WHAT DO I REMEMBER ABOUT THE YEAR 2018?

WHAT DO I REMEMBER ABOUT THE YEAR 2018?
CONFESSION! I HAVE BEEN TAKING A MEMORY PILL FOR THE LAST THREE YEARS. IT IS CALLED "PREVAGEN" WHEN I DO FORGET I BLAME IT ON "PREVAGEN". IT IS ONLY A POWER OF SUGGESTION PILL. AND IT DOES COST MORE THAN A DOLLAR A DAY. MY EXCUSE IS THAT I PREPARE MY OWN INCOME TAX &  DO LIVE INDEPENDENTLY WITH CAR AND OUTSIDE ACTIVITIES.

 MY CAR BROKE DOWN A FEW  SATURDAYS AGO. ON THE WAY HOME FROM A VISIT TO BOB ESCOBAR WHO IS RECOVERING FROM A BLOOD CLOT IN THE HEAD, ETC. AND IS IN REHAB. ANOTHER NEW ENGINE OF $3700 IN A 2000 CAMARY WAS NOT WORTH IT.
I NOW USE A CANE AND A WALKER. WHAT GOT ME MOST EXCITED THIS PAST WEEK. IMAGINE, WALKING DISTANCE FROM THIS PLACE TO ST. POLYCARP CATHOLIC CHURCH IS ONLY ONE/HALF MILE. I TOOK THE WALKER AND GOT THERE IN 16-18 MINUTES. (4 REST PERIODS), AND TO THE OTHER CORNER, CVS PHARMACY AT 18-20 MINUTES. GREAT EXERCISE!

 I WILL ADJUST TO INDEPENDENT LIVING WITHOUT A CAR. MY NEW SCAN INSURANCE SAID THEY WILL PROVIDE ME WITH 12 VISITS TO THE DOCTOR. ON MONDAY, I HOPE TO SIGN UP WITH "ACCESS" ORANGE COUNTY BUS PROGRAM. IT WILL BE ABOUT $4.00 PER TRIP.
WILL GET TO MONTHLY "DOMINICAN LAITY PRAYER MEETING" ON  LAST MONTHLY MONDAY EVENING FROM ABOUT 6:15 P.M. TO 8:15 P.M. LOCATION AT ST. MARY'S CATHOLIC CHURCH IN FULLERTON. AND ALSO TO THE KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS MEETINGS ON THE THIRD WEDNESDAY OF THE MONTH AT ST. IRENEAUS CHURCH IN CYPRESS, AND COUPLE GET-TOGETHER DINNER AND CARDS. GOING ONE DAY WILL TIRE ME OUT. THE NEXT DAY, I DO TAKE FREQUENT NAPS. MORE THAN NORMAL PEOPLE DO. ALSO, LUCKILY, I HAVE DAILY ACCESS TO THE WALL STREET JOURNAL, A BREADTH OF FRESH AIR.

 WE HAVE A CLINIC WHERE I LIVE, INDEPENDENTLY AT ROWNTREE GARDENS IN STANTON, CA.  THEY WAKE ME UP EARLY AND DO THE TEST. DONE BY OUTSIDE LAB. IT WAS OK.
I HAVE JUST BEEN INTERRUPTED (2:40 P.M.) BY THE JOURNEY EVANGELICAL CHURCH STROLLING CAROLERS. THEY SANG CHRISTMAS SONGS OUTSIDE MY DOOR AND DOWN THE LONG HALLWAY.
OK. I COULDN'T WAIT UNTIL CHRISTMAS EVE TO OPEN MY GIFT FROM THEM. IT WAS A BLUEISH BLANKET TO COVER THE BED ON ANY COLD WINTER NIGHT WITH MY DOOR OPEN.

