THERE IS TRUTH VS. LIES

 

    One side of the political debate believes that a boy or man who says he feels like a girl can BE a girl - and that he can take girl's spots on their sport teams or share their showers with them at school. They call those who disagree "bigots" and "haters." But the truth is, no matter how many hormones he takes or life-altering surgeries he has, a man cannot be a girl...

 

   THERE IS RIGHT VS. WRONG

 

    One side of the political debate believes that children should not be free to pray and express their Christian beliefs in school. This same side believes that health care professionals should be forced to participate in abortions or 'gender transitions surgeries' even on children regardless of whether the procedure is in the child's best interest- or against the professional's faith. Yet, for a believer, prayer is like breathing, and our obedience to God's Word must come before any politicians agenda. On November 3rd we will pursue right or wrong?

 

THERE IS FREEDOM VS. CAPTIVITY

   

    One side of the political debate works hard to hold men and women captive to a sexual agenda that only leads to physical brokenness, mental and emotional anguish, and damaged relationships. Just ask our friend James Shape who became the nation's first legally-declared "non-binary man," and now has found real freedom in Christ alone. Political decisions have real consequences in real lives. For the sake of our neighbor, I pray we choose freedom over captivity on election day.

 

THERE IS LIFE VS. DEATH

 

    And of course, one side of the political debate praises death as a "choice," adding their stamp of approval as lives made in the image of God are destroyed in the womb. Political leaders truly gold life and death in their hands as they make decisions that further the devastation of Roe v. Wade... Even worse, Kamala Harris believes that every state in the nation get her "permission" to pass a pro-life law. For me, this decision is the clearest of all. On Nov. 3rd, I will choose life over death and down the ticket.

    "The Democratic National Committee has declared the Democratic Party the party of the "religiously unaffiliated" in a resolution it passed championing the values of secular America as inclusive, while condemning religious liberty and Americans of faith as repressive and discriminatory.

    "The resolution passed Saturday at the DNC's summer meeting in San Francisco affirmed the religiously unaffiliated as sharing their values and being "the largest religious group within the Democratic Party," the Washington Examiner reported. "The unanimously passed resolution also criticized 'religious views' and 'religious liberty' that threatened minority groups."

 

Declaring war on religious freedom?

During the DNC's summer meeting in the City by the Bay, it embraces atheists and those not identifying with any faith as constituting its dominant group,...

    The resolution goes on to portray nonreligious American as victims of the religious liberties upon which America was founded centuries ago when Europeans fled across the Atlantic to worship God and practice their faith according to their sincerely held religious  to their sincerely held religious beliefs, - without government interference or persecution. 

 

"Whereas, the nonreligious have have often been subject to unfair bias and exclusion in American society - particularly in the area of politics and policymaking, where assumption of religiosity have long predominated, " the resolution claims. "Those most loudly claiming that morals, values and patriotism must be defined by their particular religious views have used those religious views - with misplaced claims of 'religious liberty' - to justify public policy that has threatened the civil rights and liberties of many Americans, including but not limited to the LGBT community, women and ethnic and religious/nonreligious minorities."

 

It goes on to tout the Democratic Party as one of inclusion and the Republican Party as one of exclusion as it looks to usher in all those who shun values based in the Bible and other religious codes of morality.

Preface:

    Yesterday on EWTN, from Pietrelicina, Italy, there was a Solemn Mass in honor of St. Padre Pio. It was also a Memorial of St. Pius of Pietrelcina Priest. It marked the 52nd anniversary of Padre Pio's death. Today, there is also a Mass St. Pius of Petrelcina. TODAY, at 1 P.M. on TV (EWTN) "Miracles of Padre Pio." (I believe.)

 

"When Padre Pio was laid to rest, many newspapers predicted that San Giovanni Rotondo would dry up an die like an uprooted plant, that it would become a virtual ghost town. But such was not the case, Padre Pio frequently remarked, "I can be of more use to you in heaven than I have been on earth," and many believed that in the years since 1968 he has been true to his word.

 

    In the decades following his passing, the number of pilgrims, far from diminishing, has increased each year, to the point in 1990 plans were being drawn up for a giant church seating at least 10,000 people, with a dining hall for 1000 places and first-aid stations adjoining. The Casa has tripled in size, and 20 years after Padre Pio's death serves 1,200 patients and has 300 physicians in attendance and is generally considered one of the finest hospitals in Europe.

 

    An outpatient clinic was scheduled to open late in the 1990. In the 1980s construction was begun on 400 apartments for retired persons and three spiritual retreat centers. By 1990 the institutions for handicapped children founded by Padre Pio were serving more than 2,000 patients. The prayer groups, by the same year, had tripled since Padre Pio's death. As one of the friars remarked, "There's an awful lot of life coming out of that tomb!

