Obama's Socialist Playbook - 1 of 2

Obama’s Socialist Playbook – 1 of 2

Prologue: Stop with the assertions, I was told, give us the facts. Well, Richard Stegemeier wrote the following awesome factual article in the Orange County Register, Tuesday, May 10, 2009 in the “The Orange Grove.” - From Chrysler bankruptcy to Souter replacement, he pushes left.

{But wait, how did we get into this mess? I have a one assertion. It’s called the magic P.P. Obama oratory. THERE WAS NEVER, NEVER AN IN-DEPTH STUDY AND INTERVIEW BY ANY JOURNALIST OF OBAMA PRIOR TO HIS ELECTION TO THE PRESIDENCY. WHO ARE YOU? SADLY, WE ARE FINDING OUT EACH DAY.}

The Article by Richard Stegemeier

A few years ago many Democrats bristled when labeled as “left-wing liberals,” preferring the term “progressives.” There were “far-right conservatives” but, unlike chickens, politics didn’t seem to have a left wing.
NOW, MANY DEMOCRATS PROUDLY WEAR THE “LIBERAL” LABEL BUT BRISTLE AT THE TERM “SOCIALIST.” I WONDER WHY THEY DO.

During the presidential campaign, Sen. Barack Obama ridiculed Republican vice-presidential nominee, Gov. Sarah Palin because she said that his platform was socialist. It would be a slander to accuse President Obama of being a card-carrying socialist but that’s not the point. One can be an avid University of Notre Dame football fan (or its commencement speaker) without ever being having touched a football or been a Roman Catholic or an alumnus of the school.

Most Americans know very little about socialism but nevertheless renounce it as an alien economic system incompatible with our free enterprise society. But that conviction is changing. The president’s promise of change and the bankruptcy of Chrysler have all the features of a sudden lurch toward socialism.

American investors are genuinely concerned that the secured legal rights of Chrysler’s bondholders have been subordinated to all the other stakeholders in clear violation of more than a century of bankruptcy law.

During Obama’s first 100 days in office, the government has begun to nationalize banks, financial institutions, insurance companies and automakers. Nationalized health care is just around the corner. The president insists that he doesn’t want to run the banks or auto companies but it will be hard for Humpty Dumpy to unscramble that omelet. {Also, check the fable, THE PIED PIPER}

One needs only to read the platform of the American Socialist Party and its promotion of class warfare to see where we’re headed. To name just a few, that party’s goals are: the centralization of credit in the hands of a national bank; national health care; public housing; government control of energy; elimination of nuclear power and fossil fuels; government of communication and transportation; a heavy, progressive income tax; abolition of the rights of inheritance; taxation of foreign earned income, elimination of the secret ballot in union elections, legal abortion on demand at no cost and for any reason; condemnation of preparations for war that diverts from social projects; and elimination of the distortion of personal life under capitalism….
