A Budget Deficit … And a Leadership Shortfall
•The U.S. collects $2 trillion in taxes but spends almost $3.5 trillion.
•In 2009, U.S. debt increased $1.9 trillion.
•In 2010, U.S. debt is increasing at a rate of almost $2 trillion a year.
•Total current U.S. debt: more than $15 trillion.
•The U.S. government owes the Social Security trust more than $2.5 trillion.
•Total unfunded government debt: 106.4 trillion, including Social Security and Medicare!
•Your taxes need to increase 81% to fund the benefits promised to S.S. and Medicare.
•Actual unemployment combined with under-employment it 16%.
•44 million American receive food stamps.
•50 million Americans are enrolled in Medicaid.
•In August 2011, the U.S. government credit rating was downgraded for the first time ever.
•11 million Americans are upside down on their mortgages.
Though 200,000 jobs were added in recent months, Heritage’s James Sherk and Rea Hederman Jr., write, “At that pace, the unemployment rate will not return to normal levels (or 5.2%) for four and a half years – not until September 2016.” The above is dated, Feb. 14/21 – Truth in Action – P.O. Box 7009, Albert Lea, MN 56007-8009 – 1-800-98-TRUTH
THE DISASTER OF OBAMANOMICS – AMERICANS ON FOOD STAMPS IS UP 40% UNDER OBAMA
From Investor’s Business Daily: 1) 22.5 Million Americans now work for government – more than manufacturing, farming, fishing combined. 2) Real earnings have fallen for five months, and are down 1% since the end of the year. 3) Consumer price inflation is growing at a 6.1% annual rate over the last three months, while producer prices are rising an even-faster 13%. According to John Williams of the Shadow Government Statistics website, if we measure prices the way we did before 1992, inflation is now running at 10% a year (higher than Jimmy Carter’s inflation rate).
4) The U.S. dollar has fallen so much and foreign nations have so little confidence in our ability to run fiscal affairs that the “BRIC” nations – the mostly fast growing former Third World nations of Brazil, Russia, India and China – are talking about replacing the U.S. dollar in foreign trade with the Chinese yuan. 5) Just 45.4 % of Americans had jobs last year, the lowest since 1983, according to census data crunched by USA today. Among men, just 66.8% had work last year, the lowest ever. 6) The U.S. has added $6 trillion to its debt under Obama, a sure sign of being on the road to Third World status. Three years ago, the U.S. had $7.9 trillion in debt. Today, we have $14 trillion. Bankrupt hyperinflated Zimbabwe couldn’t do any better.
7) Under Obama, spending has risen farther and faster than under any president in history. At current rates, government at all levels will take up more than half of all economic activity by 2050. 8) Federal workers now earn double their counterparts in the private sector…

Down with the Lawyers: Up with the Bishops!
Down with the Lawyers: Up with the Bishops!
Relentless pursuit of the truth – www.cinopsbegonblogspot.com – Monday, February 27, 2012
I mean down with the lawyers and clerical advisors to the California Catholic Bishops in the year 2004. I made a horrible discovery yesterday after rereading the messages of Oakland’s Bishop Cordioleone and Santa Rosa’s Bishop Robert F. Vasa on the Obama’s Health and Human Services Mandate. Let’s read it again.
“What many may not know is that the requirements of the HHS mandate are almost identical to a state we have had in California for over ten years now. In fact, the 2004 decision of the State Supreme Court in the lawsuit challenging the law, Catholic Charities of Sacramento vs. Supreme Court of the State of California, ESTABLISHED QUITE EXPLICITLY THAT IT IS FOR THE STATE AND NOT THE CHURCH, TO DECIDE FOR US WHO IS AND IS NOT A CATHOLIC AND WHAT CONSTITUTES THE “INCULCATION OF RELIGIOUS VALUES.” Now the federal government has stepped way beyond the boundaries of its authority by deeply breaching the wall of separation between Church and state.” Bishop Cordileone
“In California this issue was faced a number of years ago when the State placed a similar mandate on Catholic Institutions which provide services for persons other than their own members or hire persons other than their own members. I must admit that I have not yet fully understood how this was resolved but in light of this HHS ruling it will undoubtedly be necessary to revisit the accepted “solutions.” Bishop Robert F. Vasa
George H. Kubeck
The 2004 decision by the California State Supreme Court was in violation of the First Amendment to the Constitution which reads:
Amendment 1 – Freedom of religion, speech, and the press; rights of assembly and petition
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
There are many questions to ask. Why wasn’t the 2004 decision brought to the U.S. Supreme Court? Is California’s Catholic health care insurance directly or indirectly paying for contraception, sterilization and the morning after pill? It seems that the bishops are ruled by lawyers. I do not trust these lawyers! How many of them are registered Democrats? How many of the lawyers are directly or indirectly associated with the ACLU and Planned Parenthood?
I just heard that in a USA Gallup 75% of the respondents think Obama care is unconstitutional. I believe that there is something rotten in the state of Denmark a.k.a. California, because we still have the same lawyers and clerical advisors to our California bishops. Why don’t you ask questions?

Keep the Sabbath!
Keep the Sabbath!
In pursuit of the truth – www.cinopsbegoneblogspot.com – Sunday, February 26, 2012
Here is a meditation appropriate for the first Sunday of Lent. It is from Pope Benedict XVI’s earlier work 1992, Ignatius Press- Co-Workers of the Truth – Meditations for Every Day of the Year:
In the account of creation, the Sabbath is described as the day on which, in the freedom of worship, mankind shares God’s freedom. God’s rest, and so God’s peace. To keep the Sabbath means to keep the covenant. It means going back to the beginning, removing all impurities our work has introduced into the world.
I also means leading the way to a new world – to a world in which there will no longer be slaves and masters, but only the free children of God; to a world in which men and animals will share like brothers and sisters in the peace of God and in his freedom.
By their No to the rhythm of freedom and leisure ordained for them by God, human beings have distanced themselves from their likeness to God and have trampled on the world. Therefore they had to be snatched away from their obstinate attachments to their own work; therefore God had to bring them back to their proper place by releasing them from the dominion of technology. “Operi Dei nihil praeponature” – worship first, then freedom and the rest ordained by God. Thus and only thus can we men live.
Creation is ordered to the Sabbath, which is the sign of the covenant between God and the human race. Creation is so structured that it terminates in a time of worship. Creation was made so that there would be a place for worship. It fulfills its purpose, it is in order, when it is constantly reoriented toward worship. Creation exists for the sake of worship: Operi Dei nihil praeponature, Saint Benedict says in his Rule: “Nothing is to take precedence over the service of God.”
This is not an expression of exalted piety, but a pure and practical application to our own lives of the story of creation and its message. The genuine center, the force that moves and order from within the rhythm of the stars and of our lives, is worship. Ultimately all peoples have come to know this: the creation stories of every culture affirm that the world exists for cult, for the glorification of God…

