The Notre Dame Scandal - 10

The Notre Dame Scandal – 10

In pursuit of the truth – www.cinopsbegone.com – Tuesday, May 12, 2009

The Cardinal Newman Society fights for the Catholic identify in each of the 250 Catholic colleges and universities in America. That’s why it is so very important for everyone to join this Society. There is strength in numbers.
As I check out these various news items, there is some good and bad news:

1.)“Priests for Life” Head Will Lead Alternate Notre Dame Ceremony:
Members of the senior class who have decided not to attend their own graduation have invited Fr. Pavone to lead them in prayer at the class of 2009 Vigil for Life, which will start at 2 P.M., (Sunday, May 17th) the same time as the commencement ceremony in which President Obama will be honored.
The Class of 2009 Vigil for Life will take place at the Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes, where the Glorious Mysteries of the Rosary will be prayed and Fr. Frank will give 5 minute meditations prior to each decade.

2.) The Vatican’s representative Archbishop Emeritus Raymond Burke had a most powerful message given at the National Catholic Prayer Breakfast last Friday:

“I come to you, not as someone who stands outside of our nation but as citizen who … takes responsibility for the state of our nation and, therefore, cannot remain indifferent and inactive about what concerns the good of all of us all … Over the past several months, our nation has chosen a path which more completely denies any legal guarantee of the most fundamental human right, the right to life, to the innocent and defenseless unborn.

Our nation which, which had its beginning in the commitment to safeguard and promote the inalienable right to “Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness” for all, without boundary, is more and more setting arbitrary limits to her commitment … With unparalleled arrogance, our nation is choosing to renounce its foundation upon the faithful … love of a man and woman in marriage, … there is no element of the common good, no morally good practice, which a candidate may promote and to which a voter may be dedicated, which could justify voting for a candidate who also endorses & supports the deliberate killing of the unborn, euthanasia or the recognition of a same-sex relationship as legal marriage…"

3.) In mid-April, the president of the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities told the National Catholic Reporter that he and the presidents of the group’s 28 member institutions had privately expressed support to Fr. Jenkins for the Obama invitation. That’s a mistake. Then what the Jesuits at three of their institutions did was to deliberately undermine the US. Bishops. They invited three Catholic-in-name-only persons (CINOPS) D. Brazill, Chris Matthews and Senator Casey to be commencement speakers at their colleges. As a graduate of a Jesuit College; that is a tragedy.

4) We must not to let the tail wag the dog or the ox. There are now multiple issues on the table. Let’s turn a negative into a positive. With respect to the useful lay Catholic idiots for the culture of Obama, I perceive Kmiec as the Pontius Pilate of the pro-life movement. He reminds me of the fable - The Ox and Bullfrog: The bullfrog is sitting on the rear of the ox. He imagines himself to be the ox. So he puffs himself up more & more. He bursts and splatters himself on the ox’s rear.
