The War against the Truth, the Church and Orthodox Theologians*

The War against the Truth, the Church and Orthodox Theologians
In pursuit of the truth – www.cinopsbegone.com – Friday, July 29, 2011

1. *Journalism is meaningful only when it helps us to learn the truth. It can be a genuine calling only when there is a truth that is good. Then it is right and necessary to help this truth and to find its proper expression. The fundamental certainty that GOOD does exist and that we are created for it is not an obstacle to the work of the journalist, but rather makes it possible. It must be the first pillar of genuine journalistic ethics. Non-Christians, too, can find this fundamental certainty… [Jul 26th m.]

*It is impossible to act rightly without truth. That is why the will to know the truth, to seek it humbly and with a readiness to learn it, is the basic prerequisite of all morality… The fact that listening to the truth must precede all our actions means also that the will of God is superior to all our plans and projects. [July 27th meditation]

The Response: What do you do when journalism is dead and political correctness rules the nation? Both Dennis Prager and Glenn Beck talk about this matter. Are we prepared to speak the truth and to fight for it in the face of us being smeared by our opponents, the supporters for the culture of death? How do you deal with religious correctness? The overwhelming evidence and research in this blog is that a faithful Catholic cannot vote for any CINOP. (Catholic-in-name-only politician)

2. *“Look not upon the sins of the Church but upon by faith …”Should this really happen, the consequences will be grave: the faults of the individuals become the faults of the Church, and faith is reduced to a personal event, to my way of understanding and of accepting God and his demands. I REALLY FEAR THAT TODAY THIS IS A WIDESPREAD MANNER OF FEELING AND THINKING.

*It is another sign of how greatly in many places the common Catholic consciousness has distanced itself from an authentic conception of the Church. “We must go back to saying to the Lord: “WE SIN, BUT THE CHURCH THAT IS YOURS AND THE BEARER OF FAITH DOES NOT SIN.”… We must always bear in mind that the Church is not ours but his… Real “reform” is to strive to let what is ours disappear as much as possible so what belongs to Christ may become more visible. [July 28th m.]

*It is a well known to the saints. Saints, in fact, reformed the Church in depth, not by working up plans for new structures, but by reforming themselves. What the Church needs in order to respond to the needs of man in every age is holiness, not management.

2. *Wherever theology generates theological parties and these parties become Church parties, it has become a false wisdom. It creates enmities and embitters people. I must admit that what shocks me most deeply in many letters and publications is the rank hatred of the Church and her members that speaks through them. [July 29th meditation]

The Response: Are the theologians and writers at these magazines – America, Commonweal and National Catholic Reporter prepared to follow through on Pope Benedict’s analysis?

George H. Kubeck P.S. *without doubt, this book in 1992 by Pope Benedict, “Co-Workers of the Truth” when he was still a Cardinal overflows with common sense and reasonableness. The book is a guide for the Catholic Laity.

Chapter 6 and 7, and Conclusion: Reclaiming the Moral High Ground

Are you aware that we have a Catholic-in-name-only religion in the United States? Their patron saints and apostles are former Governor Mario Cuomo of New York and Father Robert Drinan, S.J. a former congressman from Massachusetts.

They believe and promote directly and indirectly, pro-abortion on demand, same-sex marriage, assisted suicide, euthanasia, and embryonic stem cell research. All of these are absolute evils. Don’t you think that the greatest enemy of the Catholic Church in the Americas is not the ACLU or Planned Parenthood but the many Catholic in Name Only Politicians in Congress and in the States?

Our focus today is on the conclusion section p.256-263 we will get to the other chapters at another time. .Let us return to CINOP Bill Press’s exact words for the rest of this page:

“How can Democrats get religion? The Challenge Facing Democrats: Since the 2004 elections, hundreds of hours of talk shows have filled with yapping about how Democrats can start winning elections again….

“There is only one thing Democrats have to do, and that is to reclaim the moral high ground that is rightfully ours. First, a word of caution: In so doing, Democrats can’t be phony about it. During the 2004 primaries, it didn’t help when Howard Dean said his favorite part of the New Testament was the Book of Job….

“To reclaim the moral high ground, all Democrats need to get back to their roots and talk about the moral values they believe in and the moral choices they are fighting for…

“In fact, any Democrat uncomfortable with public expression of religion might look back to FDR’s speeches. He sometimes sounds more like a preacher than a president. In a radio address on June 6, 1944, for example, Roosevelt informed the American people of the Normandy invasion and sought God’s blessings on the troops…

‘The Almighty God has blessed our land in many ways. He has given our people stout hearts and strong arms with which to strike mighty blows for freedom and truth.’ …

“The point is, Democrats don’t have to go overboard like FDR – or, even more often GWB. But neither need they fear admitting their faith, acknowledging the Divinity, saying they believe in family values, making a moral argument, or invoking God’s blessing.

“Democrats have the more recent example of Jimmy Carter, a devout Southern Baptist. Carter, the only president to teach Sunday school while in the White House, may be the most religious of all presidents….

“But when it comes to preaching the word of the Lord, even Jimmy Carter must take a back seat to Bill Clinton, also a Southern Baptist. Clinton has the passion, the cadence, the familiarity with Scripture that would make any African-American preacher proud….

“Roosevelt, Carter, and Clinton lead the way in helping Democrats find their moral voice. Democrats must take back the language of passion and moral conviction from the religious right….Indeed, for many voters spiritual and cultural concerns are more important than material concerns - …

“Democrats need to redefine and recapture what we mean by family values or moral values. …

“As George Lakoff, professor of linguistics at the University of California at Berkeley, wrote in the December .6, 2004, issue of THE NATION. ‘The only way to trump their moral values is with our own more traditional and more patriotic moral values.’…

“They need to challenge Republicans and say: * Abortion and gay marriage are not the only moral issues….

“The burden of redefining and lifting up moral issues must also be undertaken by religious leaders of the left, far too many of whom have gone into hiding….

“The political contest today is not between godly conservatives and ungodly liberals. The true battle is between religious conservatives & religious liberals….Whose issues better reflect the teachings of Jesus Christ?…”

Dear Friend in Christ,

“No Faithful Catholic can cast a vote for Obama.” Despite the support he has among liberal Catholic laity, priests and bishops. He advances a social agenda contrary to Catholic Church teaching on intrinsic evils. Please pass this episode around to as many family and friends as possible.

GOD Bless you and your loved ones,

Michael Voris
Senior executive producer, RealCatholicTV.com www.realcatholictv.com/speaking/engagements

P.S.It is by truth and love that Michael Voris has made this decision. The evidence is overwhelming with respect to intrinsic evils.

In my judgment, Obama is following the Change- America agenda of the Democratic Party. What is deeply disturbing is the soul of the CINOP (Catholic-in-name-only politician)! From the top to the bottom of Obama’s reelection campaign the CINOP is his main support. [Biden, Daley, Panetta, Sebelius, Durbin,Pelosi ...]

The bishops must realize the horrendous scandal and shame to the Catholic Church. “But if anyone causes one of these little ones who trust in me to lose faith, it would be better for that person to be thrown into the sea with a large millstone tied around the neck.”

With 1200 letters on this blog, I perceive no difference between a CINOP and a politician that promotes fornication, adultery and pornography. The intrinsic evils are abortion, partial birth abortion, infanticide, embryonic stem cell research, euthanasia, assisted-suicide, and same-sex marriage.

Chapter 5 – Gays and Lesbians are God’s Children, Too (cont’d)

Bill Press writes: “‘Hate is not a family value.’ That’s the slogan of a great organization called Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG). It’s a slogan that most Americans, conservative or liberal, believers & nonbelievers alike, accept as a given.” P.177. However, the Culture of Life has another slogan for (PFLAG) and we can work together on this: “Love of unborn babies is a family value!” There is an axiom and a truism that goes like this: If you want to help a mother, help her child. If you want to give joy to a mother give joy and happiness to her child. If you want to hurt a mother, hurt her child. If you want to kill something within a mother kill her child.

There are a lot of lies about the unborn. For example, when their personhood begins and how they feel when they are aborted. A baby that is born with a physical or psychological handicap is still a child of God. God does not create junk.

I do not believe that political correctness and Planned Parenthood cares. They are liars about the unborn and we know who the spirit and father of lies is. It is believed that about 3 percent of the 4000 babies aborted each day in the U.S.A, is handicapped with possible homosexual tendencies. How does a caring society treat these babies?

First of all, there is a difference between a homosexual and a gay person. The radical gay American Jacobin leaders have a political and social agenda for the country. They speak for themselves. (They are encouraged, promoted and financed by the culture of death secular humanists.) These gays do not speak for homosexual oriented persons. I have not seen any Gallup polling on homosexuals on whether they want to change the definition of marriage or publicly promote the lifestyle of gay unions as normal.

From a recent Cardinal Newman Society letter: Father John F. Harvey, O.S.F.S.,
“Back in 1980, the late Cardinal Terrence Cooke, at the time the Archbishop of New York, asked me to establish a new Catholic apostolate to minister to the spiritual and moral needs of homosexual men and women. In the twenty-five years since then, that apostolate – known as Courage – has helped thousands of homosexual persons find the way, through prayer and the Sacraments, to live in accord with the laws of God and the teaching of His Church. That is the key: live in accord with God’s law and Catholic teaching.

“This has always been the spiritual message of Courage which is why we have the endorsement of the Vatican’s Pontifical Council for the Family…. All people must be treated with dignity, but homosexual activity is sinful.

