South Bend (Catholic OnlIne) – 5/20/2009 by Rick Copenhaver

Father Corapi spoke to a St. Pius group Saturday night in Granger, IN. This was the first time out in two years. He came to support Bishop D’Arcy who Corapi described as tired and worn out from the battle.

Father Corapi said this fight for life has serious consequences. In his deep authoritative commanding voice he said, “Outside this Church is a police car and inside this Church are two armed policemen and along with that I have body guards. Why? People want to kill me for my stance against. Abortion.”

He paused and looked at the crowd and in a deep voice said, “I would be happy to take a bullet if it saves just one life. We have to have a backbone in this fight for life.

Sunday, Notre Dame Campus:
Outside the main gate to campus: Alan Keyes was let out of jail. I listened to him debate another pro-lifer on a street corner. The other pro-lifer said to Keyes his ways of protest were drawing too much negative press. Keyes responded, “This is a civil rights Issue.”

He said, “My hero Dr. Martin Luther King had just tried to be quiet we wouldn’t have a black president today. He said in a raised passionate voice.” The same names the people were calling King are the names people are calling me today. This is a war for the life of babies that we must be passionate about.”

I’ll be absolutely frank, it was clear this was a satanic war. Outside the gates of the university! There were nearly 1200 protesters. Not the 350 the press reported. There were marked police cars every quarter of a mile.

The police tailed one of the pro-life trucks plastered with aborted baby pictures wherever it went. I couldn’t make a move without a police car. Pro Obama people were thee taunting protesters telling a woman she was a b**** and were f**** racist pigs if they didn’t like Obama. I am certain if Obama knew this he too would have been sad….

Mixed in with the pro-lifers was a group of about 10 with shabby looking brown cardboard signs. They looked like skin heads. On their signs were the words, “stop abortion now” on the last line was, “except for blacks.” They had an eerie evil smile to them. Why was Alan Keyes arrested but these people were left alone?
On the campus it was peaceful. It was such a contrast to what was going on at the gates.

At the “counter graduation”, after the talks, another 1,000 people all knelt down in the soft grass to say the Rosary. The seniors and invited guests went to the Grotto to say the rosary with Father Pavone. There were 300 hundred there. The grotto rosary was broadcast over a PA system on closed circuit TV. How lovely. After going through the evilness it was so wonderful to kneel to pray the most powerful prayer….

You cannot sit on the side lines:

Father Corapi said we are coming to a time that we will be persecuted for going to Mass. We better start building our spiritual muscles now.