The relentless pursuit of the truth – www.cinopsbegoneblosgspot.com – Saturday, February 25, 2012
We can do it! The evidence is overwhelming. The focus is on “Media Matters.” Yes, we are going to have an Obama Watergate. Fox News is already talking about. Between today and the Nov. 6th election it must become part of our daily political conversation. They [the Two-Faced Double Standard Media] will not report on this scandal. We must call for a congressional investigation. Donations to “Media Matters” were tax-deductible. What they are doing is corrupt and illegal. The truth will bring down the Obama presidency.
“Jeffrey Lord, a former Reagan White House political director compared Watergate to the Media Matters controversy in specific ways: The use of private investigators to investigate the private lives of opponents. The involvement of White House aides in Media Matters meetings, including Valerie Jarrett and then – White House Communication Director Anita Dunn. The money trail from the White House supporters to Media Matters.” http://www.wnd.com/2012/02media-matters-tied-to-moveon-org-acorn/print
A retired teacher from Fountain Valley, Nicholas Wishek wrote a poignant article in the Orange County Register on Fri. Feb. 24th. “Why Obama wins re-election” – Despite failures, president has powerful elements on his side. [I have written about Dr. Tim Groseclose book on my website.] Excerpts are:
“Perception is formed in large part by the media and to a lesser extent by the education and entertainment industries. These institutions, and, again most importantly, the media are solidly behind the president. Liberals claim that liberal media bias is a myth and then rail about “Faux News” and talk radio.
“On the other side of the argument those like Dr. Tim Groseclose, a professor of American Politics at UCLA and author of the recently released, “Left Turn: How Liberals Media Bias Distorts the American Mind.” Groseclose, after nearly a decade of research, established what he calls a political quotient and slant quotient for politicians and media outlets. The lower the PQ number, the more conservative; the higher the PQ number, the more liberal. For instance, Newt Gingrich has a PQ of 11.4, Nancy Pelosi’s is 100.7. That sounds about right. More important is the media slant quotient. All media outlets except Fox News were decidedly on the liberal side of Dr. Groseclose’s equation.
“Groseclose estimates that this slant in media coverage gives liberal candidates an advantage of 8 percent to 10 percent in national elections. Tens of billions of dollars are spent on advertising every year to sway people toward one product or another because advertising works. This is the most reasonable explanation available to explain how our president can still reach a 50 percent approval rating in spite of ruinous policies and broken promises.
“Compare the media coverage of the Tea Party with that of the Occupy Movement. The Tea Party was demonized for opposing raising the debt limit last July and earlier was label [falsely] racist for alleged slurs against black congressmen that were never proven. The Occupy movement has behaved in absolutely reprehensible ways time after time, resulting in millions of dollars in damage, while their documented anti-Semitic slurs were largely ignored. The result was that in an October opinion poll, 65 percent of the respondents said the Tea Party’s influence was negative, while 23 percent said that they had a negative opinion of Occupy Movement.
“Contrast the media coverage of Herman Cain’s alleged sexual misdeeds with those of President Clinton… The media in the 1990s showed no equal interest in Clinton’s alleged affairs and allegations of actual rape. Cain quit the presidential race and Clinton has become a Democratic icon… “

A Foreboding and Demonic Reelection Technique - 2
Relentless pursuit of the truth – www.cinopsbegoneblogspot.com – Friday, February 24, 2012
Anna Louise Strong was a loyal American Bolshevik. In a July 1953 report, Congress described her as “one of the most active agents for the Communist International.” She did dutiful propaganda work for Moscow, shamelessly arguing that Stalin had ‘conquered wheat,’ even publishing a widely read pamphlet by that name, when, in fact, Stalin launched a famine that killed millions.
Among Strong’s propaganda work was to enlist Protestant clergy against the Catholic Church. One egregious example was an incendiary letter to the editor Strong placed in the October-November 1941 issue of The Protestant. There, she made the claim that the Vatican was calling for religious freedom in the USSR not because the Soviets were blowing up churches, killing priests, and gulaging nuns, but because the Church was seeking control of Russia. This was ludicrous, but it was just what some anti-Cath. Protestants wanted to hear.
That letter from Strong was so deceptive and such blatant Soviet propaganda that it was highlighted by Congress in a major report on subversive activities by American communists. Among the communist organs that Anna Louise Strong, wrote for was the “Chicago Star,” known to locals as the “Red Star.” THE EDITOR-IN-CHIEF AND CO-FOUNDER OF THE STAR WAS OBAMA’S CHILDHOOD MENTOR, FRANK MARSHALL DAVIS, WHO WAS A CARD-CARRYING MEMBER OF U.S. COMMUNIST PARTY.
Davis, too, targeted the Catholic Church. He wrote articles with titles like “The church’s weakness,” reprimanding Rome, the American bishops, and the Catholic laity for their anti-communism. In an October 1947 piece, Davis growled that “the Catholic hierarchy” had launched a “holy war against communism.” Indeed it had.
As communists knew well, the Roman Catholic Church had been issuing scathing indictments of communism since the publication of Marx’s Communist Manifesto in 1948 – yes, that far back – not to mention in the encyclicals by Pope Leo XIII, Pope Pius X, and others. Communists were furious when the Catholic Church issued a brilliant, blistering 1937 encyclical on atheistic communism, titled Divini Redemptoris, which called communism a “satanic scourge.” Committed communists like Frank Marshall Davis thus took on the Church.
Davis left the Chicago Star in 1948 to head for Hawaii, where he wrote for another communist-controlled newspaper, the Honolulu Record, and where he continued to confront the Catholic Church. In one column, titled “Challenged to the Church” (Sep. 29, 1949), Davis framed communism as friendly to Christianity and anti-communism as un-Christian. An atheist, Davis painted an image of Judgment Day, where anti-communist Christian would be called to account for opposing communism… In another typical column from this period, Frank Marshall Davis referred to anti-communist Christians as “the Pontius Pilates of 1949.”
In short, American communists and the radical left generally have long targeted the Roman Catholic Church. They know their enemy, one that is both spiritual and eternal. They have long attempted to pit Protestants and Catholics against each other. It’s an old art, really, that’s today totally forgotten.
And so, is this tactic being resurrected right now under Barack Obama? Is this more of the “fundamental transformation” we were promised – elected by oblivious Americans in Nov. 2008. If Obama can frame his mandate as a matter of contraceptive freedom – rather than an obvious constitutional affront on religious liberty – he may be able to successfully pit large number of Protestants and even many Catholics against the institutional Catholic Church.

Obama’s Catholic Church Gambit: Lessons from American Communists – Wed. Feb. 22, 2012 from prolifenewss@yayoo.com – Reply to prolifenews-owner@yahoogroups.com
A fascinating theory has been advanced by Dick Morris, which, in turn, is being considered by Rush Limbaugh and other leading conservatives. [Not only by conservatives but by all Americans:]
Morris speculates that the Obama HHS mandate on contraception, sterilization, and abortifacients is a fight with the Catholic Church that Team Obama wants – and with the focused based narrowly on contraception, not abortifacients.
Dick Morris may be right. It seems no accident that Obama publicly noted that the vast majority of Catholic women use contraception. Yes, the vast majority does, but the vast majority does not support abortifacients – that is, “contraceptive” drugs that cause or induce an abortion.
Obama is underscoring “contraception” generally, not abortifacients specifically.
Sadly, our superficial media, which reflexively ramrods everything into a 10-second sound-bite, is aiding and abetting his tactic. Again and again, I hear reporters refer to Obama’s mandate not as a mandate on “contraception, sterilization, and abortion-inducing drugs” (which it is), but as simply one on “contraception.”
If Obama can successfully frame the debate that way, which should be easy with the American public, he can make great headway on this assault on the Roman Catholic Church. He will appeal to much appeal to many apathetic Roman Catholics as well as many Protestants who disagree with the Catholic Church on contraception.
Among non-evangelical Protestants, Obama will find lots of sympathy from the liberal mainline denominations that flew off the hinges decades ago, and some of which are members of the hideous Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice. Their split with Rome over matters of birth has roots in the Episcopal Church’s embrace of contraception a century ago.
Speaking of a century ago, if this is indeed a gambit by Obama to pit religious believers against the Catholic Church, it would be nothing new from the radical left. Consider some examples. In my book, Dupes, I shared the case of Anna Louise Strong. Strong was an editor to the flagship publication of the communist from “Friends of the Soviet Union,” which masterfully manipulated progressive like Upton Sinclair.
We published a photo of Strong and Sinclair together on the “Friends” editorial page, where a stoic Sinclair vows to “expose the lies and slander” against poor old Joe Stalin – maligned by those mean American anticommunists…