“Unfortunately, young Catholic men and women today are more often hearing a far different message about homosexuality. They’re hearing that … Homosexual orientation is genetically determined – a claim for which there is virtually no scientific evidence. Anyone who feels he might have a homosexual orientation should resign himself to it forever, because it cannot be changed – a demonstrate falsehood…. And worst of all, that homosexual acts and heterosexual acts are morally equivalent….”

Chapter 5- Gays and Lesbians are God’s Children, Too

We continue to probe the mind of the Catholic in Name Only Politician. On the couch we have CINOP Bill Press and the Bible in his own words.
“… Most Americans believe that Scripture, in both the Old and New Testaments, clearly tells us that homosexuality is wrong, sinful, unacceptable, and immoral….

A careful examination of Scripture – even those passages most often quoted as anti-gay – reveals that not only is the Bible less condemning of homosexuality than we were always taught, but that the Bible can actually be interpreted as either silent about, or supportive of, monogamous gay relationships...Most biblical scholars today agree that the story of Sodom and Gomorrah is not about homosexuality, but rather about hospitality…. As Christian editor Inge Anderson wrote in Sins of Sodom, ‘ To suggest that Sodom and Gomorra is about homosexual sex is an analysis of about as much worth as suggesting that the story of Jonah and the whale is a treatise on fishing.’ 157, 160, 161

Apostle Paul’s anguish over sex and the use of the phrase ‘thorn in my flesh’ is a sign that Paul himself was a closeted gay man – which of course would be the ultimate, but not impossible irony…. Paul was clearly a man of his time. In his writings, he reflects all the presuppositions and patriarchal assumptions – anti-woman, antigay, pro-slavery – of a first-century mind-set. 163

Indeed, had gay marriage not been on the ballot in Ohio, Bush would probably not have been reelected…. Morality is on the side of same-sex marriage, and not against it. You tell me: despite the fact that Pope John Paul II branded gay marriage as part of a ‘new ideology of evil’, what’s immoral about two people in love entering into a lifelong, committed, monogamous relationship? 166

If it’s wrong to say that the bible condemns same sex marriages, it’s also wrong to insist that marriage has always been between one man and one woman – and therefore must always remain that way. The facts simply don’t support it…. Polygamy, Augustine wrote, ‘is not contrary to the nature of marriage.’ 169

Nevertheless, as more and more courts are confirming, there are zero constitutional grounds for the state to deny the privilege and benefits of marriage to gays and lesbians…. It’s only a matter of time. Gays are already winning the cultural war…. It’s not surprising that gays and lesbians hold a gay pride parade every June in most American cities: they’ve got a lot to be proud of…. The next month there was another milestone. The government of Spain, a predominately Roman Catholic country, ignored the church’s opposition and took the first steps to legalize gay marriage. 172, 173

From the above and last 18 letters, you can understand why the CINOP is a very dangerous politician. He is absolutely a Trojan horse not only within the Catholic Church but within the American Republic. In matters pertaining to one’s Catholic faith and the Church’s Catechism, he is a fraud. Historically, we had these types in Germany and Italy. In my district, there are two running. Hopefully, one of them will have a conversion. CINOP, thy name is Fraud.

Michael Voris*- CIA/CCHD/Saul Alinsky^-The Meeting#
In pursuit of the truth – www.cinopsbegone.com –Friday, July 22, 2011

*Michael Voris graduated from Notre Dame in 1983 with a degree in Communications and concentrated studies in history and politics. He trained as a young man in theology at the doctrinally-sound St. Joseph’s Seminary in New York, but in April of 2009, he received his Sacred Theology Baccalaureate (STB) from Sacred Heart Major Seminary/Angelicum in Rome – Magna Cum Laude.

On September l, 2008, he partnered with www.realcatholictv.com the first ever online Catholic television station. The Vortex, of which Michael Voris is the creator and host and which has been seen by millions of viewers, as just a few of the many innovative programs you will find on www.RealCatholicTv.com They produced the must view video, “The CCHD and Saul Alinsky.”

With a passion for saving souls, Voris epitomizes what it means to be a member of the Catholic laity today – to live out each day, what is meant by the new evangelization, utilizing the tools of the 21st century.

^I viewed the video CD the day after the meeting of Wednesday, July 22, 2011. It was a shock. It kept me awake last night. Over hundreds of hours were spent by the CIA (Catholic Investigative Agency) by Voris in uncovering the true history of 40 years of “The Catholic Campaign for Human Development.” It reminded me of the 1950’s Congressional House Committee investigation reports on communist infiltration in the U.S. government. I read some of those reports.

It would have been better for the Catholic Church never to have met or closely associated with the atheist Saul Alinsky. They knew who he was. In 1947, he wrote “Revolt for Radicals.” This was about organizing for revolution and creating professional radicals. In 1971, Saul wrote “Rules for Radicals.” He dedicated this book to Lucifer who was the first rebel.

Saul is a special target of mine. He helped to destroy the public school and educational system in California. For decades prior to the 1960’s the N.E.A. and C.T.A. fought unions. Check their literature. Alinsky was one of the new advisors. Change to become a union! Talk about teacher power! Also you don’t have to worry about the competition from the New York teacher unions in your district. Enough said for now!

# It was an uplifting breadth of fresh air meeting. There were were over 40 persons from at least 15 churches. All were of one mind when it came to their belief in their Catholic faith. They had no problem with obedience to the “Encyclicals,” “The Magisterium” and “Catechism of the Catholic Church.” It seems that some of the bishops have this problem with obedience.

It was marvelous what technology with visual communication can do! Voris talked to us over the screen for about an hour and responded to questions. The whole meeting was made possible by a committee of six with Carol Blankfield.

It was the first meeting of Truly Catholics: United under the jurisdiction and authority of the Magisterium. You are invited to join and come to the next third of the month Wed. meeting – Aug. 17th, 6:45 P.M. @ Farmer and Merchant Bank: 12235 Seal Beach Blvd. Seal Beach, Ca. Chapter 4 – Abortion and Stem Cell Research (cont’d)

The end justifies the means. This is a most dangerous principle. It is also one of the most disturbing characteristics of the CINOP (Catholic in name only Politician). Bill Press’s seven pages on The Promise of the Stem Cell Research are one of the most deceitful and clever sections in the book. Bill dismisses the Bible’s clear reverence for life and “You don’t create life in order to destroy it.”

It is in your face for the Southern Baptist Convention and the Catholic Church because they are the only two major churches officially opposed to embryonic stem cell research. Bill says, “In terms of promise for new cures, medical scientists now consider Adult Stem Cells a dead end.” 147 Yet, there has not been one cure from embryonic stem cells. There have been several from adult stem cells. If embryonic stem cell research has such a great future where are the private investors? What is audacious, arrogant and desperate is Bill’s section on Doing the Lord’s Work. 151 “On stem cells, …What would Jesus do?

I don’t think there is any doubt. In fact, I would argue that, since their goal is finding cures for serious diseases afflicting millions of Americans, doctors who experiment with embryonic stem cells aren’t just doing academic research. They are doing the work of the Lord.

Stem cell opponents find no support in the Bible, but proponents find plenty
. After all, as every one of the four Gospels relates, Jesus spent much to His public ministry healing the sick. It was His life’s work.”

Have you noticed that any CINOP who takes a pro-abortion position in the public arena, becomes blind and stupid in other issues pertaining to the natural law and Christian social principles? There is the lady from L.A. County and in the State Assembly who is sponsoring an assisted-suicide bill. Then we have the CINOP in California who signed unto the same-sex marriage law. Last year, in Canada, these so-called Catholics passed the same-sex marriage laws for the whole country.

Then there is the CINOP in San Francisco and back East. “Massachusetts anti-discrimination law stipulates all state adoption agencies be open to placing children with gay couples. The Church teaches that gay adoption is “gravely immoral,” but the (heavily Catholic!) state legislature refuses to pass a “conscience clause” bill allowing morally opposed religious groups to opt out of such adoptions.” The Mormons would do it in Utah and the Baptists in any of the Southern States. What can we call this CINOP: a spineless wimp or coward? I would rather have a pro-life atheist represent me in Sacramento or Washington, D.C. than a CINOP.

All of the above is a devastating scandal involving deceit and heresy. The CINOP is unscrupulous with the end justifies the means principle. It worked in Italy and Germany during the 1930’s. You sacrifice the true beliefs of your constituents. Your goal is winning and now hiding behind the immigration issue. Monies from members of the ACLU and Planned Parenthood will pour in. Maybe prayers to St. Thomas More and a mailed book about his life will open their eyes, hearts and minds.

Chapter 4 – Abortion and Stem Cell Research (cont’d)

We continue to discern the mind and heart of Bill Press and try to figure out the thought processes of a CINOP – Catholic in Name Only Politician or Person.

When you read pages 123-4 you wonder, what’s going on in the mind of pro-abortion catholic politicians? Let’s take a look at the following page.

