Coping with America's Culture of Death - 2

Coping with America’s Culture of Death - 2
In pursuit of the truth – www.cinopsbegone.com – Friday, October 16, 2009

The role played by the Catholic-label politicians in undermining the values of traditional America and the beliefs of the “Catechism of the Catholic Church” are overwhelming. The bishop can no longer be silent and wait until election time. His public role as a bishop is to speak out, chastise and censure this person & not treat him as “a sacred cow.” If the bishop is unable to do that he should resign.

Let’s start with the example of Catholic-label Mayor Richard Dailey. Please access LifeSiteNews.com. They e-mail to you articles on life, marriage and culture of death issues on a daily basis from Monday to Friday. It is free; but I have sent them donations for the work they are doing. The next 3 paragraphs are verbatim.

Chicago, Illinois, Oct. 13, 2009 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Mayor Richard Daley of Chicago has said he will sign a new ordinance passed by the City Council at the behest of Planned Parenthood. The ordinance prevents pro-lifers from coming within 8 feet of a woman entering an abortion facility without her permission, for an area extending fifty feet around the building.

Mayor Daley said the ordinance would “try to make sure nobody is harassed.” He said that he did not want people to “harass and scream and yell” at those entering abortion facilities. “There has to be some civility left in our society,” he explained.

MAYOR DALEY, WHO SAYS HE IS A CATHOLIC, EXPLAINED THAT HE SEPARATES HIS RELIGION FROM HIS POLITICS: “MY RELIGION IS VERY PERSONAL…. RELIGION DOES NOT PLAYH A PART WHEN I MAKE A DECISION I HAVE TO MAKE AS A MAYOR, NOT AS A CATHOLIC… THAT IS SEPARATE FOR ME.”

What the mayor has done is totally irresponsible. He could have vetoed the ordinance on constitutional grounds. If that is the kind of Catholic-label politician sitting beside me in church, I would personally shun him, shame him, and vote him out of office. And in the city of Chicago, the time has come for the clergy to register as independents and see the reality of the corrupt thinking and politics in that city and state of Illinois. Why? The above is just the tip of the iceberg.

Another glaring example of a Catholic-label politician is Republican governor Arnold Swarzenegger. He did not veto SB 54 which requires California to validate and recognize same-sex marriages performed outside the state as either legal “marriage” or marriage-like “unions.” He did this after California passed proposition 8 which reads, “Only marriage between a man and woman is valid or recognized in California.” HE IS AN EXAMPLE OF CATHOLIC-LABEL POLITICIANS PROMOTING SAME-SEX MARRIAGE IN THE COUNTRY.

Also, Arnold did not veto Senate Bill 572 which created a day of special significance honoring the birthday of Milk a former San Francisco county supervisor and gay-rights pioneer. Schools will be encouraged to conduct “suitable commemorative exercises,” on Harvey Milk Day, May 22nd. Directly and indirectly it will persuade children in the schools to accept gay, lesbian and transgender lifestyles. (I am a retired public school teacher.)

Sadly, the above two bills, SB 572 and SB 54 were passed with the help of Catholic-label Democratic politicians in Sacramento. In the culture war whose side are they on!