“Rep. Pelosi insisted that Democrats bring her San Francisco values to the entire country with the first-ever endorsement of same-sex “marriage” at the party’s national convention.
“Even those who support counterfeit marriage recognize the major divisions this fight could bring, especially in moderate districts where it could cost Democrats votes. Even the most liberal President in history wouldn’t comment on Pelosi’s statement. [The Obama regime and his Czars have been promoting same-sex marriage directly and indirectly with their policies.]
“In Maryland, neither party has that luxury. Ever since CINOP Gov. Martin O’Malley (d) wife called marriage supporters “cowards” the friction between the two sides has only grown… the state Assembly could barely pass the bill to legalize same-sex “marriage” last Friday and on its way to the Senate. The Maryland Catholic Conference had more than 600 people register for the annual lobbying night – the most ever – in a last ditch effort to block the bill…
“In Washington State, where leaders ignored the opposition and signed a similar bill into law, PreserveMarriageWashington.com was prepared. The group set its referendum movement into motion the minute it became official. Under state law, voters literally have until D-Day, June 6, to collect 120,577 signatures for what locals are calling R-74, or Referendum 74… log on to the website and volunteer!
“Fortunately, New Jersey voters didn’t have to resort to a ballot initiative because Gov. Chris Christie stood by his long term promise and vetoed a bill to redefine marriage in the Garden State… “I am adhering to what I’ve said since this bill was first introduced – an issue of this magnitude and importance, which requires a constitutional amendment, should be left to the people of New Jersey to decide.”
“In the meantime the media [the two-faced, double standard one] will do what it can to persuade people that are conservatives [40% of the population] are losing momentum. Don’t believe it. Some legislators can be bought, but the American people cannot…
“[ In other matters, the contraception and abortion drug rule [HHS Mandate, a.k.a. Hell’s Human Sex Mandate] has already launched seven lawsuits… the Alliance Defense Fund yesterday, joined Priests for Life and Ava Maria University in fighting to strike down the policy…
George H. Kubeck –
The Catholic Church must recognize that we have serious problems with the Catholic-in-name-only politician. (CINOP) Specifically, if the Archbishop in San Francisco is unwilling to censor CINOP Nancy Pelosi and ask her not to use the Catholic label when she runs for office, then he should resign. Likewise all Catholic label organizations; those are unwilling to do the same; then they should not use the Catholic label. It’s time to think about this matter and act.

Cardinal T. Dolan Q. and A. on Homosexuality
Cardinal Timothy Dolan Q. &A. on Homosexuality
In pursuit of the truth – www.cinopsbegoneblogspot.com – Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2012
We have excerpts from the book: A People of Hope – “Archbishop Timothy Dolan in Conversation with John L. Allen Jr.” – 2012 – Random House – p. 66-68
1.What is the Church actually saying to homosexuals?
First of all, we’re saying that it’s absurd to identify yourself with your sexual urges. When somebody comes to me, as people often do, and says, “I must tell you, I am a homosexual,” or “I am gay,” I say. “Well thanks for your confidence. Nice to meet you, sit down, you’re welcome here, but as a matter of fact, no you’re not. You happen to be John Jones, who is a child of God and redeemed by the blood of his only begotten Son, destined to spend eternity with him.
When God looks at you, he sees a work of art. That’s who you are. You happen to be sexually attracted to men, but that doesn’t define who you are.” Now, I happen to think that’s rather liberating, it’s ennobling, but our culture doesn’t see that. There’s the great challenge, to make people see that we are not our sexual urges.
A church, or any authority, like a parent, who would stand up and say this is who you are, this is your birthright, and there are certain things you can and can’t do because it detracts from who you are, this is thought to be verboten today. For some reason, we have put our foot in our mouth when we have tried to say these things, and I don’t know how we get out from that. I’d like to think we’re the best friend of humanity, no matter what their urges might be or what their inclinations might be, because for all that is secondary to who we are: children of God, made in his image and likeness…
2. If somebody come to you and says, my attraction is same-sex but I want to be a faithful Catholic, the only thing you can say is that they’re called to a life of chastity. You can understand how that’s a tough call sell.
It is, but chastity is not just an expectation of people with a same-sex attraction. I can tell story after story from being a parish priest. I once had a man in his mid-thirties, at the peak of everything, with a wife who had become an invalid, and he’s going to have to be a celibate the rest of his life as far as sexual urges go, because she cannot engage in sex. Does he live a faithful, happy, whole life? You bet he does.
Would he change it for anything in the world? No. He, a married man, is called, is called to heroic chastity for the rest of his life. It goes back to our pivotal teaching on sexuality, which is that sexuality mirrors the love God has for us, so it has to have those same characteristics, meaning lifelong, life-giving, and faithful. Anything outside of that can’t do. I understand that’s a very tough sell, but fundamentally it’s a very positive, beautiful vision of human love. A lifelong, life-giving, faithful marriage between a man and a woman, open to children, is, simply put, the only way God intends sexual love to be expressed.
George H. Kubeck –
Does the gay homosexual agenda speak for homosexuals? I doubt it. For example, homosexuals have never been polled on same-sex marriage. They all had a mother and father. Would they choose to be adopted by same-sex couples? Gay relationships are contrary to natural law and the Catechism of the Catholic Church. It is in the best interests of homosexuals that we have legalized Proposition 8 that marriage is between a man and woman. All the propaganda about equality and civil rights are gay political correctness and irrational. In like manner the editorial in the Los Angeles Times on SB. 48 make sense to me as a retired public school teacher.

Letter Bishops read at Masses vs. HHS Mandate
Letters Bishops read at Masses vs. HHS Mandate
In pursuit of the truth – www.cinopsbegoneblogspot.com –Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2012
Preface: Now that the bishops have spoken out; when will the laity in the public arena? More than 115 U.S. Bishops read letters or inserted them into parish bulletins on Jan. 29th in opposition to HHSM.
l. One of the strongest letters* was issued by Bishop Fabian Bruskewitz of Lincoln, Neb., who said Catholics may be asked to suffer to maintain their Catholic beliefs. He also attacked HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius as a “bitter fallen-away-Catholic.” “We cannot and will not comply with this unjust decree. Like the martyrs of old<” Bruskewitz wrote in a letter he ordered to be read at all Masses, “we must be prepared to accept suffering which could include heavy fines and imprisonment. “Our American religious liberty is in grave jeopardy,” he explained. “This means that all of our Catholic schools, hospitals, social service agencies, and the like will be forced to participate in evil.”… [*Paul Likoudis wrote this article in “The Wanderer”- Feb. 9, 2012]
2. In Phoenix, Bishop Thomas Olmstead denounced the HHH regulations for making Catholics “second-class citizens,” “stripped of their God-given rights.
3. In Marquette, Mich., Bishop Alexander Sample said that when the rules go into effect next year – unless repealed by congressional legislation – “we Catholics will be compelled to either violate our consciences, or to drop health coverage for our employees and suffer the penalties for doing so.
4. In a letter to the faithful of New Orleans, Archbishop Gregory Aymond appealed for Catholics to take action against the regulation, describing the mandate as an “unprecedented attack on religious liberty” by which the state is “violating our rights to make choices based on our moral and Church teaching.”
5. Bishop David Zubik of Pittsburgh said the new HHS mandate “comes like a slap in the face.” “It is really had to believe that it happened. It comes like a slap in the face. “The Obama administration has just told the Catholics in the United States, ‘TO HELL WITH YOU!’ THERE IS NO OTHER WAY TO PUT IT… “We’ll give you a year, they are saying, and then you have to knuckle under. As Cardinal-designate Timothy Dolan, archbishop of New York and president of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops responded, ‘in effect, the president is saying that we have a year to figure out how to violate our consciences.’
6. In the Diocese of Peoria, Ill. Bishop Daniel Jenky asked that the faithful say the Prayer to St. Michael at all Masses until the issue is resolved. [ Health and Human Service Mandate a.k.a. Hell’s Human Sex Mandate.]
7. Bishop Paul Loverde of Arlington, Va., said: “I am absolutely convinced that an unprecedented and very dangerous line has been crossed that goes to the heart of the freedom of religion, and that this action does intolerable violence to our First Amendment rights,” and he called on the faithful to “be prepared to engage in a strong defense in the civil arena of the basic human right of religious liberty.”
8. In Harrisburg, Pa., Bishop Joseph McFadden asked that his letter be read in all parishes. He said the HHS mandate is “an alarming and serious matter that poses the greatest threat to religious liberty in our lifetimes. He asked parishioners to “prayerfully and respectfully make known your objections to this intolerable ruling and insist that your rights of conscience as a Catholic citizen be restored.”
George H. Kubeck: There is a need to evangelize in Orange County, California. It is more than pro-life. There is a war against the family. Whoever wrote Bishop Todd Brown’s “HHS Mandate & Religious Liberty” should resign?