“… the one, consistent theme of all the world’s religions is their blatant discrimination against women. Based on a literal reading of Genesis, where Eve is created only a helpmate to Adam, churches have always considered and treated women as second-class citizens: forcing them to wear a veil, remain silent, or sit in a different part of the church … of course, the Catholic Church still denies women ordination….So religious opposition to abortion must be seen as part of a pattern – the churches’ long history of talking down sex and putting down women.” 125

“But, in other ways, St. Paul does still rule. There are no women priests in the Catholic Church and no conservative evangelical women preachers.” 130

“But there is no doubt that this paternalistic attitude toward women still shapes today’s debate on abortion. The inescapable fact is that only women are biologically capable of getting pregnant… MAKE NO MISTAKE ABOUT IT; IF MEN COULD GET PREGNANT, ABORTION WOULD BE A NON-ISSUE. MEN WOULD NEVER LET ANYBODY TAKE AWAY THEIR RIGHT TO CHOOSE… (127)

Note that Bill Press is a secular feminist par excellence.
“If you had listened to Pope John Paul II, you would have concluded that abortion is a ‘legal extermination’ comparable to the Holocaust… No way, Abortion is certainly not the most pressing issue facing the planet. Around the world, poverty, hunger, genocide, global warming, terrorism, and HIV/AIDS receive, and deserve, more attention…. the lack of health insurance for millions of American families, the declining quality of education in our public schools, a monstrous federal deficit, and chronic unemployment all rate higher on the national crisis scale.” (127)

Then Bill has the next four pages on “The Bible Is Silent On Abortion.”
All of the above in Bill’s book is like reading a fairy tale. The CINOP needs a refresher course on the Roman Catholic Faith. He can start with the Catechism and the recent pronouncement of Cardinal William Levada, “When you see Catholic politicians who favor abortion rights … you ask yourself how this person squares with his personal faith. Catholic politicians need to take this seriously. Maybe they need to say I’m not able to practice my faith and be a public representative.” March 21, 2006 (LifeSiteNews.com)

In closing, my State Senator Joe Dunn whom I have met is chairman of the State Judiciary Committee. Sadly, he is a CINOP. He has to vote on SB 1437 which would force transsexual, bisexual, and homosexual curriculum upon all California school children. SB 1437 is scheduled for a hearing on Tues. April 4, 2006. His telephone is [Deleted, he is not state senator anymore.] For more information visit www.savecalifornia.com

Ex-Gay Person Supports Michele Bachmann and her Husband

Ex-Gay Person Supports Michele Bachmann and her Husband
In support of the truth – www.cinopsbegone.com – Tuesday, July 19, 2011

Forewarned: The following news has been censored by the state news media, ex. O.C. Register: This truth is not politically correct and because of this our nation is not to be informed about this matter.

Ref. http://www.lifesitenews.com/home/print¬article/news31056/ - July 14, 2011

Mr. Bachmann has a PhD in clinical psychology and operates several counseling centers which also offer services to homosexual clients seeking to overcome unwanted same-sex attractions. But because of even one ex-gay proves that homosexual behavior is not innate or immutable, the gay lobby’s fear of their former members from exercising their right. They cannot bear to have even one homosexual leave homosexuality, hence their outrage at Dr. Bachmann.

I know because I am ex-gay myself. I suffer more harassment as a former homosexual than I ever did as n out and proud homosexual.

The ex-gay community includes thousands of former homosexual like myself who benefited from counseling. We did not choose our homosexual feelings, but we did exercise our right to seek help to change those feelings. AS A REGISTERED NURSE, I SAW HUNDREDS OF GAY MEN DIE OF AIDS BEFORE I FINALLY LEFT THE GAY LIFESTYLE.

Contrary to the myths being generated by outraged homosexuals, counseling for unwanted same-sex attraction is not prohibited by any medical association…

Dependent on the wealth of the gay community for his election and reelection campaigns, President Obama vigorously implements gay, bisexual and transgender policies at every level of the federal government, YET OMITS THE ONLY UNPOPULAR STATUS OF SEXUAL ORIENTATION – THAT OF EX-GAY. While the media look the other way, the ex-gay community is being harassed and publicly denounced by unforgiving gay activists because of our unpopular orientation.

Wayne Besen of the hate group Truth Wins Out, and other modern say Sauls, stalk and out ex-gays in a negative light to ensure that they retreat back into the closet. Lambda Legal supports the establishment of GLBT Centers at public universities but blocks any attempt at ex-gay equal access. Corporate shareholder resolutions to include ex-gays in anti-discrimination policies are repeatedly defeated by the gay community.

The Human Rights Campaign demands same-sex “marriage” for gays while fighting ex-gay equality… Ex-gays are not dangerous … We are the National Education Association Ex-Gay Education Caucus… We are doctors, teachers, ministers, family, and neighbors… If a gay man decides he wants to live as a healthy heterosexual, as I decided, should homosexuals have the right to veto that decision?

As for me, I long to live in an America where my friends and I are not hounded by gay activists because I chose to change from gay to straight.

Chapter 4 – Abortion and Stem Cell Research

There seems to be a hidden satisfaction and kind of devilish rebellion in the promotion of abortion on demand, euthanasia, same-sex marriage, and embryonic stem cell research by the CINOP (Catholic in Name Only Politician). There are also a number of Republicans in this area. They think they can get away and continue to fool Catholics at election time.

All of the above are absolute evils. They are not the prudential issues which CINOP Bill throws in as a smoke screen to fool you. “Consider moral shortfalls: the execution of innocent people on death row, the white collar crime that emptied the pension funds belonging to millions of workers, the latent racism that still denies many opportunities to African and Hispanic-Americans, or the fact that we citizens of the wealthiest nation on earth look the other way while 36 million Americans live below the poverty line.” (122)

As a starter, I would like to gather information and participate in a tentative court case of fraud and false advertisement for any CINOP in office or running for office in the political arena. In Orange County, the CINOP really does not represent any district. Maybe, they could in San Francisco because that is what we have. It is a dirty joke, an obnoxious scandal and the promotion of a false Catholic religion.

Fellow Christian Baptists and Evangelicals would not put up with members with this kind of hogwash politicians. Why should faithful Catholics be like sheep and be quiet about it? In Orange County, the CINOP includes the Congresswoman, one State Senator, two State Assemblymen, and one Supervisor. We will be focusing on the values voters.

Here is the “Statement on Responsibilities of Catholics in Public Life” by the U.S. Bishops’ conference. Washington, D.C., March 12, 2006 http://www.zenit.org

“A recent public statement by 55 Catholic and Democratic members of the House of Representatives offers an opportunity to address several important points about the responsibilities of Catholics in public life….Pope John Paul II’s apostolic exhortation on the vocation and mission of the laity, Christifideles Laici, which the representatives’ statement cites, declares:

The inviolability of the person which is a reflection of the absolute inviolability of God finds its primary and fundamental expression in the inviolability of human life. Above all, the common outcry, which is justly made on behalf of human rights – for example, the right to health, to home, to work, to family, to culture – is false and illusory if the right to life, the most basic and fundamental right and the condition for all other personal rights, is not defended with maximum determination ….

The human being is entitled to such rights, in every phase of development, from conception until natural death, and in every condition, whether healthy or sick. whole or handicapped, rich or poor. (38)… it is essential to remember that conscience must be consistent with fundamental moral principles… all Catholics are obliged to shape our consciences in accord with the moral teaching of the Church… Through dialogue, between Catholic political leaders & their own bishops, we hope to promote a better understanding of how the Church’s teaching on human life & dignity challenges us all.”

Chapter 3 – The Death Penalty

There are many pro-life Democrats in the State Legislatures throughout the country. Why are there none in California? We continue with a brief review of this chapter. Our purpose is to explore the mind and heart of a Catholic in Name only Politician and to make the derivative CINOP as common as U.N. or RINO – Republican in Name Only. Note that the CINOP is a true believer in the social gospel issues, but seemingly blind and uncaring about the life and family issues. We have on the one hand, the prudential decisions and on the other hand the absolute evil decisions. There is also a hope and prayer to bring the CINOP back to over-all Catholic Values.

In this part of Bill’s brain (the Death Penalty); his thoughts make a lot of sense. “In recent years, no group has been more out front opposing the death penalty than the Catholic Church. And this represents a big change. As seen above, church fathers like Augustine and Aquinas originally steered the church in favor of executions as a legitimate function of the state….At least the Catholic Church is consistent. Its official position – based on reverence for life – is against abortion, in all cases, and against the death penalty, in all cases….There is simply no way that the death penalty can be uniformly and fairly applied, nationwide….Life in prison without parole is the proven, reliable, humane alternative to the death penalty.” 108, 110- 112.

Prior to the above, Bill Press is very much annoyed with St. Paul. “In their lust to justify killing their fellow men and women conservative Christians practically leap with joy whenever they stumble upon St. Paul’s letter to the Romans. Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia, for example, believes that St. Paul in Romans 13:4 gives the state all the authority it needs to kill… Religious conservatives follow St. Paul only selectively. They embrace the death penalty, yet they are also the first ones to start complaining about paying their taxes….But more seriously, is there anyone living in the twenty-first century who actually takes St. Paul at his word?” 101-2 To prove his point, Bill quotes St. Paul.

Wives, submit to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord…. Slaves obey your earthly masters in everything that you do: Colossians 3:18, 22

Unfortunately, Bill Press quoted Mario Cuomo who is an outspoken death penalty opponent. As governor of New York in the 1980’s he begged the Vatican: “Please, please, please speak on this subject.” Readers need to be informed that Cuomo via his writings is the Patron Saint of pro-abortion Catholic politicians. In the process Mario muddied the waters of Catholic thinking and had a bad influence on the U.S. Bishops.

In hindsight, decades ago, the bishop should have talked to the CINOP. Please attend Mass on Sundays, but don’t receive Holy Communion. It would also have been the best for our Catholic Faith and for the viability and survival of the Democratic Party which has many Catholics registered as Democrats.

The Hottest Places in Hell ?

The Hottest Places in Hell?
In pursuit of the truth – www.cinopsbegone.com – Sunday, July 17, 2011

“And everyone will hate you because of your allegiance to me. But those who endure to the end will be saved.” Matt. 10:23

“We are meant to be a pilgrim people of Jesus Christ, ready to face the great examination in which the Lord himself will question us about the faith that should be in our life. We must witness to the Faith with the courage of faith in whatever place we are, in whatever place we live.” - Pope Benedict XVI – Co-Workers of the Truth – Meditation July 13th.