 

    Far from receding into the mists of history, Padre Pio, since his death, has enjoyed an increasing celebrity, and, twenty years after his death, according to Kenneth Woodward, religion editor of Newsweek, "remains the object of a cult that is superseded in size only by those centered on the shrines to the Virgin Mary."

 

    Devotion to Padre Pio has been shown not only by ordinary believers, but by priests, bishops, cardinals, and even Pope John Paul II. Speaking to a group of eighteen thousand pilgrims at the Vatican on the occasion of the 15th of Pio's death, the pontiff praised the Capuchin who "for almost 50 years lived out and realized his religious consecration to the God almost exclusively in continuous, persistent, and fervent prayer, and in the ministry of reconciliation, guiding and directing thousands of the faithful who were seeking the authentic way of of perfection and of Christian holiness." 

 

    The Holy Father, who, as a cardinal, had visited San Giovanni in 1974, returned on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of father Pio's death, addressed a massive crowd at a park constructed specially for the occasion, and prayed at the tomb of the stigmatized friar. The same year saw a visit by Mother Teresa of Calcutta, who also prayed before Padre Pio's sarcophagus.  

 

    The graffiti that one occasionally sees in southern Italy, proclaiming, "Padre Pio lives!"is, for many, literal and not figurative. Many spiritual children to encounter the friar in visions, bi-locations, and more frequently, the "aroma of paradise." There have been "sightings" of him in Ireland and at the site of the alleged Marian apparitions at Medjugorje, Yugoslavia...

 

    While he lived, Padre Pio's family were seldom if ever, recipients of healing graces. It will be recalled that most of Pio's nieces and nephews died early and tragic deaths....

There will be a legal and adversary relationship against you from the government. Biden won because he received the so-called Catholic vote. Biden succeeded twice before for the Obama Presidency. He won.  There were not enough informed practicing Catholics and Christian citizens voting for Biden's opponent, the defeated President Trump.

 

  A.  Didn't Biden run as a practicing Catholic? Yes, and a lot of uninformed Catholics were duped! What drives me up the wall are the U.S. Catholic Bishops Warnings On The Equality Act HR 5 # 1 dated Thurs. Sept 26, 2019. What is going to happen frightens the dickens out of me.  We don't have the legal money available to fight off the attacks on our beliefs, unless we change our faith.

1. "The Equality Act, HR5, passed by practicing Catholic Speaker Nancy Pelosi in Congress on May 17, 2019 will pass the following in May of 2021 in the Democratic Congress and signed by President Joe Biden.

    This new law would fundamentally and radically alter Civil Rights Law to prohibit "discrimination" on the basis of "sexual orientation" and "gender identity," in the same way racial discrimination is prohibited.

a) Faith-based hospitals required to assist with abortions or lose their medical license. Require tax funding abortions and promote it world wide. Promote Planned Parenthood world-wide.

b) Adopt LGBTQ policies, treating religious schools as "hate groups" comparable to the K.K.K.

c) Forbid groups like the Knights of Columbus from receiving community grants from local governments for housing for the disabled or seniors unless  they accommodate the LGBTQ agenda including hiring those who identify as homosexual or transgender. And according to V.P. Harris not eligible to be a judge.

d) End women-only or men-only shelters serving drug addicts, the battered, and the homeless.

e) Remove the tax-event status of Christian and Catholic Churches if they fail to "celebrate" same-sex "weddings." This Equality Act would classify churches as "public accommodations: (like hotels and restaurants), prohibited from denying services on account of sexual orientation, in the same manner services cannot now to be denied on account of race. Let's stop right now.

 

    Did you know that 74 Democratic Catholic-in-name-only politicians voted last year for the Equality Act. These politicians were helped in their reelection by the Culture of Death News Media as practicing Catholics.

September 20, 1968, was the fiftieth anniversary of Padre Pio's visible stigmatization. The church was decorated by Padre Pio's visible friends throughout the world. Pio, who, for weeks, when asked how he felt had been saying, "Only the cemetery remains," celebrated Mass at five in the morning. Later that day, nearly bent double with pain, he attended the public recitation of the Rosary and later the benediction service. At nightfall an immense crowd of town folk and spiritual children moved from town toward the friary, bearing candles in their hands, showing "Viva Padre Pio!"... When a confrere wished him another fifty yeas, the old man demanded, "What harm have I ever done you?" ...

 

September 22 marked the beginning of the First International Convention of Prayer Groups. Every hotel, every inn, every boarding house in the town was packed. The Casa was resplendent with lights and flags, and a large platform had been erected on the plaza in front of the church to accommodate the speakers of the day....

 

The day was marked by the blessing of the crypt in the morning, and, in the afternoon, the laying of the first stone for the laying of the Cross that was being erected in the hillside above the church. Unexpectedly, around ten o'clock, supported by two friars, Pio appeared in the window of the old choir, and blessed the throngs assembled in the plaza below, who, in turn, who in turn responded with the waving of the handkerchiefs and cries of "Viva! Viva! Viva! ...

