PREFACE:CONTENT: BLESSED TERESA OF CALCUTA

PREFACE: CONTENT: BLESSED TERESA OF CALCUTA

PREFACE: THERE ARE TWO PARTS TO THIS LETTER: PART 2 DEALS WITH POSTCRIPT AND YOU DECIDE. MOTHER TERESA WAS BORN IN A MUSLIM COUNTRY (ALBANIA) AND WORKED IN A HINDU COUNTRY (INDIA).

MAYBE SHE CAN ENLIGHTEN OUR MINDS WITH THE CONTROVERSY AT GROUND ZERO SEPTEMBER 11TH, 2001. WE FOCUS INDIRECTLY ON THREE MINDSETS. THEY ARE SECULAR, MUSLIM AND TRADITIONAL AMERICAN. I BELIEVE MOTHER TERESA CAN A HAVE POSITIVE INFLUENCE ON ALL.

Pope John Paul II beatified MOTHER TERESA on October 19th, 2003. Her Feast Day is Sept. 5th and her Patronage is “World Youth Day.” I obtained this information from Google. I like best her remarks at the National Prayer Breakfast in Washington D.C. on Feb. 3rd, 1994.

CONTENT: +++MOTHER TERESA IN HER WORDS+++

“Do not wait for leaders; do it alone person to person.” Mother Teresa taught us by her example what it really means to ‘live.’

On POVERTY: “The most terrible poverty is loneliness and the feeling of being unloved.” “The biggest disease today is not leprosy or tuberculosis, but rather the feeling of being unwanted.” “There is more hunger in the world for love and appreciation than for bread.”

ON ABORTION: “Abortion “is murder in the womb … A child is a gift of God. If you do not want him give him to me.” “The greatest destroyer of peace is abortion because if a mother can kill her child, what is left for me to kill you and you to kill me? There is nothing between.” “It is poverty to decide that a child must die so that so that you may live as you wish.”

ON HER LIFE’S WORK: “The miracle is not that we do this work, but that we are happy to do it.”

ON LOVE: “If you judge people, you have no time to love them.” “I have found the answer to the paradox, that if you love until it hurts, there cannot be more hurt, only more love.” “… when we die and it comes to time for God to judge us, he will NOT ask HOW many good things have you done in your life? Rather he will ask HOW much LOVE you put into what you did.” “Every time you smile at someone, it is an action of love, a gift to that person, a beautiful thing.”

ON SERVING GOD:
“Each poor person is God in disguise.” “I am a little pencil in the hand of God who is writing a love letter to the world.” “In this life we cannot do great things. We can only do small things with great love.” “Words which do not give the light of increase the darkness.” “We need to find God, and he cannot be found in noise and restlessness. God is found in silence. See how nature – trees, flowers, grass grows in silence; see the stars, the moon and the sun, how they move in silence … We need silence to be able to touch souls.”