The hottest places in hell are reserved for those who remain neutral during a moral crisis.

S.B. 48 is a moral crisis: The cowardly Orange County Register’s neutrality on S.B. 48 is a moral crisis. At least, the Los Angeles Times editorialized in opposition to S.B. 48: Legalized Same-Sex Marriage in New York State is a moral crisis for the whole nation. In 30 states Americans voted against same-sex marriage laws. The moral crisis list in America can go on and on:

Blessed John Paul II is a great role for all Christians. He asked the laity to be engaged in the public arena. “Be not afraid.” Well, let’s start with a coffee break! We meet on the first Tuesday and the third Tuesday of each month between 9 A.M. and 10 A.M. at McDonalds on Valley View and Ball Road in Cypress, California

Be sure to read the 14+ pages book report on Bill Press’s “How the Republicans Stole Christmas.” The book is a classic in understanding the mind and heart of a CINOP (Catholic-in-name-only politician or person). It was posted on the blog Cinops Be Gone during this past week.

George H. Kubeck –

P.S. The interview by Raymond Arroyo with Bishop Nicolas Dimarzio on EWTN “World Over” needs to be studied. This bishop is not even in the shadow of Pope John Paul II who appointed him. The gay marriage law passed in New York State was a catastrophe for the Catholic Church and a wakeup call.

“He saw a great crowd and had pity on them. For they were like sheep without a shepherd.” That’s what we have in New York. The passage of this law was diabolic. May I share with you the demonic mindset of State Senator Jim Alesi.

He described his decision to support homosexual “marriage” as “anguishing” alluding to his change of position from two years before, when he opposed a similar measure. “I went to Mass Sunday in my church and I was warmly received. It doesn’t matter what religion you are, but I know in my religion, when I went up to receive Communion, my priest embraced me,” he said…

You don’t have to be in Rome to know that there is something rotten in the State of New York. Governor Andrew Cuomo has self-excommunicated himself from his Catholic Faith….

At this point it may be a good idea to view Real Catholic TV’s Michael Voris’s CIA episode CCHD/Alinksy. You can see it on Wednesday, July 20, 2011- 6:45 PM.

Meeting Location: Farmers and Merchants Bank: 12535 Seal Beach Blvd. Seal Beach, Ca. [just slightly north of the 405 Freeway].

Chapter 2 – Killing in the Name of Jesus - cont’d

It takes time to digest in the stomach of our minds the tragedy of pseudo-Catholics politicians in the political arena not only in Europe but in this hemisphere. For example, there is Fidel Castro in Cuba, Hugo Chavez in Venezuela and of course the CINOP in the Americas.

The most powerful weapon against the culture of death advocates is the truth. The reader will recognize lies. I hate a raw deal. Justice is truth in action. These misguided advocates of the culture of death need to be exposed. They are: Planned Parenthood and their supporters, the ACLU and their crowd, and the CINOPS, (Catholics in Name Only Politicians) who are as dangerous as any of the others in America.

Let’s increase Bill Press’s aggravation with a tape recorded about 1990, how
To Turn America Back to God, Christian Coalition, Box 1990, Chesapeake, VA 23327.

•This meeting is a meeting of destiny. We are living in an extraordinary time of history…. The greatest thing we can do for people is to give them opportunity, your right to have an open door in America and go as high as you want to….The best solution to welfare is a job and not a hand-out….

•This is a time when communism is failing and its sister is failing along with it and which is called humanism, secular humanism is falling apart because exhibit A is the failed monstrosity of the command society of Russia and when that came down so did the so-called elites of the United States. They just haven’t learned it yet. As someone said nobody anywhere in the world no longer believes in Marxism except professors in the U.S. universities caught in the 60’s time zone and it’s time to get them out of their jobs of teaching….

•This going to be the decade of the spirit, of spiritual values….

•We are hearing noises about a new world order. We are hearing that the U.N. which for 25 years was a silly joke suddenly is going to rule the world and those we were to cede the sovereignty of America to this organization that voted against our interest 85% of the time from its conception to the Gulf War….

•Regrettably, there is a movement coming from the East. A New Age type religion which is going to be challenging Christianity….

•Christianity has been in retreat for many, many decades under the assault of Liberalism and humanism…. And into that void steps an organization called Christian Coalition. (This is a Pat Robertson’s tape)

In closing, let us focus in on the straw that broke the camel’s back. The straw is the role that the CINOP played in the defeat of California’s Prop. 73 – Parental Notification Measure in Nov. of 2005. It was a defeat for family values and parental rights. This fact needs to be repeated over and over again in Orange County’s 34th State Senate District which I happen to live in.

There will be two CINOPS running in the Democratic primary, Tom Umberg and Lou Correa. In the Republican primary, we have Assemblyman Van Tran and Assemblywoman Lynn Daucher. Van Tran is Catholic, a parental rights and pro-family candidate versus Lynn Daucher, a RINO, supported by Planned Parenthood.

Chapter 2 – Killing in the Name of Jesus (cont’d)

It leaves a bad taste in my mind for anyone using the Jesus name to score political points and also to speculate on the motives of Christians on war and peace issues. It is the regular media ploy to denigrate and ridicule all Christians and that includes Catholics.

The CINOP Bill Press does have some good points and food for thought in this chapter. Here are several of the topics: Fighting a Just War, Fighting a Religious War in Iraq, The Day of Rapture is Near, No Such Thing as a “Just” Preemptive War, etc. However, as a Christian, Bill has an irrational anger against the Christian Coalition. If they had only supported his political party, all would be well. The Christian Coalition as with the pro-life movement has been marginalized, made fun off and often ignored by the secular media. Bill spouts the propaganda of the secularist agenda.

Let us take a historical perspective backwards from the 1990’s first and then to the 1930’s. From a tape of about 1990, what does the Christian Coalition believe?

•Their goal is decisions for Christ throughout the world. They are Christian and not ashamed of Jesus and that is why they are called the Christian Coalition. We are the only society where the elites (Academic and Moneyed) have turned against themselves and tried to destroy the country they live in. If we are not aware of our enemies we will lose.

•The first thing we believe is that Almighty God rules in the affairs of men and nations ignore his commandments at their peril.

•The second thing they believe is enunciated in the Declaration of Independence. We hold these truths to be self-evident. All men are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights. They believe that the liberty we have in America does not come from Washington, D.C. It comes from Almighty God. Government did not give it to us and government can’t take it away. Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness are fundamental rights. As Christians and as citizens of America, the primary right given by God is for the elderly and the unborn child. Furthermore, we resolve that and will not rest and will continue to assail the Legislature, Courts, and Liberals until every unborn child is safe in his mother’s womb in America. (to be cont’d)

In Report Card # 9, I noted that House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi of San Francisco, a (CINOP) Catholic was one of the 48 representatives who wrote a letter to the U.S. Bishops warning them that the “threat of withholding a sacrament will revive latent anti-Catholic prejudice.” This bothers me a lot. Maybe, you can figure it out. Well, thanks for the warning CINOPS. Catholic Laity organizations are so timid. Resolutions should be passed condemning this kind of indirect blackmail of our Catholic Bishops.

Ex-Catholics trying to justify their political positions can be very dangerous. During the 1930’s, there were quite a number of pseudo-Catholics in leadership positions in the National Socialist Party in Germany. Ask the survivors of the Holocaust. Hitler and Goebbels were ex-Catholics.

1.Professor Robert George” “They [s-s-marriage advocates] rarely have the foggiest notion of what the arguments are in support of the view they reject or what the intellectual challenges are for the view they hold. They already know the truth and that’s that. So what need is there for reflection, study, deliberation & debate? Why argue with intolerant & anti-civil rights bigots” To the barricades.”

“Of course there is an astonishing degree of ignorance on display in all this, especially when considered in proportion to the certitude and moral passion of liberalism’s true believers. Perhaps it is too much to ask of them, but for those who might perhaps secretly when no “sophisticated urbane friends are looking and want to know why those of us on the other side dissent, and who might be writing are the damning intellectual challenges that “same-sex” marriage advocates have not met and cannot meet here again is the link to “What is Marriage?”

2. J. Peter Nixon‘s “Don’t Lose Ugly” – The Future of Marriage July 15th of “Commonweal”:

“Ten years from now, I would be extremely surprised if gay marriage had not been legalized in most of the Northeast and West Coast. Within 25 years, I expect that the number of states where gay marriage is legal will outnumber those where it is illegal… Opponents of gay marriage – among whom I would include the U.S. Catholic bishops – are going to lose this fight.” [The writer doesn’t consider himself an opponent of gay marriage. Remember that this is so-called Catholic magazine is read by some bishops. They also read “The National Catholic Reporter” which promotes sophisticated heresy.]

“While bishops have not only the right but also the responsibility to bring Catholic teaching into the public square, they also need to do so in ways that do not make them seem uniquely obsessed with the sins of gays and lesbians.” [Bishops are duty bound to inform and minister to homosexually inclined Catholics. This lifestyle is not biologically normal and self-destructive.][What we have is a liberal mindset unattached to the “Catechism of the Catholic Church,” “The Magisterial,” and St. Thomas Aquinas? This mindset has corrupted Catholic academia.]

3. Bishop Thomas J. Olmstead, “Catholics in the Public Square” 18) Are there any “non-negotiable” issues for Catholics involved in politics? There are several issues.

