Charles Krauthammer and Nat Hentoff

Charles Krauthammer and Nat Hentoff
In pursuit of the truth – www.cinopsbegone.com – Sunday, Aug. 29, 2010

These are classics. Both of them hit the nail directly on the head. Thank you “Orange County Register” in California for publishing their columns in the Opinion section on Friday, Aug. 27, 2010.

It was like a breadth of air for all normal Americans. Believe me. Cut it out and save it for your friends and liberals. I’ve done it and passed it on.

A.Let’s start with some excerpts from Charles Krauthammer’s article appropriately called “A tattered bigotry card.” Reading the whole article is enriching: Here are several excerpts.

“ Liberalism under siege is an ugly sight indeed … Ah, the people, the little people, the small-town people, as Barack Obama in an unguarded moment once memorably called them, clinging “to guns or religion or” – this part is less remembered –

“antipathy toward people who aren’t like them.” That’s a polite way of saying clinging to bigotry. And promiscuous charges of bigotry are precisely how our current rulers and their vast media auxiliary react to an obstreperous citizenry that insists on incorrect thinking.

Resistance to the vast expansion of government power, intrusiveness and debt, as represented by the tea party movement? Why, racist resentment toward a black president.

Disgust and alarm with the federal government’s unwillingness to curb illegal immigration, as crystallized in the Arizona law? Nativism.

Opposition to the most radical redefinition of marriage in human history, as expressed in Proposition 8 in California? Homophobia.

Opposition to a 15-story Islamic center and mosque new Ground Zero? Islamophobia…

B.Here is Nat Hentoff column titled: “Class of freedoms at Ground Zero”:
Nat gives us facts on the background of this Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf’s intention to build a mosque two blocks north of the horror 9/11 at Ground Zero.”… construction workers pledging they will not work on this mosque … “I wouldn’t work there… I found out about what the Imam said about U.S. policy being responsible for 9/11.

“… Imam Rauf was interviewed on CBS “60 Minutes,” Sep. 30, 2001, by Ed Bradley… “Are you suggesting that we in the United States deserved what happened?”

Bradley asked. “I wouldn’t say the United States deserved what happened,” Rauf answered. “But the United States were an accessory to the crime that happened … In fact, it – in the most direct sense, Osama bin Laden is made in the U.S.A?” - Were the heads of government in Iran, Hamas and Sudan also “made in the U.S.A.?”… - New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg charges that opponents of Imam Rauf’s mosque “should be ashamed of themselves” and are bigots. Me, too, Mr. Mayor?... I am doing my job as reporter. I wish more reporters had gone beneath the shouting on both sides.”

George H. Kubeck, The mainstream media must stop this psychological warfare against the American people! There is hope. We saw Glenn Beck’s Tea Party Rally in Washington, D.C. with Sarah Palin as guest speaker.