 THE DAILY ROUTINE IS ABOUT THE SAME. UP AT 5:20 A.M. - EXERCISE AND THEN THE STRONG INFLUENCE OF ST. PIO,  BEST OF THE BIBLE BOOK, AND POPE BENEDICT'S BOOK - CO-WORKERS OF THE TRUTH.  PICK UP THE ORANGE COUNTY NEWSPAPER AT 6:15 P.M. AND BREAKFAST AT 6:30AM, LUNCH AT 11 AM, AND SUPPER AT 4:15 P.M. WE HAVE WAITERS AND WAITRESSES.

 I BELIEVE I WAS IN THE HOSPITAL DURING THE MONTH OF JANUARY. (NO TV OR NEWSPAPERS)  THE EXCELLENT DOCTOR HAD DONE "LAPAROSCOPIC ASSISTED RIGHT COLOSTOMY, JAN. 2ND. THEY REMOVED THE CANCER JUST IN TIME. TO DOUBLE CHECK, MAY HAVE ANOTHER COLONOSCOPY IN JAN. 2019. DURING JANUARY, I READ THE BOOK "PADRE PIO AND - THE TRUE STORY" AND "THE POLITICAL POPE." HOPE TO COMPLETE THE BOOK REPORTS ON THEM BY NEXT YEAR ON MY BLOG.FOR BETTER OR FOR WORSE, I SIGNED UP YESTERDAY WITH ALL NEW JITTERBUG SMART 2 PHONE.  I COULD NOT HANDLE THE CELL PHONE "VIRGIN MOBILE." MY AOL HAS BEEN A DISASTER.  WILL ATTEND CLASSES HERE AT ROWNTREE ON THE EYE PAD, SOMETHING COMPLETELY NEW TO ME.

 THEY DO HAVE A LOT OF ACTIVITIES ON CAMPUS. WEEKLY BUS TRIPS TO ALL KINDS OF LOCATIONS. LAST WEEK WENT TO THE LA MIRADA THEATER TO SEE "THE YOUNG AMERICANS" AND EARLIER THIS YEAR FOR ALL DAY VISIT TO "THE QUEEN MARY." OH! TALK ABOUT  A QUEEN, I AM BLESSED WITH BEING A GREAT GRANDFATHER. HER NAME IS LORELEI, DAUGHTER OF CHASE AND LAUREN ROGERS.

 THE BOTTOM LINE ON WHAT IS BEST ABOUT WHERE I LIVE IS TWO MINUTES AWAY FROM ALL THE MEALS (I CAN'T COOK) AND ONLY 29 STEPS AWAY FROM THE CLOTHES WASHING MACHINE. PLUS THEY HAVE PROGRAMS THAT KEEP YOU ALIVE LONGER THAN NORMAL. CHECK IT OUT!

    "Catholic colleges openly teach dissent without any correction from the bishops, and there is a tolerance of a moral life among their students that would shock even the most pagan of the ancient Greeks and Romans.

    "Liturgical abuses have abounded and remained uncorrected for decades. In the seminaries and within the priesthood, homosexual predation by an apparent network of priests has gone on for years, along with cover-ups, denials and secret payouts.

    "The number of states initiating grand jury investigations is increasing daily.... Mass attendance has been declining for years, ... Scandals continue to arise. The Vatican Bank has been plagued by scandal for years...

    The Holy Father himself is surrounded by questionable figures who are at the very heart of the current crises.... In response to the crisis, from Rome there has been silence.... I also repent because I am a member of the very hierarchy and cadre of those in holy orders I describe.

    I have been a priest for nearly  30 years now, and this disorder has only increased on my watch. I can not exempt myself from all blame... It goes against my training and my nature my nature as a Catholic and a priest to recite this litany of disorder. I even admit to the fear of retribution for my words.

    I would like to mention again that while the big picture is bleak, there are many bishops who have spoken courageously and taught well during these dark days. May they be confirmed by the Lord and preserved in their ministry. I beg the bishops to hear a cry of the heart, not just from me, one of their priests, but from so many of the faithful who must live with the disorder within the Church that we who  are in holy orders have very obligation to correct. Our credibility is nearly nonexistent.  ...