•Protection of life in all its stages, from the first moment of conception until natural death;

•Recognition and promotion of the natural structure of the family as a union between a man and a woman based on marriage and its defense from attempts to make it juridically equivalent to radically different forms of union which in reality harm it and contribute to its destabilization, obscuring its particular character and its irreplaceable social role;

•The protection of the rights of parents in educate their children:

Breaking News: "CINOP" Gov. Brown Signs SB 48

Breaking News: “CINOP” Gov. Brown Signs SB 48
In pursuit of the truth – www.cinopbegone.com – Thursday, July 14, 2011

From: kengland@capitolresource.org –

Preface: As a retired public California school teacher, CINOP (Catholic-in-name-only politician, A FRAUD) Governor Brown politicizes the teaching profession and continues to destroy it as he did in 1975 when he signed SB 160. This law legalized industrial type unionism in public education. GHK)

“CINOP Governor Brown capitulated to pressure by the homosexual community and signed Senate Bill 48 by Senator Mark Leno.”

“Moments ago, Brown signed SB 48 and said, “History should be honest,” the Democratic governor said in a written statement. “This bill revises existing laws and prohibits discrimination in education and ensures that the important contributions of Americans from all backgrounds and walks of life are included in our history books. It represents an important step forward for our state, and I thank Senator Leno for his hard work on this historic legislation.”

SB 48 is an attempt to indoctrinate children as young as five to not only accept but also endorse homosexuality through our social science curriculum specially history, history books and instructional materials. [K-12 grades]

“Governor Brown refused to listen to the thousands and thousands of calls by pro-family, traditional values voters asking him to veto SB 48,” says Karen England, executive director of CRI. “He ignored over half of the people in our state to implement a controversial, objectionable, and poor school policy measure into California’s classrooms.”

“SB 48 does absolutely nothing to reduce bullying, improve the state of our education system, ensure students graduate, or prepare them for global competitiveness,” said Paulo Sibaja, legislative director of CRI. “Instead it diverts precious classroom time away from science, math and reading, and writing and focuses on the agenda of a small group of people.”

“Senator Leno and supporters of SB 48 argued that students would stop bullying others if they learned the sexual preference of certain figures yet they failed to mention most bullying is not based on homosexuality. Also, the implementation of SB would cost Californian’s a lot of money since textbooks would have to be changed in order to meet the mandate of SB 48. The Governor failed to take SB48’s flawed assumptions into consideration and in doing so sign a bill that would harm children’s developing minds by thrusting confusing and controversial concepts not age appropriate.”

“Capitol Resource Institute (CSI) is working with a coalition of family advocacy groups on our next step following the Governor’s signage of SB 48. We will continue to follow further developments and keep you informed.

Chapter 2 – Killing in the Name of Jesus (cont’d)

There is a Catholic Laity that has common sense and wisdom. What can Bill Donohue of Catholic League of Religious and Civil Rights teach us indirectly in dealing with the CINOP and the Bill Presses of the world? In the district I live in we are going to have a CINOP running for office in the State Senate race.

Here is the gist of a talk Bill Donohue gave in Orange County in 1996, via a Cardinal Mindszenty Society Conference. 3-23-96. * Pope John Paul II has asked the laity to be engaged. First of all, the Catholic League does not get involved in any kind of internal Church dispute. Bill is not a spokesman for the Catholic Church. The League is there so that the voice of the Catholic Church, the clergy in particular can be heard.

Stop being a doormat and be proud of your Catholicism. That is why I deplore Anti-Semitism. I learned it in the Catholic schools. We need to get up to the plate and speak back, the way the Jews have been doing it for years.

Be aware that the Catholic Church is proudly counter cultural. By this we mean that the Catholic Church teaches about freedom and that freedom is the right to do what you ought to do. Our culture teaches freedom is the right to do whatever you want to do. That is why a lot of the elites hate us.

You can organize a phone tree and this is very effective for any cause. You can form you own little citizen Ad Hoc Committee. Get yourself a lawyer and a 501 C3 Status. Get yourself some letter head and a fax. You will be surprised what you can do once you have a name behind you. *

And now let me share some tough love. The truth hurts. Since the Roe vs. Wade Decision, Jan. 22, 1973, the CINOP is responsible for Catholics leaving the Church for another religion, watering down and rewriting our Faith and Tradition, and fueling anti-Catholicism in America. The Alito Hearings were an education for all Americans and in particular for Catholics. I apologize to the Baptists, Evangelicals and other Christians for the CINOPS during the Confirmation Hearings. The Catholic in Name only Politicians promote the Culture of Death. They embarrass and denigrate our Catholic Faith.

Senator Edward Kennedy is concerned about the March for Progress and expanding Civil Rights. For him, this means giving absolute rights and legal status to the agenda of the ACLU and redefining the meaning of words like Marriage. I am really fed up with Catholic Liberals in Canada and Catholic Socialists in Spain passing same-sex marriage laws. This is a disgrace of the highest order and we need to stop it in the U.S.A.

The party and principles of John F. Kennedy are dead. They do not exist in California, Massachusetts or New York. Why remain registered with a dead party? The least you can do is to reregister to Decline to State. This would be a good start for all including Christian clergy and Religious and the staff at the California State, and the National Catholic Conference of Catholic Bishops.

The CINOP is an albatross around the neck of the Catholic Church’s new evangelization. The CINOP must be shamed, shunned and defeated at election time.

These letters are reprinted on the blog – Cinops Be Gone during the past five weekends for all, including the Catholic Bishops who are meeting this coming week in Baltimore. The purpose is to understand the mind and heart of a Catholic-in-name-only politician, also known as a pro-choice Catholic politician. For our Catholic Faith, the pro-choice Catholic politician is the most dangerous Catholic politician in America. He is the scandalous role model for the second largest uninformed religious group in America. GHK

Chapter 2 – Killing in the Name of Jesus

There are serious differences between the culture of death and the culture of life mentality in America. This week’s confirmation debate in the Senate on Judge Sam Alito for the Supreme Court may enlighten us, particularly on the pro-abortion Pseudo-Catholic Senators. You will hear a lot of Spin. Bill Press is a master at Spin. He wrote a book on it,titled, Spin This. Here are a couple of quotes:

“There is no good definition of spin. It’s easier to say what it is not than what it is. It’s not the truth. Neither is it a lie. Spin lies somewhere between: almost telling the truth. But not quite; bending the truth to make things looks as good – or as bad – as possible; painting things in the best possible – or worst possible – light.… Spin has its roots in what was first described as ‘Newspeak’ by George Orwell in his novel 1984.

(Orwell may have gotten the date wrong, but he was right about everything else.) In the totalitarian state he described, the ruling party controlled thought by controlling the language. The key was ‘doublethink,’ as expressed in ‘doublespeak’ – by which one says the exact opposite of what one means, yet ends up believing it to be true: ‘War is Peace,’ ‘Freedom is Slavery,’ and ‘Ignorance is Strength.’”

Now this is a technique used by the Catholics in Name only Politicians and their supporters. There was a time when you were born a Catholic and then always a Catholic. Now we have ex-Catholics and converts to another Christian religion. But we also have the CINOP. He is against the death penalty and for almost all Catholic Social Teachings in the public arena and in this way rationalizes his pro-abortion, euthanasia, same-sex marriage stands. He is truly an indoctrinated secular humanist type originating in the 1960’s and from a failed Catholic Higher Education System. To get himself elected, the CINOP uses false advertising as a Catholic.

Now what Pro-Life is facing in America is that the ruling party is the Culture of Death Mentality. It controls the language and the issues to be focused on. It is the media, Hollywood, Academia etc. They also have a double-standard. The two exceptions are: Talk Radio and Fox News. Modernism is suicidal like in Europe.

Bill Press believes that the war in Iraq is not a just war. Only the American Southern Baptist Convention – plus a scattering of conservative Catholics and Orthodox Jews – supported the war. He errs in denigrating the religious beliefs of Christian Coalition Leadership with ridicule. This is not Christian talk but repeating secularist propaganda.

He continues with a consistent animosity to other Christians in the book. They did not vote for Kerry but so did a majority of Catholics. He is a cry-baby and a religious bigot.

Christians and particularly, Catholics need some kind of antidote to the Culture of Death Mentality. I believe membership in the Catholic League for Religious and Civil Rights and the Cardinal Mindszenty Society would be a good beginning. It would be like getting the flu shot. I have been a member for more than 25 years.

Indirect and Direct Comments on S-S-Marriage in N.Y.
In pursuit of the truth – www.cinopsbegone.com – Wednesday, July 13, 2011

“Same-sex marriage sacrifices the needs of the poor who are hurt the most when a sound public understanding of marriage and sexual morality collapses.” This needs to be repeated over again.

Continue to check out this blog: http://www.catholicvote.org/discuss/index/php?p=18773

1. Professor Robert George: “So people are calling you “intolerant” and an “anti-civil rights bigot”? Well, for those who have absorbed the premises of sexual liberation and embraced it dogmas so fanatically that they can’t fathom the possibility that any reasonable person of goodwill could dissent from them that what people like you and me seem to be. Like overly impassioned believers at all time and in all places these folks suppose that anyone who doubts the tenet of their faith must have malign motives. Dissenters from what they regard and unquestionable orthodoxy must be “haters” the modern word for “heretics.”

It’s ironic - and amusing – that these folks regard themselves as urbane sophisticated people – critical thinkers who are much smarter and better informed (not to mention more “tolerant” and open-minded) than their opposition… to be continued [The arrogance of this stupid elite is stupendous.]

