LETTER TO THE U.S.A. CATHOLIC BISHOPS - PART 2 OF 2

LETTER TO THE U.S.A. CATHOLIC BISHOPS – PART 2 OF 2
In pursuit of the truth – www.cinopsbegone.com – Saturday, June 19, 2010

We conclude with Part 2 of 2 Draft. This letter was handed out by the Tea Party Patriots 405/605. It better to send this letter to the Bishops than not to send it.

The Church should work to bring God back into the family, community and schools and should give our children hope that they will have a future. It should work with charities and volunteers to help the poor and underprivileged, and assist them to contribute to the economy instead of being dependent on the government. Social issues of the Church should be totally different from the social agenda described by the present political administration. The Bishops are supporting President Obama and his administration with whom we do not agree. We do not want to go the way of Europe, where churches are empty because the population has become secularized.

Although our government is based on Judeo-Christian values, it must be remembered that the role of government and the role of the Church are two separate things. The Church should value the concepts of moral law and deliver charitable works. The government should preserve and protect its citizenry. When Church leaders become mouthpieces for a morally corrupt government, condone or fail to condemn the actions of Catholic public figures that are in conflict with Catholic teachings, and support government programs that will deny the people self-governance, then the Church itself will have become morally bankrupt and will cease to serve God.

Church leaders, by their silence, condone the immoral speeches and actions of public figures. Although God is the ultimate judge, should church leaders attend events celebrated by the unrepentant and morally corrupt? It gives a sense of approval of scandal to people unfamiliar with our beliefs.

As Bishop Charles J. Chaput so eloquently urges in his book, Render Unto Caesar, the Catholic community must take to the public square but with a conservative voice that matches our beliefs and traditions, not one that moves us towards the slippery slope of Social Justice, socialism, and finally communism where God is not welcome. The world has seen that system fail already, we do not need to repeat it. We should also not repeat the failures of the past that emerged from the fascist and communist governments that lead to untold human suffering, not the utopia that was promised.

Sincerely and Respectfully Yours,