    We clergy must amend our lives by recommitting to the Lord' doctrinal and moral teaching; we must strive to live it ourselves and be serious about reproving the dissenters and serial violators and removing them from our ranks. We must honestly call out sin and refer to it by its proper name. We must speak no less plainly than did out Lord and his apostles, who used words like sodomy, fornication, adultery, greed, hatred, divorce and heresy.

    Resorting to vague terms like wounded, clericalism and abuse of power only diminishes our credibility. People can see right through such obfuscation. It is not my place, nor is it my goal, to set forth an agenda for the bishops. However, we who share in the sacrament of holy orders are currently president over a landscape of terrible disorder and have no one to blame but ourselves.

    Even if we have not personally committed moral offenses, to many of us have remained fearfully silent and /or indecisive. We have not courageously witnessed to the truth. The heroic example of the martyrs is almost unknown to us. We must change.`

    Indeed, we must seek a remarkable wherein our collective cowardice is converted, as if by miracle, into a clear, loving witness that is willing to endure the scorn of the world to reassert the truth of the Gospel. May our love for God's be so great that we refuse to lie to them or water down the truth that alone can set each one of us free.   

    May we who share in the exalted sacrament of holy orders, by God's grace, restore order to the Lord's Church, an order that both he and his good people deserve and require, and may God's good people pray and fast for our bishops."

ABOUT ME

NO MORE CINOPS
The most rewarding part-time business I had during the 1980's in Long Beach was promoting small businesses and consumers (aka teaching the poor how to fish). It was a successful conservative project. As a member of the Long Beach Area Chamber of Commerce, the Weekly Consumer Buyline/Long Beach Buyline, did it all. It saved my family of six at least $50 to $100 monthly. It was a weekly flyer of best food and nonfood buys. At one time we had almost 100 advertisers and a distribution by foot of 1000 flyers. It was posted in about 25 or more laundromats. Distribution areas were mainly below Anaheim Street and in Belmont Shore. I was blessed with some interesting travel. Stationed for at least 3 years as a regular US Army soldier in Metz, France, 1959-1961 (Berlin Crisis extension). Later took pilgrimages to Medjegore, Lourdes, Fatima and a trip to the Holy Land.     There are two sentences from the article that I will post which are MOST disturbing to me. Firstly, "At the time of this writing, there has has not been one bishop, archbishop or cardinal in either the Holy See or the United States who has come forward on his own to repent publicly of his sins of  omissions or commission with regard to Archbishop McCarrick's series of promotions over decades," stated Bishop McKnight. +++ Secondly, "History proves that we bishops are not capable of policing ourselves adequately on the issue of clergy sexual abuse."
  
  OUR BISHOPS WERE ALWAYS HELD ON THE HIGHEST LEVEL OF RESPECT; ALMOST, AT TIMES, LIKE SAINTS. THERE ARE CHURCH AND CIVIL LAWS. HANDLE PRIEST ABUSE IMMEDIATELY WITHIN THAT DIOCESE, WITHOUT ANY COVER-UP.   ALMOST 3 BILLION DOLLARS WAS SPENT IN PAST DECADES IN AMERICA ALONE. MONEY DONATED BY CATHOLIC RESIDENTS AND EARLY IMMIGRANTS YEARS AGO.

"My frustration, shared with many other people, is this, "Bishop McKnight of the Diocese of Jefferson City explained. "We have known about the scandal of Archbishop McCarrick since the end of June, and our Church must take immediate, decisive and substantive action in light of the deep wound the scandal has caused....

