STOP SAME-SEX MARRIAGE IN NEW YORK # 1

STOP SAME-SEX MARRIAGE IN NEW YORK # 1
In pursuit of the truth – www.cinopsbegone.com – Tuesday, June 7, 2011

I don’t understand. We already have legal and civil rights in place for our American homosexual inclined citizens. Why change the definition of marriage as one between a man and a woman? Isn’t the practice of homosexuality a choice? IT IS NOT GENETIC! Don’t call it marriage!
In the name of feelings and toleration, let’s change the definition of adultery, fornication and pornography. Why? You are hurting the feelings of those involved. To destroy the institution of marriage is diabolical. It is the historic foundation of any society. For the sake of relativism, this is all but an attack on common sense, natural law, reason and the truth and wisdom of the ages.

What is happening in New York today and in California reminds me of the bishops in Canada prior to the Catholic-in-name-only politicians [Liberals] legalizing same-sex marriage in the Canadian Parliament in 2005? The bishops did nothing to the perpetrators. Catholic beliefs and identity were prostituted and the Catholic laity was forced to live with it. THIS MUST NOT HAPPEN IN AMERICA!

A.New York Governor Andrew Cuomo launched a public campaign for Gay Marriage. The Governor is a CINOP (Catholic-in-name-only politician) “Under the supervision of the governor’s staff,” reported the Times April 21, “the groups intend to raise more than $1 million for a media blitz, hire a powerful political consultant close to the Cuomo administration, and deploy field organizers to the districts of more than a dozen key lawmakers to drum up support, according to interviews with those involved in the effort.”

By Edward N. Peters, the Cuomo-Communion Controversy, Catholic World Report, June 2011: Friday, May 13th

“Hardly a generation ago, a canon lawyer’s remarks that a divorced man openly cohabitating with a divorced woman was ineligible to receive Holy Communion would have been greeted with a polite yawn, as if to say “Of course he can’t be given communion. Tell us something we don’t already know.” But then, a generation ago, most Catholics were aware of the fundamentals of sacramental discipline, or, at least, of those aspects of sacrament discipline that went back to the Apostolic Age.

“Earlier this year, N.Y. Governor Andrew Cuomo, a divorced Catholic man who lives with television celebrity Sandra Lee (also divorced but not a Catholic), was given Holy Communion at a well-publicized Mass celebrated by Bishop Howard Hubbard of Albany. But my comments against Cuomo’s taking Communion, instead of occasioning yawns, provoked dozen of broadcast news segments, hundreds of newspaper articles, and thousands of web posts. My assertion that some things besides personal opinion can impact a Catholic’s eligibility to receive the Eucharist garnered nervous comments by bishops, open ridicule by left-leaning politicos, Cuomo’s consistent support for legalized abortion and “gay marriage” has canonical implications…”

George H. Kubeck,
P.S. The above is extremely serious. It will not go away. Bishops outside of New York need to reach out to N.Y.’s Archbishop Timothy Dolan. He has his hands full. Catholic writers, leaders and organizations like the Knights of Columbus need to speak out as Catholic Laity in some ways. Censure Cuomo! Don’t use the Catholic label when you run for office! This is absolutely necessary and fair.