“Richard Viguerie, a conservative activist for more than 50 years and the pioneer of direct mail advertizing, told LifeSiteNews.com , “About 75 percent of the Republican Party is conservative, and 25 percent is more centrist/moderate. Romney’s been stuck in the mid-20s for about 5 1/2 years.
“Viguerie, who operates the website ConservativeHQ.com said, “At the beginning of the process, that 75% was divided among lots of people. Now it’s getting winnowed out, and the last conservative standing Rick Santorum.” “Viguerie said he sees a clear path to the nomination for Santorum “if two things happen: one, if he can raise the money. He doesn’t have to raise Romney money, but he has to raise enough to be competitive.”
“Second, “if the conservative movement endorses Santorum,” he said, “then I think it will be impossible to stop him.” Santorum, who narrowly won the Iowa caucuses, revived his momentum by sweeping three contests last week in Colorado, Minnesota, and Missouri.
“Gary Bauer told LifeSiteNews.com Santorum is doing well because this year “voters are looking for a presidential candidate who they can trust to keep American military strong, economically vibrant, and also understands the values and cultural issues that are confronting our nation.” On the level of retail politics, “His blue collar background helps him connect with the average guy. His pro-life, pro-family views help him connect with every American who knows our values deficit matters, too.”
“Deal Hudson, president of the Catholic Advocate, said the Santorum surge “is a tribute to his political courage” and a sign that grassroots Republicans “are demanding a nominee who can be relied upon, not only to undo the excesses of the present administration, but also reaffirm [our] basic principles and values.” 2-17-12- http://www.lifesitenews.com/ polls-surge-because-the-last-conservative-standing-is-ricksantorum …
“59% of Catholics Disapprove of Obama’s Job Performance:” – A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 59% of likely Catholic voters nationwide at least somewhat disapprove of the president’s job performance, while 40% at least somewhat approve. But the passion’s on the side of those who don’t like the job he’s doing: 44% Strongly Disapprove versus 19% who strongly Approve. http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/obama 2-14-12
54% of Catholics voted for Obama in Nov. 2008. However, Republican hopeful Mitt Romney currently leads the president among Catholic voters by a 52% to 35% margin. Among all voters, however, President Obama leads Romney and all Republicans hopefuls…
Regardless of religious affiliation, disapproval is higher among those who regularly attend religious services. Among those who attend services every week or nearly every week, 41% offer their approval of the president while 59% disapprove. Among those who rarely or never attend services. 63% approve and 36% disapprove.

Tough Love for Catholic Religious and Laity
Tough Love for Catholic Religious and Laity
The relentless pursuit of the truth – www.cinopsbegoneblogspot.com – Saturday, February 18, 2012
Preface: If you are registered Democrat you have problem. Our Democratic President Barack Hussein Obama has enacted a Health and Human Services Mandate a.k.a. (HHSM) Hell’s Human Sex Mandate. This mandate seriously violates our Catholic faith, other Christian faiths, and the First Amendment to the Constitution. This is the most serious Church and state crisis in U.S. history.
Don’t count on the President to change his mind. But he may. Thus far in three years of his secular policies our country has changed from pro-choice to pro-life. Thank you Mr. President. [One of his most disgusting other secular policy is the promotion of same-sex marriage.]
Hear the last part of Patrick J. Buchanan editorial in the Wanderer, Feb. 9, 2012. “Not only should the bishops file suit in the federal court against the president and Sebelius for violation of the constitutional principle of church and state, they should inform the White House that no bishop will give an invocation at the Democratic Convention.”
“Then, they should inform the White House that in the last two weeks of the 2012 campaign, priests in every parish will read from the pulpit at Sunday Mass a letter denouncing Obama as anti-Catholic for denying the Church its right to live according to its beliefs. If Obama loses the Catholic vote, he loses the election. The White House will come around fast. Rely upon it.”
Tough Love’s Purpose: As a more than 40 year long member of the “Catholic League for Religious and Civil Rights” and subscriber to the “Monthly Mindszenty Report”; and 16 year member of the Knights of Columbus Cypress Council 8599 and 10 year member of the Knights of Columbus Mission San Juan Assembly #62: I call upon you to proceed with a divorce from the Democratic Party. The beliefs of this party that you joined years ago don’t exist anymore. Do it quietly and register as an independent. The Democratic Party today is anathema to common sense, reason and natural law and the Catechism of the Catholic Church. Our bishops with a few exceptions have spoken out. Now is the time for laity.
I sincerely believe that if Nancy Pelosi was registered as a Republican or Independent, she would have been excommunicated years ago. It has been delayed in her case and many others for example Governor Jerry Brown because of the registration of Catholic clerics with the Democratic Party.
I do subscribe to the Catholic magazines, America, Commonweal, and U.S. Catholic. Their reportage of the Church/State crisis is shameful and pathetic. Their liberal and democratic mindset is, “How can we still support President Obama and deal with this HHS Mandate – a.k.a. “Hell’s Human Sex Mandate.” Sadly many of our bishops and religious read these without balance magazines.
This blog will continue to focus on education. For example, Senator Marco Rubio has a bill to repeal regulations issued by the Obama administration. On Catholic News Agency’s web site, a reader name “Patrick” wrote a comment about Rubio’s bill, saying, in part: “Yesterday, I listened to a monsignor on the radio discussing the current mandate controversy. He was asked if he would vote for Obama again. He said he was not sure because the efforts of the Democrats for the poor outweigh this and the abortion issue.” “That is complete nonsense; I was ashamed to hear this from a priest of the Church… Any Catholic who votes for Obama votes for the increased persecution of the Church & the destruction of liberty in America.”

Judie Brown, I Couldn't Sleep
Judie Brown, I Couldn’t Sleep
In pursuit of the truth – www.cinopsbegoneblogspot.com – Thursday, February 16, 2012
Friend,
I am sorry for the hour or this email. I simply can’t sleep.
No one else will say it, so I will. The President is evil. He continually lies directly to the faces of people of faith, to our Catholic Bishops, to everyone. Yet they give him a pass. They think he is someone he is not. He is a liar. He thinks we are rubes, “clinging to God.” His unconstitutional birth control “mandate.” Crafted and formed in private meetings with Cecile Richards, the President of Planned Parenthood, is intended to force Catholics and Christians to violate their faith, their core beliefs. To say no to God, and yes to Barak.
We won’t. He has awoken a sleeping giant. Stand with me today. Your American Life League has been included in an Amicus Brief suing Barak Obama and the federal government to overturn this unconstitutional breach of our First Amendment rights of freedom of religion. The fact the blood zealots of Planned Parenthood are helping form and create national policy should not surprise you, the President has proven time and time again, he is who we thought he was.
Your donation today will help provide the resources we need to wage our battle in the courts. Please give as generously as you can, the enemy is well funded. Please consider a gift of $3-$15 or more.
Stand with the American Life League. Support us today; we need your prayers and your financial support to wage this battle.
This fight is just beginning.

George H. Kubeck, Please make a small contribution. My family’s contribution last year was $120. Most well-informed persons who believe in traditional America feel the same way as Judie Brown.
We have to fight this war by the Obama regime against American values. Obama came to town this morning in California and is collecting million of dollars from the filthy rich elite who are promoting the culture of death.
Also, purchase Judie’s classic book, ($15.) “The Broken Path” – How Catholic Bishops Got Lost in the Weeds of American Politics – 2012. It is a necessary informational & tough love book for all Christian to digest & ponder.

