Cardinal Roger Mahoney – 4
In pursuit of the truth – www.cinopsbegone.com –All Souls – Mon., Nov. 2, 2009
1.)Let’s start with some good news. We are a pro-life nation. Let’s begin thinking as a pro-life nation. Thanks to all the FOCA postcards mailed to Congress; a negative situation was turned into a positive one. We are also a center-right nation. The polls are about 40% Conservative, 36% Moderate, and 20% Liberal. There are about 4% that need conversion.
2.)The passage of the Pelosi Health Care System is coming up this week. We need to accentuate the positive and eliminate the negative. Hopefully and prayerfully, the Catholic label Democrat Congressperson will vote wisely so that the Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision will not be enshrined in Healthcare. Sadly, I do consider the CINOP an Albatross around the neck of the Catholic Church & a real scandal and embarrassment to all Americans. A negative can be changed into a positive with their replacement in 2010.
3.)What I feared about Cardinal Mahoney comments may be unwarranted.
Ref. Letter # 1. Cardinal Mahoney’s comments, “Way beyond my field.” “My field is immigration.” Will the CINOP interpret these as code words? You can vote for this health care bill no matter what it contains even if it enshrines abortion and elimination of the conscience clause. Remember there is something good coming up with the immigration bills. The bishops of the great state of Texas came out with a commentary on Health Care.
4.)By the way, the immigration comment inspired me to post today “Legal
Immigrants United.” I view what is happening within Mexico as a tragedy for all of the Americas. It’s like a corrupt communist tyranny except in Mexico it is about the violence of drug money and massive public corruption. We have millions of Canadian immigrants who are now Americans. It is unthinkable that something similar should be happening in Canada. I want to vacation to the Baja Riviera like the ones in France and Spain. Do we need Mexican-American Freedom Fighters?
5.)The Truth is the most powerful weapon of the pro-life movement or any
Movement. Often the truth hurts but that is the reality we live in and if we want to survive as free nation. Pope Benedict’s Coat of Arms reads: Co-Workers of the Truth – the participation of the faithful in the service of the gospel. Let’s always start off with prayer. Let’s check off some of the prayers we said last week at the abortion sites in Long Beach (across the street from L.B. Memorial Hospital) and city of Orange (corner Tustin and the 22 fwy.) a Planned Parenthood facility. (Never to be called a clinic.)
The Descent of the Holy Spirit: The Holy Spirit is our Advocate: He pleads our cause, for we cannot save ourselves. We pray that He will make us advocates for the babies, who cannot speak or write or vote or protest or even pray.
Proclamation of the Kingdom of God and Invitation to Conversion: “Repent and believe the Good News.” Let us pray that these first words of Jesus’ public ministry may be heard by all who have committed abortion. May they know that the Lord calls them back to conversion, and may they experience life-giving repentance?
The Scourging at the Pillar: As Christ’s flesh was torn by the instruments of those who scourged Him, so the bodies of babies in the womb are torn by the instruments of the abortionists. Let us pray that abortionists may repent of these acts of child killing.
Carrying the Cross: Jesus was not condemned by the power of wicked people. He was condemned because of the silence of good people. Silence always helps the oppressor, never the victim. Let us pray that we may never be silent about abortion, but rather will clearly speak up to save babies from death.
