It has been noted that most Catholics and most Catholic-in-name only politicians are not grounded in authentic Catholic faith. What group of missionaries comes to your mind that tries to educate them on the life issues and indirectly on the family and marriage issues? It is none other than the work of Father Frank Pavone and the Priests for Life. From the Desk of Fr. Frank Pavone:

“These next five months are extremely crucial for our nation’s unborn. The elections this November will go a long way in determining their future – including whether or not they will even have a future. For that reason, it’s critically important that every facet of Priests for Life’s “Faithful Citizenship” campaign be fully funded so that they can achieve their intended purpose, namely:

To WIN the fight to end abortion and preserve each and every American’s –both born and unborn – unalienable RIGHT TO LIFE.

To keep five of our most important “Faithful Citizenship” projects funded from now to the end of July. Here are the numbers:
1. Production costs for both EWTN and “Gospel of Life” TV shows: $75,000
2. Air time for “Line on the line” radio program” $190,000
3. Travel expenses for “parish visits”, “Two-by-Two” mission trips, speaking
engagements. TV/radio talk show appearances, etc: $380,000
4. Printing costs for all educational and resource materials: $365,000
5. Postage needed to send out all items noted in # 4: $204,000
This comes to $1,214,000 needed between now and July 31st.

None of this can happen unless you and every other member of our Priests for Life family make a personal commitment to help fund that work.

Over the next four years – from 2008 to 2012 – it is extremely likely that there will be at least one vacancy on the Court … quite possibly two … and perhaps as many as three. Well, it is the President of the United States and the U.S. Senate who together decide who will fill those vacancies.

Remember that the pro-abortion forces are licking their chops. NARAL and Planned Parenthood have announced they plan to spend 10 million dollars each to influence voters and counteract the kind of work organizations like us are doing. {Yes, that is a total of 20 Millions dollars against unborn and family values.}
We are poised in these coming month to undertake massive educational efforts which echo a theme we teach every year (whether it is an election year or not) all through the year, namely, that the first purpose of government is the protection of human rights, and that the first right is life. Therefore, voters have to elect pro-life candidates and block pro-abortion candidates.”
