A Watergate at Benghazi, Libya

A Watergate at Benghazi, Libya
In pursuit of the truth - cinops be gone - Friday, Oct. 26, 2012

Let’s start with a quote from the respected Black journalist Thomas Sowell*, “President Barack Obama said that he was “offended” by the suggestion that his administration would try to deceive the public about what happened in Benghazi. What has this man not deceived the public about?” Remember his pledge to cut the deficit in half in his first term in office…”

“As for what happened in Libya, the Obama administration says that there will be an “investigation” under way. An “on-going investigation sounds so much better than “stonewalling” to get past Election Day. But you can bet the rent money that this “investigation” will not be completely before Election Day.”…

Let’s take a second look at a Reuters report, 10/24/2012 titled, “White House told of militant claim two hours after Libya attack: emails.” (Reuters) - Officials at the White House were advised two hours after attackers assaulted the U.S. diplomatic mission in Benghazi, Libya on September 11 that an Islamic militant group had claimed credit for the attack, official emails show… Administration spokesmen, including White House spokesman Jay Carney citing an unclassified assessment prepared by the CIA, maintained for days that the attacks likely were a spontaneously protest against an anti-Muslim film…The records obtained by Reuters consist of three emails dispatched by the State Department’s Operations Center to multiple government offices, including addresses at the White House, Pentagon intelligence community and FBI on afternoon of Sept. 11th.

Let’s take a third look at a source, Victor Davis Hanson^, syndicated journalist: It was called, “Lying about Libya”. - We see a picture of Libyan followers of Ansar al-Shariah Brigades burn U.S. flag during a protest in front of the Tibesti Hotel, in Benghazi, Libya [three days after the attack] Sept. 14, … Brigade members chanted “Obama, Obama, we are all Osama.”

“Almost everything we have been told about Libya over the last two years is untrue… During this summer’s Democratic convention, Obama supporters trumpeted the successes of his Middle East policy: Osama bin Laden dead, al-Quaida defanged, and Arab Spring reformers in place of dictators… On the 11th anniversary of 9/11, a radical Islamist hit team with heavy weapons stormed the American consulate in Benghazi, killing Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans.

“In response, White House Press Secretary Jay Carney, National Intelligence Director James Clapper and U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice desperately insisted that the murders were one-time, ad hoc demonstration gone awry, without much significance. Supposedly, a few Muslim outliers - inflamed over one American’s anti-Islamic Internet video - had overreacted/ stormed the consulate..

“For most of September, desperate administration officials still clung to the myth that the Libyan catastrophe was the result of a single obnoxious video. At the U.N. the president castigated the uncouth film. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton lamented the senseless spontaneous violence that grew out of one American excesses, as she spoke beside the returning coffins of the slain Americans. Nevertheless, more disturbing facts kept emerging: Ambassador Stevens repeatedly warned his State Department superiors in vain of impending Islamist violence…

“Vice-President Joe Biden told a flat-out whopper in last week’s debate, saying the administration hadn’t been informed that Americans in Libya had ever requested more security. He scapegoat the intelligence agencies for supposedly failing to warn the administration of the threat…
