THE MOST SERIOUS VIRUS OF ALL: THE CHINESE COMMUNIST PARTY

THE MOST SERI0US VIRUS OF ALL: THE CHINESE COMMUNIST PARTY
IN PURSUIT OF THE TRUTH - http://www.cinopsbegone.blogspot.com - WED. APRIL 29, 2020

"IT IS TIME TO RECOGNIZE THE THREAT THE CHINESE COMMUNIST PARTY POSES TO ALL HUMANITY," SAID CHEN GUANGCHENG - EXILED HUMAN RIGHTS ADVOCATE: BY PAUL SMEATON

Washington, D.C., April 27, 2020, (LifeSiteNews) - World leaders should not follow the example of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) in their attempts to respond to the coronavirus, according to the blind human rights activist Chen Guangcheng, but should instead "come together to confront the CCP" which Chen says "is the biggest and most serious virus of all."

In an interview with William Saunders on Faith and Law's Friday Forum, Chen said that "it is time to recognize the threat the Chinese Communist Party poses to all humanity." Blind from a young age, Chen gained international prominence more than a decade ago for suing the Chinese government over its brutal "one child policy," which has resulted in forced abortions, estimated to be hundreds of millions. Forces abortion continues in China under it "two-child policy" now.

He was imprisoned by China's communist government for his activism, but in 2012 he escaped house arrest and fled to the U.S. Embassy in Beijing. He and his family were later allowed to leave for the U.S., where he is now a distinguished visiting fellow at the Institute for policy Research and Catholic Studies at the Catholic University of America and senior fellow at the Witherspoon Institute.

During last week's interview Chen issued a stark warning to leaders throughout the world, saying" "If free nations do not face the difficult task of deciding how to eradicate communist authoritarianism - a cancer on humanity - they will become its victims." "Like fire and water, authoritarian dictatorships do not mix with democracies," he said.

"No matter how nice the free world tries to be, dictatorship will not change. The reality you have to face is that dictators see you as the enemy. And it's not only the people directly ruled by the dictators who face harm, as you now see from the coronavirus. Chen was dismissive of any idea that the outbreak has been brought under effective control in China....

"This is dangerous," he continued. "There is nothing to believe in what the CCP reports." "They are barricading people in their homes," he said. In Wuhan whole families have been found dead in their apartments because they could not get out."

Official figures say the total death toll from the virus in China is now just over 4,600, from just over 80,000 cases. By comparison, the U.S. is now reporting more than 55,000 deaths from almost 200,000 cases. But Chen believes the number of coronavirus cases and deaths in China is vastly more than is claimed by the official reports.
"As for the data, there is nothing about the CCP's numbers that are believable," he said....
'When the epidemic is finally under control, the rest of the world must come together to confront CCP.
Earlier this month, President Donald Trump halted federal funding to the World Health Organization (Who), citing as one reason their failure to investigate whether reports coming from the CCP about the coronavirus in China were accurate.

China expert and president of the Population Research Institute, Steven Mosher, has argued repeatedly that the total number of coronavirus deaths in China is likely to be 20 times more than the official figures... "So-called quarantine sites are in fact secret detention sites where they can hold human rights activists," Chen explained.

Chen said that some Chinese journalist have been captured by authorities and sent to such "detention sites" because they contradicted CCP propaganda by publishing on line videos of things such "people collapsing in the streets, body bags piling up in vans" and "hearses and vans carrying bodies working 24 hours a day." Other, he said, have received death threats because of their work explaining the reality of the situation in China..."  George H. Kubeck

"Almighty God, we make our earnest prayer that Thou wilt keep the United States in Thy Holy protection, and ... wilt most graciously be pleased to dispose us all to do justice, and pacific temper of mind which were the characteristics of the Divine Author of our blessed religion, and without a humble imitation of whose example in these things we can never hope to be a happy nation."  Annals, II, 627

From now on you will be catching people", Jesus said to Peter on the morning he called him (Lk 5:10). Of all the interpretations of these words that I have heard, the one that most impresses me is that of St. Jerome. What he says is more or less as follows. When the fish is drawn out of the water it means that it has lost the element essential for its life. It can no longer breathe and so it perishes. But for men what happens in Baptism, in becoming a Christian, is the opposite. Until that time we have been imprisoned in the salt water of the world. We cannot see the light, God's light. We cannot see the broad expanse of the world. Our sight is shrouded in darkness of the water and directed down-ward and our life is sunk in the death-world of the salt water. But when we are drawn out of it in Baptism then we will begin to see the light; then we begin truly to live...

6. Prayer for Our Country.
O Most Blessed Virgin Mary....
Free us from the falsehoods that lead to the evil of abortion and threaten the sanctity of family life. Grant our country the wisdom to proclaim that God's law is the foundation on which this nation was founded, and that He alone is the True Source of our cherished rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. And don't forget the daily rosary.

# 5 BLOOD LETTERS - FREE CHINA/HONG KONG

5 BLOOD LETTERS - FREE CHINA/HONG KONG
JUSTICE IS TRUTH IN ACTION - HTTP://WWW.CINOPSBEGONEBLOGSPOT.COM - THURS. APR. 24/20
Excerpts from Lian XI, "Blood Letters" "The Untold Story of Lin Zhad, A Martyr in Mao's China"
Chapter One - TO LIVE UNDER THE SUN P. 16 -19
Preface:
This letter is in salute to the Chinese freedom fighters who were arrested by Communist Beijing in Hong Kong. "The arrested include Martin Lee, 81, a main author of Hong Kong's basic law who is considered the father of Hong Kong's democracy movement...." Wall Street Journal, Mon. April 20, 2020
Begin: "Unlike most mission schools in the 19h century, which catered to poor families, it was an elite school right from the start. ' There is the newly built Laura Haygood Memorial School for girls of the higher classes," noted the survey volume of a century of Protestant work in China published in 1907. It offered "exceptional literary advantages" and charged "eighty dollars per annum, not including music" - several times the entire annual income of an average laborer at the time.

