“It is very good and holy to consider the passion of our Lord and to meditate on it, for by his sacred path we reach union with God.” St. Paul of the Cross

Our goal is to experience the passion and death of Jesus Christ!

a)Peace be with you: The first thing Jesus said. As the father sent me so I send you. In me your will have peace. Peace – an inner peace not the world’s peace. How do we get that peace?

b)John C. 360 A.D. – “The tranquility of our heart comes from within; does not depend on the outside of us.” Don’t look for peace from the world. Jesus said peace is my gift to you. We are talking about inner peace.

c)We want Christ’s peace. “Utter self-possession.” Fear is a big issue in our lives. How do we get this utter self-possession?

d)Peace is one of the effects of the Eucharist. This is peace from the Lord. It has to do with the mystery to be believed, to be lived, to be celebrated. It is the mystery of salvation. The goal of the Eucharist is our own transformation, becoming more and more like God. Overcome guilt, self-resentment and fear.

e)All tied to the mystery of the Eucharist. The only way to get to heaven is love. Love is the foundation of immortality. It proceeds from love alone.

f)Have love for one another. Love is the fruit in season out of season. Everyone is created for love. AT THE EVENING OF LIFE YOU WILL EXAMINED BY LOVE.

g)To become an authentic image of God: Mother Teresa is so loving. We speak of love from a Christian viewpoint. Love exists in your will not feelings… Sin lies in your will also. Charity – They have God’s interest in another person. It has to correspond to truth. Faith – Hope – Charity – knowing and loving God.

h)Knowledge precedes faith! Pope John Paul lI, “Man cannot live without love.”

i)To be a man, you look at Christ. Christ never sinned. The Church Fathers studied the life of Christ. He is God.

j)Our faith has deep roots in the Old Testament. Our Lady is called the “Ark of the Covenant.” Jesus in Egypt – the Sphinx and Mary. Manna foreshadowing the Eucharist.

k)The culture has to be transformed. Our role as holy persons is to transform the culture.

l)THE HEBREWS ARE THE ONLY PEOPLE IN THE ANCIENT WORLD THAT FORBADE THE KILLING OF THE UNBORN. See the movie: “One Night with the King.”

m)St. Irenaeus, Bishop of Lyons, 125 A.D. in Asia: God intends … that each Christian relive in Christ during the first portion of your life… We are slaves to the World – the Flesh – The Devil. We express our slavery – deeply insecure – your dignity depends on your height or weight as examples - fear of being unlovable – our lives can be ruled by fear.

n)We are all wounded. We go through our transformation. God wants to wean us from the world – Love your enemies – treat and participate in their salvation.

o)Live as a child of God. – evangelical love of your enemies – living the Eucharist – Go live the Mass. This is the mystery that is going to save the world…
