The Good News for Life in 2011

The Good News for Life in 2011
In pursuit of the truth – www.cinopsbegone.com – Friday, December 17, 2010

When Congress comes back in session, four pro-life leaders will take the helm of the U.S. House of Representatives. “Finally, the House leadership reflects the majority of Americans who are also pro-life,” said Dr. Yoest. She noted that the “Speaker-elect John Boehner told me that he wanted to be the most pro-life Speaker ever” and has been a friend and ally of Americans United for Life.

The bottom line is that there are now approximately 80 new pro-life members of the U.S. House, and approximately 50 of them will replace pro-abortion members. This included the defeat of about 30 Catholic-in-name-only Democratic politicians. A GREAT LIFE VICTORY!

The pro-life Susan B. Anthony List is also excited. They along with the above increased the number of pro-life women governors from one to four. Also, it is time to turn our pro-life electoral victories into legislative victories. Here are two examples:

1.)The “No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act,” is a bi-partisan bill sponsored by Reps. Chris Smith (R-NJ) and Dan Lipinski (D-IL) that would create a government-wide statutory prohibition on abortion funding…

2.)The “Title X Abortion Provider Prohibition Act,” sponsored by Rep. Mike Spence (R-IN) would ensure that abortion providers, including Planned Parenthood, do not receive federal dollars under the Title X federal family planning assistance program. According to the Government Accountability Office, abortion providers have received over a billion dollars in the past seven years. These bills are written and ready to go. Our pro-life leaders in Congress just need our help to push them to the finish line.

Let’s conclude with a personal message from Father Frank Pavone, National Director, Priests for Life, www.PriestsForLife.org – mail@priestsforlife.org

“I was recently in Rome and had the great honor to participate in a pro-life prayer vigil his Holiness Pope Benedict XVI… The Pope emphasized that God himself became a baby in Mary’s womb, and lived to save mankind through His death on the Cross. He went on to say we must all be concerned for the unborn, the most fragile, the most threatened by the selfishness of adults and the darkening of consciences… Now I want to do a special favor for you. On Christmas day, when I celebrate Mass, I want to pray for you and your family as we commemorate the birth of the baby Jesus.” Type your intentions via the above e-mail.

George H. Kubeck, Please telephone Congressmen in Orange County to support the above two bills.
