Archbishop Gomez and the CINOP

Archbishop Gomez and the CINOP
Relentless pursuit of the truth – www.cinopsbegone.com – Thursday, December 1, 2011

Poignant excerpts from the Address of the Most Rev. Jose H. Gomez on May 14, 2011 at the Thomas Aquinas College Graduates held its 37th annual Commencement exercises. www.thomasaquinas.edu

“We have eliminated God from all the processes by which we seek knowledge about ourselves and about our world. God is no longer a factor in our methods. Hence, God is nowhere to be found among our conclusions.

“This fact has profound implications for the world you are entering into, my dear young brothers and sisters. You are entering into a culture in America and in the West that is increasingly secularized and “de-Christianized.” “Powerful interests* have been at work for decades now, seeking to erase the influence – and even the memory – of Western civilization’s Christian roots. God has been eclipsed not only in science, but also in our laws and public policies, in our arts and literature, in our schools and media.

“The goal, advocates of this effort say, is to get to a “post-Christian society.”

“They imagine a beautiful world, liberated from depending on God or superstitious or “magical” thinking. They imagine a society governed by reason and technology, dedicated to individual freedom and the pursuit of material comfort…

“Now, I believe this “goal” of a secular, post-Christian society is a seductive illusions and a trap. But that is the subject for another talk at another time.

This afternoon, I just want to point out that this mindset will be a challenge to you, dear graduates. But it forms the territory of your Christian witness and mission. This is the environment in which you are called to proclaim Christ as His disciples…”

At this point let’s access the blog letter, “Overview of Bishop Lori’s Testimony on Religious Liberty”, Thursday, Nov. 3, 2011. We must overcome the deathly silence on and about Catholic-label politicians who are voting against the three bi-partisan Congressional laws that will protect our religious liberty and conscience clause in the public sector. For example, in the Senate I recall about 12 Catholic label politicians voted against conscience protection in the Obama Health Care Law.

Now this blog focuses only on the Catholic-label politicians. But there are many Catholic-label persons who attend Church and are for partial-birth abortion or same-sex marriage or embryonic stem-cell research etc. The bishops and other religious know who they are in the community. In the name of “The Catechism of the Catholic Church” and co-religious fraternity; we belong to the same Catholic Church, cannot these persons be persuaded to talk to the CINOP to vote for these three laws. This is a most serious matter. Otherwise it will be a tragedy for the Church and our country!

George H. Kubeck,

P.S. *Who are these powerful interests? Let me personally speculate. 1) The ACLU which Bill O’Reilly of Fox News considers the most dangerous organization in the U.S.A. 2) Large misguided Corporations like Home Depot that financially supports the Homosexual Agenda. 3) The filthy rich and selected philanthropy monies going to organization that have a false interpretation of the 1st Amendment and the Separation of Church and State. Etc.