 HERE ARE EXCERPTS FROM A BLOCKBUSTER ARTICLE IN THE "NATIONAL CATHOLIC REGISTER" NOVEMBER 25 TO DECEMBER 8, 2018 - By Monsignor Charles Pope, "Collective Cowards Must Be Transformed Into Clear Loving Witness"

 " In light of the annual fall general assembly of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) Nov. 12-14 in Baltimore, we do well to ponder a critical work of bishops (along with priests and deacons) - that of governance.... So the primary meaning of holy orders does not pertain simply to keeping things in good order, but to ranks or distinctions within a larger group. However, key to the ancient Latin term was the idea of governance. Hence while we sometimes use it in its wider sense (e.g., "Order of Catechumens"), the term is usually restricted in the more formal sense to the ordained clergy. The Catechism states:
   
    "Integration into one of these bodies in the Church was accomplished by a rite called ordinatio, a liturgical act which was a consecration, a blessing or a sacrament .... for it confers the gift of the Holy Spirit that permits the exercise of a 'sacred power'.... Therefore, a bishop is one designated to oversee a local area or diocese. Of a bishop, St. Paul writes that he must,
    
"be able to encourage with sound doctrine and to convict those contradicting it. For there are also many insubordinate, empty  talkers and deceivers, especially those of the circumcision. It is necessary to silence them, as they overthrow whole households, teaching things that they ought not for the sake of base gain" (Titus 1:9-11)                                    
    Hence, at the heart of the sacrament of holy orders is keeping of order through the munus regendi (the office of governance), indeed, ... The overall atmosphere, however, is one of unholy disorder brought about by the very ones ordained to bring holy order:
   
 The faith is openly betrayed and denied by renegade bishops - even whole conferences of bishops - the heads of religious orders, Synods sow confusion and division rather than clarity or unity..
    
Teaching is on holiday, silence in the face of error is rampant, and listening without limit is called "magisterial." .... There are wandering "celebrity priests" who promote the "LBGT" agenda without any reference to repentance or chastity. Policies that deny the Lord's clear words on divorce/remarriage and ignore St. Paul's admonition about Holy Communion are proposed and adopted.     When asked about the insertion of "LGBT" into the recently concluded Youth Synod's working document, the cardinal called it an example of "the creeping influence of atheism in the Church, which has been responsible for the crisis of the Church for half a century." The Cardinal likened this influence

    THE CARDINAL SEES THE PRESENCE OF ATHEISM AT WORK ALSO IN THE RECENT GRANTING OF A NIHIL OBSTAT TO THE DISSIDENT PRO-HOMOSEXUAL RECTOR OF JESUIT PHILOSOPHICAL AND THEOLOGICAL COLLEGE IN FRANKFURT, GERMANY.
 
    Father Ansgar Wucherpfennig, S.J. temporarily stepped down from his position after it emerged that he blesses homosexual partnerships and advocates for the ordination of women. " He does not theoretically deny the existence of God, but, rather, he denies Him as the source of morality by presenting that which is before God a sin as a blessing." The cardinal told LIFESITENEWS that part of the ongoing sexual misconduct scandal in the worldwide church is a reluctance to confront the "true causes."... "It is part of the crisis that one does not wish to see the true causes and covers them up with the help of progaganda phrases [from] the homosexual lobby," the cardinal asserted.
 
"Fornication with teenagers and adults is mortal sin which no power on earth can declare to be morally neutral." The former doctrinal chief even vetoed the use of the expression "homosexual persons," saying that they "do not exist." Instead, there are men and women with "disordered passions."

    WHY WOULD ANYONE IN THE WORLD WANT TO REMEMBER CONGRESSWOMAN NANCY OR GOVERNOR JERRY? WELL!  BOTH HAVE BEEN ANNOYING ME FOR MORE THAN THIRTY YEARS.
     THE SAME WOULD BE HAPPENING TO ANYONE WHO IS ACTIVELY PRO-LIFE, PRO-MARRIAGE & PRO-FAMILY. MY MAIN FOCUS WILL BE ON NANCY. SHE'S ABOUT SIX YEARS YOUNGER THAN I.
  
