NO to Leon Panetta as Secretary of Defense

NO to Leon Panetta as Secretary of Defense
In pursuit of the truth – www.cinopsbegone.com – Monday, June 20, 2011

Preface: The Cold War between the U.S. and Communist Russia lasted for about 40 years from the late 1940’s to the 1980’s. It was an interesting time with a lot of Communist front organizations. The Communists are masters of deceit and deception.

Many Americans were duped. Leon Panetta is too smart to be deceived. Leon is linked to Cold War supporters of the Soviets. The article in World Net Daily, Thurs. June 16, 2011 by Aaron Klein hits the nail on the leg. “Obama’s Nominee linked to Cold War Soviet Supporters.” http://www.wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.printable&pageld=311485

“CIA Director Leon Panetta, President Obama’s nominee to serve as secretary of defense, has come under newfound scrutiny for his ties to a Pro-Marxist think tank accused of anti-CIA activity. The Institute for Policy Studies, or IPS, long faced criticism for positions some say attempt to undermine U.S. national security and for its cozy relationship with the Soviet Union during the Cold War.

“A review of the voting record for Panetta, a member of Congress from 1977 to 1993, during the period in question shows an apparent affinity for IPS’s agenda. THE IPS IS CURRENTLY FUNDED BY PHILANTHROPIST GEORGE SOROS. [He is a leftist who funded the legalization of marijuana in Ca. etc.]

“Panetta was reported on IPS’s official 20th Anniversary Committee, celebrated April 5, 1983, at a time when the group was closely aligned with Soviet Union. In his authoritative book “Covert Cadre” Inside the Institute for Policy Studies,” S. Steven Powell writes: “April 5, 1983, IPS threw a large twentieth-anniversary celebration to raise funds…

"Writing in the New American earlier this month, Christian Gomez notes, “Careful observation of former Rep. Panetta’s record in the U.S. House of Representatives reveal a history of votes perceivable as in contrast with U.S. national security objectives, which if confirmed as Sec. of Defense MAY COMPROMISE U.S NATIONAL DEFENSE. ---- [I HAVE NO CONFIDENCE IN LEON PANETTA.] ----

•Panetta voted against the reaffirmation of the Mutual Defense Treaty with Taiwan and in support of continuing foreign aid to the Sandinista communist in Nicaragua.

•Panetta slammed what he called President Reagan’s “illegal and extraordinary vicious was against the poor of Nicaragua, El Salvador, and Guatemala.” He also supported Soviet satellite Daniel Ortega in Nicaragua and opposed Chile’s anti-communist gov.

•The FBI labeled IPS group a “think factory”; helps to “train extremists who incite violence in U.S. cities, & whose educat. research serves as cover for politic. agitation.

"The IPS has been accused as serving as a propaganda arm of the USSR…

•In his book :KGB and Soviet Disinformation: An Insider’s View,” Ladislav Bittman, a former KGB agent, called the IPS a Soviet misinformation operation at which Soviet insiders worked…The IPS has been implicated in anti-CIA activity."

George H. Kubeck, Leon Panetta is not worthy of our trust as America’s Secretary of Defense.
