Last Chance to Ask Obama Administration to Retain Conscience Protections Pro-Life Doctors --- By Kalthleen Gilbert

Washington, D.C. April 6, 2009 (LIfeSiteNews.com) – As the period for public comment draws to a close this week, the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, as well as other prominent pro-life leaders, are calling on religious Americans and all men of good will to flood Washington with petitions to retain regulations protecting healthcare workers’ conscience rights.

The public comment period will end 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, April 9; thirty days after President Obama formally announced his intention to rescind the Health and Human Services (HHS) regulations in the Federal Register. A source within the HHS has told CatholicAnew.com, that a handful of comments received after the cutoff may be considered. … (Send your comments to proposedression@hhs.gov )

Princeton University professor Dr. Robert George is calling upon concerned Americans to call the White House, in addition to the HHS, with requests to keep the conscience protections. Call the White House comments line (202-456-1111, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Eastern, (Mon-Fri) and ask to leave the message for the President of the United States.

“In the long run, we have less to fear from foes without than from foes within;
for the former will be formidable only as the latter break our strength.” Theodore Roosevelt “The Foes of Our Own Household,” 1917

FIRSTLY, THE ENEMY IN THIS MATTER IS NOT THE OBAMA ADMINSTRATION. IT IS THE 16 CATHOLIC-LABEL SENATORS WHO REJECTED THE CONSCIENCE CLAUSE. They and their Catholic-label cohorts in Congress need to be thrown out of office in 2010.

Secondly, be forewarned that as a very concerned reasonable pro-life activist, I am sending my comments to the above suspect e-mail and to an administration of ACLU type- readers. We don’t like each other. MOST INFORMED TRADITIONAL AMERICANS
CONSIDER THE ACLU THE MOST DANGEROUS ORGANIZATION IN THE U.S.A.

Instead of lobbyists, the Obama administration has littered and infected the government with ACLU, NARAL and pro-abortion ideologues Gong Ho. The American people did not vote for these characters or the elimination of the Conscience Clause for Doctors and Health Care Workers. And this has to do not only with abortion but also with assisted-suicide, euthanasia, and embryonic stem-cell research. They are 4 absolute evils.

We have a novel attack by vote on the Constitution and the individual rights of American citizens and freedom of religion. It is unconstitutional even if a majority of the population calls in and says take away their conscience and freedom of religious beliefs.

What we have here is the legalization of a national secular religion and that is unconstitutional. Do we need to enact the law first and bring it to the Supreme Court? It is obvious to me that the trampling of individual conscience rights is unconstitutional.

Is this a way to get control of Catholic and other religious hospitals for National Health Care? This is a matter that needs to be adjudicated by the U.S. Supreme Court.

I CALL FOR CIVIL DISOBEDIENCE IF THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION GOES AHEAD WITH THE ELIMINATION OF THE CONSCIENCE CLAUSE FOR DOCTORS AND HEALTH CARE.

President Barack Obama,
This is being written and sent to you to let you know that I oppose your abolishing the c Conscience
Protection Act. As a human person
and as a Registered Nurse, I am committed to helping and healing and caring for people, NOT to killing; to respecting human life from
conception to natural death. From the moment of fertilization, a
human being---body and soul, exists. It's alive, it's human--it is a human life. It is of God, in His image and NO human being has the right to deliberately put that innocent life to death. Legal does not mean morally right. The concept of right and wrong---where did it come from in the first place? In
a moral issue, to attempt to
coerce to do something against conscience---How Honorable is
that?
Please leave the Conscience Protection Act in place.

Thank you,

LaVonna Brown. BSN,
RN.

Please retain the conscience regulation and enforce the laws protecting the right of health care providers to serve patients without violating their moral and religious convictions.