2. Radio Personality Hugh Hewitt: - http://www.zenit.org/article-31840?I=english “US Morality Tank needs Refill” – “Moral Leadership requires Courage” “Who is going to Lead? Moral Character and the Future of American Public Life,” was Hewitt’s topic to more than 500 in the refectory at the Archdiocese of Denver on Tuesday.

[If Hewitt had talked to the Archdiocese of New York, maybe we would not have Same-Sex Marriage passed in New York last week. We have also an absolute poverty of Catholic Laity Leadership! It is shameful and tragic!]

“What’s the solution? Moral leadership,” he said. “Vibrant, confident, talented moral leadership.” There are many examples of voices in American history, Archbishop Joseph Rummel of New Orleans, whom Archbishop Charles Chaput of Denver wrote about in recent years, and Archbishop Leo Burke of St. Louis…

3. Mr. John Keenan, O.P., J.D., promoter of peace & justice, Western Dominican Province:

“Our Pastors need to preach faith and morals.” Reference the letter by the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops on April 13, 2011 on the matter of the federal budget – justice and moral obligations – debt and deficits – common good and health care. - …nearly 2000 years ago, the Roman Empire fell for 3 main reasons:

1. Declining moral values and political civility at home, 2. an overconfident military in foreign lands 3. Government fiscal irresponsibility… The real Gospel focus of the American bishops is not a call for governmental action, but the moral make-up of our country. Every resource of the bishop bishops should be focused on improving the mediocre catechetical teaching and preaching that occurs around the country, many pastors fail to teach or preach, but often cite platitudes and generalities during the Homily at Holy Mass.

What is needed? True preaching. If the bishops want to change the culture and touch the hearts of the American people that will ultimately guide the Congress, then preach.

Michele Bachmann Ex-Democrat

Michele Bachmann Ex-Democrat
In pursuit of the truth – www.cinopsbegone.com – Tuesday, July 12, 2011

Marcus Bachmann, Michelle’s husband of 33 years, immediately knew that she was different. In the spring of 1976, when they were both sophomores at Winona State University in Southeastern Minnesota, he spotted her across the playground at an elementary school near campus, where they supervised recess and youth sports. They were both (barely) paying their way through school and jumped at the chance to make a few dollars. [Article by Robert Costa, National Review, July 18th]

“Every day, we walked from the elementary school to the college,” Marcus tells me. On those strolls, they opened up to each other. “Michele was interested in intellectual philosophical, and political conversations,” he says. The summer after she graduated from high school in Anoka, Minn., she had worked on a kibbutz in Israel, and she fascinated him with her stories.

The pair became fast friends, and soon the relationship blossomed beyond the schoolyard. That summer they worked on Jimmy Carter’s presidential campaign. Both were pleased that Walter Mondale, Minnesota’s favorite son, was chosen to the Georgia Democrat’s vice-presidential nominee. “By the time we were dating,” she says, “He told me that it’d cost $100, and I said ‘No way,’ since I would not put 24 cents in a soda machine. But we went, and we danced at an inaugural ball.”

For Bachmann, the experience was a thrill, especially seeing the Capitol dome for the first time, a sight that moved her to tears. But that was her last dance with democratic politics. By the spring of 1978, their senior year, she and Marcus were planning a post-graduation fall wedding. Their affection for Carter was evaporating. They talked about how he was aimless in foreign policy and a blubbering mess on social policy, his supposed strength.

A key moment in their political development came that spring when they both attended a campus screening of the Francis Schaefer film How Should We Then Live? The Rise and Decline of Western Thought and Culture. “The message encouraged our beliefs that life is precious.” Marcus tells me, reflecting on how the evangelical thinker influenced them.

Michele agrees. From that moment, her pro-life and family values began to crystallize into a firm political worldview. After years of seeing politics as partisan scraps, Bachmann began to notice a difference between the Democrats she grew up with in Waterloo and the monolithic Left running Jimmy Carter’s Washington.

The final straw came on a train ride back home one evening in the late Seventies. Bachmann was reading Gore Vidal’s Burr, a historical novel. When she realized that passage after passage was mocking the founding fathers, she threw the book down, disgusted with how the liberal writer described her heroes.

“I was offended,” she says. “When I grew up in a Democratic family, we were respectful of the founders, we were very patriotic, we loved the country, and we were reasonable fair-minded Democrats, like many of them are. I put the book down, looked out the window, and thought that this is not what I recall growing up. I thought I must not be a Democrat; I must really be a Republican. A couple years later, in 1980, both Bachmanns back Ronald Reagan [who also was an ex-Democrat]…

Chapter 1 – Separation of Church and State (cont’d)

Our American Vietnamese citizens and immigrants know all about reeducation camps. They and their relatives have experienced it in Communist Vietnam. The same can be said for our Americans of Cuban and Korean descent.

This is what Bill Press’s book is all about. It is a reeducation and brainwashing book for practicing and non-practicing Catholics, particularly if one does not have a deep knowledge of our Catholic beliefs and history of our country. As a pseudo-Catholic, Bill’s book is for all readers to change their beliefs and accept abortion on demand,
same-sex marriage, euthanasia and assisted suicide, embryonic & stem cell research, and finally, the over-all secular agenda as part and parcel of our Constitution.

Before moving on to the next chapter, I do not believe that the Founding Fathers supported an absolute wall of separation between Church and State. Their words speak for themselves.

It is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the Providence of Almighty God, to obey His will, to be grateful for His benefits, and to humbly implore His protection and favor. George Washington, Oct. 3, 1789, Proclaiming a Day of Prayer & Thanksgiving

We have been assured, Sir, in the Sacred Writings, that ‘except the Lord build the House, they labor in vain that build it.’ I firmly believe this; and I also believe that without His concurring aid we shall succeed in this political building no better than the builders of Babel.” Ben Franklin, Constitutional Convention, June 28, 1787

God who gave us life gave us liberty. And can the liberties of a nation be thought secure when we have removed their only firm basis, a conviction in the minds of the people that these liberties are a gift of God? That they are not to be violated but with His wrath? Indeed, I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just; that His justice cannot sleep forever. Thomas Jefferson, 1781

I have a tender reliance on the mercy of the Almighty; through the merits of the Lord Jesus Christ. I am a sinner. I look to Him for mercy; pray for me. Alexander Hamilton, Last dying words, July 12, 1804. Alex is the Founding Father, a little giant.

U.S. Supreme Court Decision, 1892 – Our Laws and our institutions must necessarily be based upon the teachings of the Redeemer of Mankind. It is impossible that it should be otherwise; and in this sense and to this extent, our civilization and our institutions are emphatically Christian.

Here is what has happened to America since prayer was removed from the public schools in 1962: Sat Scores (Combined Math and Verbal Scores) down 10%, Teen Suicide (15-19 year-olds) up 450%, Child abuse up 2,300%, Illegal Drugs up 6,000%, Criminal Arrests of Teens (14-17 year-olds) up 150%, Divorce up 350%, Births to Unmarried Girls (15-19 year-olds) up 500%. Chapter 1 – Separation of Church and State (cont’d)

We are going to move into territory which may be eye opening. The purpose is to understand the CINOP (Catholic in name only politician), like Bill Press, San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newson, Senators Kennedy, Leahy, Durbin, Dodd, Biden, Susan Collins, Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez and others. While anyone can call himself a Catholic in the public arena, is he or she a Catholic within the Catholic Church?

You decide on the following three excerpts relating to the CINOP’s behavior.

1) “On May 17, 2003, Francis Cardinal Arinze, prefect of the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments, delivered the address at the graduation ceremonies. (Georgetown) He stated: ‘In many parts of the world, the family is under siege. It is opposed by an anti-life mentality as is seen in contraception, abortion, infanticide and euthanasia. It is scorned and canalized by pornography, desecrated by fornication and adultery, mocked by homosexuality, sabotaged by irregular unions and cut in two by divorce.’

Part of the audience was quite upset with the reference to homosexuality, Students walked out and a theology professor stomped off the stage. Later, an official letter of protest was signed by nearly seventy faculty members.” 28

Defending a Higher Law, The American Society for the Defense of Tradition, Family and Property, 2004, www.tfp.org (800) 661-0272

2) “House Minority leader Nancy Pelosi of San Francisco, a Catholic, was one of 48 representatives who wrote a letter to the U.S. Bishops warning them that the ‘threat of withholding a sacrament will revive latent anti-Catholic prejudice.’ (A religion that can only avoid prejudice by refusing to take itself seriously is not long for this world.) San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom had already made headlines by issuing same-sex marriage licenses at City Hall. Newsom calls himself a Catholic, but, according to the Chronicle, said he ‘fundamentally disagrees with Catholic Church teachings on stem cell research, abortion rights, same-sex marriage and birth control.’ He had received Communion just the other day, he added, although he declined to say where. ‘I have lots of priests who are family friends.’ But his conscience was ‘clear.’” 21- Jan.06

New Oxford Review, Tom Bethel, Archbishop Levada: Advancing…Chessboard

3) “Thus, the proponents of the fundamental option theory posit three, rather than two, major categories of sin (in terms of their seriousness): venial sins, grave sins, and mortal sins. Mortal sins would include only those acts in which a person radically altered his fundamental option. … Pope John Paul II then explicitly rejects the notion that not all sins committed with free consent, full knowledge, and grave matter are mortal sins…in his rejection of the fundamental option theory …this theory is directly opposed to the teachings of the Church.” 28 Homiletic & Pastoral Review, A critical analysis of the fundamental option theory, Thomas J. Centrella, Jan. 2006

St. Thomas Aquinas is the holy patron of schools. Truth is the light. The CINOP prefers darkness. It’s time to put these phonies, and culture of death kissing Catholic politicians in their place, seriously counseled by their bishops, and voted out of office.

