The Price of Liberty is Eternal Vigilance!

The Price of Liberty is Eternal Vigilance
In pursuit of the truth – www.cinopsbegone.com – Tuesday, Aug. 24th, 2010

Vigilance is an absolute necessity, particularly when our local newspaper “The Orange County Register” doesn’t want to expose the dangers we face via not informing its readers. We live in a pro-life and pro-marriage County. The atheists and the ACLU are at it; always to undermine, subvert and change the Constitution.

Historic religious symbols and marriage are foundational. We are shocked with activist Judge Vaughn Walker ridiculing the beliefs of all supporters of traditional marriage.

Almost all of the attacks on traditional American values are funded by rich individuals, misguided members of the ACLU, CEO’s, corporations and elitists with their own leftist secular religion.

Here is what the American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ) is fighting in the courts.

A. The Freedom from Religion Foundation, a group of atheists, is suing in a U.S. district court to expunge from public view our nation’s historic trust in God. In “Freedom from Religion Foundation” v. Ayers, they want the references to God eradicated from the “Capitol Visitor Center” in Washington , D.C.- this includes the National Motto, “In God We Trust,” and the Pledge of Allegiance (“one nation under God”). We have filed a friend-of-the-court brief on behalf of the ACLJ and Members of Congress.

B. IN Gonzalez v. Planned Parenthood of Los Angeles, Case No. 09-55010, we’re holding Planned Parenthood accountable to a multi-million dollar taxpayer scam. We’ve filed two brief, and we’re researching and preparing oral arguments. It will very likely reach the Supreme Court.

C. In ACLU v. DeWeese, we’re one again squaring off against the ACLU in their ongoing crusade to eliminate any hint or reference to religion. Our brief to the court of appeals is due this month, and we expect an oral argument early next year.

D. Following the ACLJ’S 9-0 Victory in Summum vs. City of Pleasant Grove at the Supreme Court earlier this year – Summum is back in federal court, alleging a new claim. They now argue that Planned Grove’s decision not to allow Summum to erect its monument in the same park where the city displays a Ten Commandments monument violates the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment. We have filed a motion for Summary Judgment, and Summum has moved for a Preliminary Injunction.

E. We continue working with Rep. Walter Jones to protect the constitutional rights of military chaplains to pray according to their faith. We’re supporting his legislation, H.R. 268, and urging President Obama to issue an Executive Order to lock in the rights of chaplains, regardless of what happens to the bill in Congress.

F. We have a number of cases currently in litigation involving the protection of the conscience rights of pro-life medical personnel – defending the right of pro-life healthcare workers from having to participate in abortion-related procedures.

G. We’re back at the United Stations, pushing to defeat the sinister anti-Christian “Defamation of Religions” proposal by the huge 57-nation Organization of the Islamic Conference, a dangerous resolution endorsing imprisonment or death for anyone speaking out against Islam. We expect a vote any day now. This resolution essentially outlaws the Christian faith – sharing your faith would become an international crime, punishable by imprisonment or death…