The relentless pursuit of the truth – www.cinopsbegoneblogspot.com – Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2012
But wait the Obama regime have a truth squad and they can respond on this blog. Here is why I can’t vote for Barack Hussein Obama. This is my page .By the way I did not vote for him in 2008.
I thought President Obama will unite the country. Instead he is using class warfare to divide us. I believed that he will abide by the Constitution. No, he does not believe in the U.S. Constitution.
He wants to transform America into a nation we are not. When he became our President, I thought that he would reduce the number of people on food stamps and create jobs in the private sector. That’s what a leader does! Instead he has deliberately expanded the number of people on food stamps. He is truly the food stamp president, and with his teleprompter a demagogue.
Also he has expanded government and its bureaucracy and believes that this will create jobs. But it does the opposite. Private enterprise creates jobs. That’s where we create jobs and confidence in the economy. Brainwashing and changing the nature of the American citizen is wrong. With the expansion of entitlement programs he has deliberately created the votes for his reelection.
I was just listening to Dennis Prager on KLAC 890 talk radio. (9-12 noon). “The bigger the government, the smaller the citizen.” If possible reference http://www.prageruniversity.com
Personally, what is deeply disturbing to me is his whole approach to the black American family. He seems to be blind to the reality that abortion is killing the nature and overall health of the black American family. He encourages abortion. This is a kind of black genocide. He has a misguided and destructive mindset fixed on abortion. For example: he does not want his daughter to be punished with a baby. This will interfere with her future and abortion is a good decision.
President Obama said that he was going to cut our deficit in half. Instead he has increased the deficit by 4 to 5 trillion. He is blind to the reality that in our lifetime we will experience an American Greece. With all of the above, we have never had such inexperienced leadership in our Presidents.
The Obama care bureaucrats will cut right into our personal health care lives. It is unconstitutional. Obama has installed Czars into our government and all of that is repugnant. They have a deep animus to all of our traditional Americans values. They think that they are much smarter than us, particularly when we are Catholics or other Christians. Members of the pro-life movement are considered second-class citizens. This historic arrogance is unmatched in American history.
The Czars have a mindset where they consider sex as a recreational activity. That’s one way they promote same-sex marriage and want to change the three thousand year old definition of marriage. There is also this HHS Mandate which violates all Churches 1st amendment rights. It will be a breadth of fresh air and freedom to vote Obama and all of his CINOP supporters including Assemblyman Jose Solorio, Senator Lou Correa, and Congresswomen Loretta Sanchez out of office.

Obamacare's 'Free Lunch' Arrives
Obamacare’s ‘Free Lunch” Arrives
The relentless pursuit of the truth – Tuesday, February 14, 2012
Preface: Let’s have every newspaper in the nation come out with this kind of editorial which was published in the Orange County Register, Orange County, California. (Friday, Feb. 10, 2012).
Mandatory coverage for contraception, abortifacients enrages religious groups:
Thomas Jefferson said: “To compel a man to subsidize with his taxes the propagation of ideas which he disbelieves and abhors is sinful and tyrannical.”
The third president wasn’t Catholic and, arguably, probably not Christian. But he understood that for the government to compel people to pay for something they find morally repugnant is “sinful and tyrannical.” The 44th president [Barack Hussein Obama] clearly thinks otherwise.
Catholic hospitals and charities are discovering the harm inherent in President Barack Obama’s intrusive health care law. They are joined by many others, including, Lutheran, Jewish and Evangelical Christian groups, vehemently protesting mandates that employers must provide contraceptive and abortifacient coverage [including morning after pill], even when it violates their constitutionally protected religious beliefs. We join their complaint.
President Obama has elevated his vision of “enormous health benefits’ for women by mandating those services, despite the blatant violation of the First Amendment’s guarantee of free exercise of religion.
Florida Republican Sen. Marco Rubio characterized the mandate as an assault on “the constitutional right of religious expression,” while Republican House Speaker John Boehner, like Mr. Rubio, a Catholic, concurred and vowed to stop the regulation. Even “a handful of high-prolife Catholic Democrats are bailing on the president and joining the GOP chorus,” Politico reported.
Unfortunately, many, including Catholic organizations, paved the way for such government intrusion with years of support for the ever-expanding role of Washington in private matters under the guise of doing good. Now they are learning at what cost. Obamacare’s virtually open-ended regulatory scheme gives government the power to dictate whatever the government deems necessary.
For decades, the entitlement-minded willingly accepted government-bestowed benefits in return for giving up freedoms… such as tax-payer-subsidized pharmaceutical drugs, in return for voluntary compliance with rules determined by the government on eligibility, cost and coverage. If you want federal benefits you must do what the government demands…
“We have known for a long time where Obamacare’s implementation was heading,” said Matthew Staver, head of Liberty Counsel Action, a nonprofit advocacy group dedicated to advocating religious freedom. Now Obamacare has reached the ultimate phase of government intrusion.
Voluntary compliance is not an option… You will be forced to pay for even what many abhor.

Unfit For Public Office
UNFIT FOR PUBLIC OFFICE
In pursuit of the truth – www.cinopsbegoneblogspot.com – Monday, February 13, 2012
Ref. California Catholic Daily – 1-25-2012 – Santa Rosa Bishop Robert Vasa says, “Any government leader, particularly those who claim to be Christian, who claims to be pro-choice, is unworthy of public office.” Politicians who support abortion are “as guilty of abortion as those who choose it themselves,” he told the rally at Old Courthouse Square in Santa Rosa, California.
The following are more excerpts from California Catholic Daily, 1-25-2012 – Santa Rosa bishop says pro-abortion Catholic politicians “excommunicate themselves,” shouldn’t receive communion.
Readers Comments:
Professor Helen: We lay Catholics in the front lines (I teach at a secular college) have been saying this for decades. Not because we are without sin but because of the scandal and rebellion the public Catholics give to the entire community and GET AWAY WITH IT. You said it Bishop now DO IT.
Traditional Angelo: Most bishops remain silent about pro-abortion politicians, refusing to take any action against them. When Bishop Vasa refers to “It’s a land of the imprisoned and home of the cowards.” I believe he was making a direct reference to our Catholic leaders. But he answers for all of them. Those bishops don’t have to excommunicate the pro-choicers; they have already excommunicated themselves according to Cannon Law. Thank God the Holy Father is now replacing yesterday’s Bishops with men more worthy of office.
Sandra: There are “practicing Catholics” and there are “Cafeteria Catholics” and then there are ‘Catholics in name only.’ The Lord “knows” His true sheep and He will gather them up. We know in our souls where we stand. Those politicians know where they stand. We pray that they will get right with the Lord and His Church. Jill: May the Holy Spirit continue to work through Bishop Vasa. We sorely need wise and courageous leaders.
Fredi D’Alessio: Bishop Vasa is my man. You can read some of his excellent commentaries at fjdalessio.wordpress.com/category/by-bishop-vasa. Thank God for priests/bishops like him!
Victor Claveau: People must be made to understand that to support a pro-abortion candidate, places their soul in serious jeopardy. The church teaches that if a knowledgeable Catholic, (one who understands the Church’s position that abortion is an intrinsic evil), votes for a pro-abortion candidate when there is a pro-life alternative on the ballot, they excommunicate themselves from the Catholic Church.
Mary: So-called Catholic politicians who publicly support the killing of the baby in the womb are causing grave scandal to the public. Even though they are excommunicating themselves with their support they need to be made a public example and be formally excommunicated and denied Holy Communion. They are wolves in sheep clothing.
George H. Kubeck- 2-13-12- “For the good of souls, Nancy Pelosi must be denied Holy Communion and the Catholic people should be informed that she is being denied Holy Communion,” wrote Fr. John Zuhlsdorf (aka Fr.Z) on his blog on Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2012. On his In the Light of the Law blog, Dr. Peters writes that Pelosi is perhaps the best case for applying canon 915 in the United States. Last Wednesday, a CNSnews.com reporter asked Pelosi if she would stand with her fellow Catholics in resisting the contraception mandate… In reply, Pelosi, a self-professed devout Catholic, said, “First of all, I am going to stick with my fellow Catholics in supporting the Administration on this…”