The rules at Laura Haygood were strict: one's posture had to be decorous, one's gait elegant. School uniform must be neat. Students filed into the cafeteria to the accompaniment of music, prayed before they dined, and prayed again at bedtime. In its early days, all instruction as well as textbooks were in English, with the exception of the Chinese classes.
Laura Haygood students distinguished themselves in sports as well. In spring 1948, when Lin Zhao was a junior, the school won championships in basketball and volleyball and received banners folk dancing and track....
From its early days, Laura Haygood had embodied the reformist spirit in mission education: the biology teacher had girls make charts of mosquitoes and flies for their visits to local homes to promote public health; students devoted their summer vacation. to teaching children who had never had opportunities to formal education....
After the disruptions of the Sino-Japanese War, during which its campus was occupied by the Japanese army, Laura Haygood reopened in late 1945 when Jiang Guiyun, the principal since 1927, returned with a contingent of refugee students. (Hang's brother, Jiang Changchuan, had baptized Chiang Kai-shek in 1930 and served as bishop of the United Methodist Church in China after 1941....
Not long after she arrived at Laura Haygood, Lin Zhao was baptized by a missionary teacher and joined the church.
Lin Zhao's existent writings make no mention of how or why she chose to be baptized. In a sense, her conversion was not unexpected: before Laura Haygood, she had briefly attended Vincent Miller Academy, a Presbyterian mission school near her home in the outskirts of Suzhou. A melancholy essay she wrote in May 1947, before her transfer to Laura Haygood, hinted at deep emotions stirred by an image of the Holy Mother.
Many years later, when she was in prison, she would write fondly of the "influence of the humanitarian ideas of liberty, equality and fraternity" that she came under in mission schools. She also associated mission Christianity with other virtues, such ass efficiency and pragmatism. By the time she enrolled...her own patriotic flame, passed on from her mother, had already flared up, and the schools Christian concern with justice apparently appealed to her...
End: In any event, Lin Zhao, put down religious roots during her time at Laura Haygood. As she would discover later in life, they ran much deeper than she initially realized..."

EMERITUS POPE BENEDICT XVI - HOW JESUS ENTERED MY LIFE

EMERITUS POPE BENEDICT XVI:  HOW JESUS ENTERED MY LIFE?
JUSTICE IS TRUTH IN ACTION - HTTP://WWW.CINOPSBEGONEBLOGSPOT.COM - WED. APRIL 22, 2020
# "How Jesus entered my life: I met him first, not in literature or philosophy, but in the faith of the Church. That means from the beginning he was not, for me, an important figure from the past (like Plato or Thomas Aquinas, for example), but someone who lives and works today, someone whom we can meet today.

It means, above all, that I have learned to know him within the history of the Faith that originates in him, to see him as faith sees him in its most enduring formulation by the Council of Chalcedon. In my opinion, Chalcedon is a great and most courageous reduction of an extremely complex and multilayerd fund of tradition to a single, central, and fundamental statement:

Son OF  God, possessed of one nature with God and nature with us. In contrast to many other possibilities that have been broached in the course of history, Chalcedon interpreted Jesus theologically; I regard that as the only interpretation that can do justice to the whole spectrum of Tradition and can bear the full implications of the phenomenon.

Every other interpretation is, in some way, too restricted; every other concept includes one part of the truth and excludes another. Here, and here alone, is the whole truth revealed. Ultimately, everything else derives from this interpretation.

First of all that Jesus and the Church are, for me, as impossible to separate as they are impossible to identify one with the other. Jesus is always infinitely transcendent to the Church. It was not through Vatican Council II that we first learned that, as Lord of the Church, he also her standard. I have always regarded this truth as both consolation and challenge.
As consolation because we have always known that the scrupulosity of the rubricists and the legalists does not have its source in Jesus, in that infinite magnanimity that comes to us from the words of the Gospel like a fresh breeze and collapses all excessive literalness like a house of cards. We have always known that nearness to him is as totally independent of the ecclesiastical rank one may hold as of one's knowledge of juridical and historical details. That has enabled me to look upon external details with a corresponding ease of mind.

To that extant the person of Jesus has always been for me a source of optimism and liberation. On the other hand I have never been able to ignore the fact that, in many respects, he asks more of me than the Church would ever dare to ask, that the radicalism of his words can be equated only with the kind of radicalism displayed by Anthony, the Desert Father, and Francis of Assisi in their wholly literal acceptance of the Gospel.

If we do not do that, we have already taken refuge in casuistry, and cannot escape the corroding restlessness, the knowledge, that, like the rich young man, we have turned away when we should have taken seriously the words of the Gospel....

The fact that I learned to know and see Jesus Christ in terms of the interpretation formulated at Chalcedon does not mean that a part of the Tradition must now be eliminated because it does not seem sufficiently divine and cannot, therefore be brought into harmony wit the dogmas as stated.

The opposite is, in fact, true. Ecclesiastical Tradition, in which the historical movement founded by Jesus has remained alive even to the present time, gives me, at the same time, more confidence in biblical tradition in which I have more trust than in the effort to reconstruct in the retort of historical reason a chemically pure historical Jesus. I trust the tradition in its entirety....

