The Good News and Bad News for our Bishop

The Good News and Bad News for our Bishop

The Good News: Bishop Tod D. Brown has authorized The Bush Law Firm and other lay advisors to the diocese to explore possible engagement and purchase of this property. I beg to differ with many and sincerely believe that the purchase by the Orange County Catholic Diocese of Rev. Robert Schuller’s property including the Crystal Cathedral is a wise decision.

Having visited the Hospitality Center at the Crystal Cathedral a few times in the past, I noted the three statues on the second floor of the building. They are Norman Vincent Peale, Bishop Fulton Sheen and Reverend Robert Schuller. Without doubt the achievement and legacy of all the buildings are that of Robert Schuller. But I believe that in his heart he wants to transfer that legacy to Jesus Christ. We believe that the Roman Catholic Church is the one that Jesus Christ founded.

I have a great admiration for Reverend Robert Schuller. During the 1980’s, I listened to him and his guests many times. They gave motivational, inspirational and spiritual talks. I believe that thousands of Catholics throughout the country sent donations to his ministry and did not consider themselves members of his Church. Thousands also participated when they saw the religious presentations at Christmas and Easter. With the purchase; let God’s will be done.

The Bad News: It was a serious mistake by any pastor in the Orange County Diocese not to give permission to their flock to collect signatures on the petition S.B. 48 to put it on the ballot for Californians to vote on. Let me begin this way: S.B. 48 is not based on science, common sense and natural law. The legislature is not upholding traditional American values. We live in a totalitarian state where the leadership wants to change us into PC zombies. To Hades with political correctness:

I am a retired 23 veteran public school teacher. (1986) S.B. 48 prostitutes the integrity, conscience-protection, and good character of the public school teacher. Does anyone care about teacher integrity? Can you figure out the silence of the PTA organizations?

The prayer intentions of Pope Benedict XVI for September are: Teachers: That all teachers may know how to communicate the love of truth and instill authentic moral and spiritual values.

Also Cardinal Sean O’Malley in an address to the legal profession called physician-assisted suicide “a corruption of the medical profession and pointed out that it violated Hippocratic Oath.” IN THE SAME MANNER, S.B. 48 IS “THE CORRUPTION OF THE TEACHING PROFESSION.”

S.B. 48 is flawed thinking and introduces ideas which are confusing to the young and to the scientific knowledge that we have of child development. For example, there is transgender. [Trapped in the wrong body] This does occur in 8 out of 100,000 boys and girls. S.B. ignores normal child development, the time of gender permanence etc. A child is not a miniature adult.

To correct the mistake, Bishop Brown can have the dissident priests collect signatures with their parishioners for S.B. 48 at the Orange County Prayer Breakfast this coming Wednesday morning.
