A Baby - Mother - God # 2

A Baby – Mother – God # 2

The issue is very clear. It is something that is very obvious. Human life begins at the moment of conception.

All philosophies and all theologies aside take a look at biology. Pick up any biology book in the world. And that biology book will tell you that human life begins at the moment of fertilization.

You have got there already the total genetic code of that new unique human individual so that the eye color is determined. The hair color is determined. The sex and skin color is determined. The natural talent which has a genetic origin is already determined.

All this child now is going to receive from the outside world is nourishment, first of all from the mother and then nourishment outside the womb. This is going to be a growth and development of that reality.

In 1981, April 23-24th, The Senate Judiciary Sub-Committee held hearings on this very question. When does life begin? And really it is an obvious issue right for us to take it for granted.

But they brought in these experts, internationally known geneticists and biologists from all over the world. Let us listen to some of their responses.

Dr. Michaelene M. Matthews Ross from the Harvard Medical School gave conforming testimony supported by references from over 20 embryology and other medical textbooks that human life began at fertilization. Human life begins at conception.

Obviously, the father of modern genetics. Dr. Jerome Lejeune told the law makers to accept the fact that after fertilization has taken place; a new human has come into being. It is not a matter of taste or opinion. It is plain experimental evidence.

Dr. McCarthy DeMire, doctor and professor at the University of Tennessee testified that the exact moment of the beginning of personhood and of the human body is at the moment of conception.

Dr. Alfred Bonjavene, University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine said I am no more prepared to say that these early stages represent incomplete human beings that I would be to say that the child prior to the dramatic effects of puberty is not a human being.
Addendum:
On Thurs. Sept. 20th, I attended a dinner-talk in Irvine. I asked Dennis Prager, the speaker this question. Is the politician who promotes abortion, assisted-suicide, euthanasia, same-sex marriage, and embryonic stem cell research, spiritually, morally and intellectually bankrupt? He said yes and gave reasons for the yes.
Now we have a Catholic-in-name-only religion by the CINOPS promoting the above evils. They are not only spiritually bankrupt but also politically. Is the Catholic Laity going to be silent about all this?