In consequence, the dispute about the ipsissima (the actual words of Jesus) is not especially meaningful for me. I know that the Jesus of the gospels is the true Jesus, that I can trust myself to him with far greater confidence than to the most learned reconstructions, for he will outlast all of them.... In conclusion, it remains to be said that one who believes with the Church meets Jesus directly in prayer and the sacraments - especially the Eucharist.

# 43 of 45 - THIS HAPPY BOOK REPORT ON PADRE PIO

# 43 OF 45 - THIS HAPPY BOOK REPORT ON PADRE PIO
JUSTICE IS TRUTH IN ACTION - HTTP://WWW.CINOPSBEGONEBLOGSPOT.COM - SUN. APRIL 19, 2020
PADRE PIO - THE TRUE STORY BY C. BERNARD RUFFIN
CHAPTER 20 - THE IMPRISONMENT P. 228-232 of 421 pages - SELECTED EXCERPTS
Preface:
Update on this book about Saint Padre Pio. About 40 more pages; completion at the  end of 2021.

"During the night of May 5, 1929, Padre Pio had a dream to which some of his confreres attached a prophetic significance. Referring to the 16th century pope, Pius V, Padre Pio recounted, "I had a dream about St. Pius. He clearly told me that Archbishop Gagliardi will be deposed and Bishop Cuccarello will come in his place.
The first part of the prophecy was fulfilled Oct. 1. Following a second apostolic visitation, this time to investigate the archbishop himself, Gagliardi, in the wake of a report that held him guilty of serious "mismanagement" of his archdiocese, retired.... The second part of the prophecy of St. Pius was not fulfilled, owing , Agostino rationalized, to "fault of men."....

Gagliardi was replace by another Capuchin bishop, Andrea Cesarano, an ascetic-looking man of fifty ...and generally friendly toward Padre Pio...
The tribulation of the priestly mystic were by no means at an end with the retirement of Gagliardi. Pio still had powerful enemies in Rome, chief among them Gemelli, who continued to him in an unfavorable light to Pope Pius. Both Morcaldi and Brunatto were bitterly unhappy that the partial discrediting of Gagliardi had not served to remove what they felt were undo restriction on Padre Pio.

Thereupon they wrote a book called Letters to the Church, which contained many juicy expose of the private lives of prominent Churchmen as well as a defense of Padre Pio ... When Padre Pio, however, learned of the forthcoming book, he seized Morcaldi by the throat, "You devil, you!" he roared. "Go, throw yourself at the foot of the Church instead of writing this garbage! Don't you set yourself up against your Mother!"...

When the crowd still continued to howl for the guest's blood - quite literally --- Moraldi boomed, "Do you love Padre Pio?" When cries of "Yes! Yea!" burst from the darkness, he shouted back, "Then what he says! Do what he told you! Obey him! Go back to you homes! The guest will leave for Foggia at five this morning....

Thus began two years that Padre Pio called his "imprisonment," a trial he offered as a sacrifice to
God for the needs of the unsaved. He began his day with the rest of the community. After saying the Office with his colleagues in the choir, he prepared for Mass, the went to a small oratory within the enclosure and celebrated the Eucharist in the company of one server. Because he had no congregation, no limit was set on the length of his Mass, which at times lasted for almost four hours. According to Agostino though, ninety minutes was more usual.

Now, at least, he was free to spend as much time as he wished in mystic communion with his God.What protracted Pio's Mass to such lengths, Agostino observed, were the Remembrances of the Living and the Remembrances of the Dead. Pio often said that during the Mass he saw all the souls whom God was entrusting to his concern. Now, prohibited from any other contact with the faithful, he spent much time in intercession for them.

The rest of his day Padre Pio spent in study and prayer. He managed to go through volume after volume of Church history as well as pore over Scripture and the Church Fathers. The Capuchin lifestyle had relaxed somewhat from the days when Pio was a very young man, and the friars no longer had as many restrictions on their fellowship. Once when Agostino asked him how he passed his time. Pio replied, "I pray and I study as much as I can, then I annoy my Brothers."...

Frequently alone with his thoughts, Padre Pio was troubled more than ever by his habitual uncertainty as to whether he was pleasing God. He told Padre Agostino, "I would prefer a thousand crosses ... to this ordeal of never feeling certain as to whether I am pleasing the Lord in what I am doing..

# 2 OF 3 - LENINTHINK OR THE COMMUNIST MIND OF CHINA AND CUBA

# 2 OF 3 - LENINTHINK OR THE COMMUNIST MIND OF CHINA AND CUBA
JUSTICE IS TRUTH IN ACTION - http://www.cinopsbegoneblogspot.com - FRI. APR. 17, 2020

LENINTHINK BY GARY SAUL MORSON: The following is an edited version of remarks delivered at "The New Criterion's" inaugurated Circle Lecture on Sept. 25, 2019 - excerpts - Oct. 2019

Preface:
We continue with the diabolical mindset. Wall Street Journal columnist Peggy Noon put it this way: "The past decade saw the rise of the woke progressives who dictate what words can be said and ideas held, thus poisoning and paralyzing American humor, drama, entertainment, culture and journalism. In the coming ten years someone will effectively stand up to them. They are the most hated people in America, and their entire program is accusation: you are racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic; you are a bigot, a villain, a white male, a patriarchal misogynist, your day is over."

"We think of show trials as Stalinist, but Lenin stages a show trial of Socialist Revolutionary leaders in 1922. By the sane token, Lenin always insisted on the most violent solutions...He was constantly rebuking subordinates for not using enough force, ... for restraining mobs from hesitating to shoot randomly chosen hostages.