Direct and Indirect Comments on S-S Marriage in New York # 1

Direct and Indirect Comments on S-S-Marriage in New York # 1
In pursuit of the truth – www.cinopsbegone.com – Monday, July 11, 2011

http://www.catholicvote.org/discuss/index/php?p=18773

Lopez: Why should anyone care about the debate anymore? A man and a man can legally get married in New York. The die is cast. Besides, who wants to be an intolerant civil-rights bigot… or so my inbox called me all weekend again. [An America with same-sex marriage is not America anymore!]

1. Professor Robert P. George: Well, people should care because the whole edifice of sexual-liberationist ideology is built on damaging and dehumanizing falsehoods. It has already done enormous harm – harm that falls on everybody, but disproportionately on those in the poorest and most vulnerable sectors of our society. [This reminds me of the Black American families in letter Monday, June 27th, “False Ideas are Killing America.”]

If you doubt that have a look at Myron Magnet great book “The Dream and Nightmare the Sixties Legacy to the Underclass” or some of the writings of Kay Hymowitz and other serious people who have examined the social consequences for the poor of the embrace of sexual liberalism by celebrities and other cultural elite. Marriage is a profound human and social good it weakening and loss is a tragedy from which affluent people can be distracted & protected by their affluence for only so long.

The institution of marriage has already been deeply wounded by divorce of nearly plague levels, widespread non-marital sexual cohabitation and other damaging factors. To redefine it out of existence in law is to make it much more difficult to restore a sound understanding of marriage on which a healthy marriage culture can be rebuilt for the good of all. It is to sacrifice the needs of the poor who are hurt the most when a sound understanding of marriage and sexual morality collapses. It is to give up on the truth that children need both a father and mother and benefit from the security of their love for each other… to be continued.

2. Comments by Ben Anderson: I am not keen enough of politics to judge whether Archbishop Dolan did enough beforehand. However, I do have a good understanding on 2 points I would like to make. # 1 the diocese of Rochester, N. Y. led by bishop Matthew Clark has created an environment where many Catholics feel that they are obliged to support legislation. Many outside New York find that a ridiculous statement, but nevertheless it is true. Homosexuality has been subversively (and even openly at times) by our local Church hierarchy. I’ve heard that the diocese of Albany is as bad with Bishop Hubbard. I can’t speak for the other dioceses as that is beyond by realm of understanding…

3. Comments by GHK: The following is a painful reality analysis: Read from the blog “Nancy Pelosi vs. the Knights of Columbus- Sunday, Oct. 24th, 2010.” Secondly, read the 8 to 10 letters on the blog within the last five days, titled, “Report Cards 1-10 on Bill Press’s Book.” This was posted on the blog and not e-mailed because you receive enough e-mails.

The evidence is absolutely conclusive that the mindset of CINO politicians was the driving force for same sex marriage in Mass., and N.Y. State. What do we do?

George H. Kubeck, Maybe Hugh Hewitt, Mr. John Keenan, O.P., J.D., and J. Peter Nixon can help us.

Chapter 1 – Separation of Church and State (cont’d)

These are trying and confusing times for Christians. We are living with managed news and enduring the barnyard of the culture of death. It is hard to think of today’s media during World War II and the Korean conflict. We would have lost both wars. We did in Viet Nam and that is what they are trying to do in Iraq. As a ten year old, I recall Pearl Harbor, early afternoon. The elders were playing cards.

There is something about the culture of death as enunciated by Pope John Paul II that is suicidal not only for the person but for the nation. Think of a mindset that promotes abortion, infanticide, euthanasia, assisted suicide and wants to rewrite the definition of marriage via judicial activist judges. Supreme Court nominee Samuel Alito is not a judicial activist. He will be attacked and smeared. Watch carefully the CINOP’s, as the Senate hearings begin. These are the dangerous Catholics in name only politicians.

In support of this absolute wall of separation of Church and State, Bill Press has four sections titled, “Our Founding Fathers Did Not Call Themselves Christians. We are not a Christian nation. The Founders clearly intended to build a wall of separation to protect Church from State – and to protect State from Church. American Law is not based on the Ten Commandments.” All of the above are half-truths with some pabulum and hogwash. Bill does have some common sense in the following which undercut his beliefs.

“Our system of laws is based, above all else, on the natural law: the universal standards of behavior our Founding Fathers recognized as necessary and obvious to all men and women in order to live together peacefully in community.” 64

The following are excerpts from Daniel L. Dreisbach book, Real Threat and Mere Shadow, Religious Liberty and the First Amendment, Crossway Books, 1987, p.47-52

The historical record indicates that foremost in the draftsmen’s minds was the construction of an amendment designed to prohibit restraints on the free exercise of religion and to proscribe the establishment of a national church….Writing for the Court in Everson v. Board of Education (1947) Justice Hugo Black, invoking a Jeffersonian metaphor, asserted that the First Amendment erected “a wall of separation between church and State which “must be kept high and impregnable”…Roger Williams articulation of the “wall of separation” is found in a tract entitled, ‘Mr. Cotton’s Letter…’

Williams’s evangelical view held that a “wall of separation” was necessary to safeguard religious truth from the rough and corrupting hand of the civil government.”…

Critics of the Everson opinion have contended that the history endorsed by the Everson Court is not only historical flawed, but, at times utterly unfounded. …In the words of Michel J. Malbin, the Supreme Court Justices “have been acting almost as if their recognition of their predecessors’ historical errors have liberated them from the need to consider what purposes the members of the First Congress may have meant the religious clauses to serve.”

… As historian Rousas John Rushdoony has argued, the concept of the secular state did not exist at the beginning of the War of Independence, nor was it recognized at the Constitutional Convention or in 1791 when the Bill of Rights was ratified by the states. Therefore, to interpret the Constitution as the “charter for a secular state is to misread history and to misread it radically…”

Chapter 1 – Separation of Church and State (cont’d)

“In March 2005, Senator Rick Santorium (R-Pa.) organized a course on Catholic doctrine for Republican Catholic members of Congress. Classes were taught by a priest in Santorium’s capitol office.” 36

This has been a spiritually uplifting week not only for Catholic Christians but for all Christians. On Sunday, we had the birth of Jesus, then St. Stephen, the first Martyr, St. John the Evangelist, the Feast of the Holy Innocents, St. Thomas Becket, the Feast of the Holy Family, and today St. Sylvester.

What is this week for the Catholic-In Name-Only- Politician (CINOP) and his supporters? How was the mindset of these Catholics formed? Why are they blind to Life as the first inalienable right and to Pope John Paul’s Gospel of Life? We see few Baptist/ Evangelicals-In-Name-Only Politicians but many CINOP’S.

Patrick J. Reilly made a key point in his talk at the Cardinal Mindszenty Society Conference on Apr. 9th, 2005 at Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois, titled, Fighting the Catholic Campus Wars: A Success Story. “What are the greatest challenges that are facing the Catholic Church? Shortage of Priests, lack of faith, no instruction, lack of trust in God; I am also thinking of the priest-sex scandal, the Terri Schiavo case, abortion, euthanasia and the growth of the movement to euthanasia, and homosexual activism.

I want to make a point up front that every single one of these issues both the roots of the problem and the solutions are to be found largely in Catholic Higher Education. If we can reform Catholic Higher Education we can significantly address every one of these issues.”

All of the above should have been straightened out by the staff of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops years ago. There is also something very arrogant and egotistical about dissent literature like the National Catholic Reporter, America, and Commonweal. We need a breadth of fresh air with Catholic readings like National Catholic Register, First Things, Lay Witness, Inside the Vatican, Catholic World Report, Homiletic & Pastoral Review and New Oxford Review.

One would expect a Catholic to be for traditional America. But the first chapter of Bill’s book is like a primer for the ACLU. Of course, we have all kinds of Catholics in the halls of Congress and the State legislatures. But if they are for adultery, fornication and pornography, and the culture of death, we need to speak out. For the fellow travelers of Bill, we have a question.

What is the difference between the secular liberal ideology of the ACLU in America and the neo-pagan racist ideology of Hitler and the atheistic class warfare ideology of Stalin? All three have a superior social welfare program which have duped Catholic voters in Europe and today many in America.

This past week, Fox News had a report on the Catholic Church in Holland. One hundred years ago, 95% of Catholics went to Mass on Sunday, today it is only 8 %. The ex-Catholics there are now promoting all aspects of the culture of death and a suicide pill. The pro-life movement has the will to win for traditional America and you, Bill Press, are in the way as a Pied Piper Trojan horse Catholic for the Culture of Death!

Good Health and a Blessed and Joyful New Year,

The Repeal of N.Y.'s Same-Sex Marriage Law

The Repeal of N.Y.’s Same-Sex Marriage Law

Ref. +++ http://catholicvote.org +++ http://americanpapist.com +++ http://CatholicTv.org – http://Nationalorganizationformarriage.org +++http://RaymondArroyo.org +++ [Reference his interview with ThomasPeters.]

“The family is the foundation of a society, the “domestic church” where we learn to be good citizens and disciples of love. Our public institutions have a responsibility to protect, affirm and encourage families and traditional institutions of marriage.”

On the Archdiocese of New York website, archbishop Timothy Dolan blogs: “For us in the Church not much changes. We continue to hold fast to the God-definition of marriage and acknowledge that no unfortunate legislative attempt can alter reality and morality…”

It’s a Wakeup Call! It’s a re-education for bishops and the staff at USCCB. For New York, it will take 4 years. The same thing should be done in Massachusetts. There is no other choice if you are a Shepherd or a practicing Catholic. Gay marriage has serious consequences. For California an ounce of prevention is worth of pound of cure. Vote out of office Catholic-in-name-only politicians.