In pursuit of the truth – www.cinopsbegoneblogspot.com - Sunday, February 12, 2012
For believers and non-believers, Pope Benedict XVI has a beloved love letter written in 1986.*
Men are created in the image and likeness of God (cf.Gen1:26-27). Heaven and earth meet in them. In them God enters into his creation; they are in a direct relationship with God. The Word of God in the Old Testament applies to every individual: “I call you by name; you are mine.”
Every individual is known and is loved by God. Every individual has been willed by God. The source of the deeper and greater unity among men lies in the fact that all of us, every individual person, fulfill the one same purpose of God, issue from the same creative idea of God. That is what the Bible tells us. Whoever lays violent hands upon a man lays violent hands upon God’s own possession (cf. Gen 9:5-6).
Human life is under the special protection of God because each person – however lowly or exalted, however sick and suffering, however useless or impotent, “whether born or unborn”, however fatally ill or abounding in health – because each person bears in himself the breadth of God, each one is in the image of God. This is the deepest source of the inviolability of human dignity, and it is ultimately this that is the foundation of every civilization.
Where man is no longer believed to be under God’s protection, to have God’s breadth in him, then people begin to asses him from a “utilitarian point of view.” The there appears the barbarity that tramples on human dignity. And vice versa: where it clear that a man is in direct relationship to God, then the spiritual and moral spheres are plainly in evidence.
In the New Testament, Christ is called the second Adam, the last Adam; he is called the image of God (e.g. Cor 15:44-48; Col 1:15). That means that it is only in him that we have the full answer to the question: What is a human being? Only in him does the deepest meaning of this prototype become apparent. He is the last man, and creation is, at it were, a preview for him.
Hence we can say: a human being is a being that can become the brother or sister of Jesus Christ. Even while we are preoccupied with the mystery of creation, the mystery of the grain of wheat that must die in order to truly to rise, truly to be raised up, to be truly itself (cf. Jn 12:24). Man cannot be understood solely in terms of heredity or of that isolated fragment that we call present.
Each person is oriented towards the future; only the future will reveal what that person really is (cxf.1 Jn. 3:2). “We must always look upon other men as persons with whom we shall one day share God’s joy.” We must see them as persons with whom we are called to be members of the body of Christ, with whom we shall one day sit at the table of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, at the table of Jesus Christ, as persons to be our brothers or sisters, and to be, with us, the brothers and sisters of Jesus Christ, children of God.

On the HHS Mandate- Archbishop Jose Gomez - 2 of 2
In pursuit of the truth – www.cinopsbegoneblogspot.com – Saturday, February 11, 2012
And more and more, Church agencies are now treated as if they are arms of the government. Increasingly, these agencies are expected to serve and submit to the government’s agendas and priorities.
None of this is good for our democracies or our individual liberties.
America’s founders knew that a strong civil society and flourishing faith communities are our last best protection against tyranny – against government becoming too big and all-powerful and all-controlling in our lives.
That this why this new mandate has struck such a nerve – not only with Catholics and other believers, but also with millions of our fellow citizens.
People are realizing that if the government denies our fundamental freedom to hold religious beliefs and to order our lives according to these beliefs, then there is no real freedom for anyone.
This new mandate moves us closer to what Pope Benedict XVI warned against in his first encyclical, Deus Caritas Est (“God is Love”): “The state which would provide everything into itself … a state which regulates and controls everything.”
When I first wrote about this new mandate two weeks ago, I said this is a time for Catholic action and Catholic voices. This is still the time.
We need to defend our rights as Catholics. Not only to pray and worship. But also to be able to express our faith through our Catholic institutions and to make our own contribution to the decisions that affect the common good and future of our society.
We also need to help our political leaders understand what is at stake in this debate. My brother bishops and I in the U.S. Catholic Conference of Bishops are supporting legislation that would rescind this unjust policy.
For more information and take action, visit the U.S. bishops’ website: http://www.usccb.org/issues-and-action/religious-liberty/conscience-protection/index.cfm
Let’s pray for another this week. And let’s ask Mary Immaculate, Patroness of the United States, to pray for our country.

The federal government’s new mandate – requiring Catholic charities, schools, universities and hospitals to supply employees with health insurance that covers birth control, sterilization and abortion-inducing drugs – has become maybe the most controversial issue of the day.
I’ve been inspired by the unified reaction from our Catholic community. The bishops of almost every diocese in the country have spoken out. So have our largest Catholic institutions. Many individual Catholics – of every political opinion – have united in opposition.
Other religious groups and many other Americans have also joined the protest – because this new mandate, of course, affects every employer in America. As this debate continues, it is important to remember that the Catholic Church did not choose this conflict.
The Church wants to be a partner with our neighbors and our government in building a more just and peaceful society – a society more worthy of the dignity of the human person who is the image of God. The Church’s mission in our society is to teach, heal and to care for others; to pray and lead our neighbors to God.
Our freedom to carry out our mission is totally threatened by this mandate. But we are not just protecting our own parochial interests. As I have said, the issues at stake go far beyond the morality of contraception. ‘This government mandate threatens the basic character of our society and puts every Americans freedom at risk.’ America was founded to be a diverse society with many layers of institutions and affiliations.
America’s founders understood that human life is more than politics or economics. They created structures of government and an economic system intended to promote individual liberty. They also created a space of freedom in which a rich “civil society” could grow – all sorts of independent churches and religions, neighborhood groups, clubs, volunteer organizations, trade unions, leagues, charities, foundations and more.
“In the founders’ vision of civil society, churches and religious agencies held a special place. They believed that religion was essential for democracy to flourish because religion instills the values and virtues people need for self government.” That is why the First Amendment protects churches and individuals from the government meddling in what they believe, or in how they express and live out those beliefs. That’s also why the government has always felt comfortable providing funding for Church charities and ministries that serve the common good of all Americans.
What is happening in recent decades is that government at all levels has been exerting greater influence in almost every area of American life. In the process, non-governmental institutions are being crowded out of our public life. Civil society is shrinking and the influence of civic associations in our lives is getting weaker. The rights and freedoms of churches are increasingly restricted by court orders and government policies. ‘Religious freedom is now reduced to the freedom to pray and to go to church.’…

Obama's Secular Religion vs. Christianity
Obama’s Secular Religion vs. Christianity
The relentless pursuit of the truth – www.cinopsbegoneblogspot.com – Friday, February 10, 2012
Cardinal-Designate Timothy Dolan told CBS 2’s Marcia Kramer, “The federal government should do what it’s traditionally done since July 4, 1776, namely back out of intruding into the internal life of a church.” [Most of the following info came from LifeSiteNews.com in February.]
Archbishop Timothy Broglie, who leads the Roman Catholic Diocese for the Military Services, wrote a letter to be read at all Sunday Masses for U.S. military personnel around the world that said that a regulation issued by the Obama Administration under the new federal health care law was a “blow” to a freedom that U.S. troops have not only to defend but for which some have recently died in battle. “We cannot – we will not – comply with this unjust law.”
65 canonical bishops of the Orthodox Church have asked President Barack Obama and the Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius to repeal the mandate that religious institutions provide birth control, sterilization, and Plan B abortion drugs in their heath care coverage.
“The First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution guarantees the free exercise of religion,” the statement says. “This freedom is transgressed when a religious institution is required to pay for ‘contraceptive services’ including abortion-inducing drugs and sterilization services that directly violate their religious convictions.”
Speaker John Boehner said either Obama reverses the policy or the House will. “The federal government has drifted dangerously beyond its constitutional boundaries. This attack by the federal government on religious freedom in our country must not stand and will not stand.”
Catholic League President Bill Donahue said he is willing to bring the church’s 70 million voters to bear on the President in November if the mandate isn’t overturned. “Never before, unprecedented in American history, [has] the federally government line [d] up against the Roman Catholic Church,” he said. 168 Catholic bishops are going to the mat on the rule, about 90% of all U.S. dioceses. And is more than 154 Congressman are lining up beside them. “This radical mandate … is an attack on the religious freedoms guaranteed to all Americans by the Bill of Rights.
The HHS Mandate is an abortion mandate, as it extends to drugs that can induce abortion such as plan B and Ella, a sister drug to RU-486. The mandate has been criticized by all but eight Catholic bishops heading dioceses in U.S. [As of Feb. 8, 2012]
Non-cleric Catholic writer Peggy Noonan declared, “There was no reason to make this ruling – none. Except ideology.” Even the Washington Post went to bat for the Church and in today’s Orange County Register the editorial opposed CINOP Sebelius’s HHS Mandate. I heard in Orange County Pastor Ric Warren would go to jail than abide by the HHS Mandate.
George H. Kubeck – The President this morning wants to shift the matter to the Insurance companies. They will be required to pay for this free so called free preventive care that will keep women from being punished with babies. Our taxes will pay for all of this. We are dealing with a master of deception.