"He demanded that grain not be purchased from peasants but requisitioned at gun point... Lenin issued the following order. "The kulak uprising in [your] district must be crushed without pity ... 1)Hang (and I mean hang so that the people can see) not less than 100 known kulaks, rich men, bloodsuckers. 2) Publish their names. 3) Take all their grain away from them. 4) Identifying hostages ....Do this so that for hundreds of miles around the people an see, tremble, know and cry ...
Yours, Lenin, P.S. Find tougher people...

Lenin worked by a principle of anti-empathy and this approach was to define Soviet ethics. I know of no other society, except those modeled on the one Lenin created, where schoolchildren were taught that mercy, kindness, and pity are vices... The word "consciences" went out of use, replaced by "consciousness" (in the sense of Marxist Leninist ideological consciousness). During Stalin's great purges a culture of denunciation reigned, but it was Lenin who taught "A good communist is also a good checkist." [ A good communist is also dead one.]

The Abbey of Theleme:
A special logic governs the Leninist approach to morality, legality, and rights. In his famous address to the Youth Leagues, Lenin complains that bourgeois thinkers have slanderously denied that Bolsheviks have any ethics. In fact,  ..."We say that morality is entirely subordinated to the interest of the proletariat's class struggle .... That is why we say that to us there is no such thing as a morality that stands outside human society; that is a fraud,. To us morality is subordinated to the interests of the proletariat' class struggle."
When people tell us about morality, we say: "to a Communist all morality lies in this united discipline and conscious mass struggle against the exploiters." In short, Bolshevik morality holds that whatever contributes to Bolshevik success is moral, whatever hinders it is immoral...."

Recall that Lenin defined the dictatorship of the proletariat as rule based entirely on force absolutely unrestrained by any law. His more naive followers imagined that rule by terror would cease when Bolshevik hold on power was secure ... but Lenin made a point of disillusioning them. "It is the biggest mistake to think the New Economic Policy will put an end to terror. We shall return to terror and to economic terror."

LENINSPEAK
Lenin's language, no less than his ethics,. served as a model,, taught in Soviet schools and recommended in books with titles like Lenin's Language and On Lenin's Polemical Art.     In Lenin's view, a true revolutionary did not establish the correctness of his beliefs by appealing to evidence or logic, as if there were some standards of truthfulness above social classes....
When Mensheviks objected to Lenin's personal attacks, he replied frankly that his purpose was not  to convince but to destroy his opponent. In work after work, Lenin does not offer arguments refuting other social democrats but brands them as "renegades" from Marxism...

LENINTHINK OR THE COMMUNIST MIND OF CHINA AND CUBA # 1 OF 3

LENINTHINK OR THE COMMUNIST MIND OF CHINA AND CUBA # 1 OF 3
JUSTICE IS TRUTH IN ACTION - http://www.cinopsbegoneblogspot.com -  THURS. APR. 16/2020

LENINTHINK BY GARY SAUL MORSON: The following is an edited version of remarks delivered at "The New Criterion"s inaugurated Circle Lecture on September 25, 2019 - excerpts - Oct. 2019

Beyond Doctrine:
An old Soviet joke poses the question: What was the most important world-historical event of the year 1875? Answer Lenin was five years old.
The point of the joke, of course, is that the Soviets virtually deified Lenin. Criticism of him was routinely referred to as "blasphemy," while icon corners in homes and institutions were replaced by "Lenin corners." Lenin museums sprung up everywhere... In addition to Leningrad, there were cities named Leninsk, Leninkend, ... inscribed on a mountaintop: "Lenin lived! Lenin Lives! Lenin will live!"...

As we approach the 150th anniversary of Lenin's birth, understanding him grows ever more important. Despite the fall of the Soviet Union, Leninist ways of thinking continue to spread, especially among Western radicals who have never read a word of Lenin.
This essay is not just about Lenin, and not just Leninism, the official philosophy of the USSR, but also the very style of thought that Lenin pioneered. Call it Leninthink... And admirer of the French Jacobins, Lenin believed that state power had to be based on sheer terror, and so he also created the terrorist state....

The Russian empire lost more people in World War I than any other country, but still more died under Lenin. His war against the peasants, for instance, took more lives than combat between Reds and Whites.... By the time of the Great Terror of 1936-38, millions of entirely innocent people were arrested, often by quota. Literally no one was safe.
The Party itself was an especially dangerous place to be, and the NKVD was constantly arresting its own members... NKVD'S interrogators who suspected they were to be arrested often committed suicide since they had no illusions about what arrests entailed...."Members of a family of a traitor to the fatherland" was itself a criminal category, and whole camps were set for wives of "enemies of the people." Never before had such practices defined a state.

For good reason, many have traced these practices to Lenin's doctrines, In his view, Marx's greatest contribution was not the idea of the class struggle but "the dictatorship of the proletariat," and as far back as 1906 Lenin had defined dictatorship as "nothing other than power which is totally unlimited by any laws, totally unrestricted by absolutely any rules, and based directly on force."
He argued that a revolutionary party must be composed entirely of professional revolutionaries, drawn mainly from the intelligentsia and subject to absolute discipline, with a readiness to do literally anything the leadership demanded.

Who Whom?
Lenin's instruction to authorities Nizhnii Novgorod, August 1918
"Introduce at once mass terror, execute and deport hundreds of prostitutes, drunken soldiers, ex-officers, etc.
Lenin's hatred of the markets, and his attempts to abolish it entirely during War Communism, derived from the opposite idea, that all buying and selling is necessarily exploitative... For us, the word "politics" means a process of give and take, but for Lenin it's we take, and you give. From this it follows that one must take maximum advantage of one's position.
If there is one sort of person Lenin truly hated more than the other, it is to use some of his more printable adjectives - the squishy, squeamish, spineless, dull-witted liberal reformer.

