REF. DNYUZ - "IN SAN FRANCISCO, TURMOIL OVER REOPENING SCHOOLS TURNS A CITY
AGAINST ITSELF" MARCH 29, 2021 -(https://dnyuz.com/2021/03/29/in-san-francisco-turmoil-over-reopening-schools-turns-a city-against-itself/)
 PREFACE: # 1
Could Pres. Joe Biden issue the following proclamation? President Lincoln's March 31, 1865 -       FAST DAY PROCLAMATION DECLARE

"We have grown in numbers, wealth and power as no other nation has ever grown. But we have forgotten God ... and we have vainly imagined, in the deceitfulness of our hearts, that all these blessings were produced by some superior wisdom and virtue of our own. Intoxicated with unbroken success, we have become too self-sufficient to feel the necessity of redeeming and preserving grace, too proud to pray to the God that made us! It behooves us, then, to humble ourselves. to confess our national sins, and to pray for clemency and forgiveness."               Federer, America's, 383-84

PREFACE: # 2
In the 1960s I remember when I was a proud member of the N.E.A. C.T.A. and W.T.A. We were  professional teacher organizations with integrity. (1962-67) We believed  that unionism for teachers is an absolute negative and contrary to the best interests of teachers, parents and pupils. I recall that at least once, in my five year voluntary membership, I was walked with teachers to pass a school tax increase. There was no politics involved. We worked with the PTA of which I was a member.

Repeal S.B. 160 the Rodda Act. Let's return to the 100 year belief of a "Meet and Confer" process like the Winton Act which was repealed in 1975. We need teacher independence and integrity. Teaching is a most honorable profession; politicizing it is most destructive.

With "Meet and Confer," we have the parents and pupils best interests. That is normal. "The teacher power" slogan is Marxist. We don't need  Marxism to solve our American educational  problems. Neither do we need the diabolical Sol Alinsky to bring people together.

SO HERE IS WHAT WE HAVE NOW!
"San Francisco - The pandemic has brought grinding frustration for parents, educators an students across the country. But perhaps no place has matched San Francisco in its level of infighting, public outrage and halting efforts to reopen schools.

In February, the city sued its own school system, which has been entirely remote for a year, and board of education, charging they were violating state law by not resuming in-person instruction.

Soon after. two parents infuriated by the school board decision to rename 44 schools, even as they kept them closed, launched a drive to recall three of the board members. Some 9,000 people have joined the campaigns mailing list, and they are expected to begin collecting signatures soon.

Then critics of the board unearthed four-year-old tweets written by the board's vice-president in which she accused Asian-Americans of siding up to white Americans to get ahead without confronting racism, comparing them to slaves who benefited from working inside a slave owner's house. More than a third of the district's students are Asian-Americans... a rapidly growing chorus demanding the vice-president Alison Collins, resign.

Mrs. Collins has refused to do so, but on Thursday the board voted 5-2 to strip her of her roles on committees and of her vice-presidency, leaving the board bitterly divided. Amid the chaos one thing has remained clear:  A large share of the public school students are unlikely to see the inside of their classrooms this academic year..."

Happy Easter,

George H. Kubeck, "And so the sufferings in our children's education continue."