Commentary on "The Unfit for Public Office"
Commentary on “The Unfit for Public Office”
In pursuit of the truth – www.cinopsbegoneblogspot.com – Wednesday, February 8, 2012
We had a breadth of fresh air blowing in last night. It came from Minnesota, Missouri and Colorado. Rick Santorium won the popularity poll in the Republican presidential contest.
Keep in mind that this will anger the inmates from the politically correct insane asylum. The fly in the ointment is the so called Republican elite who support the gay agenda. Also the elephant in the room is always the two-faced double standard news media that promote the politically correct culture of death agenda that includes partial-birth abortion, same-sex marriage and embryonic stem-cell research. That liberal mindset is at odds with common sense, reason and natural law.
In January this corrupt Marxist/Fascist media [ABC, NBC, CBS and CNN] completely censored the great successes of the pro-life movement in San Francisco, Washington, D.C. and throughout the nation. We will not be second-class citizens and put up with this kind of intellectually and cowardly kind of news suppression and Obama advocacy. However, we can change a negative into a positive.
Thanks to President Obama policies during the last three years, our nation has moved from pro-choice to pro-life. Also with Obama’s direct involvement in the decision to push for this “Health and Human Services Mandate”, he has awakened a sleeping giant. It requires all Catholic insurance plans to pay for contraception and sterilization and the morning after-pill.
There is no conscience protection and religious freedom. You judge Obama by his actions not words. He is anti-Catholic. President Obama is unfit for public office.
We have the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.
Amendment 1: Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof, or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press, or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
Yesterday, in California a federal appeals court, two judges out of three ruled that Proposition 8 [marriage is between a man and a woman] is unconstitutional and serves no purpose other than to “lessen the status and human dignity” of gay people. We respect homosexual inclined people.
But you can’t change the three thousand year definition of marriage. Marriage, family and children are the foundation of every nation. And to believe that the sexual relationship between a man and woman is similar or the same as a relationship between two men or two women is not right. It can be a legalized civil union but not marriage. All of the above will have to be decided by the Supreme Court.
Be aware that our local Orange County Register is promoting the gay agenda. They have already struck out twice. 1) They editorially came out in support of same-sex marriage years ago. 2) The L.A. Times came out in opposition to SB.48. The Orange County Register chickened out. 3) This afternoon, I talked to the OCR News, Martin Landsbaum, Editorial Department 714-796-7951. He said that there will be an editorial in opposition to the HHS Mandate this week. Thank him if they do. But of course we still have problems with corporations that support the gay agenda, marriage etc. by Home Depot and Starbucks Coffee.

“Patterning Catholic Church-supported initiatives after the work of community organizing guru Saul Alinsky is simply not something the Catholic bishops should be associated with in any way, let alone be putting their stamp of approval on. Saul Alinksy was a radical political activist whose 1971 book, Rules for Radicals, set the stage for many varying forms of community organizing based on fundamentally on agitating for change at the local, state, or national level. And I don’t mean change for the better. 76
“Alinsky was an enemy of the Church; his programs were and still are the antithesis of Catholic social teaching. Writing about Alinsky and his fetish regarding the way churches had to be manipulated, Bill Muehlenberg says,
“He fully agree with Italian Marxist Antonio Gramci that social institutions must be captured from within, instead of overthrown from without. The long march through the institutions, instead of bloody revolution, was Alinsky’s preferred means to achieve the same ends.
“And he made it clear that capturing churches was a vital part in promoting the secular left’s revolution: ‘I recognized that is I could win the support of the Church, we’d be off and running. Conversely, without the Church, or at least some elements of it, it was unlikely that we’d be able to make much of a dent in the community. “Thus churches have long been targeted by the radicals, knowing how much easier their task would be if they could infiltrate churches and con-gullible believers into doing their work for them.
“The sort of philosophy espoused by Saul Alinsky and those who have followed in his footsteps does not comport with the mission of the Catholic Church in America – or any nation for that matter. Social change is not what is needed. What is needed is conversion to Christ and His Word.
“Sometimes that vision is not what comes out of places where bureaucrats are striving to either create or implement agendas based on someone else’s idea or political framework. Bureaucrats, no matter where they function, can and do have a profound effect on the way any institution, be it government or otherwise, operates. Their personal philosophy can get in the way of the mission, and it is my contention that this is exactly what has happened within the context of the Catholic bishop’s bureaucracy, not only in Washington, D.C, but in many states as well. 77
“Without getting too technical, it could be a very good idea for the bishops to consider shutting down the operations that are creating the confusion and then starting over with perhaps a dozen good men and women. Christ had 12 apostles and look what He was able to accomplish!
“It didn’t take a political party to help Christ along; in fact He died for our sins after living what some would say was a totally politically incorrect life. He set the mark high, but with every bishop doing his part, we might even witness resurgence in solid Catholic ideals being taught in Catholic colleges. We will explore this in the next chapter. First let’s examine some actions we can take… 78

Marco Rubio's Magnificent Talk on Abortion
Marco Rubio’s Magnificent Talk on Abortion
In pursuit of the truth – www.cinopsbegoneblogspot.com – Saturday, February 4, 2012
On Wednesday night this classic talk was delivered to a pro-life crowd of hundreds attending the “Susan B. Anthony’s List’s” fifth annual Campaign for Life Gala. “Memorize if possible!”
“The issue of life is not a political issue, nor is it a policy issue, it is a definitional issue. It is a basic core issue that every society needs to answer,” he said. “The answer that you give to that issue ends up defining which kind of society you have.”
Senator Marco Rubio criticized those who back away from the pro-life fight because it “makes us uncomfortable,” explaining that while other issue – like jobs, the debt, and the economy – are important, abortion is more than a political issue. “This is an issue that, especially for those that enter the public arena and refuse to leave our faith behind, speaks to more than just our politics,” Rubio said. “It speaks to what we want to do with the opportunity we have been given in our life, to serve and to glorify our Creator.”
The Catholic senator explained that irrespective of an American’s view on abortion, the belief that Roe v. Wade was a bad legal decision should be universal. The religious condemnation of abortion is central to Rubio’s pro-life stance. “Virtually every faith condemns the practice of abortion, recognizes that life is a gift from the Creator and compels followers to believe that as well, as a basic tenet of their faith,” he explained.
According to Rubio all the arguments in favor of abortion can be easily knocked down. The most common, he explained, is that the right of the woman to do what she pleases with her own body. “But there is another right, and that is the right to live. And so when you analyze this issue on a pro-life vs. pro-choice basis, what we basically have are two rights that are in conflict with each other,” he said. “And we as a society must decide what to do when two rights are in conflict with one another.”While the pro-choice community argues that we have the right to choose trumps the unborn’s right to live because it is not viable on its own, Rubio explained, the viability argument is a slippery slope.
“They say, ‘Well, they are not viable without the support of the mother.’ That also cannot be good argument, because a newborn isn’t viable without the mother either. A 1-year-old child, a 2-year-old child – leave a 2 year-old child by himself, leave a 6-month-old child by himself, they are not viable either,” he said,” he said, joking that 19 year olds probably shouldn’t be left alone either.
Rubio insisted that in the struggle between the rights of the mother and the rights of the unborn, the deck is stacked against the unborn because they cannot vote. He urged the audience to be a voice for those who cannot speak.
“The way we look at [human rights atrocities] in history and condemn them – this era will be condemned for this, I have no doubt about it,” Rubio said. “Our job is to accelerate the process of getting there, to ensure that sooner rather than later – God willing, in our lifetime – we can arrive to a consciousness in this nation that this is wrong, and the right to life is fundamental one that trumps virtually any other right I can imagine, because without it none of the other rights matter.” Rubio compared today’s pro-life movement to abolitionism, civil rights movement and women’s suffrage.
“At the end of the day our nation can never truly become what if fully was intended to bed unless it deals with this issue squarely,” he said. “America cannot truly fulfill its destiny unless this issue is resolved. It’s that important. Rubio explained the task in religious terms, saying that he will one day need to answer to God for his actions and failing to fight against abortion – after all the gifts God has bestowed on him – simply not an option. “America is great because God has blessed America. And America has always honored that blessing by being an example to the world… all life is worthy of protection. All life enjoys God’s love.”