The following statement from his most famous book, What Is to be Done? "The only choice is either the bourgeois or the socialist ideology. There is no middle course... Hence to belittle the socialist ideology in any way, to turn away from it in the slightest degree, means to strengthen bourgeois ideology,: There is either rule by the bourgeoisie or dictatorship of the proletariat: "Every solution that offers a middle path is a deception..."  George H Kubeck

U.S. ARCHBISHOP REBUKES BROTHER BISHOP ON ABORTION NOT 'PREEMINENT' VOTING ISSUE

U.S. ARCHBISHOP REBUKES BROTHER BISHOP ON ABORTION NOT 'PREEMINENT' VOTING ISSUE
JUSTICE IS TRUTH IN ACTION - http://cinopsbegoneblogspot.com - WED. APRIL 15, 2020

By Doug Mainwaring, Denver, April 3, 2020, (LifeSiteNews) - Archbishop Samuel Aquila wrote that there are a few bishops who 'sadly .. should know better than to downplay the critical importance of human life.
A U.S. archbishop published a commentary criticizing his brother bishops who claim that "climate change or immigration are assaults against human life that are as morally serious as abortion and euthanasia." ...

"We have seen the progressive darkening grow especially in the last ten years with physician-assisted suicide, the re-definition of marriage, and a few bishop even more sadly, since they should know better, arguing against abortion being a preeminent issue in voting," he said.
During the fall 2019 gathering of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB), 69 bishops voted to dislodge abortion as the significant life issue continuing to face the Catholic Church in America. Emphasizing the "seriousness of these weighty topics," Archbishop Aquila quoted John Paul II's Evangelium Vitae - The Gospel of Life:

"St. John Paul II says, "when the sense of God is lost, there is also a tendency to lose the sense of man, of his dignity and his life; in turn, the systematic violation of the moral law, especially in the serious matter of respect for human life and its dignity, produces a kind of progressive darkening of the capacity to discern God's living and saving presence." (EV,21)
Aquilla's statement directly challenges Cardinal Blase Cupich of Chicago and Bishop Robert McElroy of San Diego. They argued publicly at the time that the USCCB should more closely align with Pope Francis embrace of what amounts to the "Seamless Garment" view, which assigns equal weight to an array of important life issues.

To drive home his point, Archbishop Aquila quoted a Denver priest whose accompanying commentary in the Denver Catholic addressed more deeply the troubling nature of bishops who fail to recognize the preeminence of abortion and euthanasia. Father Luis Granados, dcjm, began
"In Evangelium Vitae St. John Paul II invites us to love, respect and promote life. The encyclical focuses on two offenses against life: abortion and euthanasia. Two solemn declarations condemn them as intrinsically evil, as the deliberate and direct killing of an innocent human being (EV, 62 and 65). But some argue today that it would be better to focus on other ethical issues like immigration, social injustice or environmental sins, which they claim are just as wrong."

Father Granados went on to urge consideration of who are the actual "murderers" when it comes to abortion and euthanasia: "The physician, the father and the mother, those appointed by God as keepers, are those who destroy the baby, and are subsequently morally destroyed."
"In other sins against life, like immigration, we enter into the realm of prudential decisions: How many immigrants should our country welcome? Under which conditions? But in the case of abortion or euthanasia there is no such deliberation," Granados wrote. "We are dealing with an action that is always evil: always and in every circumstance (Veritatis Splendor, 52)."

"The current threat of the COVID-19 virus will be a defining moment in how our society treats each person's dignity," wrote Archbishop Aquila. "Will we 'respect, protect, love and serve life, every human life' (Ev, 5) in the way that we respond, or will we only look out for ourselves? Will we respect the life of the elderly as much as the young?" he asked.
"On this 25th anniversary of Evangelium Vitae," Fr. Granados observed, "St. John Paul II passes the baton of the building of a culture of life to us." George H. Kubeck

P.S. America's culture of death needs the catholic vote to win in the coming presidential election. They won twice with CINOP Biden as Vice-President and Obama's victory. Abortion and euthanasia are absolutely evil. Belief in climate change and immigration are prudential choices, and cannot be compared to the evil of abortion and euthanasia. Don't insult our intelligence and Catholic values. The enemy is the Catholic-in-name-only politician and followers duping Catholic voters. It will be another miracle for President Trump to be reelected.

POPE FRANCIS SAYS PANDEMIC IS 'NATURE'S RESPONSE TO INACTION OVER CLIMATE CHANGE

POPE FRANCIS SAYS PANDEMIC IS 'NATURE'S RESPONSE' TO INACTION OVER CLIMATE CHANGE
JUSTICE IS TRUTH IN ACTION - http://www.cinopsbegoneblogspot.com - MON. APR. 13, 2020

By Thomas D. Williams Ph.D, 9 April, 2020 . Breitbart,

ROME - Pope Francis said he believes the Chinese coronovirus pandemic is "certainly nature's response" to humanity's failure to address the "partial catastrophe" wrought by human-induced climate change.

Asked by British journalist Austen Ivereig whether the COVID-19 crisis is an opportunity for an "ecological conversion," the pontiff reasserted his belief that humanity has provoked nature by not responding to the climate crisis. "There is an expression in Spanish: 'God always forgives, we forgive sometimes, but nature never forgives. Francis said in the interview published Wednesday....

I don't know if it is nature's revenge, but it is certainly nature's response," he added. "Every crisis contains both danger and opportunity; the opportunity to move out from the danger," he said, "Today I believe we have to slow down our rate of production and consumption and to learn to understand and contemplate the natural world."

