Walk for Life - San Francisco - 2008

Walk for Life – San Francisco – 2008
Monday, Jan. 21st, 2008
When: Saturday, Jan. 19th, 10 A.M. – 12:15 P.M. Notes from the EWTN Presentation:

Where: Justin Harman Plaza with more than twenty thousand person in the background. Hiking to Marina Green: From the podium and side interviews: Not the walk itself:

Organizers: Eva Muntean and Delores Meehan: First year attendance – 7,000, second year – 14,000, third year – 20,000, this fourth year more than 20,000. Their purpose is to bring awareness to the reality of abortion and the damage it does. Why not try a walk for life out here in San Francisco? Catholic education taught me defiance of the status quo.

Signs: Women Deserve Better Than Abortion: Defend Life, Embrace a Consistent Ethic.

Present: Auxiliary Bishop of San Diego Salvadore Cordinlione: We are here for the children. Marriage is about children who deserve a father and a mother. Support the Marriage Amendment to get it on the ballot. God, you created us in your image. Every injustice has been challenged by leaders of Faith. (About 5 bishops –not introduced)

Bishop Allen Vigneron, San Francisco, Calif. The future is pro-life. God is on our side. The role of the laity is to shape the civil order. The priests are like coaches. (Father Frank Pavone of Priests for Life is one of our the best coaches.)

Alveda King, niece of Martin Luther King: What is most exciting is the presence of so many young people. Praise the Lord! Hallelujah! Give God the Glory! Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. She is associated with Priests for Life, and Silent No More Awareness. The answer is not to kill people. You can’t oppress people even the ones in the womb. In Atlanta on Monday, I will be celebrating the birthday of Martin Luther King. How can the dream of my uncle survive if we murder children? Song: “This little bright light of mine, I am going to let it shine.” Repeat:

Gianna Jensen: I survived a saline abortion. Jesus is the healing. My mission begins with Christ. Even I need mercy. The pro-life message is the heart of the gospel. To honor themselves and their neighbors: Now, I have run two marathons by the grace and power of Jesus Christ. I am all about forgiveness. Forgive yourself. Mercy and grace and redemption in your life: Jesus heals. Live the abundant life. Don’t give up!

Father Mark: For the young people present, it is a personal insult. I was a non-person according to the law. We are on your side. Representing the truth:
Young Catholic Patriots: Home schooled: from Oakland, California: Young debaters about the child in the womb, life issues and in the public arena to persuade others:

Father Fessio S.J.: Babylon by the Bay: Young people are on fire with faith. Let this be a sign for the politicians.

Jesse Romero: Catholic Evangelist: The early Church put an end to infant killings and gladiator killings. Men are responsible. They pressure women. It is going to take men who are grounded in Christ, in the Scripture and in the prayer life. Secular Humanism and Moral Relativism is challenging us. Put on the mind of Christ, Daily Rosary, and wear sacramentals. Be at Holy Mass. Hear attentively the Word and body of Christ. The Mass is where men are grounded for battle. Reclaim back what the enemy has captured.