“My Catholic priest, Father Larry Swink, delivered a homily on Sunday that I told him would make headlines. In the toughest sermon I have ever heard from a pulpit, he attacked the Obama Admini9stration as evil, even demonic, and warned of religious persecution ahead. What was also noteworthy about the sermon was that he cited the Washington Post in agreement - not on the subject of the Obama Administration being evil, but on the matter of its abridgment of the constitutional right to freedom of religion.
“What is happening is extraordinary and unprecedented. The Catholic Church is in open revolt against the Obama Administration, with Fr. Swink noting from the pulpit that priests across the archdiocese were joining the call on Sunday to rally Catholics to resistance against the U.S. Government. He said we are entering a time of religious persecution and that Catholics and others will have to make a final decision which side they are on…
“The administration claims there is a religious exemption in the mandate, but the bishops say it is so narrow that it fails to cover the vast majority of faith-based organizations, including Catholic hospitals, universities and service organizations that help millions every year. “Ironically,” they say, “not even Jesus and his disciples would have qualified.”
“The bishops go on, “Now that the Administration has refused to recognize Constitutional conscience rights of organizations and individuals who oppose the mandate, the bishops are not urging Catholics and others of good will to fight this unprecedented attack on conscience and religious liberty.” Interestingly, the Washington Post, as Father Swink indicated, agrees with the bishops. The paper said, “In this circumstance, requiring a religiously affiliated employer to spend its own money in a way that violates its religious principles does not make an adequate accommodation for those deeply held views. Having recognized the principle of religious exemption, the administration should have expanded it.
“So why would the administration pick a major fight with the Catholic Church? There are two main reasons. (1) The administration wants to please its progressives and feminist, secular pro-abortion base. (2) The administration believes Catholics are divided on the issue and will ignore their leaders…
“Support for the latter explanation comes in the form of the Obama Administration’s efforts to co-opt the Catholic Church, primarily through appointing nominal Catholics to high-level positions in government and keeping funding going to the church for “social justice” causes. Another player in this effort is the hedge-fund billionaire George Soros, an atheist who nevertheless has found groups that are “Catholic in name only” to accept his financial largesse. These groups, including Catholics in Alliance for the Common Good, are designed to give the impression that Catholics are less concerned about issues like stopping abortion and protecting the sanctity of traditional marriage than passing government health care. The Obama/Soros gamble may back fire.”

“Few discoveries are more irritating than those which expose the pedigree of ideas” Lord Action
Friedrich August von Hayek was much more than a Nobel Prize-winning economist. He was also a philosopher and a prophet. Thanks to the Heritage Foundation, I have read an abridged version of Hayek’s “The Road to Serfdom.” Here are poignant excerpts from his book.
“I have spent about half my adult life in my native Austria, in close touch with German thought, and the other half in the U.S. and England. In the latter period, I have become increasingly convinced that some of the forces which destroyed freedom in Germany are also at work here…
“There were many features which were then regarded as “typically German” which are now equally familiar in America and England, and many symptoms that point to a further development in the same direction: the increasing veneration of the state, the fatalistic acceptance of “inevitable trends,” the enthusiasm for “organization” of everything (we now call it “planning”)…
“The supreme tragedy is still not seen that in Germany it was largely people of good will who, by their socialist policies, prepared the way for the forces which stand for everything they detest. Few recognize that the rise of fascism and Nazism was not a reaction against the socialist trends of the preceding period but a necessary outcome of those tendencies...
“Most of the people whose views influence developments are in some measure socialists. They believe that our economic life should be “consciously planning” for the competitive system… In order to achieve their ends, the planners must create power – power over men wielded by other men – of a magnitude never before known. Their success will depend on the extent in which they achieve such power. Democracy is an obstacle to this suppression of freedom which the centralized direction of economic activity requires…
“Our generation has forgotten that the system of private property is the most important guarantee of freedom… But when economic power is centralized as an instrument of political power it creates a degree of dependence scarcely distinguishable from slavery…
“The Road to Serfdom: “There can be no doubt that the most of those in the democracies who demand a central direction of all economic activity still believe that socialism and individual freedom can be combined. Yet socialism was early recognized by many thinkers as the gravest threat to freedom…
"Nobody saw more clearly than the great political thinker de Tocqueville that democracy stands in an irreconcilable conflict with socialism: “Democracy extends the sphere of individual freedom,” he said. “Democracy extends the sphere of individual freedom,” he said. “Democracy attaches all possible value to each man,” he said in 1848, “while socialism makes each man a mere agent, a mere number. Democracy and socialism have nothing in common but one word: equality. But notice the difference: while democracy seeks equality in liberty, socialism seeks equality in restraint and servitude”…

Bishop of Marquette's Classic Letter vs. HHS Mandate
Bishop of Marquette’s Classic Letter vs. HHS Mandate
In pursuit of the truth – www.cinopsbegoneblogspot.com – Wednesday, February 1, 2012
The following is the full letter* read in the churches on Sunday, Jan. 29, 2012:
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ:
I write to you concerning an alarming and serious matter that negatively impacts the Church in the United States directly, and that strikes at the fundamental right to religious liberty for all citizens of any faith. The federal government, which claims to be “of, by, and for the people,” has just been dealt a heavy blow to almost a quarter of those people – the Catholic population --- and to the one million more who are served by the Catholic faithful.
The U.S. Department of Health and Services announced last week that almost all employers, including Catholic employers, will be forced to offer their employees’ health coverage that includes sterilization, abortion-inducing drugs, and contraception. Almost all health insurers will be forced to include those “services” in the health policies they write. Almost all individuals will be forced to buy that coverage as a part of their policies.
In so ruling, the Obama Administration has cast aside the First Amendment to the Constitution of the United States, denying to Catholics our Nation’s first and most fundamental freedom, that of religious liberty. And as a result, unless the rule is overturned, we Catholics will be compelled to either violate our consciences, or to drop health coverage for our employees (and suffer the penalties for doing so). The Obama Administration’s sole concession was to give our institutions 1 year to comply.
We cannot – we will not – comply with this unjust law. People of faith cannot be made second class citizens. We are already joined by our brothers and sisters of all faith and many others of good will in this important effort to regain our religious freedom. Our parents and grandparents did not come to these shores to help build America’s cities and town, its infrastructure and institutions, its enterprise and culture, only to have their posterity stripped of their God given rights. In generations past, the Church has always been able to count on the faithful to stand up and protect her sacred rights and duties. I hope and trust she can count on this generation of Catholics to do the same. Our children and grandchildren deserve nothing less.
And therefore, I would ask of you two things. First, as a community of faith we must commit ourselves to prayer and fasting that wisdom and justice may prevail, and religious liberty may be restored. Without God, we can do nothing: with God, nothing is impossible. Second, I would also recommend visiting www.usccb.org//conscience , to learn more about this severe assault on religious liberty, and how to contact Congress in support of legislation that would reverse the Obama Administration’s decision.
