could not tolerate superficiality or lack of honesty in the use of the sacrament of forgiveness.... A soul needs to be shaken up should not be caressed. With Padre Pio's powerful gifts of reading hearts, he perceived at once what was needed.... He values frequent confession as indispensable for progress in the spiritual life.... a powerful means not only for removing sins, but also for increasing divine grace... "I weep at men's ingratitude toward their Supreme Benefactor. What more could we have expected Jesus, poor Jesus, to do He has already done."...