Late last month the pope expressed this same belief to a Spanish journalist, insisting that the corona-virus pandemic is nature's cry for humans to take better care of creation. Asked whether COVID pandemic is nature's way of talking 'revenge" on humanity, the pontiff suggested that nature is calling for intention. "Fires, earthquakes ... nature is throwing a tantrum so that we will take care of her," he said.

Last December as well, the pope said that natural disasters such as a massive storm that struck northern Italy in the fall of 2018 are nature's way of sounding an alarm to make us more environmentally engaged. "These are events that frighten us" Francis said. "They are alarm signals that creation sends us, which summon us to immediately take effective decisions to safeguard our common home."

In 2015, Francis became the first pope in history to devote an entire encyclical letter to the issue of care for the environment, in which he decried human exploitation of nature. The earth "now cries out to us because of the harm we have inflicted on her by our irresponsible us and abuse of the goods with which God has endowed her," Francis wrote, "We have come to see ourselves as her lords and masters, entitled to plunder her at will. The violence present in our hearts, wounded by sin, is also reflected in the symptoms of sickness evident in the soil, in the water, in the air and in all forms of life."

"Now, faced as we are with global environmental deterioration, I wish to address every person living on this planet," the pope continued comparing the ecological crisis to the nuclear crisis of the Cold War era.

Francis has also tended to personalize nature, suggesting that it "cries out" when it is mistreated.
Situations such as  a loss of biodiversity and economic inequality "have caused sister earth, along with all the abandoned of our world, to cry out, pleading that we take another course," he wrote. "Never have we so hurt and mistreated our common home as we have in the last hundred years."

Since then, the pope has become one of the most vocal opponents of global warming, urging "drastic measures" to combat " a climate emergency that gravely threatens nature and life itself." "Too many of us act like tyrants with regard to creation," he declared. "Let us make an effort to change and to adopt more simple and respectful lifestyles!"

"Now is the time to abandon our dependence on fossil fuels and move, quickly and decisively, towards forms of clean energy and a sustainable and circular economy. Let us also learn to listen to indigenous peoples, whose age-old wisdom can teach us how to live in a better relationship with the environment," he said.

Francis has also scolded political leaders for their half-hearted response to the climate crisis, suggesting that their "weak" resolve in cutting emissions reveal a lack of political will...

#42 OF 45 - THIS HAPPY BOOK REPORT ON PADRE PIO

# 42 of 45 - THIS HAPPY BOOK REPORT ON PADRE PIO
IN PURSUIT OF THE TRUTH - HTTP://WWW.CINOPSBEGONEBLOGSPOT.COM. WED. OF HOLY WEEK, APR. 8, 2020

PADRE PIO - THE TRUE STORY BY C. BERNARD
CHAPTER 19 - CONTINUED SORROWS p. 218-224
"Padre Pio was cheered by the presence of San Giovanni Rotondo of his dear friend Padre Agostino. Padre Pietro, the provincial, transferred him there in 1923 to teach Latin and Greek at the Seraphic College and also to compensate Pio fo the loss of Padre Benedetto. Agostino remained for two years. Writing his diary several years later, he recalled,  "It is needless to speak of Padre Pio's joy and mine in our living together.
Both men soon discovered, however, that deep as their friendship was, there was no way to replace Padre Benedetto especially in his capacity as spiritual director. Agostino soon realized that he was unable to plumb the depths of Pio's soul as Benedetto could....

On December 13, 1923, Pio complained to Padre Pietro that he was being abandoned by everyone. "In vain I try to make acts of conformity to God's will," Pio wrote, "In vain I turn to Him. Everywhere there is silence ... even in heaven, which has become as bronze to me."....

Padre Pio's parents made few trips to San Giovanni Rotondo. Mammella complained that when she did go to visit her son, he had so little time. Once when she drove to San Giovanni with Brunatto, she was frustrated at the five minutes of conversation she had with her son. "What am I going to do?"she asked Brunatto. "I can't even get to say a word to him. You kiss his hand for me." Another time I was there for twenty days and still was not able to have a single word with Padre Pio. Holy Mary, why does he act that way? He doesn't even let me kiss his hand....

Meanwhile, new fires of contention were breaking out. The same year as the Misco affair. Padre Pio denied absolution to Maria DiMaggio, the longtime mistress of Archpriest Don Giuseppe Principe. So lax were the local secular clergy that it was not uncommon for those who were not homosexual to live with their women as man and wife for years. Maria DiMaggio, sixty years old, had lived with Don Giuseppe (who was 12 years her junior) for nearly a quarter century. Padre Pio insisted that their relationship was sinful and demanded that it be terminated, the archbishop was. When at his insistence, Maria DiMaggio continued to sleep with Principe, Padre Pio refused to absolve her. She went to a priest in another town, who upheld Padre Pio ...

During the early months of 1926, Gagliardi forwarded more anonymous letters of accusation to the new minister provincial, Padre Bernardo. Bernardo, being from outside the province of Foggia, did not know Padre Pio well enough to recognize that the accusations were false. The allegations his time were subdued enough not to be readily dismissed by someone not thoroughly acquainted with the situation. Among other things, Gagliardi, through the anonymous letters, accused Padre Pio of insisting that his spiritual children make their confessions more frequently than their usual eight-day interval. He further accused Pio of permitting his hand to be kissed and of lingering outside the confessional to talk with women, thereby violating the restrictions placed on him by the Holy Office.