     GOVERNOR JERRY IS A DIFFERENT STORY. AS A PUBLIC SCHOOL TEACHER FROM 1963 TO 1986, HE DESTROYED THIS HONORABLE PROFESSION THAT I WAS IN. HE SIGNED THE RODDA ACT OF 1975 WHICH LEGALIZED UNIONISM IN PUBLIC EDUCATION. IT GAVE THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY LOTS OF MONEY EACH YEAR BUT IT POLITICIZED THE PUBLIC TEACHING PROFESSION. UNIONISM WAS NEVER INTENDED FOR THE PUBLIC SECTOR, LEAST OF ALL TEACHERS.
 
      WHEN GOVERNOR REAGAN WAS IN POWER, HE VETOED THAT TYPE OF A BILL. WE WERE GETTING ALONG JUST FINE WITH A"MEET AND CONFER PROCESS", BUT TO POLITICIZE THE HONORABLE PUBLIC SCHOOL TEACHER, THAT'S EVIL GOVERNOR JERRY BROWN! YOU DID IT!
 
    TODAY, FOR THE CHRISTIAN, CONSERVATIVE, INDEPENDENT,  REPUBLICAN OR LIBERTARIAN TEACHER, HE OR SHE  IS BASICALLY IN THE CLOSET. ONE HAS TO LISTEN TO LOT OF GROUP THINKING ESPECIALLY IF IT ABOUT THE PRESIDENT TRUMP.  HIS SUCCESSFUL ECONOMIC, SOCIAL, AND RELIGIOUS POLICIES ARE NOT PART OF THE CONVERSATION.
 
    IN THE COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES, WE HAVE THE  PROGRESSIVE, SECULAR ATHEISTIC TEACHERS  SOUNDING LIKE MARXISTS. THIS WHOLE EDUCATION SYSTEM IS A FARCE. NORMAL AMERICANS LOOK UPON THEM AS MISTAKEN IN THEIR BELIEFS. ON THE OTHER HAND, THEY HATE US FOR OURS . WE ARE FAILING OUR YOUNG STUDENTS. WE NEED REAGAN TYPE LEADERS WITH  COMMON SENSE AND PERSUASION.
 
    LET ALL OF US  RECALL SOME OF NANCY'S THOUGHTS AND ACTIONS, ESPECIALLY THE CATHOLIC BISHOPS OF CALIFORNIA.  WE EXEMPT TEXAS WHICH IS A PROUD PRO-LIFE STATE.
 
1) DO YOU REMEMBER THE VOTE FOR OBAMACARE AND THE SO-CALLED PRO-LIFE DEMOCRATIC CONGRESSMEN? THEY GOT ELECTED WITH THE HELP OF NANCY. LATER I REMEMBER HOW THEY GOT MANIPULATED BY NANCY, EMMANUEL AND SCHUMER TO PASS OBAMACARE. IT WAS SEDUCTIVELY CLEVER AND DIABOLICAL ON THE PART OF NANCY.
 
2) DO YOU RECALL WHAT HAPPENED IN MASSACHUSETTS? NANCY CAME TO MAKE SURE THAT THE STATE LEGISLATURE WILL NOT ALLOW THE PEOPLE OF MASSACHUSETTS TO VOTE ON AN AMENDMENT IN SUPPORT OF MARRIAGE AS  BETWEEN A MAN AND WOMEN. IN A MOST SHAMEFUL OCCURRENCE IN THE HISTORY OF THE KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS, THEIR MEMBERS IN THE LEGISLATURE WERE PERSUADED NOT TO PERMIT THIS TO HAPPEN. I WROTE ALL ABOUT THIS IN MY BLOG. NANCY DID IT TO HELP PRESIDENT OBAMA.
 