 

Padre Raffaele called on him. "I belong more to the other world than to this one. Pray to Our Lord that I might die," he said. Raffaele, distressed at seeing his old friend in terrible pain, summoned a doctor from the Casa, Professor Bruno Pavoni. After the doctor examined Pio, Raffaele demanded the reason why the sick man had been given no pain-killer. "He doesn't want it," said Pavoni who walked away....

 

Padre Pio then asked Padre Pellegrino to hear his confession. Then he told him, "Son, if the Lord calls me tonight, ask all my brothers to forgive me for all the trouble I have caused them, and ask all our fellow priests and my spiritual children to say a prayer for my soul." ...

 

At this point, Dr. Sala, who up to now had believed that Pio was suffering from asthma, realized his patient was having a heart attack and began to administer injections to stimulate the heart. In the meantime Padre Carmelo told the sacristan, "Get the holy oil and anoint Padre Pio." As Padre Armelo administered the sacrament of the sick (the "Last Rites"), Pio continued to whisper, "Jesus ... Mary ... Jesus... Mary..."

 

At 3:30 A.M. his face wet with tears, Dr. Sala sobbed, "Padre! Padre!" The Capuchin opened his eyes, looked at the physician, closed them again, turned his head to the right, gave a little cough, and, as the little group standing around his armchair offered the prayers for the dying, stopped breathing.  Sala administered mouth-to-mouth resuscitation and pounded on Pio's chest. The heart started again and there followed the sound of a few more breaths - then silence. Sala noted that the face of Padre Pio was "pale, distended, and bloodless" and the lips "slightly parted, like a little bird's"  Dr. Cusso observed "the clinical signs of death, the most peaceful and sweet I have ever seen."

 

"Where shall we put him now?" asked Sala. It was only then that most of the friars realized that Padre Pio had died. The corpse was placed on the bed, where it was prepared for viewing.There was no autopsy... Almost immediately, word of the padre's passing got out ... Quickly "an immense sea of people" congregated outside the friary... Between 8 and 8:30, as hundreds of mourners, "shouting, praying, and crying,"surged towards the coffin where the mortal remains of the "Wise Man of the Gargano" reposed...It is estimated there there were more than one hundred thousand people at San Giovanni for Padre Pio's funeral... "The thing is the pointy-headed little black-shirted goons aren't wrong about that. The official target of tonight's march is U.S. Immigration and Custom Enforcement - an agency within the Department of Homeland Security. ... "ABOLISH - ICE is the official theme of the evening .. but the real subject (the chants) "FXXX THE POLICE!" --- "A-C-A-B" "ALL COPS ARE BASTARDS!" --- REPEAT --- And these are absolutely are their streets, as the two neutered Portland cops following them around make clear. =C2=AO. The goons and thugs occasionally take a moment to amuse themselves by messing with the cops and screaming obscenities at them ... the cops trundle on ... pretending no to notice."

"WHAT CATHOLIC CHILDREN SHOULD BE TAUGHT"

 

      "We are experiencing in America today a cultural revolution which has been long in the works. This cultural revolution is occurring on many fronts, primarily based on race. Words like "white privilege" have replaced older concepts such as equality of opportunity and equality under the law. Noble struggles to end racial segregation have given way to new forms of segregation into racial identity groups, especially seen on college campuses.

 

    In nearly every large company, state agency, and educational institution, people are undergoing mandatory racial courses.  These courses are less about racial sensitivity than about propaganda that "systematic racism" is embodied in U.S. history, culture and institutions, and in being born white.

 

    As the historian Victor Davis Hanson observed recently, "cultural revolutions are insidious and not because they seek to change the way people think, speak and act. They are also dangerous because they are fueled by self-righteous sanctimoniousness, expressed in seemingly innocuous terms such as 'social activism,' 'equality,' and 'fairness,'" The current cultural revolution seeks to change fundamental American values and institutions.

    Cultural revolutionaries need to confronted by active citizens who bring their voices to school boards, city councils, university administrators, and state legislatures funding the revolutionaries. Corporations and foundations funding this revolution should be called out. Parents must be willing to withdraw their children from schools and teachers trying to indoctrinate their children. This may mean education their children through charter schools, homeschooling or religious schools. 

 

    The cultural left's grip on educational institutions has resulted in the capture of the minds of many of our youth, yet not all is lost.. As Jay Sakhalin, writing in American Thinker, notes, conservatives have countered the left in recent decades with the formation of hundred of think thanks, pressure groups and citizens' organizations. At the same time, alternative educational institutions have sprung up. 