Padre Pio was "shattered" when Padre Bernado, in a letter, mentioned the accusations as if there were substance to them. Responding to the charge in detail, Pio wrote the provincial, on May 18.1926, that he had never counseled at any interval shorter than eight days....Regarding the hand kissing, he protested. "Anybody who has been to our church knows how many times I have shouted at them, and if they do not desist, what fault is it of mine? Do I have to strike them? Well, perhaps I would if I had good hands!"

In 1928, Padre Pio was still held in great suspicion within many circles of the Church, even within his own Order. For instance in August of that year, a Swiss Capuchin from Freibourg wrote to Padre Bernardo that he had read in a local paper that Padre Pio had been "accused, condemned and imprisoned for crimes against morality." Meanwhile the notorious Padre Pio, outwardly unflappable, continued his ministry. Those who came to see him continued to be enthusiastic, nearly every week there we reports of some sensational cure or dramatic conversion... George H. Kubeck

THE WHY FOR THE CORONAVIRUS

THE WHY FOR THE CORONAVIRUS
JUSTICE IS TRUTH IN ACTION - BLOGGER. Gospel of Life - MONDAY OF HOLY WEEK, APRIL 6, 2020

Preface: Even if God does not exist, violence to human nature, natural law, truth and common sense will reckon with  the culture of death that seeks to redo America. One Vatican theologian believes the COVID-19 pandemic is a 'warning to the men of the Church' who have betrayed Christ's teaching.
Another Denver Archbishop Samuel Aquila By Doug Mainwaring from Denver, April 3, 2020 (LIfeSiteNews) - A U.S. archbishop published a commentary criticizing his brother bishops who claim that "climate change or immigration are assaults against human life that are just as morally serious as abortion and euthanasia." Vatican theologian: Pandemic is God's chastisement for 'infidelity' of top Catholic shepherds
Pope Francis receives Pachamama statue in Vatican gardens at indigenous ceremony, Rome, Oct. 4/19
By Martin Burger, April 3, 2020, (LifeSiteNews)

"Italian priest and theologian Nicola Bux has identified both the sins within the Church as well as the sins of the world as the root of the current pandemic and its effects on the daily life of Catholics. Like Archbishop Vigano and Bishop Schneider, the former consulter of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith characterized COVID-19 as a chastisement from God....
Bux said "we can read this virus as a 'sign of the times,' in the sense above all of a warning to the world." "We must now abstain, as a punishment," he explained. "from so many embraces and so many relationships, even against nature. We have defiled natural law and committed 'sins that cry out to heaven for vengeance."

"What about infidelity and indifference, of those who live in practical; atheism, and postulate a nature emancipated from God," Bux asked. "And then adultery, abortions, divorces. We have violated the rights of God and put in their place those of man." Specifically talking about the sins within the Church, Bux began by mentioning idolatry, which he called "the gravest sin."

"We gave in to idolatry... by kneeling before heaps of earth and worshiping idolatrous statues even in St. Peter's Basilica. We turned churches into shelters and inns when we had much better facilities to accommodate the poor and migrants.... we gone so far as to say that the grace of God can coexist with a situation of habitual sin, authorizing sacrilegious Communions given to unrepentant sinners."...
As such, the COVID-19 pandemic is "a warming to the men of the Church, who, in the name of 'paradigm shift,' subordinate Christ's teaching to the reality of the world." "They say they do not understand non-negotiable principles. They consider inequality and not sin as the root of social evils. They have allowed the gnostic and neo-pagan scene on the facade of complacent dialog with religious... They have presented Luther as medicine for the Church. They have endorsed situation ethics instead of moral principles."....

Bux then begged God to deliver his people from the "wrath of judgment." "Great is our sin, but greater is your love. Take away our sins for the glory of your name. In the intimacy of the soul, we prostrate ourselves and implore divine mercy...Forgive us our mistakes, heal our wounds, guide us with your grace to the Easter victory," Bux prayed....concluded by calling the chastisement "providential," expecting it to bear fruit.

CELEBRATE 'THE GOSPEL OF LIFE' (MARCH 25, 1995)