TODAY, WE HAVE ABOUT 40 NEW DEMOCRATIC CONGRESS PERSONS WHO DURING THE MID-TERM CAMPAIGN  WERE SILENT ABOUT NANCY'S LEADERSHIP OR VEHEMENTLY OPPOSED HER. BUT NANCY DIRECTLY AND INDIRECTLY SUPPORTED THEM IN THE CAMPAIGN. (THE DUPED INDEPENDENTS AND REPUBLICANS WHO VOTED FOR THESE CONGRESSPERSONS WILL REGRET THEIR VOTE). SHE WILL PERSUADE SEVERAL TO VOTE FOR HER AND WILL WIN THE LEADERSHIP.                                                                                                                                   
 WE HAVE NOW A NOTORIOUS CATHOLIC-IN-NAME ONLY POLITICIAN ALONG WITH OTHER CINOPS IN CONGRESS TRYING TO IMPLEMENT THE LEFTIST CULTURE OF DEATH AGENDA FOR AMERICA.

  "When he finished praying and returned to Pio's room, he was amazed to find his young friend lucid and cheerful. "You went to the choir to pray." he said, "and that was fine,but you also thought about my funeral eulogy....There's time, Professor, there's plenty of time!" ...
  
 Padre Agostino began to observe Pio closely and became convinced that the priest was neither insane nor delirious. He began to spend a great amount of time in Pio's room. Sometimes, rather crassly, he invented his students in to watch, for he and Padre Evangelista agreed that some of Pio's experiences were true cases of ecstasy, and they thought the students had the opportunity of a lifetime to view such phenomena firsthand.
  
  St. John of the Cross defines ecstasy as "the going out of a soul from itself and being caught up in God." This "immersion" in God is how Agostina and Evangelista perceived some of the trances into which Pio was falling. On other occasions they were convinced that he was having visions inspired by the devil.
   
 Padre Agostino observed that Padre Pio went into ecstasy two or three times a day. On seven occasions, the professor sat with pen in hand and transcribed everything that Pio said. Other ecstasies were, for various reasons unrecorded. These celestial encounters, in which Pio seemed to converse with Jesus, Mary, and his guardian angel, were usually either preceded or followed by diabolical vexations. The heavenly colloquies, Agostino observed, were usually longer than the infernal visitations, usually lasting between minutes. 
  
  In all, Padre Agostino observed ten "diabolical apparitions." The first was the vision of the black cat. On another occasion, Pio had a vision of naked women who "danced lasciviously" on his room. Another time, the devil, invisible, spat in his face. On yet another occasion, Pio complained of hideous noises that no one else could hear....
   
 Pio went on to relate how, shortly after Agostino had left him in the monastery, there was a knock on the door and --- there was the professor, back again... what appeared to be Agostino said he was ready to hear Pio's confession. Pio, however, felt an unaccountable disgust for him....he had a wound on his forehead that had not been there a few minutes before. "What happened to your forehead? Pio asked.
   
 "Oh," replied "Agostino," "I fell while I was going downstairs. Now, son, here I am to hear your confession." At this point, Pio demanded, "Say, Praise Jesus.". "No!" shouted the demon who had taken the professor's ample form, and he vanished into thin air. ....
   
The first ecstasy Padre Agostino transcribed to place on Nov. 28, 1911, between 9:45 and 11:00 a.m. When it began, Pio seemed to be talking with the Virgin Mary. Then he began to pray for various souls, addressing Jesus as he would talk to a friend: O Jesus, I commend that soul to You ... You must convert her, for then it might be possible for her to lose Your grace, but sanctify. Yes, sanctify her ... Oh, didn't You shed your blood for her too? ... O Jesus, convert that man ... You can do it. Yes, You can!..I offer all myself for him ... 
   
 He prayed for the colleagues who ministered to him in his sickness. "Jesus, I commend these friars to You," he says. "They get up at night. You know that .... After all, who am I? ... Help them... I am not good enough even to celebrate Mass, but they exercise their ministry." 
    
