CONTEMPORARY AMERICAN CHRISTIAN MARTYRS

  CONTEMPORARY AMERICAN CHRISTIAN MARTYRS
In pursuit of the truth - http://www.cinopsbegoneblogspot.com - Saturday, Oct. 3, 2015

Reference: The killing of nine persons & wounding of seven in Roseburg, Oregon, Thurs. Oct. 1/15

What we must focus on is the conversation that the deranged killer had with the nine victims. President Obama had full knowledge of that conversation. In the past, Obama says he is a Christian and that  we are not a Christian country. Had the victims been specifically Muslim would President Obama also come up with the following remark? "This is a political choice that we make, to allow this to happen every few months in America. We collectively are answerable to those families who lose their loved ones because of our inaction."  Your decide!

I think the solution to the problem is not political but spiritual. We need a spiritual revival in our country. In conversation with the victims, the deranged killer blew off the head of each victim who said he was a Christian. Then he said you will meet your God. In closing remarks, the deranged killer offered his soul to the devil. As Christians, we believe in the existence of Satan. Directly and indirectly the blood of martyrs to the Christian faith has been spilled. What's next? How about daily wearing a cross or a symbol of a cross on your clothing? There will be more.

Meditations on the first three days of October in conjunction with  the killings of nine Americans on the first of October at Roseburg, Oregon.

1) On October 3: On this day in 1789, mindful of the many blessings God had bestowed upon America, President Washington decided to proclaim a Day of Thanksgiving.

"It is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the Providence of Almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for His benefits, and humbly to implore his protection and favor." Washington, Writings, XXX, 427."

2) California's first martyr: "While Serra was in Monterey, the mission in San Diego was attacked and burned by the Indians. Luis Jayme, another friar from Majorca tried to prevent the attack, and addressed the Indians with a greeting of peace: "Love God, my children!" But they took hold of him, stripped him naked, pierced his torso with eighteen arrows, and pulverized his face with clubs and stone. He was California's first martyr. Upon receiving the word of it, Serra declared, "Thanks be to God! Now that the terrain has been watered by blood, the conversion of the Indians will take place."Magnificat, September 2015 - Section 111

3) On October 1: "For Catholics October is one of the quiet times in the Church; it was only in the course of the last century that it acquired its special character as the Month of the Rosary, the month of quiet prayer... we must rebuild the path that leads to the hearing and speaking God - or better: we must let this path be given us anew. Where better to begin our meditation than with the Rosary? ... we thereby fulfill a Gospel prophecy and hence a command of the Holy Spirit. "Surely from now on all generations will call me blessed." (Lk 1:48) ... Private prayer is of itself insufficient. It must be joined to the prayer of the faithful of all times...."  Joseph Cardinal Ratzinger, Co-Workers of the Truth, Meditations for Every Day of the Year, Ignatius Press San Francisco, 1992

4) On October 3: Jesus Gives the Great Commission: Matthew 28:16-20
"Jesus came and told his disciples, "I have been given complete authority in heaven and earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age." The Best of the Bible  - 365 Must-Read Bible Passages, Wheaton, Illinois, 1996