CELEBRATE 'THE GOSPEL OF LIFE' (MARCH 25, 1995)
JUSTICE IS TRUTH IN ACTION - BLOGGER.COM - SAT. APRIL 4, 2020
Preface:
It is the 11th of Pope Saint John Paul II's 14 encyclicals. I remember it well. I had 50 copies made. There was a printer nearby in  (Garden Grove) Stanton with a special of  one cent per page. I was a prayer participant at the nearby abortion sites; two of them in Cypress and Orange in the years ahead they closed. We will begin with reference two writers:
A) Ref, "The Catholic World Report" -- 25 Years after "Evangelium Vitae, We still need a "new feminism." March 24, 2020 by Michele M. Schumacher, selected excerpts
"In his encyclical, Pope John Paul II called for a "new feminism" - "new" in the sense of the radical novelty of Christianity itself, not a reactionary Christian answer to secular feminism.
Perhaps at no point in human history has the urgency of the proclamation of the "Gospel of Life"- ... been so apparent as today Indeed, on this 25th anniversary of Evangelium Vitae (promulgated March 25, 1995), more ferocious than ever is the systematic and ideological calling into question of the dignity and protection of human life,
By the very institutions that have been traditionally charged to protect it: the state, the medical profession, even - and perhaps most sadly, as John Paul II pointed out in this same encyclical - the family itself, "which by its nature is called to be the "sanctuary of life" (EV.9)
On a more positive note, it was within the context of this "culture of death" (12) and even of what he considered a "conspiracy against life" (17), that this holy pope, in "cooperation" with "the episcopate opf every country of the world: (5) pointed to women as "occupying a place, in thought and action, which is unique and decisive" in "transforming culture so that it supports life." For this reason, he called upon us, women, "to promote a 'new feminism' which rejects the temptation of imitating models of 'male domination,' in order to acknowledge and affirm the true genius of women in every aspect of the life of society, and overcome all discrimination, violence, and exploitation."  ...
B) LifeSite, Thu Feb. 27, 2020 "Cardinal forcefully Condems 'Freedom' to 'Murder' Unborn Children" by Sandro Magister,  selected excepts"
The explosion of individual desires transformed into rights for all is a matter of daily news, in the West and beyond. With no limits anymore. If affects birth and death, technology and environment, politics, and migration, in short, the very nature of man. But is it the triumph of freedom or dictatorship, at the expense of the weakest? And what then is the other freedom, the one that feeds on truth and cannot exist without it?
Cardinal Camillo Ruini 89, a lifelong philosopher and pastor, discusses this with Gaetono Quagliariello, senator, professor of contemporary history at LUISS in Rome and president of the Magna Carta Foundation, in a lucid and impassioned book, on sale in Italy since February 20:...
An encyclical that "seems written today," so much have its predictions come true, but which too many - the cardinal notes - seem to have(been) set aside... 1. The Courage to Call It "Murder" ... Therefore the encyclical "Evangelium Vitae" of John Paul II does not hesitate to speak of murder and warns against the manipulation of language to hide reality. Instead he asks to have the courage to call things by their name: "voluntary abortion" and not the septic "termination of pregnancy."
2. No to Abortion in the Light of Reason: The basic justification for the attacks on human life is the claim to individual freedom: consider the slogan of the '70s, " My Body, My Choice." ... to the point of setting up this freedom as the absolute criterion for our choices. ... 3. A "Do Not Kill" That Applies Even More to Catholics. ... John Paul II writes - "and in communion with the Bishops of the Catholic      Church, I confirm that the direct and voluntary killing of an innocent human being is always gravely immoral (no.57) This solemn formula expresses an infallible and irrefromable pronouncement ... the pope uses the word "I confirm" and not "I declare" - to underline that this matter of a truth already belonging to the patrimony of the Catholic faith...

GREAT NEWS FOR THE PRO-LIFE MOVEMENT

GREAT NEWS FOR THE PRO-LIFE MOVEMENT
JUSTICE IS TRUTH IN ACTION - BLOGGER, CINOPS BE GONE, THURS., APRIL 2, 2020

Ref. National Review, Apr. 6, 2020 - "The Pro-Life Movement - You've Never Heard Of" by Alexandra DeSanctis. -  Selected Paragraphs
In November, 2019, the Church of God in Christ unveiled its "Resolution on the Sanctity of Human Life." It is the largest Pentecostal denomination in the U.S.A., with more than 4 million members, overwhelmingly African-American and Democratic.

"Abortion is genocide. Abortion must end to protect the life of the unborn.. The church of God in Christ opposes elective abortions," the resolution reads. "This issue of personhood has haunted America since the Dread Scott, Plessy v. Ferguson and Roe v. Wade decisions. Just as slavery was overturned in America, Jim Crow was defeated, and Nazi Germany was overthrown, it is our prayer that the heinous industry abortion become morally reprehensible worldwide."

Reverend Dean Nelson, executive director of the pro=life Human Coalition, tells me that the resolution is "historic and phenomenal." Nelson is one of a number of African-American leaders who work with the National Black Pro-Life Coalition, a network of groups seeking to "restore life, family and hop in the Black Community," according to its website.... The Church of God in Christ is one of the largest and most influential, so I think it was good for us to start there."...

Roland Warren is another African-American activist. He became pro-life after his college girlfriend became pregnant and was encouraged by a nurse to abort. Instead, she and Warren got married, she went on to become a doctor, and their first child graduated from Harvard. Today Warren leads Care-net, a network of pregnancy-resource centers. ... "The black community doesn't have another 46 years to suffer at the hands of Planned Parenthood and other abortion providers, because 20 million black lives have already been lost to abortion since 1973," Davis says, "That's more than the entire black population in 1960s America." ...

A 2017 Pew Research Center poll found that while 83 percent of white Democrats support legal abortion, only 66 percent of black Americans do. 35% of white Democrats say voters should support only candidates who favor legal abortion; only 7 percent of black Democrats say the same....

Reverend Clenard Childless, who the group Black Genocide to publicize the negative effects of widespread abortion in black communities. Ryan Bomberger o the Radiance Foundation has similar concern. "It is mystifying to me with decades of the result of undying devotion toward the Democratic Party, African Americans will give the party of slavery and unequal, the party of unlimited abortion their allegiance," he says...."The Left demonizes people based on whatever group they've shoved them into," Bomberger says, explaining why abortion-rights supporters often to pretend that black pro-lifers don't exist. "They talk about nuances, but they never act as if there are any. To them, all black people think alike. All black people do the same thing." ...

Over the last couple of decades, it has become increasingly common to see signs at anti-abortion events with messages such as "I am an atheist, and I am pro-life.... One of the largest groups representing them is Secular Pro-Life, founded in 2009 by Kelsey Hazzard, who says she noticed the need for a non-religious pro-life group during college....

Bukovinac says she was in instinctively pro-choice growing up but changed her mind after seeing videos of what happens during an abortion procedure. "You can't justify abortion nay more than you can justify the killing of a born person." she says: "There is no consistent,  objective distinction between an unborn person and a human being...

The March for Life organization produced a series of articles highlighting how the earliest feminists in the U.S. - suffragists such as Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Susan B. Anthony, and Alice Paul - opposed abortion, calling an exploitation of women....perhaps best synthesized in a line coined by Feminists for Life president Serrin Foster: "Women deserve better than abortion."...