    Students attending charger schools increased nearly sevenfold from 2000 to 2015, from about 400,000 to more than 2.7 million. Homeschooling has increased as well. Many young parents are withdrawing their children from public schools and placing them in Catholic or Christian schools.

    Seeing many of our youth turning to socialism, tearing down statues and expressing unpatriotic attitudes, concerned Americans are calling for the re institution of civics and history courses. Simply requiring these courses won't, however, fully address their content. Teachers having undergone indoctrination themselves will turn mandated civics and history courses into social justice propaganda.

RESISTING COUNTER-CULTURE

    Catholic education presents another challenge. Catholic schools generally offer religion classes, many of which emphasize social justice. As Christians, Catholics believe in the importance of social justice. Jesus taught that God gave us the gift of life and all humans are equal in the eyes of the world. We are our brothers' and sisters' keepers. But in the midst of the cultural revolution in which Christianity itself is under attack and Catholics are especially targeted, Catholic schools need to step the fight.

 

    Religious education must impart more than abstract principles, important as they are. Faith should be reinforced so our children an resist the left-wing popular culture created in the last half century. Our youth in Catholic schools rarely hear of examples of those who stood up to the forces of evil, often at the sacrifice of their own lives. Teaching about martyrs and saints personifies and reinforces

    "During the spring of 1965 Padre Pio deteriorated in health and spirits. Padre Alessio ... recounted, "Physically he was prostrated, weak in legs and arms. He walked slowly and painfully, supported by the arm... He was very discouraged and depressed. There was something that was discouraging him ... Every time he would go out of the room to hear confession or say Mass, he would write, 'in dubiis libertas' (in doubt liberty). In other words, in doubt, you have the freedom to decide what is right. He doubted whether he was solving problems the right way... He preferred to remain silent. His breathing was heavy because of asthma and bronchitis and he coughed all the time... The doctors gave him tablets at night to relax him ... Little by little I would give him the drink caramela, a herbal tranquilizer.

 

    For two or three months he was hardly sleeping at all. He would sleep for ten minutes, then he was up two or three hours ... the he would sleep ten minutes more. You could hear him moving, turning, praying... He could no longer read. I gave him two books on Our Lady. He managed to read two or three pages... In fact,he asked forgiveness for the trouble he was causing. He used to cry because he was a burden to me and the community.

 

    During the long nights made sleepless by coughing and shortness of breath, Pio murmured continually, "My Jesus, my mother Mary, I offer up to you the groaning of my poor soul!" During the day he was heard to murmur, "Jesus, call me!" and "I can't carry on anymore," Every night he would beg the superior, Padre Carmento,"Give me the obedience to die." ...
    In 1966 Padre Pio celebrated the Golden Anniversary of his residence in San Giovanni Rotondo, and the city council proclaimed a day of celebration in his honor on December 26, Pio was presented with a medallion and a memorial tablet was unveiled in front of the old church.

    As he approached his eightieth birthday, Pio's health worsened further. His sight was so bad that he requested and receive a dispensation from his obligation to pray the Holy Office. His legs were not only weak, but were numb as well, and he was given permission to say Mass in a seated position...

 

    On April 26, 1968, Padre Pio was told that eighty-year-old Maria Pyle had been taken to the Casa after suffering another stroke. Would he like to visit her? "No, I am going to pray to the Lord to take her home to heaven to be with the angels."

    Although most of those whom Padre Pio had loved best now slept in the town cemetery, he knew he was not destined to rest beside them. A tomb was being prepared in the crypt under the new church to receive his remains. He predicted that when the tomb was complete, he would die.

 

    By now the stigmata were disappearing. For more than a year they had disappeared from his feet, although his feet hurt so intensely that it proved a veritable martyrdom when one of his assistants put on his sock and sandals. The wound in the side no longer bled and, by the spring of 1968, the stigmata on the hands were vanishing.By summer there were now only scabs, with just a touch of redness. One of his attendants, Padre Onorato, recognized this as a sign of approaching death, "The ministry was finished, so the signs were finished."

    By July Padre Pio was virtually bedridden and frequently in great pain, often unable to celebrate Mass... Pio coughed constantly and had violent fits of suffocation, relieved only when he was "able to emit an abundant, viscous expectoration." ... "I can't take it anymore! Lord, what am I doing here on earth now? Come and get me!"...

 

On Sept. 12, 1968, Padre Pio dictated a last letter to Pope Paul VI., who was overwhelmed by the worldwide criticism that followed his "birth control encyclical." Humanae Vitae, Pio told Paul:

    I  know that your heart is suffering much these days in the interest of the Church, for the peace of the world, for the innumerable necessities of the people of the world, but, above all, for the lack of obedience of some, even Catholics, to the high teachings that you, assisted by the Holy Spirit and in the name of God, are giving himself. I offer you my prayers and daily sufferings as a small but sincere contribution on the part of the least of your sons in order that God may give you comfort...