The interview by Raymond Arroyo with Thomas Peters was enlightening. Thomas has the above American papist blog. His father is cannon lawyer Dr. Edward Peters of Detroit’s Sacred Heart Major Seminary and he has renewed his call for the state’s bishops to deny Communion to Catholic Governor Andrew Cuomo, due to his persistent campaign for same-sex “marriage,” in addition to his public cohabitation with girlfriend Sandra Lee, a host on the Food Network.

Also, upon ministers of Holy Communion to withhold that august sacrament from “those obstinately preserving in manifest grave sin” per Canon 915. It also warrants a canonical investigation under Canon 1717, which applies a “just penalty” to those who “in a public show or speech, published writings, or in other uses of the instruments of social communication … gravely injure[d] good morals.

Bishop DiMarzio insisted that political leaders “do not believe their own rhetoric.” “If they did, how in good conscience could they carve out any exemption for institutions that would be proponents of bigotry and prejudice?” he added. [Also, the vote in the Senate for passage was one of corruption.]

We have our own mess in California! ----SB 48 requires bringing the sexuality of gay, lesbian, transgender and bisexual people to the attention of students K-12 in social studies classes. Even the L.A. Times opposes this hogwash.

Archbishop Jose Gomez of L.A. “The family is God’s first beautiful gift to us. Because each one of us came into this world as the fruit of a mother and a father’s love… [SB 48] is also another example of the government interfering with the parents’ rights to be their children’s primary educators.” Telephone CINOP Gov. Jerry Brown to veto this bill. 916-445-2841.

Lastly, about a month ago I signed up to view Michael Voris’s CatholicTv.org. [Ten dollars monthly] He is a kind of Blessed John Paul II laity person. He will be speaking at 6:45 P.M. Wed.,July 20th at Farmers and Merchants Bank, 12535 Seal Beach Blvd. Seal Beach, Ca. Topic CCHD/Alinsky.

Chapter 1 – Separation of Church and State (cont’d)

For about 170 years, we had a great respect for the Supreme Court’s interpretation of the Constitution. Then something happened in the 1960’s and 1970’s. Political correctness, relativism and judicial activism became part of the Court with its decisions on prayer, ten commandments, abortion etc. This is not the America I joined the Army for three years and thereupon became a U.S. citizen, April 2, 1962.

On the other hand, Bill Press believes in the wall of separation between Church and State. Yet no where is this found in the Constitution. It is a myth.

Bill Press promotes this myth and it bothers him when President George Bush did the following: The Bush administration approved a federally funded health plan for Catholics only; it excludes insurance coverage for contraceptives, abortion, sterilization, or artificial insemination. 36

To understand the why and the serious nature of the above permit Richard Thompson, President and Chief Counsel of the Thomas More Law Center explain it: A wave of persecutions is coming upon Christians but more specifically the Catholic Church in America.

It is sponsored by left-wing anti-religious groups like the American Civil Liberties Union the ACLU, and they are doing this especially against Catholics because it is clear that the Catholic Church is the main stumbling block to their agenda to de-Christianize, to remove all moral and religious foundations upon which this nation was built. And the way they are doing it is through the courts. That is the primary instrument that the other side, the ACLU is using to silence the Catholic Voice.

Maybe you heard about a year ago where there was a case brought by the Catholic Charities against the State of California because the State of California had some laws that mandated all organizations provide contraceptive and abortifacient prescription coverage for their employees.

And the Catholic Church said, ‘Wait a minute, that’s against our doctrine, we cannot do that.’ They brought the case to the Supreme Court of California and the Supreme Court of California said, ‘If you want to cover all of your employees with any kind of insurance that has prescriptive coverage, then you have to include contraceptive drugs and abortifacient.’ There was only one dissenting judge and that dissenting judge Justice Janice Brown said it is clear that this law was specifically designed to attack the religious freedom of the Catholic Church….

The Catholic Charities lawyers appealed to the Supreme Court of the United States, and the Supreme Court refused to hear it. And what Planned Parenthood and the ACLU are saying now. This is the model we are going to use in other states to ram down the throat of Catholics the very doctrine that the Catholic Church opposes. So what we have today is the ACLU using the courts to redesign American society....

The above was a keynote talk given at the Cardinal Mindszenty Foundation 26th Annual Conference Faith, Family, Freedom, and April 9, 2005 at Oakbrook Terrace. Ill. The title of the talk was, “The Catholic Answer to the ACLU.” www.Mindszenty.org

Chapter 1 - Separation of Church and State

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof. Would it not be wonderful if Bill had a prayerful conversion and became a public advocate of Pope John Paul’s Gospel of Life? He would be a hero of the pro-life movement. Instead as a wayward Catholic, he is a pain in the neck. He promotes the secular humanist judicial activist judge’s interpretation of the first amendment. Bill is very upset with the following:
Bush signed an executive order allowing churches that receive federal funds for so-called faith based programs to practice religious discrimination: hiring as staff members only those who belong to the same church. 36

Bush proposed a school voucher program, which would give parents federal tax dollars to use to pay tuition to private religious schools. 36

Bush instituted a “religious test” for judges, promising to appoint only “commonsense judges who understand that our rights were derived from God.” 36

Under Bush, employees in the White House, the Justice Department, and other federal agencies are under pressure to begin their workday by attending “voluntary” Bible study and prayer sessions. 36

In fact, tearing down the First Amendment’s historic wall of separation between church and state is the express aim of religious conservatives today, and they make no bones about it. After an October 2004 meeting with President Bush, Philadelphia’s Cardinal Justin Rigali issued a statement deploring “separation of church and state” as “A MISINTERPRETATION OF THE CONSTITUTION.” 38

In the Supreme Court’s 1985 Wallace v. Jaffree decision, which declared unconstitutional an Alabama law requiring that the school day begin with a moment of “silent meditation or voluntary prayer,” then Associate Justice Rehnquist issued a blistering dissent: “The wall of separation between church and state is a metaphor based on bad history, a metaphor that has proved useless as a guide to judging. It should be frankly and explicitly abandoned.” 40

I recall being a substitute teacher in the Waltham, Mass. Public Elementary School System during the spring of 1962. I read short excerpts from the Bible to the children. This was a positive educational experience for them. It was not unconstitutional.

The L.A. Tidings issue, Dec. 9th, 05, p.20, George Weigel hit the nail on the head.

The Framers’ intent to foster a robust religious life in America by preventing the Federal government from ‘establishing’ any denomination as the governmentally approved faith has now been turned inside out. Today, the first amendment is widely understood to require not simply governmental ‘neutrality’ between denominations, or between belief and unbelief, but governmental suspicion of, bordering on hostility to any public manifestation of religious conviction in the public square.

Rule of Lawlessness

Rule of Lawlessness
In pursuit of the truth – www.cinopsbegone.com. Friday, July 8, 2011

All of the following is not normal in any Presidency. What follows is an article in the “American Spectator”: Rule of Lawlessness in the June 2011 issue by John Fund. He is a senior editor and author of “Stealing Elections” (Encounter Books)

“Is the Age of Obama ushering in an Era of Thuggery by his left-wing supporters? Barack Obama has made clear his admiration of Saul Alinksy, the radical “father” of community organizing. Peter Slevin of the Washington Post wrote in 2005 that “Obama embraced many of Alinsky’s tactics and recently said his years as an organizer gave him the best education of his life.

“Alinksy, who died in 1971 was known for his belief that revolutionaries must stir up the downtrodden to become angry enough at their condition to demand its betterment. In his famous book “Rules for Radicals,” Alinsky acknowledged his debt to Lucifer, “the very first radical,” who “rebelled against the establishment and did so effectively that he at least won his kingdom.”

“When it became the best way to achieve revolution, Alinksy explicitly argued for moral relativism in fighting the establishment. “In war the end justifies almost any means…” It appears the left has decided to throw conscience aside and put the raw exercise of political power first. Consider 2 of 3 separate news stories that developed within the same week in late April:

# 1 “When Attorney General Eric Holder decided to no longer uphold the constitutionality of the 1996 Defense of Marriage Act, or DOMA, the U.S. House hired the Atlanta-based firm King and Spalding to defend it in court. The law defines marriage as between a man and a woman and says states aren’t obliged to honor gay marriages recognized in other states.

“But within days of being hired the firm dropped the House as a client, claiming the firm had failed in properly “vetting” the issue. Former Bush solicitor general Paul Clement, who had brought to King and Spalding, resigned from the firm in protest. The real reason the case was dropped was the campaign by the “Human Rights Campaign” [A gay-agenda outfit] to “educate” (read: intimidate) the firm’s clients about “King and Spalding’s decision to promote discrimination.” Never mind that like 84 other senators V.P. President Joe Biden had voted for the bill. Or that Bill Clinton signed it. Anyone who now touched the issue was to be branded a bigot. [This is cowardly, shameful thuggery.]

#2 “California Democratic leaders, frustrated by the refusal of Republican state legislators to go along with tax increases to close the state’s $15.4 billion deficit, are threatening to focus budget cuts on the districts those Republicans represents… A spokesman for Bob Dutton, the Senate’s Republican leader, reacted quickly to the bully-boy tactics. “It only means Democrats are unwilling to stand up to public employee unions,” said Jann Taber. They’d rather cut services to Californians than fix bloated public employee pension systems… It is a tactic worthy of a banana republic, which California is in danger of resembling as it refuses t deal with its budget realities in a serious way…