Pio's conversations with his guardian angel were a good deal less reverent: "Angel of God, my angel -- aren't you my guardian? God gave you to me .... Are you a creature or are you a creator? .... You are a creator? No! Then you are a creature and you have a law and you have to obey -- you must stay close to me whether you want to or not.... You're laughing! ... What is there to laugh about? Tell me one thing -- you have to tell me. Who was it? Who was here yesterday morning? ... You're laughing... You have to tell me! ... Who was it! ...Either the professor or the guardian... Then Pio turned to Jesus. "If you wont tell me, he said to the angel, "I will ask Jesus ... then you will listen."... George H. Kubeck

Preface:
    What better Saint to assist us in this October month of the Rosary than St. Pio. As a priest he had the Rosary in his hand every minute of his life. He died on Sept. 23, 1968 & canonized a Saint, June 16, 2002.(Rome, Sept. 29, 2018 (LifeSiteNews) - "Pope Francis today invited Catholics worldwide to pray the Rosary every day during the month of October, "asking the Holy Mother of God & St. Michael the Archangel" to protect the Church from attacks of the devil - the "Great Accuser" - and to make her members more aware "of the sins, errors, and abuses committed in the present and in the past."

     "Immediately after he received Padre Pio's letter describing the stigmata, Padre Benedetto wrote to the minister general of the Capuchin Order, Padre Pacifico of Seggiano, telling him about the young friar's holiness and asking about the advisability of sending him once again to live in a religious community.
    After describing Padre Pio as "a young priest of angelic character," the provincial mentions Pio's offering of himself as a victim of divine love and his mysterious illness, linking the two phenomena together: "He had also asked to participate in the pains of the Savior, and has been granted this in an ineffable way. Migraine headaches, resistant to any remedy, and illness inexplicable to any doctor, however renowned in the healing art, have come to torment him along with great spiritual suffering. It was suspected that he had been stricken with tuberculosis, and doctors ordered him to breathe the air of his native town, especially when uncontrollable vomiting prevented him from holding even a spoonful of broth for days and days.

    After telling Padre Pacifico about the stigmata, which he judged to be "the seal of his special calling," Padre Benedetto asked for advice. Several times in recent years, he says, Padre Pio had been sent to various friaries, only to suffer lapses and have to return home. "Well aware that until now this has been the will of God," Benedetto writes, "I want to summon him at this time to return to the cloister in any way possible. I am concerned, however {If anything should go amiss}, that the fault would be mine." Then Benedetto asks, "What do you say about this?"
    Padre Pio must have encouraged Benedetto to reassign the "angelic" young priest to a friary because, in the fall of 1911, the father provincial began to urge Padre Pio very strongly to return to community life. But he did not command him to do so. Rather, he tried to persuade Pio to consent.
    Pio was extremely reluctant. "You know that I wanted to return to the frary," he wrote Benedetto. "The greatest sacrifice that I have made to the Lord is precisely my inability to live in community."...

    {Again Padre Pio had gotten seriously ill.) While awaiting his appointment with Sister Death, Padre Pio was to study sacred eloquence, the course of study that normally followed ordination. It was to be Venafro that the supernatural aspect of Padre Pio's life would become general knowledge among his confreres. The friary of San Nicandro was built in 1573 adjacent to the tomb and Basilica of the Roman martyr by that name. The community consisted of thirteen men, nine priests, and four brothers....

    Padre Evangelista decided to take Pio once again to Naples for medical consultation. As usual, the doctors could not diagnose the illness, and the two friars left the clinic knowing no more than before....
To this point, Padre Pio had been regarded simply as and ideal religious who had the misfortune to be suffering from an undiagnosable illness. The stigmata had disappeared again, and no one at Venafro... was aware that had ever existed... Toward the end of Novermber 1911, however, the supernatural side of Padre Pio's life burst into the open.
    One day Padre Agostino advised that Pio was doing  very poorly, rushed into his room, where he found the young man raving about a huge black cat that he said was bout to pounce on him. Agostino was certain that Pio, unable to eat for days, was weakened to the point of hallucination. Fearing that his protege was about to die, Agostino rushed into the chapel to pray for Pio. During his prayers, his mind wandered. He started thinking that he would probably be asked to preach at Padre Pio' funeral, and he to fret about what he would say. ..."   George H. Kubeck
